Dog the Bounty Hunter Arrested, Facing Mexico Extradition

Oh, no! My pal Duane Chapman, also known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, was arrested by U.S. Marshals today on an extradition warrant out of Mexico for his actions in apprehending since convicted multiple date-rapist Max Factor heir Andrew Luster.

In 2003, Chapman traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to retrieve Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster, who was wanted in the U.S. on rape charges. Luster is now in jail, serving a 124-year term. The Chapmans were jailed in Mexico for a brief time for the incident three years ago. Bounty hunting is considered a crime in Mexico.

Dog's wife, Beth Chapman, said 12 armed marshals "came through the door" at 6:00AM this morning. She said they took their daughter's boyfriend down at gunpoint. Dog was sleeping at the time. TMZ spoke with Nicky Credic from the U.S. Marshals Office. She said, "The arrest warrant was signed by a U.S. magistrate in Hawaii on September 13. The warrant was based on a formal request based on a diplomatic note from the government of Mexico."

Free Dog! He did a great public service in apprehending the fugitive Andrew Luster. The Mexican authorities had it in for him. See this 2003 CNN article.

More on Dog here.

This is ridiculous. Doesn't the US have the authority to refuse extradition?

I am total appalled at what happen today. The U.S. government did nothing to catch that scum in Mexico. Dog did and now they want to turn him over to Mexico. Are they nuts. My Prayers and thoughts are with you Dog, Tim and Leland. God Bless You All

Mexico should fall under the RICO statutes. It is a corrupt regimne. We should send DOG in to arrest Vincente FOX the piece of terd who is commander of Mexico. We need a 100' high wall to keep them out. FREE DOG, use national media to expose this injustice!!

I agree with Jay,this is ridiculous. All of the illegal mexicans that our government won't do any thing about, but they sign an order of extradition for "Dog" for taking a rapists off of the streets in mexico. They should put Luster on the next flight to mexico

Why should the U.S. Gov't help Mexico? We already help them through illegal immigration. Many of the Mexicans are living high on the hog here illegally and we're paying for them!! But you don't see them being round up and extradited! Luster deserved to be arrested and convicted.. Dog does the work the U.S. Gov't should be doing! He brings justice!!

Hey now come on!!!! This man has made a huge impact in tring to protect the American citizen. He has given all children and adults in the United States a HERO to look up to. If the United States Govermaent can not stand up and do something to protect this man and his people. Than what can they do? Hey, people all he stands for is good!!! He's out there getting crimanals off the street that could be breaking into your house next, robbing or rapeing YOUR daughter, or YOUR wife. They could be selling YOUR child ICE. For Christ sake! Lets stand up for the right thing this time and do something to help this guy and his fellow crimebusters out. Lets stand up and give Dog something to be proud of us for.

    He broke the law, Jay.

THIS IS STUPID,LET THE DOG GO TO CATCH MORE FUGITIVES!

It's rather sad when the good guys get arrested for catching the bad guy.

I am a HUGE fan not only of the show, but what DOG stands for! This is total crap! Any other fans wanting to share feelings on this feel free to contact me at randyheather24@yahoo.com. We love you Dog! You will be vindicated! Beth, you are the strongest woman I know! I am thinking of all of you! Love, Heather from Illinois

I agree with Sailor on this. "took down at gunpoint" remember these are bounty hunters- armed to the teeth and not used to acting within the laws that the rest of us live within. I will say that I am biased against Dog,because I always felt that he moved to Hawaii where there are less armed criminals and less organized violent criminals. The description that Ms. Dog gives is not exactly the same as the arresting officers' statements on NPR. He said Dog was cooperative and the arrests were not confrontational.

did he or did he not break the law?

What I like best about Dog are two things: 1) He doesn't use guns and 2) he always treats the people he apprehends with respect and often bails them out again immediately if he senses he's dealing with someone who is genuinely remorseful and deserving of a second chance. He's a very humane guy at heart, which I have to believe is pretty uncommon in such a tough business. Having served some very hard time in prison himself, he knows how low one can get and still rise again. I don't really watch the show much, but having learned something about him I certainly appreciate his contribution to making this a better society. I hope the idiocy of this technical violation is seen for what it is. And that it doesn't take too long.

