I was wondering if I have ever reached the 1001 lifts on my travels. I started off by counting the lifts I got on my travel journeys. Today, I don´t remember how many lifts I had ever gotten in my life. Surely, I havent broken the record, too many others have. But was a good experience.

Thinking back about my many trips, I was remembering some situations and realising:

Every lift you get is unique, just like every person you meet.

And so are their stories.

Their backgrounds.

The lifes they lead.

Every face you see is different.

Some of them will be remembered forever, some not.

Your story will always remain your unique true and ONLY one though.

Well, usually I know what they are writing about.. they will write some travel stories, health tips and recipes “stay slim over x-mas and new years, but still indulge”. Stuff like that.

You surely understand my sarcasm about people reading these things and understanding that magasines write the same stuff all the time.. Anyway. I found an article about new years resolutions and why they never work. I personaly NEVER take new years resolutions.. because, I know they dont work. There are other measures if you want to change behaviour, it doesent coincide the date...

Anyway, I had a look at the article which in generally speaking said that:

Over 50% of the people wish to achieve the following things next year.

less stress

more time for loved ones

lose weight

I couldn`t finish the article unfortunately as my physiotherapist called me for going inside her office. But, I kept thinking about it. Thinking about how I could make a business helping them. How can we help these people? There is obviously a big demand for more time, relaxing and avoiding stress. But people dont know how to manage. And I cannot make a day include 30 hours..

I told my physiotherapist about this. She replied that if people worked less, they would achieve all the 3 in one go. They just want to earn too much money, if they could accept to earn less , the could have such a full life. And she is so right!!! Here is her link if you want to book her

So, my friends : Imagine this scenario:

You will work less hours and earn less money.

What would that bring? By doing so, you will have more time to:

workout

go for long walks in the forest

play with your kids, pets, etc

See your friends more often

Have more time to cook healthy food

→ Doesent that seem like a good life to lead?

You would be more relaxed, eat better and be fitter. According to our friend here, Doctor Mike Evans Watch the awesome video!

the most, I repeat MOST important, single best thing to do for your health is: exercise!!! Yep, I know. Nothing new..

Think about it and make it happen. I´m going for a walk now, the second today. It won´t cost me anything but I will benefit from it. And then I will indulge in my selfmade – still warm – breadrolls. Mmmmmmmmmhhhh

and, yes you will hate me for writing it. Enjoy, im curious to see the comments and reactioins...

You cannot get rid of hunger by eating money, can you? Neither by drinking gas... and what will you do once the ATM doesent spit out money anymore for you??? You will be LOST. Oh my god..

The other day, some dude on the street with good clothes asked us for help. in fact was Saturday night and we were on the way to a party.

He said "they stole my harddisk and now i need to get to Berne. (10pm at night) I got a train ticket, oh... no,... actually i dont have a ticket... can you pay me a ticket?"

I replied.: Hitchhike! He thought i would fool him. I told him "i hitched all the way to the russian border from here once and across europe" ... he felt even more fooled and got angry...so we drove off.... Poor guy. cannot organise his life witout money and his computer.

I am very sorry for all of you, who are unable to live without money, who are incapable of leaving your "custom thought pattern"governed by dollars. Governed by your worldview considering them as god-given. It is not. You only grew into it. You grew into that system and because you don´t know anything else, its very normal that you belive that nothing else exists.

What?? You dnt get it? If you dont get the message: go and do some shopping to get rid of these crazy thoughts that I am posting here. It´s better for you.

Since I am an official student again now, I wanted to write something about my daily feeling as a student.

I:

- enjoy to do my groceries on a weekday at 11am or 2pm. Ahhh not many people around, loads of space, and no long queues..No elderly blocking the way (because they already done the shopping at 8am or will do them at 5pm when everybody else does or they are at home eating lunch)

- love to plan my day on my own. I can decide myself if I want to sit in the lecture or if i want to read, write or work during that time. The only thing that matters is : i HAVE to study. at some point.

- never have to deal with an anrgy boss: because I AM MY OWN BOSS. haaaaa haaaaa!

- do work harder than somebody who has a 9-5 job, because: i work 7 days a week.. yep. Consider I am writing this at 1am, after a 7 hours shift at my "second" job...wow imagine a life with 2 full days off AND all evenings off.. What a life!

