Confinement Day 13

Just in one day… I found out that there’s two news… Or I should say activity which I can’t participate… The reason is… I’m doing my confinement… Why??? Why they choose to be here while I’m doing my confinement???

First is yesterday… MY FM team was here.. They had a contest going on… What we need to do is listen or check the clue online then find the right person and ask them if they are the representative or not… If we get the right person we will be able to get RM 2,000 right away… Omg what’s this la… I’m doing confinement… How am I suppose to go find?

Second is an activity from Canon Malaysia… They gonna have a talk at Muar Trader Hotel on 28 March 2010… OMG… I’m still doing my confinement lar… How am I suppose to sneak out and join the activity??? Is a whole day thing.. From 9am till 6pm… Registration fee is RM30 only which included lunch as well -.-… Faint…

Today Brandon bring Daphne to see doctor.. Cause she still have a bit of cough.. Hope that she will get well soon… After seeing doctor Brandon bring her back or awhile cause my aunt and grandma wanna see her… Hehe…

When she get back she came to my room and saw E Zen sleeping… Her first reaction was putting her little pillow on E Zen’s leg.. Just like lending her lovely pillow to E Zen like that… So cute… After I pass her back her pillow then she will put it back on E Xen leg again.. Hehe

Besides that.. My mum bought Daphne some new hat again… So she let her try then out… Once my mum help her put in the new hat.. She will walk to the mirror and see herself hahaha so cute…

Confinement Day 12

Finally.. Brandon and I watched Avatar last night… Ya I know I’m very outdated… But still we have no choice… Cause before this I was pregnant… Can’t go to public places like cinema that often… So we have to wait till now only get to watch… What do I think about the movie?hmm… Ya.. Is a good movie.. But I expected more… Cause everyone telling me that this movie is really awesome.. Blablabla… End up… I feel a bit disappointed… Maybe cause I didn’t watch it from the cinema.. That’s why don’t have that ‘OHM’ hahahaha.. Maybe should watch it in 3D will be much better.. Kekeke

Today my parents, aunt and grand mother coming to Muar visit me…

Confinement Day 11

Today after I get up I walk to my parent in law’s room to look for Daphne.. Surprisingly she’s already awake… And went downstairs to say good morning to my grandparent in law…

Is really good to see Daphne around.. Today my status is: can walk around… Sit a bit longer… But not too long… And I still can’t hug Daphne…

Whenever Daphne saw me.. She will walk to me… And say “bao” means she want hug hug.. Daphne baby… I want to hug you badly too.. Wait till mama’s wound get better or wait till I can carry anything above 9kg I will definitely carry you first… For now I can just hug you when I lie down.. Or while I sitting…

Today I started eat chicken.. Hmm… Don’t ask me why only today I can eat chicken I have no idea… According to the confinement lady… I only can start eating chicken after around 10 – 14 days I think.. Hahaha… But still I’m not a big fan of CHICKEN so still ok…

Today around afternoon time my parent and sis went back to KL… Cause my sis got some work to do next week.. So no choice they have to go back… Really thanks for coming.. Appreciate very much… Thanks for accompany me.. And help me…

Of course my mum gonna come to Muar again.. When? Not sure… Maybe tomorrow… Hahahaha… She was sick when she’s here.. That’s why she decided to go back and look for doctor…

Confinement Day 10

Today is a Saturday.. Is the day that I get to see my little princess again… Normally I get to see her everyday but now different.. Cause I’m doing my confinement.. Can’t wait to see her.. How I wish I can Hug her right away…

Last night I sleep quite early… And had a dream.. A dream that involve lots of friend… Jen, Kai Yeh, Jacklyn, Jed, Suki, Kelly and of course Brandon too… Hahaha really funny but actually all story are tie up… Faint… Ok I know I always have weird dream.. And most of the time I can remember them.. Hehe

I’m feeling tired.. Tired while breast feeding… Don’t know why recently didn’t get to breast feed that easily… It will take quite some time for me to actually breast feed E Zen lately… But I can’t quit.. I didn’t want to quit that easily… Ya.. I know E Zen and I feeling tired… But I know we can make it… Phew…

Today.. Got a feeling… Please be supportive to those mummy who is breast feeding.. Your support is really important…

Confinement Day 9

Come to think of it.. How should I really calculate the day of my confinement… Should I start counting it On the day I gave birth or the day after??? Hmm.. Confuse… As what I know is… On April Fool will be the last day that the confinement lady work… No joke… Haha

And I think on that day itself will be the day I go back KL.. Should be la… Cause have to send the nanny back to her office ma.. Yeah… I hired her tru an agency which is called as Daveleen or some of you know it as PeiLing…

