These two years in JC have been really short. Many have said that time flies when we are having fun, though I think a more nuanced view at the quote is warranted, after which it may be intepreted as time flies when we are doing work instead. For some, 'work' and 'fun' are but two synonymous themes, but for others, they couldn't have been more different than oil and water.

What comes after JC for the class is greeted with much uncertainty for most of us, especially since our class has never been the epitome of a bonded entity, and to say that our class is bonded may be stretching the definition of 'bonded' a little. But we can't deny that our class IS bonded, albeit in our separate stratifications, and that it is among these little groups of ours we have each learnt to become more comfortable with one another and have grown closer in the process.

Time places things into perspective, and what we never know what may happen in the next chapter of our lives. Perhaps 6 or 7 years down the road, when most of us would have completed our university education, we may decide to meet up and find out more about one another. Some of us may have changed beyond recognition, others may remain largely the same, but we will never know unless we bother to find out.

And it is in this same strand of thought that I have glimpsed one of the greatest lessons in JC: if we should never try, we would never know. Regret is one of the most debilitating emotions of the human mind, and it is always better to try and be turned down, rather than not try at all.

So, years down the road when any of us feels a slight pang of nostalgia and wish for a class gathering, just act on it and start asking around! haha rest assure that one other person will definitely make it, and at the worst case scenario, we can always have a little chit-chat to catch up with one another ;)

It has been close to 2 years since this blog started out, and it hasn't really been able to survive for long. Lots of us don't know where the next few years will see us (well at least for the guys it's ns), and lots of things may change, so before it does, well just like to say thanks for making these 2 years a memorable one (subjected to each person's interpretation that is). As Dr Fang said, today seems really anti-climax. Anyone else have any after thoughts? Haha back to mugging

swensens/pizza hut or orchard even! more fun yeah! movie, or just lunch or we could go to this nice rooftop garden thing at suntec and order pizza.. =)

june's gonna be a stressful time so yeah, so please rmb to take this time to recuperate as well! and if anyone needs help with anything then im sure there are some classmates who are willing to help. (like if you need help with maths, just look for me ah. =D) so yeah hang in there manz, we havent even reached The horrible times yet, so wooh jiayou!

OH one other activity we can all engage in. LET'S SEND WENCHUN OFF AT THE AIRPORT ON 6JUNE! cos im sure we'd miss him Very much. some more than others, but yeah. (we can have lunch/dinner there as well hoho) eh what time ah? i duno leyh.. =/

A new beginning

Hey 5A ppl!

I guess those who still visit our class blog would have grown used to seeing wenchun's face staring back at you on your computer screen (btw, he really got silver for SEA games), so here's just another entry to revive our blog. christmas is over and 2008 is approaching, really really soon, which means we'll be seeing each other pretty soon and facing each other practically everyday. thanks so much to siti and fungshing for burning with enthusiasm and passion as our CT reps!and for suggesting a christmas gathering, well that materalised. but i believe since our class is full of really nice ppl, all nice ppl must have super packed schedules, so as long as we know deep down that we had thought about having a gathering, it's after all the thought that counts. anyway, it's another year ahead, together as a class, and perhaps this thought woud translate into actions during the following christmas.

some might be mugging, some might still be overseas, a certain few overwhelmed with orientation stuff, and others just taking a breather. whatever the case, we all know that next year is going to be tough, sooner or later we'll realise that. honestly for me, i didn't know anyone in 5A before the start of 2007, definitely not the guys, and even the girls i've shockingly never crossed path in the past 4 yrs. however we see this class of ours, i personally feel that i'm lucky to be here, and glad to be here, and look forwards to the next year, so have no fear (haha it rhymes!)perhaps in comparison to our former experiences of makes a class, 5A might pale, when guys could go really crazy without the presence of female, and girls could change in class during the days without male, but one thing that has struck me crystal-clear, despite the cliques the noise and those personalities rather queer, i'll want to cherish these 2 years, and the memories and friends i've made i'll hold them truly dear.

haha so ya, no more slacking, no more distractions, it's time to focus, the year would soon pass, and we definitely don't want any regrets, so just looking forward to seeing you guys in a week's time! happy new year!

p.s. no more sleeping during tutorials/lectures either!

Our Play Clinic guest for this week is a sailing boy wonder who is currently in his first year at the Raffles Junior College.

Yep, that's Low Wen Chun, 17. He's not just an ordinary kid who has exams and games on his mind. No, he's got more things on his mind than just that! He is... *drum rolls* the master of the sea!

Okay… maybe less dramatic but, close. Wen Chun is a sailor with Team Singapore and is hard at work preparing for the upcoming SEA Games. Sure, he might be young, being all of 17 years of age; but he has already sailed for 11 years – more than half his life! Talk about being a pro.

Stranger meet, and there we plant the friendship seed, no matter where our path may lead

Once again, a big thanks to our wonderful CT rep Siti for helping with allthe planning, and FS for helping with erm the eating? haha and LQ for helping with the booking of the chalet. and also a big thanks to all those who turned up, and made this class outing a success! it was really enjoyable, and even though most of us probably ended up really sleepy, and some going to get pimple outbreaks because of the oil and stuff, it was all worth the while! the bbq was awesome! i'm sure after the long medley of out-of-tune songs and really random raffles cheers, the entire downtown east would have realised that we are from rjc, but oh well, it simply proves the point that K-box is a waste of money (you can sing wherever you are xD)and if you want to know what kind of humour belongs to the Royce category, you must definitely have a try at watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail. it's THE most 'funny' comedy ever i assure you, especially when we were watching it in the middle of the night, talk about coconuts and horseback riding, what an interestingly funny show indeed. and some of us managed to wake up or rather stay up for the sunrise, while the rest continued their sweet dreams. yup, so that's the rough summary of what we did during class chalet, for more interesting accounts, go look for the 18 others who turned up! and as the saying goes... a picture speaks a thousand words:

Anw here are the updates for the exciting upcoming class event.

Where: Costa Sands Pasir Ris
When: 05-06/11/07
Assembly point: Pasir ris mrt 10am or you can meet us at the chalet lobby anytime onwards
Things to bring: um extra clothes, stuffs you cant sleep without(-hides teddy), money!!, exciting games(hopefully something tt everyone can play), toiletries etc.

yar anw, about the cost per person, i'll get back to you guys kay? definitely less than $20 per person, hope tt's fine. is it okay if those who dont stay over, but will be having the bbq pay the same price as those who are? cos actually the bbq costs more than the chalet itself.. =/ maybe we can invest the excess money(if there is any) in ice- cream or something..