- have to read a book per week to follow one single seminar. One seminar.. That is nothing, consider the rest of the tasks / assignments.. Oh sorry, did you think we are just doing nothing as students? Then you are obviously wrong here.. but I dont mind you continuing reading. Find out what we do all day long..

"oh dude, its not just sitting around in the grass talking and getting drunk at student parties " no. Yaun..

- I have to use the bike to travel from A to B. I use it to lessen my transport costs. I am actually only paying half of what I would pay if I took the bus from outside the house.. But Im so ambitioned, that I`d rather bike all the way.. its not possible sometimes because I wouln`t have enough time to get from lecture A in building F to lecture B in building G in a completely different part of town.

- often hear people say "i have no money" but they actually have 50000 in the bank.. Oh no, you are right, it´s nothing..

-got assignements to do: write papers, hold speaches, read books, write tests.. oh dear. Only 5 weeks left and so much work left. But the term only just becgun 2 months ago? At the same time i am somewhat happy that it will be over soon, 3.5 months of time for writing, reading books I wanted to read during the term and coudlnt manage,..summer time....

Wanna know more?
We are all running and stressing around often enough forgetting that we do need some time for ourselfs as well. It is a shame and i can truly recommend taking some time off every day for yourself and only yourself. No matter what you use, a run - the gym - getting a massage... do take that little extra 30mins a day to free your head and to look after yourself.

I've been doing these excersises several times now. They really give you the kick when you need some energy.

Yoga helps me to relax and leave all my daily sorrows away for a while. It helps me really to clear my head completely. If you can think of nothing else than only the pose you are doing right now, in the very moment you are doing it, then you have sucseeded! And the best thing: afterwards I am much more motivated and energized! Try it out!I would like you to participate in my joy:

1. Tara Stiles
The poses are very easy to learn and I like the way she is explaining what you need to do. It does go a little fast sometimes though. In that case you might need to pause the video.

2. Bealive Studio
I started with these poses first. After I had done them for the first tiime, I felt my energy level explode immediately. I couldn' t believe it myself. But they helped me alot. Notice thatthe poses are similar to video number 1. Unforuntately, nobody is talking in the video, so you dont know if you are doing the poses correctly.

Note: these videos are for free, you only pay with your time. :) Enjoy!

I joined Hubpages recently. Found that was really awesome. There, I can publish more articles easily and they are read by many more people. It is an easy platform for every writer and writer-to-be who wants to try something new.

Why should you try hubpages?
-> Because: you will get direct feedback immediately. That is the cool thing about it! You will get points on your articles and a score/rank of your profile compared to other "hubbers".
Additionally, hubpages is a huuuuuge source of quality articles. I found so many interesting articles there. Its worth browsing through really! Have fun!

My recent hot article about Couchsurfing:
Funny enough, they bring even more stuff home because the bought more along the way.

See how to avoid that:

I´ve seen backpackers out there who carry 20kg bags, wear them in an uncomfortable way and are therefore completely immobile. None of them has ever told me they would enjoy it! Please, dear reader, don´t go down that road, it´s unnecessary and your neck and back will hurt. Moreover carrying heavy bags will keep you from being mobile and move quickly.

I usually travel with my 36 litres backpack getting up to around 7-8 kilograms max. (It was 10 kilos on my last trip and I felt utterly annoyed. Never again...) It is small enough for being hand luggage - dimensions: 55/30/20cm on many airlines and big enough for everything you need. That way I can walk around a town with my backpack on me at all times. Hey, I never need to bother about lockers.. That means: another 3-5 Euros saved I can use for making some nice food for my hosts/friends. And it´s so comfortable too, to have everything with you all the time. And that´s what you want. Especially as a hitch-hiker. You want and you NEED to be mobile. Have you ever seen a hitch-hiker with a trolley-luggage? Nope. You should be able to carry everything AND have your hands free.

Go here start learning about packing lightly
I am well aware of that...

Knowledge is power. However, knowledge can be doom too.

Once I know how things in this world work, it gives me a certain advantage for steering my life. The more I know, the better choice I will make.