I’ve been drinking and using the products that they intro… So far so good… Nothing much to complain about.. The best thing is whenever you don’t understand you can actually call them and ask… Is not necessary to ask back the sales person you deal with.. And they are willing to tell…

I had a weird dream.. Although I didn’t sleep long.. But I manage to dream -.-… I dream that we went to Daphne’s nanny house to pick her up… And Daphne’s nanny house is located near the volcano area… Surrounding by different spices of monkey… Daphne know how to say the word monkey d… Besides that got kangaroo as well… Faint… And the kangaroo keep biting me.. And Daphne keep play with the small miniature kangaroo.. Some times will even bite him.. Faint.. I ask help from Brandon and guess what Brandon answer me? He ask me to wait for him.. He going home to pack things first… oMG.. Although is not really hurt la.. But still the kangaroo is biting me la…

Today I asked a question on my facebook regarding how long can I store the breast milk?? Few of my friend gave me the answer… Below is one of the article that muly friend – Sam found for me.. Thanks a lot Sam.. That really answer my question.. And I feel safer now.. Cause I keep feel that is not safe to let my bb drink those breast milk that we store more than 24 hours… Phew…

To store breastmilk safely, choose containers that are sterilised and airtight. There are a number of breastmilk freezer bags that you can buy to store your milk in but you may find that they are prone to leaks, tears, and punctures and may not be airtight. However, Pam Lacey, Lactation Consultant and Chair of the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers, adds: “Choose freezer bags that are thick, or have a nylon outer, and you should be OK. Alternatively, you could double-bag it.” Glass or hard plastic is preferable for storing milk for long periods of time.

You may have discovered many different guidelines on how long and where you can store expressed breastmilk (EBM). The UK Association of Milk Banking explains that this is because different groups have focused on a particular aspect of milk storage which has been presented in the research, rather than any of the guidelines being incorrect. Some guidelines are targeted at milk stored in sterile conditions in milk banks; others are relevant if you have a very premature baby. The following research-based guidelines come from the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM), and are suitable for a mother storing milk at home for a healthy, term baby.

You can store milk:

• At room temperature – not warmer than 77 degrees F/25 degrees C – for up to four hours

• In a coldbox with refreezable ice packs for up to 24 hours

• In a refrigerator with a temperature of 39 degrees F/4 degrees C or colder for three to five days

• In an older model single-door refrigerator with freezer compartment inside for two weeks.

You can store milk in a freezer for various lengths of time depending on the kind you have. Always keep the milk in the back of the freezer away from the door, because items stored towards the front are more susceptible to changing temperatures when you open the freezer.

You can store milk:

• In a fridge freezer with a separate door for each, for three months

• In a freezer with a temperature of -20°C, that doesn’t have a defrost cycle, for up to six months.

In addition to these guidelines from ABM, it’s useful to know that:

• You may combine milk you collected that day with frozen milk as long as it’s chilled for at least an hour first, and the amount that you are freezing is less than half of the frozen amount. Fresh milk retains more of its protective properties than frozen milk, so whenever possible, use refrigerated rather than frozen milk for feeding your baby. But note that frozen breast milk still has more health benefits than formula milk.

• If you are going to freeze breastmilk, do so within 24 hours

• Milk that has been moved into the refrigerator from the freezer can be stored there for up to 24 hours

Remember, when you are expressing, to wash your hands and keep breast pump parts thoroughly washed, rinsed and sterilised in order to prevent any bacteria from developing in the milk.

What is your plan? to work outside the home full-time, part-time, or to be a stay-at-home mom? Whatever your plan, there will be times when you will be glad that you have a reserve of stored breast milk for occasional needs, emergencies, or daily feedings and care. Knowing the proper and safe steps to store breast milk is vital to the safety and health of your infant.

STEPS:
Wash your hands before expressing breast milk.
Make sure all equipment used to store breast milk is properly cleaned.

If you use a breast pump, review and follow the operation and cleaning instructions.

Breast milk can be stored in glass bottles, hard plastic bottles or freezer bags. If using plastic freezer bags, use the bags that are designed specifically for storing breast milk. For breast milk stored in the refrigerator, use plastic bottles. The protective properties of breast milk are better retained in plastic. Breast milk can be frozen in either plastic or glass containers.

However, glass is less likely to crack under freezer conditions. To allow for expansion, do not completely fill bottles when freezing.

Freshly pumped breast milk can be kept:
10 hours at room temperature below 72 degrees Fahrenheit.
4-8 hours at room temperature below 79 degrees Fahrenheit.
5-8 days in the refrigerator at 39 degrees Fahrenheit or below.
2 weeks in a freezer compartment inside the refrigerator.
3-4 months in a refrigerator-freezer with a separate door.
6-12 months in a deep freezer at temperatures below 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

Remember to date the expressed breast milk. Then use a rotating system of first-in, first-out. Also remember:
Breast milk should be stored in small amounts. For infants 1-3 months old, store in 2 to 4 ounce portions. For older infants, 4 to 6 ounce portions can be used. This will help avoid wasting unused breast milk after feedings.
Never pour body-temperature milk on the top of frozen milk. This could partially thaw the frozen milk and allow bacteria to grow. Instead, chill the breast milk and then add it to a container of already-frozen milk.

