Dr. Paul Brown Bodhise earned a Bachelor's degree from LaSalle University and a Doctorate at New York Chiropractic College. He completed postgraduate courses in Bio-Mechanics of Scoliosis and Related Treatments at The International Scoliosis Research Center. He completed Alternative Medicine studies with The Institute of Natural Resources in Berkeley, California.

To celebrate the art of fashion and to showcase the designs of a renowned designer and Chattanooga native, the Chattanooga African American Museum is hosting "Design of a Decade: The House That Reco Built." The exhibit will include sketches, photographs, and clothing designed by Chattanooga’s Reco Chapple, owner of House of Chapple located in Atlanta. Design of a Decade: The House That Reco Built will open with a fashion show on Sunday at the Chattanooga African American Museum. Acclaimed Ebony Fashion Fair models will showcase Mr. Chapple’s clothing line.

Philadelphia Museum Of Art will present an exhibition of African-American Quilts from the Ella King Torrey Collection during Fall 2008. The Ella King Torrey Collection of African American Quilts includes 13 examples by leading Southern quilt makers. The collection was formed between 1981 and 1983 while Ms. Torrey was conducting fieldwork on African American quilt-making with Maud Southwell Wahlman.

High school junior Ana Gray had never heard of the 1970s stage play "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf" until her teacher handed her a monologue. Recently she let a monologue from the play, a collage of black women's experiences, pour out of her during a theater class at L.E. Rabouin High School, a Recovery District school. "One thing I don't need is any more apologies," she intoned. "I got sorry greeting me at my front door. You can keep yours. I don't know what to do with 'em. They don't open doors or bring the sun back. They don't make me happy or get a morning paper."

The Denver Office of Cultural Affairs has put together a festival titled "Dialog:City," which will bring together a mix of internationally renowned artists and designers to create participatory, site-specific works in neighborhoods across the city.

Bound To Go: Illuminating Legacy Of African American Folk Tradition

Bound To Go is a landmark collection of 35 songs from the African American folk tradition that includes spirituals, shout songs from the Sea Islands, prison ballads and secular songs. Lovingly compiled, created and produced by Andrew Calhoun, a working folk singer, the collection shines new light onto some of the most moving and important songs in the American folk music tradition. The record was released on his own Waterbug Records, an artist collective label he started in 1992. Calhoun's mission with Bound To Go, stunningly realized, is to revive the legacy of the African American folk tradition.