What is going on here people???!!! Dog and his crew bring a dangerous man in off the streets and this is what he gets as thanks? Why isn't the U.S. doing something to stop this? This is a huge disgrace to a very good man and his crew/family. I hope that someone "steps-up" and helps with this matter. Good luck Dog..

My Prayers and thoughts are with the Chapman family; Dog, Tim and Leland. Beth, be strong for your family and everyone reading this, please get the word out on how our Government is handling this situation.

SHAME!!SHAME !! on the leaders of our country. america is good . it's the leaders that are wrong. help this man and his family. he's does a better job then the police.you let them treat one of our own and we take care of there people. something is wrong....

I thought america is supposed to protect int's citizens Mr.Bush is mexico pissed off becauses of US border Patrol policies I think this is the case

This is crazy - The Mexican government says jump and the US jumps?? Who's in charge here? Dog does the job that the "Pro's" couldn't do and he's treated like a criminal? I am SPEACHLESS! - I just give up with this countries policy.

ahhh, so the ends justify the means... Nice doubel standard.

Bounty hunter, mercenary, vigilante, or whatever title one prefers to use, I have no sympathy for people who choose to live life on the edge in vocations that should be performed by the government, not private individuals.

Who cares about holding a know rapist against his will!!!!Dog and his crew did the right thing no questions asked. I am sure if you asked the families of the rape victims of Andrew Luster if they were glad dog did what we did, they would sing his praises as they should. Good luck to Dog, Tim, and Leland, I hope this non-sense comes to an end soon, and Dog and his crew can get back home and back on the streets catching the bad guys to protect the rest of us. Thanks Dog for everything you do!

They will not catch nor extradite cop killers back to the US, and we are going to send back a Bounty Hunter who was over there doing his job? Someone can probably just pay off someone in the government to get him out of prison, and then he can get back across the border. Because we sure won't be protecting it either.... What a bunch of crap. Thank you good ole US diplomatic politics!

I don't understand. He broke the law... in fact, it sounds like he admits he broke the law. You think he should be excused from breaking the law because "he did a great public service"?? So who do you think should get to decide, on a day-to-day basis, which laws have to be followed and which laws can be disregarded?

Josh said: "I am sure if you asked the families of the rape victims of Andrew Luster if they were glad dog did what we did, they would sing his praises as they should." I'm curious whether the other posters on this blog (as well as those who run it) also agree that we ought to run our criminal justice system based on what crime victims and their relatives think. I'm sensing a serious inconsistency on this board today.

This is ridiculous!! Would we jail a bounty hunter (who cares if they think it is illegal) from any other country who came here, even from Mexico if they were catching a rapist? What does Mexico think he was doing to the women down there? Dog we are behind you 100%!!!! You made the right choice by taking someone horrible off the streets and are a hero for doing what you do on a daily basis!

So here is the greatest Bounty Hunter doing everyone a favor by arresting this scum bag that likes to rape girls and women, and we say Thank you by arresting him. What is wrong with you people? He wouldn't be in trouble if you would learn how to do your jobs. Thanks America! Dog and Family, Thanks for everything. Keep your head up high. We are praying for you!

Patrick, Rosa Parks broke the law also. Now we have a statue of her in Washington DC. Think about it.

The Mexican authorities had him. They released him. Now they want him back?
    That's bail.
    Sounds fair. In Bizarro world.
Best I can figure, Dog was released on the condition that he promised to show up for court. He didn't show. They asked somebody to bring him back. Sounds fair to me, and since he's a bounty hunter I suspect it'd sound fair to Dog, too.
To wit; Nice to know you can rape a 14 year old and get away with it...
If you mean Luster, he's going to be in prison until he's 163 or so. Where do you see anybody advocating that he be let go? Are you posting high again?

