PC World经常做一些年度评选，这对我们总体上了解软件很有好处。不过，它代表的视角与国内用户不尽相同（参见xbeta精心荐精品之免费软件列表），因此，仅作参考。在2006年度101 Fabulous Freebies的基础上，PC World于2007年3月28日更新为2007年度101 Fantastic Freebies。此消息是网友从cnbeta看到后告知我的，但不清楚为什么cnbeta不给出原始出处。以致于有网友认为cnbeta又把2006年的事情当新闻了。
　　PC World标题直译，应该是“2007年度101款神奇的免费物”，他们没说最佳，也不仅限于免费软件（包括免费网络服务）。但准确译后反而不易理解，姑且借用cnbeta之译吧。
　　Preston Gralla在文章引言中说：想让你的PC更加多产、安全、博闻、愉悦吗？下载如下软件，应用如下服务就可达成目标——重要的是，用不着花一分钱。
