Yahoo Search is currently doing limited testing on a new multimedia, multi-content driven search shortcut, which is powered by its content partners, Yahoo Local and Yahoo Travel.
Some searchers will find that when they search for information on major cities, a Y! Travel shortcut will be served above the organic and sponsored Yahoo Search results.
The content in the Yahoo City Experience Shortcuts includes:
- A photo slideshow of the destination, provided by Yahoo partner Lonely Planet
- Things To Do, which are ranked by user ratings and reviews
- Links to Yahoo Reviews on Hotels, Restaurants, Flights and Maps provided by Yahoo Travel
As the company rolls out new search engine features, its taking better advantage of all of the different niche targeted verticals and user generated content parts under its hood. Yesterday we saw the integration of Flickr into Yahoo Image Search, today we’re seeing various new changes on the Yahoo Search shortcuts front.

Very handy. between this and google my maps, we don’t need to travel anymore.
