The FCRA promotes the accuracy and privacy of information in the files of the nation’s consumer reporting companies. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, enforces the FCRA with respect to consumer reporting companies.

A credit report includes information on where you live, how you pay your bills, and whether you’ve been sued or arrested, or have filed for bankruptcy. Nationwide consumer reporting companies sell the information in your report to creditors, insurers, employers, and other businesses that use it to evaluate your applications for credit, insurance, employment, or renting a home.

Here are the details about your rights under the FCRA and the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions (FACT) Act, which established the free annual credit report program.

Q: How do I order my free report?

A: The three nationwide consumer reporting companies have set up a central website, a toll-free telephone number, and a mailing address through which you can order your free annual report.

To order, visit annualcreditreport.com, call 1-877-322-8228, or complete the Annual Credit Report Request Form and mail it to: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281. The form is on the back of this brochure; or you can print it from ftc.gov/credit. Do not contact the three nationwide consumer reporting companies individually. They are providing free annual credit reports only through annualcreditreport.com, 1-877-322-8228, and Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.

Visit www.101-credit-debt-finance.com for more info on Credit Reports.

The Surge of Media Debt Sales of $18.3 Billion Signal More Mergers

Signs of a recovering economy? I didn't understand how to use the card.

After all, the money withdrawn to pay for a transaction is instantly deducted from your checking account.

Keeping track can really be a challenge if you don't record your purchases.

I eventually got used to managing my money so I would not over spend. Let's face it, if all the money you have is in your checking account the misuse of your check card can easily start a series of overdrafts and create a big mess you don't want to be involved in.

Here are 4 terms you must be familiar with to avoid a disaster, they are:

Account overdraft

Blocking

Transaction limits

PIN versus signatures

I vaguely recognized these terms when I first read them myself so don't feel bad.

Here is an informative article on the subject of check cards.

Check it out here:

Beware debit card problems -- "...Overdrawing your checking account and hitting daily usage limits are just two problems."

Thanks for viewing,

Curtd

Don't forget to visit my website at www.101-credit-debt-finance.com

Can Brain or Spinal Injuries Be A Cause For Bankruptcy?

...Interesting link to brain and spinal injuries can cause bankruptcies.

This caught my attention as I never specifically thought that these types of medical conditions would cause bankruptcy, they just seem so unrelated.

But according to this article 3% of all brain or spinal injuries ended up in bankruptcy.

It's no wonder as the cost of medical treatment is sky high especially if you are without adequate health insurance. After that super great interview you're feeling on top of your game.

You're thinking you have aced that interview...said the right things to impress the interviewer. You know you'll be hired. You feel it in your gut...

Wait a minute, not so fast!

You see, there is one more important step after all the grueling interviews. They hand you a sheet of paper, a document that requests that they review your credit report. Of course at the bottom you sign off on and you request to get a copy of that report to.

The employer can determine that if your credit history show unusual spending patterns such on time or late payments. They can see how consistent are the lates. How many credit lines did you open, did you abuse these credit lines by not paying on time...

They can get into the psychology of their potential candidate.

If you look great in that history showing responsible actions in paying on time, you're probably an excellent candidate.

But if you are consistently late, have a terrible score and show that you have history of not paying your bills on time, don't bet on the farm that you'll get hired.

So what's the Secret Ingredient???...You guessed it.

Get current on your credit report.

So don't wait, do it now.

Thanks for viewing,

Curtd

BTW, here's how to grab your Free Credit report

Secrets to Pulling Gobs of Money Out of Thin Air!

How to Pull Money from Thin Air....

Yes this sounds like some sort of Houdini thing. But think about it for a moment, it can be done.

You see, if you are on a tight budget or need to be on a budget to save your money then a little creativity ('Thin Air') can save you quite a bit of your hard earned money.

I recently made a big purchase, I bought a new car. By the time I added the new car payment and increased car insurance....Ouch!

So...How much can you save??

well that's really up to you. I am on a tight budget so my mind is always thinking (your mindset) of ways I can cut back on my spending.

Now I only have only so much money left over for myself, which is not very much.

So what am I doing?

I have created a system that seems to be working for me. You should create a system that works for you too.

What I did was divided my left over living expenses into $30 units. For me it seems that $30 is the average expense I use, such as buying gas or going to the grocery or taking my son to the movies.

Now for you it might be different, you just need to find out your units of spending.

The idea behind this is to limit the number of units you spend each week.

Make a real goal and stick to it.

The other motivator is to review your check book and start dumping all the unnecessary things that you buy such as buying coffee at Starbucks, going to the movies every week or magazine subscriptions...You get the picture right?

By doing this you've created extra money out of thin air!

Remember, you've got to create a system and you got to start now.

Here is a great article to put things into perspective if you are seriously in the mindset to save money.

Check it out....

Cash slips between cracks -- Nearly half of Americans lose track of at least $2,340 each year.

Thanks for viewing,

Curt

BTW, for more ways to save money visit: 101-credit-debt-finance.com

Home Ownership in 2 Simple Steps

Although this might sound too good to be true the following article sheds light to anyone considering homeownership in today's housing market.

There are two important elements in considering buying your first home:

1) Know the condition of your credit history and score.

2) How much savings do you have.

Read this next article for details......

Repair, build credit before getting realtor, lender
Howard University The District Chronicles (subscription) - Washington,DC,USA
We pay $1250/month now in rent, we just paid off a few collections, have credit scores below 600 and very little savings.