ITS CRAZY they should Thank Dog for all hes done and his family. I think mexico needs a kick in the azz for what they have done to him!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dog and crew does a great job catching the bad ones. Release him and his crew so they can get back on the road to catch the next fugitive. Your show is great and keep up the great work.

I think that it is WRONG what they are doing to DOG and his crew. They were doing their job and they did get Andrew Luster where he belongs. I watch Dog every week and I have the utmost respect for all Dog and crew do. Some are saying he did break some laws while in Mexico...like no Mexicans have broken any laws in America.(yeah, right) Dog was doing what he does...getting the bad guy!Why three years later? Best of luck to you Dog and crew! My family and I will be praying that this all gets cleaned up real soon!!God Bless You ALL!

Dog the Bounty Hunter, was arrested by U.S. Marshals I am total appalled at what happen today. The U.S. government did nothing to catch that scum in Mexico. Dog did and now they want to turn him over to Mexico. Dog was doing the United States Government a favor by arresting this scumbag. Now the United States Government needs to do Dog a favor. He has many, many times went after criminals that the US did not have time or could not afford to pay a regular police officer to hunt down. Many fugitives go free and continue to commit crimes because there are not enough manpower or government funds to pay officials to hunt down these fugitives. Dog steps in and does what needs to be done to get the job done. How many times has he and his crew protected an innocent citizen from harm by doing his job? Yes Sir, stand up and do what needs to be done to protect The Dog and his crew. If we had more like him and his crew on the job the world maybe a safer place to live. This man has made a huge impact in trying to protect the American citizen. He has given all children and adults in the United States a HERO to look up to. If the United States Government cannot stand up and do something to protect this man and his people. Than what can they do? Hey, people all he stands for is good!!! He's out there getting criminals off the street that could be breaking into your house next, robbing or raping YOUR daughter, or YOUR wife. They could be selling YOUR child ICE. For Christ sake! My Prayers and thoughts are with you Dog, Tim and Leland. God Bless You All Fort Riley, KS

How sad? When there are real criminals out there, the US Marshalls go after the one guy who is trying to help. The US Marshall's office should have told Mexico to get over themselves.

Nothing like this happens by accident. Just like the John Mark Karr questioning in the JonBenet Ramsey case. Why does a three year old case get acted on now? Oh let's see what a jaded mind can invent. Kidnapping bad people in other countries to bring them to justice is good. Let's get everyone in the US defending Dog The Bounty Hunter. Plus it gives us all something to be distracted with.

Mexicos' corrupt politicians seems to have a thing for making multi-millionaire rapists and pedophiles feel at home. One only has to google "Lydia Cacho" to get a taste of the corruption that exists on that paradise of sex crimes. Makes Aruba seem small. Since Dog took the food out of the mouths of certain politicos there, it's only natural that they would seek vengaza for his "crime". It may be that they are being paid to do this. Wouldn't put it past 'em. I can only hope some of our untainted legal representatives voice a vigorous concern about this unfolding travesty of justice and bring the spotlight harder on the corrupt politicians across the border enjoying the crimes against humanity in Mexico.

Dog is one of the most respectable people in tv. He did the entire world (especially Mexico) a favor when he took out that peice of crap. Now they are charging him and U.S. Marshalls busting in his door? I'm ashamed to be from America right now.

I have smathy for him because it is ashame the way our country handle extraditions and such. I also dont think he recieved any monies for the retrieving the indiviual therefore it isnt bounty hunting just kidnapping which we all know is perfectly fine in mexico, murder rape kidnapping those are ok but being jewish or being a bunty hunter gets u prison time go firgure its dumb

I dont support breaking the law. But I am disgusted by the Law and Order Liberals. It is called prosecutorial discretion. As a prosecutor - 'GO AFTER HE BAD GUYS'. The Dog probably saved Mexican girls from being raped. Was Luster a danger to the Mexican population? Yes. Has Luster raped any Mexican or American girls after his capture? No. If Luster hadnt been captured, there is a good chance that rapes have been averted. Why should the Dog be the subject of such vitriole? I have to wonder about the bile of some of the people that post here.