If I know that alcohol is bad for my liver, I will try to avoid it. If I know that too much meat will lead to heart desease and an ealry death, I will avoid it or find ways to avoid it. Even more so, if I know that meat productioin takes up so much resources that grain production becames nearly impossible. Grain is the source of nutrition for most people in the world but due to the meat production gets less and less. Therefore prices rise and the less fortunate people cannot afford it anymore. (What will they eat?)
If i know that the woman who sewed this fancy T-shirt in Bangladesh is forced to work 15 hours a day, 7 days a week to make ends meet, i will avoid buying such items. If I know that the gardener who by spreading all the pesticides on this piece of fruit risks his life and health for us every day, I will try to avoid such nutritions. Not only for his sake but also for mine.

I could go on forever listing things here. However, the important question here is this one though:
How can we solve these complex problems? The injustice and the constant manipulation of our own thoughts?

Are we even capable of solving them? Sure thing that mankind created them. My thrive to solve these problems might be too big a task, too big to grasp the complexity of world exonomics, politics and ethics.
Are there solutions for this? OR do we need to create tools for solving it first? But even if we can come across with some solutions, are we capable of imposing them? Who wants to cut back on all these nice comforts: car, gas, electricity, meat, cheap clothes, heating, computers, cinemas, bars? I know wht many are thinking: The others!
So we keep drifting along, dismiss the problems, keep discussing them, wasting time instead of acting. I don´t know the solution myself, but I want to know.

Or is the solution simply a big crash to "solve" our problems by eradicating evil mankind?

Knowing all this, thinking that there is no possible solution makes "knowing" even more painful. Go ahead and live happily ever after in ignorance or keep living with the powerlessness.

So when I hitchhike, I keep telling myself "The nice people will stop and pick me up".
The others don´t. It doesent really matter where I stand and how long I wait, because I know for sure, a friendly person will stop. I don´t mind waiting and I stay calm and reassured. Because I know that at some point somebody will be sent to me. These somebodies are often people who did hitchhiking too when they were younger and impress me with their stories.

I strongly recommend you to ask them about their experiences. The other day i was so surprised about a whoman who picked me up. She looked a bit sophisticated almost bourgeois and told me about her middle-america to Feuerland trip - all by bike - when she was in her twenties. I was flabergasted. And she is an alternative practitionner for animals. You??? And I thought I was different.

Life is full of surprises, they can come any time and any day... be careful not to let them pass. Sometimes its hard to see them clearly infront of you. Something new for you here. I would like to share my insights with you. I am not telling you how to life your life. Oh no, I don´t have the right to judge anybody except myself. This is only something I would like to share with other people.

The 4 things to avoid in life:

Mediocricy
Big thing and very easily slip into it. You have got your job and home, friends, hobby.. you are settled and feel ok, but just ok. Things are smooth and you like your daily routine.. But sometimes you think: hmmm something is missing but what? There you have it! It might be that you are living the mediocricy life.

You could do better in your job, can you? You could be better in your hobby, could you? You could have a house/flat you really like and not just accepted because you got used to? You could wear nicer clothes and look better if you really wanted to? You could get a better boyfriend for sure. Yesss... but mediocricy has become so comfortable in your life, right?

Procrastination
I have never been a procrastinator myself in all my life. Therefore it always struck me whenever my path crossed with one. I just couldn´t believe how a person could put off meetings, things to do or daily routine like cleaning or washing or just anything. I normally just walked away from these people. If I´ve got an idea, I´ll do it right away. Period.

Do you dream of a change for the better in your life?
Set your goals first. So the ultimate goal basically is just to avoid wasting time. How often do you set goals? And what are they? Do they go like "make more money" or "become happy". It´s a rubbish goal because it will never occur. These are just wishes. A goal should be something like that "I want to loose 5 kilos within the next 3 months" Be precise and then think about how to reach it. For example "I will go to the gym 3 times a week and only eat sweets on a sunday".

Write down the goals for the next 6 months/year/5years and 10 years. Review them once a month, the long term ones twice a year. Start your day early and try to get everything done before noon. You won´t imagine how relieved you feel once everything is done! Then write a "do to" listfor the next day once you are done with your daily work.

Regrets
Shoulda, coulda, woulda...? You are thinking too much. The past is the past and you cannot change it. Yes, we have all been there and made mistakes. HOWEVER, you made the mistakes for learning. Don´t be afraid to make mistakes. We´ve been there and done it too. Too much thinking and questioning myself and what I have done. It´s just a waste of time. Relax.. You cannot turn back time you can only move forward.

