It would seem I try to start blogging again as a kind of 'new years resolution', my last post was about this time last year! Shameful I know, but I think that my lack of knitting could be the reason why I have not been posting.

I have knit basically...nothing in about 1 or 2 years, and I really miss it. I have still been spinning a lot, my ever growing stash of hand spun with no project to their name is rather impressive.

I wish I was able to knit again, and I wish I knew what is causing me so much trouble! Maybe my ADHD ways of being unable to finish something is a factor, or inability to decide on a project to even start! Or maybe just a while pile of 'stuff' going on in my life has been taking up my brain space. Either way it's laaaaaame XP

Perhaps this year will be quite different, I will be spending a lot of time on buses soon, I am starting study at AIE [Academy of Interactive Entertainment] in Feb which is just around the corner. I will be starting an Advanced Diploma of Professional Games Development [programming], and suffice to say I am outrageously excited about it! The campus is all the way out in Watson, which is about as far from out suburb as one can get and still be in the ACT :P

Hopefully I will post more about stuff in general, not just knit/spinning

I have not posted in a long time! I have not been knitting much because my hands are so sore D-: But i have started a small project, some more car ears which will be good.

Many of you have been showing interest in my whittling, like how i do it and such.

Anyhoo if u want to see some *really* amazing hand-made crochet cooks, Jimbo's Front Porch is perfect, he also has a tutorial how he makes his. I do mine differently but yeah, wanted to show you his site :)

Spinning stuff!

tada! Tea Time, i hand dyed some merino with tea and spun singles, and plyed it with some natural merino singles.

And the purple is my first silk! My Yarn Sister taught me how to spin with silk :D Thank you so much ^-^

School isn't to bad, Programming is still wait and see, Web Design is a bit...nurr lots of people >.< and Forensics should be awesome! We are going to do some fiber identifying :P And i told Helen (our AWESOME science teacher) how i am a spinner and knitter, and she is a sewer! So she likes crafty, fibery stuff and asked me to bring in some of my work :P yay!Sounds like knitting in her class should be OK ;)

THIS YEAR i will attempt to become more organized!
I have a diary, like the mini kind with dates, and a couple of lines if u have something on...
I have Ravelry
I have diabetes log book stuff
and i want to get a personal diary! And aim to write in it every day, but no biggy if i dont! This way i can write you know, good day or not or get rid of any of that excess angst i cant throw at people at school, and my pain levels! The main point of the diary is to have a record of pain stuff, like where and when and how much. etc.
I also hope that writing stuff down more will help with my whole brain-to-paper problems. I might also do a couple of my own essays on a subject i have chosen, because i struggle with them, so if i practice with stuff i like ill get better..

Anyway

Knittery stuff.Well more spinning. i have been playing with silk and teh spinning wheel, many many thanks to Happy Spider for the lesson :D I have also done a couple of dyeing experiments, dyeing fleece with tea was fun, then ply the tea-singles with pure white singles, yum!

I still haven't found my drop spindle! *sad face* i miss it, its "somewhere in the garage!", doom.

Slowly knitting the shawl still..i forget how to spell it. I now have an infinite amount fo new projects i want to do thanks to ravelry :P But yeah knitting is slow. I made dad a cup cozy for x-mas, because he forget about his drinks a lot. And i improvised a dice holder for Morgan, but i don't have any ribbon for the drawstring still...Ah well, almost 100% :P

I have been playing with crochet, as you may know, still learning how to count stitches and identify one stitch and things, but im enjoying it. Not such a great online crochet community ive found, but i did stumble across a really awesome blog, crochet of distinction. Mindy uses beautiful Irish crochet, combined with knotting and tatting to create AMAZING jewlery! Very inspiring, fine work. Of course now i want to try tatting out :P Looks pretty.

Also been whittling! I whittled a few crochet hooks! Very happy with them, very easy to do :P I also made a darning needle for fun. I am looking for a good save whittleing knife but its been proving difficult.

Im working on Moggy's riding gloves. The "classic riding gloves" in the latest Yarn issue. Made the nice band with cables, picked up stitches, worked the 10 rows as they say to, all good, then they say: Begin working from cable chart for the back of the hand...." etc....Chart? Oh not on my scans! Ill just get the book....chart chart chart...uh, not on teh next page....not in the back...

THERE IS NO CABLE CHART!