Roy, Sorry, I was on the run and was really PO'd about Dog and the Lefave interview. The sexual mores in this country (and the insane legal interpretations of them) are so screwed up right now. Nearly every heterosexual man that I've observed today, Lauer included, without reservation, immediately forgave what this woman did. Immediately. Then joked about it. It made me sick. Lafave's interview was a publicity stunt contest and Lauer was the weiner...I mean winner. (a male of course-wouldn't it have been different with Viera?) Too bad people don't see that this whole episode is an affront to justice in this country? We bought it, hook, line and sinker. I don't know who's more of the sexual deviant. The person who seduces a child or the millions who nod approvingly at her actions, saying "Lucky kid". Where is Patrick's precious "law" now? Three years probation and plenty of face time in lieu of the book rights FOR RAPING A CHILD. There are thousands of men incarcerated, or wearing a bracelet, or at the very least having their addresses publicized, for doing less than what this woman has done, at least according to your precious "laws". Patrick, Dog is a folk hero, whether you agree with it or not. He's a stand up guy. That type will never mess with you without a reason. He's got passion. He cares more about justice than any law enforcement person I've ever observed. Your laws are not from GOD. They are fallible. Sorry to burst your bubble. Disclaimer: I have only watched his show 2 or 3 times. It's not my cup of tea. I like movies. FREE DUANE CHAPMAN!!!

Hard to imagine that Dog the bounty hunter, didn't realize that when he didn't show up for his court appearance in Mexico, somebody was going to come looking for him. . Interesting irony, here's a guy who does this for a living, and suddenly the roles are reversed. Somebody is busting down his door and dragging him away. I think this is a good experience for all bounty hunters, so that they will understand what it's like to be hunted and captured by the ever reaching arms of the law. Just because he did something which benefited society by removing a predator like Andrew Luster, does not somehow absolve him of any violations of the law he may have committed in Mexico. While from a moral perspective, perhaps he did what was right, from a legal perspective, it may not have been. That's the great thing about the law, it's for everybody. Ideally, no one is above the law. So I suppose he's going to be deported to Mexico to face charges? I imagine he will fight extradition and perhaps win?

Maybe Mexican authorities ought to worry more about the kidnapping of INNOCENT Americans by their own citizenry. This is just some pissant prosecutor that wants to say 'screw you America' and get his name in the headlines. Is Dog a danger to the Mexican people? Was Luster? Good to see the law and order Left is all keepin the Dog in cuffs.

Ok, it's pretty obvious that this thread is being spammed by someone with a lot of different names, an unhealthy obsession with this dog fellow and a misplaced belief that commenting about the good deeds of the dog at Talk Left will make a bit of difference. Can't tell which comments? Look for the CAPS, the bold and the exclamation points. Jeez. Anyway, I thought this says it best: Posted by Steven Sanderson September 14, 2006 05:06 PM Bounty hunter, mercenary, vigilante, or whatever title one prefers to use, I have no sympathy for people who choose to live life on the edge in vocations that should be performed by the government, not private individuals.

I think that "Dog" ha gotten a RAW DEAL from the US govt. Not only did he not get the $3 million reward for bringing in Luster, but now he is facing charges in Mexico. After all he's done for the US govt. and many different Courts across the country, I think the US govt. should treat him better thsn this. The US govt. can refuse extradition if they want to. Free Dog! Signed, W.E. in Arlington, Texas

please post this comment..... many of you talk bad about the Hispanic Race, I am Hispanic, people don't forget that California was once property of Mexico! you have the nerve to say that all Mexicans must be deported, but we have more rights to be here that you do, we are not the illegals....you are! the American Government stole Mexico from my people, just because my government couldn't pay off a debt. the governer can't pay his debts to the schools, and other people he owes, how about taking his country away and making it part of the U.S. and if it weren't for my people, you wouldn't have food on your tables! my people work the jobs that no other race wants! lets see you work for the farmers, under bad weather, no medical benefits, and at a lower wage than regular pay!!! who volunteers to do their job? nobody huh! so instead of critizing my people, you should thank them for having food and fruits on your table and in your refrigerators!!!!!!!!!

