I know it's been a long time since I updated. I've been busy with my thesis project (yes I've drawn all my figure drawings, I just haven't had time to update), my thesis paper, graduation, packing, moving, unpacking, and looking for jobs in California.

Yes, I moved to California last week. So awesome.

Also, my thesis project was a success, I received an A on my piece. So thanks to everyone who supported my extensive project. I am also super sorry I haven't updated in a while.

Anyways, I promise to continue this on going project on Monday. I'm settled in, and now I'm looking for a regular job (like clerical or customer service) so I can focus on my portfolio.

It's Canceled Class Day!

My Digital Imaging class was canceled today, so I decided to post some sketches up.

Anyways, I'm going to use my "Canceled Class Day" to finish up my final drawings for my character design class. We're suppose to create a character, and write a synopsis about it. The project includes a character turn-a-round, facial expressions, and all that jazz. I'm 80% done with my drawings. Once I'm done, I'll ink them, and put them in a snazzy package to pitch for clients (mainly my character design class).

Nothing much is happening today. It's raining, which totally sucks. I almost got my hair wet. At least I get to stay home and draw.

Here are sketches from January. I have A LOT more to post. No seriously, it's A LOT! Like seriously, I have a shopping bag full of sketches in my room. It's insane. That's why I haven't posted in a while. I wanted to focus more on my sketches, instead of posting on my blog. It's been a success. LOTS of sketches.

So I'm thinking about slamming my bag full of sketches on the desk during my work in progress presentation in Senior Show Class (the class where we prepare our thesis).

You know, for presentation purposes.

Anyways, it's "Me Fridays". I love "Me Fridays."

So what is "Me Fridays", you ask. Well, is the day when I either catch up on my blog, draw, or clean up my apartment. There is no boyfriend, friends (besides my roomies), or school. Just me, the tv, and my labtop. I like "Me Fridays", because it keeps me sane, and my boyfriend loves it when I'm sane.

No, believe me, he does.

Well, I'm done typing. Time for "Me Fridays".

The title should tell you that I'm trying to survive a snowy hell. I could rant about how cold it is, and how it took 30 minutes for my boyfriend and I to literally carve out his car from a sheet of ice. But, I'm too lazy.

So here are day 5 of week 2 sketches. Day 6 and 7 should be up today or tomorrow. Then I'll start on week 3 and 4 sometime this week.

Seriously, it is so hard to concentrate and draw when you're constantly coughing all over the place. In addition, it hurts when I cough. Well, today my coughing has calmed down a bit, and I'm hope I'll feel better tomorrow. I would like to get my energy back so I can draw nonstop this week. I need to catch up on my drawing since I had to focus on my health.

Eck.

At least my loving boyfriend took care of me. I don't know what I'll do without him.

Got a New Scanner and a Cold

So, good news I bought a portable scanner for $99.00! Bad News, I'm coughing up a lung.

Well, not really. But, I am very sick, and had to call off work. I didn't think coughing on pizza was a good idea (I work at Sbarros at my school). Since I was sick, I decided to scan the rest of week 2 sketches on my fancy dancy new scanner. It's super fast, and super portable. I love the fact that I can scan directly on a SD card instead of my PC.

Yah, for my scanner! Boo, for my cold...

Anyways, the rest of the sketches of week 2 will be up today. In addition, week 3 and 4 will be posted throughout next week. Then I'll have all of January's sketches up.

I Want a Kick Ass Scanner!

Yah, I've finally had time to update last week sketches. Don't worry, I'm not slacking off on my thesis, I've just haven't had time to update my blog. I've started to realize that completing my sketches are more important than updating my blog. So here are the first batch of week 2 sketches. The rest of the drawings will be posted sometime today and tomorrow. Also, week three sketches will be posted sometime this week. So tune in to a lot of updates.

So why am I taking too long with updates?

Well, I can say it's work and school, but honestly it's my scanner. Trying to scan and load up 100 sketches is time consuming, and my scanner totally sucks balls. One day I've get an awesome scanner that scans multiple pictures at once.

Now for a crazy story.

Last week I was awoken to a crazy man and my boyfriend at 3:30 a.m. Basically, some crazy dude on the second floor of my apartment was screaming like a lunatic. I was still asleep. Well, until my boyfriend woke me up, and told me he heard a gun shot.

Yes, a gun.

Right below my apartment.

Great.

Well it could have been worst. The crazy man could have gotten in my apartment.

Here are a new batch of gesture drawings from last night. I don't think they are the best, but I'm glad I had time to complete 14 sketches last night.