Recently I saw this greeting card at the post office (really, the last place to find such a great insight). It said: Life can be narrowed down to one simple and whonderful sentence: It always moves forward.

Instability
Instability is the most succesfull recipe for hitting rock bottom. How to get stability?

I placed this big word here and realised myself that its not so easy to know what stability is and where it comes from. Is it a home? A job? Your annual long-waited-for holiday? Acheaving your goal? Friends? Family? Or all together maybe?

What I can say is that following your own pace in life, your goals and dreams will give you stability. You will gain stability by stopping procrastination, mediocricy and regrets. Stability should be the ultimate goal you strive for in life. That´s why It takes a lifetime to become the best we can possibly be!
Welcome. I would like to tell you why I like dogs.

I love it when a dog shows your attention and shows that it likes you. Look them into their eyes and it will not only see deep down inside your soul, but you will also see it´s emotions. Dogs cannot talk, therefore they express their emotions by barking, tail wagging, looks and exageration when they are happy. When you take the leash, your dog knows exactly that you are going to take him for a walk, take a look at what he is doing. I have never seen any other animal expressing this overwhelming happyness and exitement than a dog. It will jump up and down, bark and run around, wig its tail... Ahh I love dogs. And the dog does me good too when i can walk with it. Its good for me because i can exercise and I am outside.

Dogs are always true, loyal and never stop loving you once they do love you. If they love you, then the will love you forever,. Unlike humans.
Dogs will never disappoint you. Unlike humans.
Your dog will never say "no, i dont feel like going for a walk today" unless he is seriously ill and cannot walk. Even if your dog is sick, it will still want to go for a walk with you and be right next to you all the time.

I like dogs for cuddling them and giving them my love. I know love will come back from them to me. Isn`t it the best thing to cuddle your hairy monster and to feel its wet tongue on your cheek? Dogs are a great gift and I am very happy that god created these lovely creatures.

In memory of my best friend: Appa. I will love her forever, just like she loves me.
Intentional missing, because you deliberately want to cause the consequences. We choose to take the next one, or none at all.

Sometimes we miss trains, busses, planes accidentally. We had planned to catch it, however it didn`t work out.

A chain of things can happen due to either of them. And we are porbably not even aware of that in the very moment. That all comes much later, when we think about what really happened.

The difference is this: Do you sometimes regret not having taken that tramway on the rainy summers evening...

Remember back when this happened to you...
...the air was filled with that dusty smell coming from the warm water drops that hit the concrete. You took a deep breath and felt somehow ambivalent, you felt a little chilly... and also some disappointment inside you. Then you turned around, and walked into the other direction.

Thankfully came today.

Thank you for coming rain. We really missed you. Thanks to you, the grass will become green again, the flowers get to drink somoething, the heat will be gone and the pollen are being washed away.

Nobody thanks you for coming, which is such a shame. We tend to complain that it`s cold now but hey there will be so many hot days coming. I enjoy it if it`s not too hot for a change. Its a bit of a mistery to me now when i think back of how i was able to cope with 45 deg in Alice Springs. I remember it was too hot to move. I walked a couple of meters and then just went into the next shop to cool down in the aircondition. Then the next couple of meters were tackled. It felt like burning my sking and eyes. At night i dipped into the pool that had a refreshing 39 degrees... And hey, when we went up to Standley Chasm it started to RAIN!!! So i saw the rare thing in the desert: Rain. Would have loved to see Uluru in rain too.

I remember how it felt when i lived in Cairns in the rain season. Yep i lived there in dry AND in rain season. It rained for 3 weeks without a stop. It is warm rain and it does make no difference if you are standing in the rain or inside a house. You feel wet anyway, all he time, day and night... The back yard was flooded, for crossing the street you needed to wade throught knee-deep water first. That was because the streets surface is roundish, so the water does not stay in the middle of the street. That way you can avoid aquaplaning, well, if the water drains were still working ok. At times there was just too much water to handle... It was an adventure.

Thank you rain, you can stay for some days, I like your visit.

See you soon
The backpackers and tourists.

I can see them on every corner of the street carrying their 20kg backpacks around.

They seem to be coming directly from a survival training in the bush. They actually just got off the ICE from Munich..