What gets me is that people are complaining about a man that can do the job of 25. He plans and works with his guys to bring criminals to justice. It is crap that people who have nothing better to do, will sit around and kick a man and his family at their lowest moment. Shame on you all!! If we had more people like the Chapmans, who weren't afraid to go out and get the bad guys this country would not be in such pi@@ poor shape. I support The Chapmans 100%.

being a bail agent / fugitive recovery agent i know the kind of life Dog and his family live i wish them all the best also to anyone that doesn't want or like the bail industry and wants to do away with maybe you should think about all the TAX DOLLARS we save you by getting people out on the bonding company money instead of them sitting in jail until court on your TAX MONEY

hes the greatest let him go so he can catch the criminals

dog the bounty hunter is awsome why would they arrest him that isn't fair

My thoughts are with beth and the kids. The mexican Gov should hang thier heads in shame. You arrest a man and take him from his wife and kids for what. Dog and his crew arrested a known, convicted rappest who fled mexico as a safe haven (your country should be proud) and you take his from his family for bringing justice to hundreds of other familes which the gov could NOT do on there own. Way to go MEXICO and the MARSHALLS you are everything crime stands for. The Chapmans are good honest people, do the right thing...... Your support from Canada. We love ya DOG

The Dog should know better than to break the laws of Mexico. He was in that country and subject to its jurisdiction. So long Dog!!!

It seems like the mexican government would rather lock up a law biding people than someone who is a sexual predator.god bless all of the dog team.

Without bounty hunting countless criminals would be on the loose throughout america. I don't care if Dog went into Mexico. If he hadn't done what he did, that sick f--k would still be on the loose raping innocent women. I hope he learns a lesson or two in jail. I'm sure there are plenty of lifers that would find him cute. FREE DOG, he did a service that 99% of Americans wouldn't have the balls to do. Anyone who says anything different...would your opinion have changed if it was you or your daughter that got raped by this skum bag.

Why did it take three years for the Mexican goverment to act. Were they waiting for all their goverment employees to get back from the fields in California.

Let Dog go! He is an american icon and hero. Andrew Luster is a criminal. The mexican authorities were going to do nothing to him. The US government was doing nothing to apprehend him. Only Dog would go get him! Free Dog and give him the reward for his capture of Luster!!

I WONDER IF THE FAMILES FINALLY,FEEL A SINCE OF RELIEF?DOES DOG THINK THAT IT WAS WORTH IT?I BET ,YES TO BOTH.DOG STAYS IN CONTACT WITH LOCAL POLICE.SO,THE MEXICAN GOVERMENT BUSTING DOWN A DOOR TO GET A SLEEPING MAN;B.F.D. JUST BECAUSE A PERSON IS WEALTHY,DOES NOT MEAN THEY CAN JET OFF SOMEWHERE AND BE FREE.WHAT IF MEXICAN WOMEN WERE RAPED BY HIM?WOULD THE MEXICAN ''GOVERMENT'' BE AS HARSH?OR DO THEY CARE AT ALL FOR WOMEN? THE LAWS APPLY TO EVERYONE. THERE HAS TO BE A WAY,THAT IS FAIR/JUST.

I agree with the majority in that this is rediculous. The Chapman's may have broken Mexico laws, but where released to leave Mexico. Mexico should have dealt with then. The one concern I would think Mexico should consider is how popular this family is and the responce our country will have as a whole on not just the illegals in this country, but the mexican citizens here also. I would fear a backlash at mexicans. It will all pass, but I do not feel we should let Mexico use our government to get vendication for a rapist they protected. What does that say about our own country?

Anyone wondering how George W. Bush was able to become President of the U.S. should read (most of) the comments on this thread.

