Almost Heaven (But Not Quite): West Virginia Primary Open Thread
almost-heaven-but-not-quite-west-virginia-primary-open-thread

Arrow, who has faithfully liveblogged many an election night this primary season, has the night off. In lieu of her descriptions of the anti-climactic results (Sen. Clinton by 20-30 points, and a victory speech telling us her candidacy is still viable, dammit!) we have here an open thread for you to amuse yourselves with.

However, if the MSNBC All-Star Pundit Scrabble® Tournament does happen to break out, you can expect full coverage from your ERT Action News Team!

Some thoughts, rhetorical questions, and reactions:

This was so exciting that during the first few hours of coverage I managed to balance my checkbook back to the start of the year and to separate all receipts, etc., into five piles, one for each month so far, and then bind up through April into neat packets for next year’s income tax records.

Before the coverage began, as Hardball was ending, I was crossing my eyes from the continuous quoting of lines from what is a really great John Denver song. I had thought of counting how many times lines were quoted from Country Roads to amuse myself.

Loved Keith’s comments about how Hillary’s GREATEST SPEECH EVER was going to have to be on two heavy stone tablets.

It was not a bad speech at all, and her presentation with a well modulated tone of voice was better than many of her previous efforts, but Great?

Does Shill come from Shilling? Terry McCallif is one of the fastest talking and annoying men on the face of the earth. How does his wife take it? I wonder in a past lifetime what he sold from the back of a wagon.

I did say AT LAST when Keith got into his Ponzi Scheme comments because I continue to be really bothered by how the Clintons continue to get older women from the low end of the economic scale to donate money to them. Although I am beginning to believe that both the Clintons still believe that she can somehow pull this off. I note that I am referring to them in the plural again.

HA! On After Hours I just heard Rachel threaten to follow Larry O’Donnell home. Presumably to make sure he gets there safely as he has clearly been driven insane.

And, am I the only one who has realized that virtually any other of the many original Democratic Candidates, including Obama, would have had to drop out long ago for lack of financing if they had raised as little as the Clintons did, but that as the Clinton’s are multi millionaires, they have continued to finance this quixotic quest ala Mitt Romney? Over $11 Million so far from their money and the campaign still owes $20 Million!. That would make such a campaign impossible for the vast majority of people. Certainly any liberal other than George Soros.

AGGGH, another week before Kentucky and Oregon. How will I survive!

I really enjoy MSNBC’s primary coverage. Of course, love KO…even find Tweety interesting sometimes. The panel is great. Everyone seems to be having a good time. And they have interesting insights.

KO just looks like he’s had it with Hillary, though…his body language said it all.

Maybe he just doesn’t want to spring for tickets to Puerto Rico.

Correcting myself: I actually waited up for the rerun of After Hours so I could get Rachel’s comment about following Lawrence home in context, and it was because he kept interrupting her and she finally said that if she had to she would follow him home just to finish a point.

A few minutes earlier she had tried to calm him down by calling him TIGER.

Perhaps it is the jazz music.

And, in that magic time between the original and the rerun, I saw The Daily Show and Colbert, and if you missed it, you must see Colbert for his rerun of the O’Reilly temper tantrum from the old days of Inside Edition plus some additional recent footage of another blow up, followed by fake supposed old footage of Stephen losing it on air. Although this younger Stephen did look a lot like his Latin alter ego.

I hope this becomes a WPITW. I am outraged by this:

“Keith The Mets”:

As a Yankee fan, Keith can’t feel too good wearing a Mets jacket, can he?

Considering his friendship w/the management and publicly made statements that he, by and large, likes the guys involved with the organization … I think he was probably just fine.

Olberfann, I am also upset, though not surprised based on some of the online comments I read. At least 2/3 rds of those who voted at the link said that it was racist.

Curious George is a big deal in my household, and my eight year old wrote his own Curious George story - Curious George and the Bank Robbers - just before Christmas and then gave copies to everyone in the family as Christmas presents, with a careful note from me on the title page that it was based on characters created by, was unauthorized, and with a notation as to the copyright.

So, while I do not consider CG to be a negative image (He is a good little monkey but always very curious, and somehow he always saves the day), in this context the intent is clearly racist and insulting.

Thanks for the Tumble blogging info, Becky. I have just ordered myself both versions of the Obama/Olbermann 08 bumper stickers.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes before my car is egged.

Good catch Stef. I hadn’t remembered that.

(in the words of SC) Sweet Jesus! Sen. Clinton is coming to her senses…

Clinton: It’d be ‘terrible mistake’ to pick McCain over Obama

Keith, toss her a bone, make her best person tonight!

SPECIAL COMMENT TONIGHT?

I am in the other room, but am certain that that was what was advertised.

Special comment tonight.

No idea about what though.

Dana Milbank’s thoughts on the Clinton campaign - you know the Monty Python parrot sketch?

Erin, thanks for posting the Dana “Dead Parrot” Milbank article. It is a riot!

Haha. From now on, I will have to refer to him as Dana “Dead Parrot” Milbank.

(Is it just me, or is “fjords” spelled wrong in that article? Or is there more than one way to spell fjords?)
