Magicka é um jogo de RPG, ação e aventura ambientado em um mundo de fantasia baseado em mitologia nórdica. O jogador assume o papel de um assistente de uma ordem sagrada com a tarefa de parar um malvado feiticeiro que jogou o mundo em turbulência.

Os jogadores serão capazes de combinar os elementos para lançar magias, causando muitos estragos e devastações na lacaios das trevas. Eles também serão capazes de se juntar com os amigos e lutar contra quem estiver em seu caminho através da jornada, ou testar as suas habilidades nas artes mágicas através de outros modos de desafio.