I saw something dissappointing last night on my local news, I live in Sab Luis Obispo, CA, and a local bail bonds man was being interviewed. He said they (meaning the BailBonds industry types) had been working on this for some time and that he (Dog) is right where he belongs. What's up with that? Have you heard anything about this? I'm going to support Dog, and I'm planning to give this local bondsman a peice of my mind today.

dog and his team should not have been arrested for trying to keep our children away from these perverts and drug addicts.dog and the team are the best thing to happen to this country and the u.s. marshalls should be ashamed of themselves. we have people in this country stealing our children out of their beds while they sleep at night and we have these drug addicts killing our kids with all these drugs they are selling them. god bless you dog and your team.keep up the good work you all do for us.my 4 year old granddaughter said LET HER DOG GO.

Wow, reading this nonsense makes me embarrassed to be an american, All I can say is GOOD RIDDANCE! Maybee this will send a message that catching criminals is a job for the POLICE,or the Feds, not self appointed idiots.

Unfortunately the Mexican government is very currupt and for the right amount of American dollars (which the Max Factor company has) even great people like the Chapmans can have a crime created for them. The shame is that our government would be willing to accept such a foolish request of arresting a bounty hunter for catching a criminal. What kind of statute did Mexico create????? Or do they want to keep criminals????

All the way, I'm with you all the way John Mann. And Saddam had WMD and was responsible for 9/11.

True,as some said,Dog broke the law...But,he did it to protect the safety of millions of people as well as see someone punished for thier crime.I think the ones who arrested dog should be thankful it wasnt one of thier family members or friends who were raped. They probably wouldnt be so quick to arrest him then.

We can't extradite within the US for misdimeaners. What is the legal standing the goverment is taking for extraditing a Misdimeaner internationally?

TL, as i think about it, didn't your mother ever tell you you're known by the company you keep? sure she did. dad probably did too. that you would cheer and befriend a guy who violates the law (here and in foreign countries), regardless of the "ends" says as much about your character as his. not a good thing. i'd given you much more credit than that. you might want to reconsider the types of people you befriend. this guy doesn't do what he does out of a sense of "justice", but because he makes money at it. apparently, a fair amount. not that there's anything wrong with that, but please, spare me the halo, it just doesn't fit him. i don't really care how nice he is, or that he doesn't carry a gun, lots of criminals are nice to their victims and don't carry guns. it doesn't make them any less criminals. perhaps if we, as a society, were really all that concerned about finding these people, we'd spend the money required to do so, officially, instead of hiring mercenaries to do our dirty work for us. so, jeralyn, will you be defending him?

Someone claiming to be an enforcer of the law goes into another country and shows no regard at all for their laws, then cries foul when he's called out on it. Sounds like the typical Ugly American stereotype if I've ever heard it. I wonder if the marshalls or Mexican authorities will videotape themselves giving Dog a nice, long, condescending speech about following the law, like he's so prone to doing when he's the one wielding the power and control. Sounds like what went around came around to me. Good riddance. One less vigilante on the streets.

I am a former bondsman for many years and retired and the 1st thing you are told is know the laws where you intend to go to or you can without knowing be in big trouble case in point in the usa no bondsman from out side of the state of (LA) can capture any one you have to call your surity agency and get they will tell you who they have in the state of (LA) they will pick him up for you and take him to the border say (ms) if you go and do it your self you are in the same trouble as dog is ( second no bondsman will bail out a bond return is extreemly rare this is a money business and if i have to return a bad bail back to jail trust me it will be hard to get another bail agent to take you out we dont want to chase you it cost money and time and second dog is not arm by law all bailagents are armed some of this guys are really bad boys. dog messed up he got the other ediot but he also vilated the law him self but not much might happen to him he should have made friends with federal police and get them to bring him back or atleast no camera or any one at all just himself and no one would have known. many bail agents will tell you pay the cops in other country and get your man and stay clear. I wish dog well but he should fire his business atty. and get new ones

I am so angry at the thought of our government turning their back on Dog. He has done so many wonderful things for our streets, and then we punish him and his family for capturing a multiple date-rapist. I mean come on, he saved Mexico's mothers and daughters from this guy. I just hate that we are trying to treat the Smith's like common criminals, and that is such a disappointment to the people that really love the Smith family. They are in my prayers. I am hoping for a quick release and a requital.