Their backpacks are not porpperly worn, never been adjusted to their back. It must be some kind of "cool" thing amongst youngsters to do that. Im a looser if i wear it comfortably. Outside of the backpack, there is the sleeping mat and sleepingbag attached. What happens to the sleepingbag and mat in case of rain?

They come in groups of 3 to 6 and are seemingly having a great time. Yeah... Backpacking Europe. Slept in a hostel in Stockholm, Berlin and Amsterdam, saw all of Europe and had a great time cooking Heinz canned spaghetti in the hostel.

They might come alone and tell you about their Europe in 4 weeks tour... This time taking it SLOWLY. If you ask them where they had been so far they will answer you: Barcelone, Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid, Amsterdam, Munich... all that in 2 weeks. Seriously!

They will travel by some european rail pass I have never heard of or would ask me details about it. What the hell do I know about trains? Just one thing right now: do not enter in summer because: no aircondition,
danger of death.

They will complain how expensive Switzerland (insert any other high-priced country in Europe) is. However they wont say they would go to Germany/Spain/Eastern Europe because they cannot afford.

They will ask directions to the hostel. Oh I know that one. *Proud*

They will enquire about "what to do in town X" altough the lake is right there. Sun, hot, lake, you are backpacking..... any ideas??? No? Think harder...

They will ask about Interlaken. I don`t know whats so good about Interlaken, do you?

The female backpackers will complain and make a gesture towards their belly saying "thats all the bread we ate, we should have cooked propper meals". I`m quite sure it was the beer though..

They will ask me if its safe to drink the water from the tap, gorging down alcohol and fast food. No dude, its poisonous..

Ahh, Im enjoying to lie in the green grass next to the Katzensee, continue reading my book about the Little Prince. In the evening I`m riding home on my bike, watching the stars and taking a deep breath of the warm summer night.
Their shape and texture is a masterpiece of creation. When i approach the berries in the shop, i can smell them even with head wind. They are everywhere, all around me, in my mind and finally: in my mouth.

The entire shop smells of strawberries and all the other berries on offfer now... ahhhh!!! I could buy them all.

Smells are highly important in a human. We all memorise things and experiences with smells. We cannot actively remember smells, but when we encounter the same smell again, we will remember what we were doing when we were connecting that situation to the smell. That happens even after a long time. I remember i was isung Nivea plain body lotion at the time i was visiting Sweden for the first time (about 20 years ago). I was using the body lotion there too after sunbathing. My mind connected the lotion with the swedish summer: strawberries, beach, sand, ocean, sun and ice cream. Whenever i smell Nivea Bodylotion nowadays, i can literally smell Sweden, and i feel like home. Mnnnnnnn!

As a new owner of my strawberries i carried them home, washed them and tried them instantly. The outcome was terrible. They tasted wishy-washy! Used to the great strawberries of Norway i ask to myself: Where is all the sweetness gone? Now i understand what norwegians meant when they said "norwegian strawberries are the best".

They were right. After all.

-> Do you like strawberries? Please comment!

Come to Norway!

Well, i have been here for quite some time and the first thing i noticed was that vegetable quality is very very low.

Firstly, when I go to grocery shops and look out for the vegetable section, i already get disappointed there. The section is tiny and all you can find is: cabbage, potatoes, maybe broccoli and carrots. If you are looking for something special, it will involve some work.

Secondly, the quality of these vegetables are horrible. You can only buy them half rotten! For instance mushrooms: a rare thing to find some white ones in the first place that look halfway ok. We often buy broccoli here and unless you use it the same day, it will be yellow the very next one.

It seems to me that Norwegians have never heard of "ecological" food. Nothing i see in the stores is ecologically grown.

Saying that, i must admit, i might be a bit spoiled. I am used to the huge fresh produce section of Switzerlands supermarkets. There is more than one choice of the same item, normal and ecological. The section is huge and the produce just couldnt be any fresher. I am more used to open-air farmers markets and Turk-Veggie Shops, and he he: my own garden!

Could it be that nobody eats vegetables here? I guess it must be so, because the people i have seen here and seen eating only know potatoes and possibly, but not necessarily, one portions of vegetables a day. I wish to rant about Acer.

Once upon a time... many many years ago i bought an Acer Laptop. It was great back then but today, its old and doesent function very well anymore. Even after a complete new setup, it just wont do more than simple email tackling. Thats fine, i can still use it for emergency.

