1010 Midtown recently received a Walk Score of 94 out of a possible 100. And, according to the Walk Score definitions, any community receiving a score between 90 and 100 is considered a “Walkers’ Paradise: Most errands can be accomplished on foot and many people get by without owning a car.”

With 1010 Midtown being the completed first Phase of 12th & Midtown, it doesn’t seem like there could be a better first retailer. Residents of the new Atlanta condos can literally just walk down to street level to get to the perfect store to furnish their urban condos. While CB2 is the first retailer for 12th & Midtown, it is definitely not the first tenant. CB2 joins join eateries such as Ri Ra Irish Pub & Restaurant, RA Sushi Bar Restaurant, Piola and Noon Midtown, as well as office tenants Seyfarth Shaw LLP and The Boston Consulting Group, Inc., in the mixed-use development.

The menu is complemented with the authentic Irish decor and staff - yes, staff. The owners of the Midtown Ri Ra have brought 10 native Irish men and women here on temporary visas in order to add to the ambiance of the pub.

And lastly, one can’t overlook the history of Ri Ra. The entire restaurant, for the most part, is made up of beautifully restored salvage artifacts and materials from old pubs imported from Ireland. One of the most notable pieces is probably the flooring, which is 100 years old and was created at the Belfast shipyard where Titanic was built. So, while feasting on your tasty lunch or dinner, be sure to notice all of the historical items that surround you.

Alright, let’s sum it up now - imported Irish furnishings, genuine Irish workers and authentic Irish cuisine basically means that for an hour or so, you get to visit Ireland without ever leaving Atlanta. And, for those that live at 1010 Midtown, you can visit Ireland without ever leaving home since the restaurant is basically located in the same building.

Needless to say Atlanta has been buzzing with the news since it was announced earlier this week. At the show, you can expect to hear Sir McCartney take you back through all of the songs that helped make him the icon he is today, which includes popular tunes from the Beatles and Wings.

The show is scheduled for August 15th and tickets are only $79.50. This is an incredible bargain considering tickets to see Sir Paul McCartney were selling for hundreds of dollars last time he came through Atlanta. Proceeds from the event go directly to the conservancy and the 53-acre expansion they have planned for the park as well as on-going maintenance.

Sir Paul McCartney coming to Piedmont Park is truly a once in a lifetime experience, and a great example of the extraordinary Atlanta events located within walking distance to 1010 Midtown. Think of how nice it will be for you knowing you don’t have to worry about parking or battling traffic once the concert is over. You don’t have to withstand the crazy MARTA mob that will be rushing the trains once the night comes to an end. The AJC interviewed Harold Shumacher, a local restaurant real-estate broker and president of the Shumacher Group about the opening of these new restaurants. Shumacher said, “The recession makes for a difficult time to launch a restaurant, but Midtown remains an attractive location.”

Shumacher also felt Atlanta’s many working professionals who are willing to walk to lunch make the new luxury Atlanta condos more appealing.

And walking to lunch they are. The owners of the restaurants that recently opened in 1010 Midtown are pleased with the traffic this prominent location has brought them.

1010 Midtown sees the success of these businesses as a confirmation that the luxury high rise will continue to experience great success.

The prominent location was the biggest draw for Scott Kilpatrick, co-founder of RA Sushi, one of the new restaurants that recently opened in 1010 Midtown. According to an article in the AJC, Scott didn’t have any regrets about opening a new restaurant despite the recession. It was 1010 Midtown’s  great location that made him feel secure.  The restaurant naturally has a high energy atmosphere boasted by lively music. This combination makes it a great place to start out the night before walking over to Crescent Avenue which already has a great nightlife. RA Sushi features deliciously fresh sushi rolls as well as a full menu of Pacific-Rim dishes.

Another great restaurant that opened  in 1010 Midtown is Noon Midtown,  a great gourmet sandwich shop which features sandwiches, soups, salads and pastries. For the Atlanta lunch crowd who feels discouraged by the lack of unique and delicious lunch spots- Noon Midtown is a welcomed addition. Noon’s most appealing feature? It won’t break the bank. Prices range from $7 to $10 for gourmet sandwiches. Owners Birmingham and Davis feel Noon’s prices will appeal to the under-served lunch crowd in Atlanta.

1010 Midtown is excited to have two other speciality restaurants opening in the near future. Ri Ra Irish Pub and Restaurant will be opening sometime in July and Piola, an Italy-based chain of pizzerias, plans to open later this year.