John, I doubt many people on these threads voted for Bush....Oh wait I get it now...You probably are right

I am a huge Dog fan as well and fell bad about this situation! i am behind the Chapman's all the way!!! If asked, I would help them with anything they needed! Now, this situation does bring up a question. Why did the Mexican government wait so long to do anything? If they posted bail and left, missing a court date, then they should have done something sooner. This just doesn't seam right and all sounds a little fishy to me! LET DOG GO!!!! John

I am an American lawyer living in Mexico. According to Mexican law he committed several crimes. It was great that he found Luster (which was trying to convince a friend of mine to go out with her) but he did break the law. There are legal ways to arrest someone here, especially as he was not here legally. Curious enough the Mexican Government did arrest him the legal way. He did jump bail. What did he think was going to happen?

also to anyone that doesn't want or like the bail industry and wants to do away with maybe you should think about all the TAX DOLLARS we save you by getting people out on the bonding company money instead of them sitting in jail until court on your TAX MONEY
straw issue, but i'll bite anyway. my tax dollars are already paying for those cells/beds, used or not. the incremental cost of keeping most of those people in jail is negligible, by comparison to the cost of prosecuting most of them to begin with. last time i checked, bail bondsman is an entirely voluntary, profit oriented occupation. in dog's case, he knowingly went to a foreign country, and knowingly (with premeditation) broke their laws. why am i having such great difficulty generating any sympathy whatever for this bozo? hmm? could it be because he and his ilk are basically paid vigilantes? yep, that could be it.

Comment by DR DeMilo, Executive Director,Advocacy Ink I have to find a few points in this affair as strange and outside the ordinary scope of normal activities. Why would the Mexican government wait 3 years to seek extradition of the Chapman crew? Why would the request be made in the form of a diplomatic request from the Mexican government rather than through normal judicial chanels? Why have so many websites and pages relating to this latest incident been removed or blocked and stories removed from media by the API. It would appear that although the Mexican government is more than happy to supply the U.S. with all the illegals we can put to work in our fields, restaurants, packing houses and the like (that same government that turns a blind eye to drug trafficing, child sex labor and corruption). Don't misunderstand my position, I am not anti-immigration, illegal or otherwise, but the Mexican government is not known for worrying about the rights of anyone so why now a convicted serial rapist? Could it be that the man's appearent fortune as the Max Factor heir is influencing goverment officials on both sides of the border. I've heard the conspiracy theories floating around the net and media regarding government trade-offs and the like, but perhaps it's as simple as the economics of a rich convicted offender and two very corrupt governments. I wouldn't be overly surprised if it ends up being an extortion attempt in the guise of overly large fines instead of jail sentences now that Mr. Chapman is successful.

Dog the bounty hunter was just doing the job of those who didn't, he wanted to get this guy, before he did this to someone else, I am ashamed at the Mexican Police, and ashamed to be a Mexican resident. the police there should let him,his son, and tim go free, they didn't know that biunty hunting was illegil in mexico... LET THEM FREE.

To all the people talking smack about the Dog and Crew, if it was your mother, sister, daughter that was raped would you still say he had no right to bring him back for Justice, hey sailor hope you sink

Who cares if he broke the law in mexico. He didnt hurt anyone doing it and he got a bad guy off the streets. You would think the Mexican government would have been glad that dog got a piss of scum like this off of their streets before he was raping there. I dont understand this. And since when did we start extraditing misdemeanors? I will say one thing, this issue has nothing to do with illegal immigration so stay focused people. Especially if you want your voice to be heard to help the dog and family. My thoughts and prayers are with the Dog, leland, tim and all of their families!! Good luck guys!!!

It makes me sick to think that people would want to arrest and charge "dog" and his collegues for taking some disgusting person off the streets. Do these people not realize what the fugitive was arrested for to begin with? His next victim could have been someone in their families!!

