He was a prodigiously talented guitarist and in his late teens joined up with his friend Marty Friedman, creating the excellent speed metal band Cacophony. With one excellent(Speed Metal Symphony) and one okay(Go Off!) album release, Jason then released an excellent solo album(Perpetual Burn). After a short stint with David Lee Roth, Jason was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or Lou Gherig's disease.