Nothing new. Just wasting time as I wait for my last semester of college to start. I'm excited and scared about graduation. I'm wondering how the hell I'm going to make a living. Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not going to move back in with my parents. I also have a post grad blueprint that's been planned out this past year. Yet, I don't know. I'm scared. I'm not sure if I'm going to be successful or not.

I just hope I have a job in California or something.

I know one thing.

I am so sick of this snow in Indiana!

Here are the gesture drawings from last night. The sketch that's featured today is one of my favorite gestures this week.

I've been watching a lot of tv this week. I've never watched so much tv in one week. I feel lazy. Once school starts, I'm not going to watch any tv.

OK, that's a lie. However, I am so done with it. Plus I have a thesis and job to worry about. Have you seen Hoarders? It's a hot mess of tv crap (or goodness). I'm not sure if the network that runs the show is trying to educate viewers about an illness in America, or is capitalizing on it.

Whatever.

I'm just done with tv.

Mankind Vs. My Drawings

Here are a new batch of gesture drawings from last night. This whole week will be dedicated to gesture drawings. Next week I'll have more detailed figure drawings. The week after that I'll draw a week worth of hands.

Nothing new today, but I am excited that V is back on tv. It's a television show about aliens taking over the world. It's a typical mankind vs. everything else (aliens, zombies, reality tv) type of show.

FYI, I watched Hoarders last night, and oh my God! I wonder what people from other countries think of Americans when they watch this horrible crap.

Well, actually I know what they think, and it's not good.

Oh well...

Anyways, My loving boyfriend went to Walgreens, and bought me some drugged induced tea known as Theraflu. The medicinal tea knocked me out last night, and now I feel much better.

So, here are the new batch of sketches. Today's sketches are gesture drawings (my boyfriend participated as my model). I tried to have fun with them, and really push an exaggerated dynamic pose. I think some of these gestures are successful.

Let's just say having to go to work, classes, and attempt this massive personal project is a one of a kind hassle. However, I'm so happy I've created this project, and would like to continue it.

So, how will I do it?

Well, this project is going to be part of my thesis to graduate from college.

Yes, this crazy project will now be included in my thesis (along with a professional portfolio of my best work). So now I have no choice but to sketch 100 drawings per week. Oh dear, my grade is on the line. Time to get crackin' with sketches.

I've been seriously busy this past month. I just went through my second to last midterms. In addition, I've had at least 1 or two homework assignments due everyday. So, after much contemplation I've decided that I won't update my blog everyday. Due to classes and homework, it's impossible (it was easier in the summer due to obvious reasons). However, I have decided to update my blog on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. I will have 100 per week, but they will be posted on these days. I wished I had time, but alas, a girl must pass her classes.

Besides, I've been drawing (believe me, I have no choice), but I have to decide between doing my homework or scanning and editing for 2 hours.

I'm sorry, I disappeared on such a sour note. Classes can make you go stir crazy sometimes.

Anyways this past weekend, I went to this fabulous animation conference and film festival at IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis) known as VisionFest. The animated shorts were great, and the speakers were excellent. I also gained helpful information on visual storytelling.

Afterward, me and my man went to go see Hereafter. It was a great movie. However, I gained a hunger headache from not eating for a long period of time.

Urg, sometimes I have to tell myself to take care of my body.

Seriously, I am so tired. I only had four hours of sleep, and only one cup of coffee. I still have to write a paper and complete a lab assignment for my Earth Science class.

Urg!

Sometimes I feel like I sacrifice my health to keep my head above water at college. I have lost so much sleep and turned to so many unhealthy alternatives to stay awake (5 hour energy drinkathons) during my tenure as a college student. I so better get a job when I graduate.

This college shit better be worth it.

Sorry, I'm currently listening to Nicki Minaj.

I had to go to work, attend three classes, and complete a ton of homework. Shit, it's only the third week of school! I've been out of my apartment since 9:20 a.m, and I just came back at 9.30 p.m. Sad, right?

Anyways, today sketches feature quick sketches that range from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. I hope you guys like them. I've been trying to make my poses more dynamic. Currently, I am borrowing the book from my animation teacher. It's a book on drawing for animation. Sooner or later I'll buy the book. It's seriously useful.

Nerds are Sports Fans too

You guys are probably thinking where that nerdy bitch (oxymoron?) run off too. Sorry my dear followers, I wasn't near a scanner this weekend. However, I do have new sketches up today. There is an assortment of character designs (finally right) from my story boarding class, gestures, and what not.

