Viewership has gone up phenomenally and the dominance of particular shows do not exist any more," Basu said here. He said TRPs were not neccessarily the absolute standards of judging the popularity or viewership of a show.
Basu said 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC) in its first season hosted by Amitabh Bachchan had 18 TRPs while the third season hosted by Shah Rukh Khan garnered 12 TRPs. "These numbers do not mean the viewership for 3rd season was low considering the huge number of television channels which had come in the last six to seven years," he added. Speaking about Salman, Basu said "Dus Ka Dum" adapted from the hugely successful American multi-million dollar game show "Power of 10" hosted by Drew Carey. "It is an entertaining and exciting concept. Salman is a charismatic actor with a huge following. He too liked the concept which is funny and light," he added. The game show goes on air from June six at 2100 hrs and will be telecast every Friday and Saturday. On the show, a contestant who can most accurately predict how the public would respond to the most intriguing poll questions could walk away with Rs 10 crore. He said the original "Power of ten" reaches out all across America to poll thousands of people ask them just about everything. The contestant which gives the best take on the American mindset walks away with millions.

Source: DNA

Some people think that I am too moody: Salman

Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who is to anchor Sony TV’s new reality game show ‘Dus Ka Dum’, has turned a blogger and writes in his first entry that he takes all his decisions on instincts rather than calculations.’All my decisions are based on my instincts and some people think that I am too moody and cynical,’ Salman writes in his blog.’Believe me, I have been guided by my instincts and my heart all my life! I do not depend too much on intelligence, analysis and calculations.’ Salman, who has often been in the news for wrong reasons, says that earlier he had his own reservations about anchoring a show. ‘I still remember the day when my brother Sohail Khan brought the proposal to anchor a show for Sony Entertainment Television. I had my reservations. The idea sounded so impractical that I rejected it even without giving it much thought,’ he wrote. But then what attracted him to ‘Dus Ka Dum’?‘There is no false shame and sense of humiliation on the show if your answer is wrong. Sample survey has determined the exact answers in form of percentage and the one who answers nearest to the exact answer is the winner. This game is simple. It is a game of guessing.”Dus Ka Dum’ is a game inspired by the US game show ‘Power of 10?, in which the contestant who predicts most accurately how the public would respond to poll questions walks away with millions. In his blog, Salman writes about how he came aboard for the show.
“I still remember the day when my brother Sohail Khan , who always dreams big, thinks different, brought the proposal to anchor a show for Sony Entertainment Television. I had my reservations. The idea sounded so impractical that I rejected it even without giving it much thought. All my decisions are based on my instinct and some people think that I am too moody and cynical. But believe me I have been guided by my instincts and my heart all my life! I do not depend too much on intelligence, analysis and calculations…However, Sohail, the eternal optimist, and family friend Ajay Chhabaria have tremendous patience and endless power of persuasion. They kept asking me to look into the format closely. Their patience and perseverance paid dividends,” Salman writes.
About what attracted him to the show, Salman writes: “What attracted me to the format of 10 Ka Dum is that there is no false shame and sense of humiliation if your answer is wrong…The second thing that attracted me to the format is the informality of the show -- it goes to such an extent that the role of anchor and contestants are reversed at times and also interchangeable.”
Salman added that soon, ‘10 Ka Dum’ ceased to be a format or a chat show for him. “It became my thanks-giving to millions of my fans who have showered their love and blessings to a rather reluctant star.”

Source: Indian Celebrities

Sallu starrer Main Aur Mrs Khanna is first film to get permission to shoot at high security airport

Sallu starrer Main Aur Mrs Khanna is first film to get permission to shoot at high security airportSalman Khan’s Main Aur Mrs Khanna has managed the near-impossible. For, he has put his Bollywood commitments on hold.
At present, our sexy Sallu is enjoying 'Dus Ka Dum - Power of Ten'. And he is working really hard to make an impact with his debut on the small screen.

Earlier, there were reports that the actor is taking tips from King Khan who hosted game shows. Knowing Salman, the tips he would be taking is - "Boss, how I keep my shirt on?" Knowing Salman, that’s going to be a major task because he’s one cool dude who knocks off his shirt before you can blink!

Wonder what his lady love, Kat has to say about her beau’s foray into television? Considering the moolah that the small screen’s generating, is Katrina too tempted to toy with the television?

