We are just a day away from the BIG day - VOTING DAY - for Malaysia's 13th General Elections. Every where we are, we see flags, postings on Facebook, messages being forward etc etc.

So it was a welcome change when I came across this ingenious idea called Malaysian Spring.

Malaysian Spring is a rakyat effort to spread the message of hope and change and getting people to participate

Silence is Golden......Again

I know I have been neglecting this blog ever since I got my little business up and running.

Sometimes I just miss blogging, doing my own crafty projects, or even updating DC's development on Tumblr.

Hopefully, just hopefully, I am able to do at least one posting a month!

Looking back at my post, can't believe it has been four years since my first attempt to cook vegetable curry! It must have been a very traumatic experience that time, hehehe...

Anyway, I tried cooking this dish again, making sure I do not make the same mistakes 4 years ago.

This is the outcome :

Hubby noted that there's enough flavour and santan in the curry, but lamented it's too

DIY Washi Tape and Mason Jar Vase

I took back this really pretty bouquet of flowers from the main table during my brother's wedding last December. Happy New Year!

December had been a very busy month for me. There is firstly preparation for Christmas, starting up my own little business venture Simple Joy Crafts, and last but not least, Ototo-san's wedding.

Oka-san had bought gifts to be presented to the bride during the tea ceremony, but she needs to put it inside a nice box. You know whether if a shopping mall is running out of ideas based on their Christmas decoration, and sadly, 1 Utama seemed to be having this issue for this year's Christmas theme.

I love the decoration, with the cute snowmen and larger-than-life pastries filling up the mall, but Where is the Christmas Tree? What about the Christmas lights? I think the huge cake on the right is supposed to

Big Bad Wolf Sale 2012

I heard so much about the Big Bad Wolf sale this year, I really had to go and check it out. After nagging and dropping hints to my husband for days, finally he agreed to follow me there. So sweet of him!

The Big Bad Wolf sale is like a huge warehouse sale for books. This year it was held in The Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC). Boy, I have been really busy lately, hence the lack of postings in this blog :(

While driving to run errands this morning, the radio station I was listening to played this song by John Mayer. It was called "Daughters" and it was just a very simple song but its lyrics was very meaningful. It hit me there and then, I had to come home, Google and share the lyrics.

I always considered myself an organised mess. Why? Because I can leave a pile of mess on the table, but it is already being categorised accordingly - receipts, bills, reading materials, to-do lists etc...

Same goes for the handkerchiefs I used for DC. I can leave them everywhere around the house, but I know which hanky is for which purpose. Unfortunately, my husband does not. Although Deepavali is considered one of the major festival celebrated by the Hindus, somehow in the major urban and suburban malls within KL and Selangor it tends to be overlooked in terms of decorations. One of the reasons being it is usually so close to Christmas, I supposed the malls would like to focus more on the Christmas decorations instead. My dear hubby got me a Brother Innovis 950 sewing machine as a Mother's Day gift. Though I had some projects in mind, I haven't really got the chance to sit down and experiment how to use this machine (yes I am a novice sewing machine user!)

After many months of the machine gathering dust, I finished my first project using my new sewing machine - A simple tote bag with lining.

They serve one of the better nasi goreng paprik ayam or daging but i always get too much rice and too little chicken and sauce :p

{SUPER BELATED POST!}

Wow, DC is already coming to 14 months old, yet now only I decided to blog about it. By the way, I still have tonnes of blogging backlog, sigh...

DC turning one is a BIG occasion for all of us, although she is too young to realised it. We decided to have her birthday party at home, together with close family members staying around KL/PJ area. After one year of not celebrating Mid-Autumn festival as I was just out from confinement and too busy taking care of DC, I am really glad to be able to celebrate with her and hubby this year.

We went to 1 Utama over the weekend to check out the decorations, as well as to buy some mooncakes. This year the decorations were done at the Oval of the new wing. What do you do when you have a toddler who refuses a sippy/sprout cup but still not able to drink from a straw, prefers to drink from a cup but messes up big time in the process?

I had the dilemma with DC as she totally refused to drink from a sprout cup. I got her both Avent and Pigeon sprout cups but can say it has gone to waste. I have to admit I'm was a keen follower of Duchess Kate's fashion, even more so while she was in Singapore and Malaysia recently. I love how she is not afraid to mix and match her accessories with her outfits, and the fact she recycles her wardrobe. I get the updates from this HRHDuchessKate blog. It is very up-to-date and informative as well.

Based on what she wore, it is very clear that

Thomas Anders (Modern Talking) Concert
