I have been busy processing photos most of the day. My daughter & I spent a good hour or so walking a local cemetery looking at OLD gravestones & snapping pictures. Sounds bizarre, huh?! I love looking at very old gravestones & just seeing all the craftsmanship … I’ve lucked up & have a 16 yr old daughter that loves doing the same thing! She’s planning on becoming a photographer after high school so she pretty much likes the same things I do when it comes to snapping pics.

I’m still planning a big surprise sale soon – probably next week so stayed tuned in for more updates!

Today I designed a really cute invite for “Isabella” – she’s turning the big 16 in July!

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. We didn’t do much (especially with the gas prices being through the roof), we actually spent the weekend planting tomato plants! My husband grows his plants from seeds in our greenhouse & always has them in the ground the first weekend of May. Well, with him being on the road for the past 20+ days he hasn’t been available to transfer the plants. Needless to say, the plants had already starting growing tomatoes on them before he got home! So, the weekend consisted of tilling the garden & transferring the plants – all 22 of them! I still have several pepper plants, cantaloupe & watermelon to transfer but for right now I believe they are fine in the greenhouse! LOL My husband had to head back to the job site on Monday afternoon but he will be back this weekend so maybe he can get the remaining plants in the ground. (I hope)

Finally, here are some “Mommy Calling Cards”! I’ve had a lot of requests for these especially with summer coming fast; all the moms are gearing up for playgroups, etc… I really like these cards & they are SO convenient – much better than digging in your purse trying to find a scrap piece of paper & a pen to scribble your info down for other parents! (I think we all have been there, done that) These cards are great for parents to hand out at playgroups, daycares, sporting events, babysitters, church or even if your child is invited to a sleepover. Earlier this year I had a parent request “Emergency Info” on the back of her cards (awesome idea), so now just as a standard I add emergency info on all the designs unless a parent requests something different.

I’m happy to see the weekend in reach. Today is the last day of school for my daughter – she’s out for the summer! I forgot to mention in my last post that she passed her driver’s test last Wednesday & is now a licensed driver. What this means is, I will never see her this summer! She will be busy with cheerleading, her boyfriend’s baseball games & running around with her friends. With the price of gas these days, I have advised her to look for a PT job to help with her gas. Our local gas prices just went to $3.99 per gallon yesterday. Back when I first started driving gas was .75 per gallon – I never dreamed it would be $3.99! I heard a rumor that gas prices are expected to reach near $5 bucks per gallon by the end of summer… I certainly hope it’s just a rumor!

I’m going to end this week by sharing a few designs I worked on these past couple days. I’m not sure how much I will be around to post this weekend – my hubby is coming home from being on the road for 22 days! He is leaving again on Monday for 3 more weeks – so family time is top priority this weekend but I will of course still be fulfilling orders via my website.

Memorial Day is the time to remember, reflect and honor those who risked their lives to protect us and our country. Don’t forget to thank a veteran!