Frozen breast milk can be thawed in the refrigerator, under warm running water from the faucet, or in a bowl of warm water.

To warm breast milk, run lukewarm tap water over the bottle of milk or place it in a bowl of warm water. This will take the chill off the milk. Before feeding the breast milk, gently shake the container to ensure an even temperature and to mix the layers. It is common for breast milk to separate during storage. Use the breast milk within 24 hours and never refreeze it.

Do not thaw or heat breast milk in a pan on the stove or in the microwave. Do not boil the breast milk. High heating temperatures (over 100 degrees Fahrenheit) can destroy nutrients and protective properties of the milk.

Because bacteria from the baby’s mouth can get into the milk, NEVER store and reuse a bottle of breast milk once your baby has been fed from that bottle. The bacteria can multiply and then make your baby sick.

Use the weight of the baby to estimate the amount of breast milk to leave for each feeding. The following example calculates a 12 pound baby’s needs.
Round the baby’s weight to the nearest half pound (12 pounds).

Multiply this weight in pounds by 3 (12 x 3 = 36).
Divide by 8 to get the number of ounces of breast milk to leave for each bottle-feeding (36/8 = 4.5). “

Yeap.. Last time only my mum came during my last confinement.. This time gonna be three of them… Hee hee…

One week just pass like that.. Consider fast?? Normal Lu.. Still have 21 days or less to go… Ok… Hmm my family coming to accompany me soon.. Happy.. Wink…

The confinement lady was quite caring.. She scare that I got not enough sleep so she will try to arrange when to feed ezen with those breastmilk and when should I let ezen have latch on.. Like that I get to sleep even during day time…

Just now after I pass ezen to the confinement lady I really fall asleep.. Till Brandon called hehehe.. Get up and check on the facebook… And saw a video that Kai Yeh (Pete) took.. Omg.. Nice.. Make me feel like wanna take video with it too.. I think I will use ezen to try it out hehe..

How’s the itchy itchy tummy d?? Hmm.. I guess is getting better.. Hope that it will cure real fast.. I try not to scrach it hehe…

Today not sure why.. Seems like E Zen don’t really know how to latch on anymore… Hmm.. He was quite ok previously.. Haih.. Headache.. All I can do is be patience.. Hopefully I can get this over and really breadtfeed him as long as I can… Hold up girl…

Confinement Day 6

As usual the night before I have back ache… Ever since I discharge.. I keep have back pain… Is not lower back where they put the injection before operation.. Is the upper back where near the ‘wing’ hahaha u know chicken wing?? Yeah that place… Wonder why… And why must be night time?

Besides that.. Last night suddenly my tummy feel very itchy again.. Wonder why… I didn’t apply anything also… Previously when I was still in hospital it does feel itchy once.. But after I apply the cream that the doctor gave me… I feel better d.. Till last night…

Is it because of what I apply? Or is it because of the food?? Can’t be.. Cause I just eat like normal only.. Nothing special also.. Besides the cream that the doc gave me.. I didn’t apply any other thing as well.. Faint

Morning Brandon fetch me back to the hospital for follow up.. The doctor check on my wound.. And check on my itchy tummy.. Then he gave me a cream and a 2 course med so that it will cure the itchiness…

Doctor said that’s actually consider the pregnancy ellergies hmm.. First time I hear of this thing… Last time when natural birth I didn’t have this also…

Some of the people asked me how’s the confinement… Hmm.. So far ok la.. Just a bit boring… The others as in food ok Lu. The confinement lady ok Lu (although she’s around 60 years old)… She’s kind of caring… The way she take care baby also like very easy not like the previous one always make things like a big deal like that…

Sometimes she even help me massage my back.. Wink…

Hmm.. Today feel a bit boring already.. Is just day 5… Still got 25 days more to go… Wonder how am I suppose to pass the day faster…

Now what I do daily… Is just.. Get up wait for the time to feed Ezen.. Eat… Lie down on the bed… Try to read books.. But can’t read too long.. As for drama series I try not to watch tv that often…

OMG.. My back is soooooooo pain after I keep lying down on the bed.. Seriously.. Keep lie like that is no fun… Hmm.. Wonder when will I be able to walk around more often… Or even sit longer.. Unlike last time.. After giving birth naturally I can straight get up and walk to baby room… Really totally different…