How frightening that this can happen. Dog does all the right things, as much as he can. I would sleep better knowing that Dog is OUT of jail and working to get the bad guys back into jail. I can't believe how stupid the government is.

Crazy!!!!!!!!!! Dog brings a scumbag to justice and HE and his team get arrested for it. Sick.....my thoughts and prayers are with the Chapman family....they have my full support. We need alot more "Dogs" in this sick world of ours.

Ain't it all a crying shame we don't have the "A Team" anymore, they could go straight down there and bust him out. Now that would be a culture show.

You people don't seem to realize that he was in another country, doing something illegal. He should've stayed in the US and kept his whole act there.

I have no sympathy for people who choose to live life on the edge in vocations that should be performed by the government, not private individuals. well if they did their job he would have nevrmaed it to mexico..... opps your bad... so becaose he not a pro in yor book the bad guysshould be alowed to walk free until the govt catches them ?? I hope you dont have any daughters...

How bizarre is it that we live in a world full of drugs and REAL CRIMINALS and the United States Government would allow a person, geninually interested in helping to put a stop to all of that, be arrested at the request of another country that doesn't seem to care about anything. My entire family, including my 2 1/2 year old daughter watch Dog faithfully. It is nice to see that not only does he catch the bad guys, but he honestly seems to want to see them straighten out their lives as well. I don't know too many people who would do what The Dog and his crew have done. Let Dog, Tim and Leland go! Let them get back to doing what they do best, bringing the REAL bad guys to justice. The thoughts and prayers of myself and my family are with Dog, Beth and their family. God Bless you all!!! Angie in Colorado

I feel so sorry, for the Chapmans. They have done so much good for the people of the United States. And this is how they are repaid, I think every one needs to contact the U.S Marshalls. And give them a piece of our minds. He is a good man and he was doing his job, taking another low life sum bucket off the street. The Mexican goverment should have thanked him and gave his a award. I am sure the Mexican officals wouldn't have wanted them to rape of their daughters. That raises a interesting question what if he had raped one of their daughter? What would they have done to that guy?

Finally, Dog and crew are bailed out!!!!!!! At of jail on $300,000 bond and have to wear electronic monitoring devices until extradition hearing. I hope and pray no judge in the united states will extradite dog and his crew for doing what the government eitheir couldn't or wouldn't do, even though the government had a responisbility to do so. I mean if dog was able to find Andrew Luster why couldn't the FBI or U.S. Marshalls??? My answer....because they didnt freakin want to because the guys family are billionaires!!It goes to show you how the government only goes after cases they want to not all the cases they should. Makes me wanna send Dog and crew to pakistan to hunt Bin Laden, hell, dog could probably find him in a few days, something the governments been supposedly trying to do for 5 years. I am still shocked over this incident and I pray dog and crew will be vindicated! Good Luck dog, Tim, and Leland, my thoughts and prayers are with as always.

This is just wrong. Dog did the world a favor when he went after this rich, spoiled scumbag. My prayers are with Beth and the rest of the family. FREE DOG NOW!

The Dog and his crew do more good for people then our government could ever hop to do! The so called leaders of this country need to help the DOG and his crew out right away! The government also owes these great people a huge deal of grattitude! FREE DOG AND HIS CREW! God bless dog nad his family! Shame on you Mr. Bush! Why do let Mexico run all over us? Does criminal who runs Mexico have pictures of Bush and an intern?

I am very angry that our government would let this happen in the first place. He took the time to catch a criminal that is what he does. Please stop this madness. Get him back home and let him do what he and his family does best and that is to take the bad guy off the street. What next John Walsh for something as ridiculous as this. I am thrilled he caught the guy at least there will be a lot less victims then there already are. Do something about this and get him and his family back home. He is one of the good guys hello!!

first of all he didnt kidnap anyone or bring them across the border. the authorities arrested them before that happened. he had a mexican cop with him as well. DR DeMilo, Executive Director,Advocacy  thank you for your comments im glad someone else out there finds this as strange as I!