So what's 'Dus Ka Dum' all about? Think like India thinks and you can win Rs.10 crore! There are interesting questions that will incite everybody to start thinking. Anybody can win the game. You don’t have to be a bookworm. All you need is 50 per cent common sense and 50 per cent perception of how Indians think.

Anyways, if you don't manage to take home some moolah, you still would've had a chance to share space with the sexy Khan. A win-win situation all the way through! The show would be aired from June, 2008.

Source: msn

Small gets big

Drew Carrey has been receiving phone calls from an unlikely Indian dialer. Hollywood’s funny man and the host of Power of 10 has been giving Salman Khan tips on how to enthrall audiences as the anchor of Power of 10’s Indian avatar, or as Sony TV has rechristened it, Dus Ka Dum.
Though infamous in tabloids as a maverick, Salman is anything but joking about his television debut. He possibly can’t afford to since he’s reportedly being paid a staggering Rs 90 crore for 100 episodes.
Even before shooting for the show began, the actor took Synergy Adlabs, the production house, on a Mumbai tour, just so he could rehearse. “We’ve been travelling with him to Mehboob Studios, to his house and even to his brother’s office,” says Managing Director Anita Kaul Basu.
Till only a few years ago it would have been preposterous to think that a successful superstar would host a shot on television.
Even Amitabh Bachchan’s decision to sit opposite Kaun Banega Crorepati’s (KBC) hot seat in 2000, though a first for a film star, had come at a time when the actor was suffering from some serious down time.
It was really with Shah Rukh Khan’s KBC quizzing that people took notice. And though it has taken some time, Bollywood’s boom time on television has only just begun.
Salman Khan is being paid Rs 90 crore for close to 100 episodes of Dus ka DumAfter the two Khans, Akshay Kumar, whose only previous television appearance was a seven part series on National Geographic called Seven Deadly Arts, has given his nod to host Fear Factor’s Indian version, not surprisingly called Khatron Ke Khiladi.
The 16-episode show, which will air on Viacom-18’s recently launched channel Colors, is being produced by Endemol and the actor is reportedly being paid a whopping Rs 1.5 crore per episode.
Though this is the second instalment of Fear Factor in India, the first one, aired on Sony TV, featured little-known small screen stars, was hosted by Mukul Dev, and made no more than a blip on the TRP graph (2.5).
The blitzkrieg of actors using television for their greater good started when the marketeers became aware of the readymade publicity platform reality shows provided.
“Film stars were already doing television for free; they realised it was time they made money out of it,” says Keertan Adyanthaya, executive vice-president and general manager, Star Plus.
So Shah Rukh continued his TV-run with the 36-episode Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hein? on Star and even the usually hostile Ajay Devgan and Kajol took the tube route with Rock N Roll Family on Zee TV where the two along with Tanuja judge families on naach-gaana.
Money and publicity aside, television also lets actors connect with the audience. “It also lets them bust a lot of myths created around their persona,” says Sony TV business head Albert Almeida.
He’s probably hinting at Salman, who’s shed his first-day nervousness and put his sensitive side on display for the four episodes he’s shot till now. “He has an edginess and unpredictably. He doesn’t march to a singular tune and that works very well,” says Basu.
Stars are being relentlessly pursued also because of their advertising pull. A big ticket show like Paanchvi Paas or Dus ka Dum attracts advertisers because of its grand scale and its superstar status.