*grumbles*

I mean sure i could knit it without the cables, i *guess*, but he likes them! and the number of stitches is made to have cables....and and and...grrr. There's no reference as to where they are either! No url, no page number. I even read teh rest of the pattern carefully to see if it was in one of the other directions. Not there! I am positive about this, its not just because I'm stressed, tired, not sleeping well, and I miss morgan. They really aren't there.

help anyone?

Knitting for someone is very special I think. You knit every stitch for them, every single one. Now knitting for a commission, or for a deadline can be hard, because you didn't choose the pattern or have the excitement of finishing it for yourself. On the other hand sometimes your passion or love for the person you knit for can keep you excited about finishing it, and giving it to them! awwww

So, onto the point of this, I'm going to make a list of some people I have wanted to knit for for a while now, and this way I'll have a record to look back on and maybe keep me on track. I will just put down what I have in mind for people already, there are many friends and family I'd like to do something special for but I don't know what to do yet...here we go.

Morgan - riding gloves! He rides a lot, and has chosen a pattern already. Yay. Also thinking of making him a nice jacket/jumper with cables

Oma - I have already started some Bam Socks, I just need to finish them and send them to her.

Mum - I'm thinking some proper fingerless gloves, because she uses the computer a lot. But I have to learn how to knit them first! She has done so much to help with everything, I don't think any amount of knitted objects will really show my full gratitude and love.

Archer (Morgan's little brother) - He is just so cute I cant resist knitting a cute beanie for him!

Ash - Ash has been a great friend for the past couple of years, and I know he works a lot with computers so I think maybe some voodoo-wrist warmers would be good

Mick - Mick has also been a very good friend in the past 6 months I've known him for. He also plays magic so I want to make him a deck holder.

Rodger - this is thinking ahead a lot, but Rodg likes celtic knots a lot, so one day I will make him a cabled jumper, or socks.

Hmm there could be more. But I can't remember right now.

In other knews I've done a few injections now, slowly getting the hang of things. I still don't have the password stuff for updating my website, I think I'll just e-mail the admin.

Thanks to every-ones kind words to the latest bad news, I've been reading them on Mum's blog as well, she has been writing in more detail about what's going on.

Hello everyone! Im back from my holiday a bit earlier than planned but more of that later.

Firstly, thank you everyone for the happy birthday messages ^-^ I had a really nice, if not a bit stressful, day with all my friends who play Magic. All the food was diabetic friendly (big thank you to teh Mother God for that), and believe it or not it was all eaten up happily by the teenage boys! Shocking isn't it.

Now as many of you already know my mac book (pictures soon to come) is my main birthday pressant of all time from MG Dad and Ed (aka grandfather). So i wasn't really expecting too much on the B-Day. Man i had a HUGE shock.... I got 7, yes 7, things from Think Geek. I almost exploaded, and heres why:

Anyhoo I would have done a birthday-related post sooner but on Monday (day right after my birthday lol) I left off with Moggy to Merimbula for a holiday with his and my relitives! His grandfather is actually a super-chef, and owns the Zanzibar Café there, so I got to have some amazing meals there...for free! It felt strange eating there and leaving without paying!
Anyhoo, I got to meet Moggy's dad, cousin Luke, and his grandparents which was really nice. Mog also got to meet my Oma who i was staying with, it was good fun.

Unfortuntally I had to come home today because my latest blood test has shown I have Type 1 diabeties. So understandibly I have to start on insulin and make regular visits to the hospital to make sure I'm ok, and to learn about insulin injections. Seriously sucky birthday pressant from the medical world :P Oh well, they are saying once we know how much insulin I need, I'll start feeling a lot better. So that means "yay"... I think

Moving on.
I've made a new webpage! Well more of an update. I'm really happy with this one, I even use Divs to do my bidding! Woot!

So here are some "previews"!

tada. Finished another pencil case hat...its a lil small...as in..deepness. But i can fix that later. So yes. Photos of me showinf off teh hat, and of me being silly. And you have been able to view this sillyness thansk to teh build in web camera thingy in my NEW COMPUTER! yes thats right its finally arrived, my Mac Book *swoon* and its purple! love it so much!

Anyhoo this hat has been knit all in slip-one-knit-one ribbing, very fancy. And ive been thinking of a way to make a Pencilcase hat in the round. So keep and eye out for a new pattern on my website. Hmm.

Thats all i can think of writing right now....Untill nex time.

hello everyone...zombie Jenny here, sorry its been so long since I updated...my computer died and I now need to use this lame...dell...pc....hate hate hate.

