Hello for everyone! I'm here again. Today I would like to present one more Hide IP Soft (probably, I should call it Online Anonymizer).

They said nothing about social sites :-) If they want restrict some parts of a social site they may do so, but we know for sure that they do not want to spend their time for that. That is the case.

Why should we follow some rules when our wishes are ignored? Let's remember some periods of everybody's life.

When we are young, we are at school. We cannot use the Internet to communicate with our friends or to meet new ones. The admin of the school blocks the access to MySpace and other social websites. We had to hide IP but we didn’t know.

BUT!!! At the lessons our teachers tell us that the Internet main purpose is to communicate through it with people who are not in your country and even far!!??

When we are at university/college, our teachers tell us the same, but the admin of a university/college blocks the access to social sites too. What does that mean? The system do not want we may talk with people from other countries because they have other rules that are different and we should not know them. We should know and understand our rules only.

BBC announced that on 24 February 2008 Pakistan has blocked access to the popular YouTube website because of content deemed offensive to Islam.

It is about the same thing again. They state that the content included Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad that have outraged many.

But one report said a trailer for a forthcoming film by Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders, which portrays Islam in a negative light, was behind the ban.

The government still cannot find a better way how to resolve such a problem. It is easier for them to ban the access for all of the people than to punish one person for that accedent.

I think that there should be another way out of this situation and I hope that people of Pakistan will access the Myspace soon.

One of the ways that I can see right now is to restrict a particular part of a site. But I'm sure they even do not want to try to do something to comfort citezens. The "high power" always stay afar from their "people".

Secure Surfing without VPN

How to avoid using the VPN?

Most friends and colleagues of mine hide IP address, encode the traffic from ISP. Sometimes they even compress a data with the help of VPN service. Some of them buy a new ISP access point that cannot guarantee the security either. Others run the service on their own PCs examining its details or just leave this task for server’s administrator.

VPN minuses in my opinion:

- It is workable for a couple of software only (3-4 actually)

- VPN tunnel use all Internet traffic (all Internet software are closed if VPN is disconnected with Internet)

- Additional software installation is required

So, if you wish to secure your Internet connections you only need a little freeware utility software MyEntunnel and an account with SSH access to your (or not your) server. Install this utility and do some software settings: host name, login and password, tick off “Enable Dynamic SOCKS”. Other fields you may input as you wish. I recommend you to tick off “Enable Compression” if you have slow channel or you’d like to economize the traffic.

Save the settings, and then connect. That's it! Port 7070 – is a default port (you can input any port). On the screenshot we can see SOCKS5 proxy server that is tunneled through SSH to your server.

You may set up any IM, browser or other software to work through this proxy. The software will work through encoded, compressed connection with a server without keeping logs, without proxies and VPNs.

If your software does not support SOCKS5 – you have to install an additional local interlayer protocol - > SOCKS. E.g. CCProxy (free for 3 users maximum). Input localhost: 7070 in "Options" - > "Advanced" - > "Cascading Proxy". Set up your software to CCProxy (more information about ports you may find in “Options” - > “Configuration”)

In addition, I want to say that MyEntunnel is just GUI for plink utility (a command-line interface to the PuTTY back ends) and SOCKS5 runs through one of opportunities of OpenSSH (ad hoc SOCKS proxy server). I like SSH!
