Snow Didn’t Blow On The Urban Garden
Well the big snow never made it to the urban garden last week. Instead of 8″ we ended up with a grand total of a 3/4″ which was a big blessing. Thats not to say it did not snow in Chicago 30 miles north of us there was 11″ of snow. So the north side got hammered and the south side got nothing. It put a smile on my face.
The weather was much better today so I was able to get the wood fence repaired in one of the parking lots and then the Christmas lights started to come off the trees out front. I need to get them down as the tulips are starting to come up and they are all around the trees where the lights are so I guess I will be tip toeing through the tulips for the next day or two.
The weather is going to be good for the first part of the week so I will try and take advantage of it as best as I can. We may be geing a storm on Thursday and they are talking snow again. So I want to try and get the fertilizer down and get as much as possible of the turf over seeded.
This is a busy time and I always want to get started the minute the weather breaks. I guess I will just start and go as long as I can then go into holding pattern till the weather gets right again.
Any ways I am glad for a couple of good weather days.