Not much kntting knews this time around, except that I gave my pencil-case hat to mu cousin Ruby :P and am planning to make a pretty new one.

college is a bit crazy...and for our amrican readers, college is grades 11 and 12 here, and runs sort of like a mini-university. I love my IT class, and have to kind of help teach teh class at times :/ teh teacher changes so much we no longer have one who actually knows HTML *unimpressed*. I have learnt to hate Divs with a great passion, as well as beat them into submission and turn them into my bitch! *shakes fist*

Cold weather is making my joints go nuts so not much knitting is being done. But a great oppertunity to show up kitted-opjects! Woot! I spend much of my time in my bed with the electric blanket on :P

Oh and this long weekend we are going to SYDNEY! Well the brther type creture has already headed up, me mum and dad are going on sunday! BIG CONERT WOOO!! At leats for me and the brother being! Shihad! Cog and fort!!! *happy excited jenny*

what else is new...oh yes the wool fest! that was super fun, we even got reconized by someone because of Lulu! how cool? i also got 500grams of merino fleece :D *spins around*

well i didnt sleep last night, and today was pretty hectic and not very pleasant, so thats all from zombie jenny for now!

So, at the SnB at the club last night, i came to realize..PEOPLE ACTUALLY READ MY BLOG....so im going to try a little harder to post more. Weather this will work or not is a different story.

now in essence of knitting, ive updated my pattern. so like, check it out :P

my stat counter has been telling me ive been getting well and truly over 200 visits, even over 300 one day. Its crazy! woot for jenny *does a small dance*

and now....cute stuff.

Lily is the most photographed thing in the house. Understandably so, she is after all, ridiculously cute.

Like any self respecting knitter, I have modified the pattern to what I want. Instead of the SUPER PRETTY CRAZY MIND MELTING cables up the arm, I have decided (with advice from Mother God) to just continue with the cuff pattern. I'm very pleased with how it looks, even if you can't see the stitch definition very easily in the pictures :P

Its a big post this time around folks...i have lots of stuff..pictures i might not post *here* but i will post on..my website :O

thats right folks the long awaited "demon designs" isfinally starting...

you see we are learning HTML at school...so of course i came home and am about 1000 x ahead of my class just by learning on my own. I even learnt how to use an FTP (file transfer protocol) program thingy and my friend GAVE me a url thingy! He said he got a large one for his friends to use but none ever do, so i have my own spot on his server :3 he has also been a bit like a tutor, its cool cos its just on MSNN hehe.

dont worry mum u are still.going to be my MAIN tutor and guide when it come to HTML ;3

so here we go...hmm i can use HTML on here cant i?

Im knittng again... like lots. i know its hard to believe , but its true.

Im working on my jumper again, i have been commissioned to make a where's wally beanie, for a friend called, yep, wally. So im thinking a red, ribbed brim, long enuf to fold up....mmm any ideas?

Listening to cast on again too, much fun. Reading Small Godds, by Terry Pratchett, slowly :P

feeling that need to knit so many things, and feeling like there isn't enough time! in the day, week, months, year!!! eep.

anyway, trying to finish this sweater/jumper, so i can put it on when im cold, because thats what it will be for :P

Some of you may already know about this....but there IS such a thing...as mini sheep!

Their official name is Olde English Miniature Babydoll Southdown Sheepp....a big name for a small sheep. Their fleece is a short staple, but also fine...plus they are so cute!

thats my story so far...with cute pictures... Oh yeah , i have looked at a few information websites, and www.mylittlesheep.com is a pretty good site, according to me anyway...i have many many more pictures that will appear over time :P i like how their little faces look like Lulu. I am still looking around for a sign of a breeder in Australia :P

Thins I have learnt lately about knitting and stuff.!

- Knitting finger less gloves is harder than i thought.

- knitting and reading lace patterns is easy and fun :PP

- the spinning wheel is much easier than a spindle., and it is just as fun :PP

- college is very tiering

- the theater director dude at my college is an old friend :P lol

knitting knews~

knitting 4 socks at the moment, two of which are with yarn i have dyed.

knittting some scalfs as well, one is just some cute yarn andone with hand spun

still working on jumper, almost up to decresses for arm holes for the back pice

making me some new cat years.

oh and still have a bajillion other projects OTN im not working on much.

i havnt been knitting much due to really bad joint pain, not just the heat.

just got test results from a glutose tollerance test i did yesterday...and well...just... Fuck. Diabeties is highly probable right now. I will see doc tomorrow to see what the answers mean.

drugs i have been on for 3 months have done basically nothing. increasing dosage.

all this week except Friday i have some form of docters appointment.