So, i bought myself one of these fancy netbooks. Got recommended Acer several times, however i was reluctant to buying another Acer since i was not too happy with that Acer i had back then. I was seriously considerating a MAC, but the many recommendations just took me along on that other path. Thinking well MAC still are too big and too expensive. No MAC netbook available... Ok, even that wouldnt make a real point, but i just hate using Mac. Im no good with MAC.

I took many weeks to think about which product should suit me best, read may reviews about netbooks and Laptops. Finallly, the Netbook won because of my lifestyle. Eventually, Acer won again, because - once again - i got recommendet it inside the very store. The salesman said this Acer would be the most powerful one to buy for me, the rest would just be too slow for what i am using it for. Allright, finally gave in. Acer you won!

I spent 3 fabulous months with my baby Acer. Ohhh the good old days. I miss them. It would work fantastically and i was realy satisfied. Indeed a very fast machine for a netbook. And it never let me down. Until then:

Only 3 months later when i took a week-end trip to Oslo for relaxing and writing - it switched itself off. And off again. And off and off. My mood switched off too as well at the same time.

2 days later, i handed it in for repairs. That is now been 3 weeks. No sign and no phone call from the company, and just too much to bear. I knew it Acer, you let me down. All the good moments we had together in these 3 months? Gone. Within a glimpse of an eye.

Thats it Acer, im done with you! Next time, definitely will be a MAC. Ha!

But, one good thing came out: i really learned Norwegian!.. and as sarcastic as it sounds, i am writing this article on a MAC right now...

Acer lost, MAC won. Call me in.

It was like that...

What is a proletarian actually?

It´s a person who is offering his workforce to make a living. Members of the "working class" are forced to trade their workforce to secure a living. They are investing time and energy for money.

I like this explanation, but my question here is: aren't we all doing that? Proletarians or not?

I used to work fr an advertisement company placarding the entire city. I chose to do this "lower" form of work because i like to choose my working hours myself. I was informing people about concerts to visit. I found out that it is not that easy to find advertising space out there. All the good spots are already taken. It is amazing how flooded we are by all this information outside. Ride in the tram/bus/train and consciously take in what you are seeing. There is advertisement wherever you look. Any bus/tram and train stop is included here. And beleive me these spaces cost money, it´s not for free. Everyboy wants a piece of the cake!

Back to me putting up the posters throughout the city. It was really hard for me to find a shop/bar who allows me to put advertisement for free. Look at it this way: I advertised for a company and the shop/bar owner did not get anything in return from me personally, apart from a short talk maybe, which often happend. And i really enjoyed these talks. They were most valuable.

As i often say "nothin is for free in this world". Some things still are but you will only accidentally stumble upon them.

Total amount of money spent that night: 5 CHF for a drink in the pub.

Note: 1 drink was offered by a nice young fella who didnt take my talking too seriously, 1 drink not offered by another less nice young fella who did take my talking too seriously, but who gave me something immaterial letting me think about this very topic! Now what gave me more for my life: the coke that was finished within 20 mins or the discussion?

I already miss my dogs but i like the city vibe.

Its only 12 degrees outside, half rainy, but it obviously doesent get any warmer than this here, because everybody is dressed in shorts, t-shirts, skirts and even sandals and flip-flops... Me - silly tourist from the south - freezing to death, wearing 10 layers and kind of wanting to put my gloves on. when i sat in the bus in the afternoon, i realised that the aircondidion was on..... aircondition??? What about heating man?

I feel like buying a warm jacket and i wish i had brougth my winter down jacket with me. I was actually thinking about bringing it before i left, but i thought it would be silly to carry it around on the way back..

So, guess i am going to hit the road now to the shops now... before i am going to the "summer" party this afternoon... Going to an outdoor party in 12 degrees would never enter my head in Switzerland or any other country.. Stay tuned for more stories.

I am back. Yet another walk with the dogs is done! This is my baby Odin... hes only 18months and making huge progress. He was owned by somebody else in the first year who couldnt handle him and he is really really powerful. He knocked me down on more than one occasion. But now he is finally starting to obey and follow me.

Im in my hut here, my own house with kitchen and even a couch! Its great and i am spending most of my time with the dogs. Right now 5 "adults" and 7 puppies.

Allright, time for another walk, stay tuned!