Well, this past weekend I was off at a Norte Dame football game (FYI, Norte Dame kicked Purdue's ass), and the next day I went to my boyfriend's nephew's baptism. You guys are probably thinking nerds are not associated to football, or any kind of sports. Many people thinks nerds are allergic to athletics or something. Well, that's just a one dimensional view of nerds. Let's face it, Michael Phelps is as nerdy as they come (nerds smoke pot too). Some nerds like sports (some are hell bent fans). For example, my boyfriend is a loyal Norte Dame fan. Were as, I am a loyal White Sox Fan (I look down on Cubs fans).

Nerds are two dimensional, douche bags are not (just kidding).

I think I'm killing my scanner. Every so often I would have to unplug it to get the damn thing to work again. Maybe I'm overworking it, or it's old. Yeah, it's old.

Time to put my scanner down. You know, like a dog.

Anyways, today's sketches (and the rest of the week) feature female figures. Sorry, I'm not plugging a book today. Next week, I'll have male figures.

Here are the new batch of sketches. Most of these sketches feature nude models that are referenced from Art Models 4 by Maureen and Douglas Johnson. Reference books are a great resource to practice the human figure.

Book plug: complete.

Today was a seriously long day. I was out of my apartment from 8:45 a.m - 8.30 p.m. In addition, I messed up two lattes, and I forgot to put the top on the blender (I had to clean that damn thing up...) I am hopelessly clumsy. Urg! I am so glad my day is over.

At least I ate dinner with my favorite man today. He even wore my favorite color today.

I currently work at a coffee shop, and I actually like my minimum wage job. I even bought a coffee maker today.

Crazy.

Yeah, yeah, I know I'm totally late on submitting sketches this past week. It was the first week of school. I seriously didn't have time to sketch this week. I've spent this whole week getting classes in order, buying books, supplies, and a coffee maker (I love my coffee maker). Don't worry, I HAVE to create the last 90 sketches this weekend. These sketches will be turned into my character design class. So, as my totally awesome friend says, "Go Go Gadget Drawing Arm!"

By the way, the nude models featured in this set of sketches are from Virtual Pose by Mario Henri Chakkour. It's an awesome reference book on nude models. So if you don't have access to a live nude model (I'm sure it's weird to ask your roommate). I highly recommend you buy this book.

So today I learned how to wipe up a blood spill (ketchup) during my job training today. I am now a woman. You are not a woman until you learned how to wipe up blood by practicing with ketchup. It's true.

I'm going to start working at the food services this week. Yah, servin' pizza, and making cash. Also, school starts this Monday. I'm so glad it's my final year. It's time to start looking at potential graduate schools.

Do you have a suggestion? I looking for schools related in illustration and character design.

Anyways, I'm going to work tomorrow. I'm so excited! I've been unemployed for the last two weeks, and it was horrible! God, it sucks to not have any money. I'm also going to Wally World (Goggle it), because all of my pencils are sharpened to the core. In addition, I seriously need to buy a sketchbook. I've been drawing on computer paper, because I'm poor, and well, in college.

Eck.

Speaking of college and finances. The one thing I've notice at my college is that the bursar office is much bigger than the financial aid office. What the hell man! There are like 2 people working in the front office of the financial aid office. Yet, the bursar office has like 6 or 7 people waiting to take our money.

So, not cool.

My Pooch Died :(

I'm sorry for not updating yesterday. I tried to, but I couldn't get over the fact my pooch of 8 years died the other day.

I know, sad.

He barked a lot (especially at night), and I couldn't train him probably (we were very successful with "sit"). Yet, overall he was a good dog. I will miss him very much.

My only regret is that he never got a chance to bone a poodle (or any dog). Hopefully, my boyfriend will let his puppy get some before the big snip.

Damnit, Nerds are Takin' Over the World...

Deal with it, douche bags.

I'm a big news junkie. I can't help it. Today I was watching Showbiz Tonight on CNN. One of the main topics was about how nerds are becoming the next big "thing" in Hollywood. For example their are more positive reviews for Scott Pilgrim than for the Expendables. In addition, Comic Con (in San Diego) is one of the biggest conventions in the US.

Well, suck it dumb ass athletes (and so called "bad boys"), nerds are becoming a commodity, and your rising star is falling suckers.

God, it makes me feel so good. Considering I was teased in elementary school for having an interest in books, cartoons, comics, and being athletically retarded.

So why are nerds in charge?

Well, in my opinion, America is a country about making the green. Technology is the new commodity, and you have to be smart for the tech business. Also, women (like me) are realizing most athletes are jerks and they would rather cuddle with a nice caring nerd.

O.K so not all athletes are jerks (no they are).