If a 10-second spot in a soapy saga sells for Rs 1 lakh, the same spot on a big show sells for nothing less than Rs 4 lakh. Add stars to this and advertisers flock to the channel. Star Plus, for one, has on board 11 sponsors for its Shah Rukh extravaganza, totalling over Rs 130 crore.
Today, the audience’s attention span has shrunk to a new low with the Indian Premier League (IPL) generating more TRPs (8.6) than a top-rated show on an entertainment channel.
The most recent example is Shah Rukh’s Paanchvi Pass. When compared to his earlier crore-caper, KBC 3, that opened with a TRP of 9.3 in January 2007, the first episode of this show only managed 4.6, slipping to 3.7 in the second. Yes, they may have beat IPL for one hour, but the question is will it sustain?
Urmila Matondkar is being paid Rs 1 crore for the 17-week Waar Parivaar showAfter all, though the audience might remember Bachchan’s lock kiya jaye and Shah Rukh’s spitfire wit, television has also produced superstar duds like Govinda’s Jeeto Chhapar Phaad Ke (average TRP of 3.4) and Madhuri Dixit’s post-marriage outing Kahin Naa Kahin Koi Hay (average TRP of 1.2), both on Sony TV.
Manisha Koirala’s SawaalDus Crore Ka on Zee TV was also disastrous. Even Star Plus’s golden goose KBC saw a slip in TRPs with every consequent season.
While opening at an average of 14.13, the subsequent seasons, KBC 2 with Bachchan and 3 with Shah Rukh, managed average TRPs of 11.14 and 6.8, respectively.
“You can only attract a certain number of people through star power. The concept has to work as well,” says Zee TV business head Tarun Mehra. He should know since the Devgan 30-episode family outing’s TRPs have been slipping after opening at 4.2.
In the next couple of months, television will have an overload of cricket and Bollywood. Not only big buck stars, but also have-beens like Raveena Tandon on 9X’s Chak De Bachche and Shatrughan Sinha on Star One’s The Great Indian Laughter Challenge 4.
Urmila Matondkar, who enjoyed the limelight in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 2, returns to host Sony’s music show Waar Parivaar. She is allegedly being paid Rs 1 crore for the 17-weekshow— improving on her Rs 1.5-crore fee for 26-episode Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 2.
The gain is mutual for both the channels and the actors. What they should fear is falling into a rut where one channel throws money at an actor just to grab eyeballs, making the viewer switch to watch the Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Mumbai Indians.

Source: India Today

Sony uses IPL to promote 10 Ka Dum

Sony Entertainment Television (Set) is waiting for the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be over to start its innings with film star Salman Khan as host of a mega game show 10 Ka Dum.
While sister channel Max is raking in the moolah with the telecast of the IPL, Set is investing heavily to market the big ticket show which it hopes will correct its floundering status.
Sony has slipped in the ratings warfare, struggling to surface in the fourth or fifth position as the market for Hindi general entertainment channels has become intensely competitive with new players 9X and NDTV Imagine.
Sony has started promoting the mega show during the IPL matches on Max. And it is not there that the efforts end. The high voltage show is being promoted across different channels. Set has bought ad spots on various kids, regional and news channels like India TV and CNN IBN.
Produced by Synergy Adlabs, 10 Ka Dum is an Indian version of Power of 10 and will be doling out Rs 100 million as prize money.
Targeting the key cities in Hindi speaking markets (HSM), Sony has segmented the marketing activities into three phases.

Presently in the first phase of promotions, the channel will roll out the second phase of promotional activities between 20 – 25 May.
“The first phase is designed to create awareness among people about this concept of playing in percentages. Hence the central message is ‘Ab India sochega percentage mein’, says Set AVP marketing Danish Khan.
The promotional activity is being given a complete 360 degree approach. Billboards of Salman Khan in different looks asking questions in percentages are placed on buses, bus shelters and hoardings.
As per the format of the show, Salman Khan will ask questions which will seek answers in percentages from the contestants.
Print ads will start appearing from next week.

From 13 May, auditions for 10 Ka Dum will kick off in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bhopal and Lucknow.
Graphics asking some questions appear on the channel throughout the day. Viewers can send right answers to the channel either through IVRS or the Internet. Among the viewers who send right answers, a few will be selected randomly who will be called for auditions.

“The final lot of selected viewers will have to undergo two or three rounds of tests during auditions. The test will be conducted by the production house Synergy Adlabs. After auditions a group will be finally filtered to play 10 Ka Dum with Salman Khan,” explains Khan.
In the second phase, on ground activations across key cities in HSM will also kick off simultaneously with auditions.
Vans containing console games based on the show will be deployed across multiplexes and malls.
“Our attempt is to give people a first hand experience of the show so that they know how a percentage game is played,” Khan points out.

Source: indiantelevision

Channels look to game shows for viewership

The genre may have just one hit to its name in eight years but India’s general entertainment channels, or GECs, which offer a mix of programming with a bias towards soap operas, are convinced that game shows hold the key to eyeballs and advertising revenues. And so, most GECs have either launched or are in the process of launching game shows yet again.
Star India Pvt Ltd launched Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hai (Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?) on April 25. The show is hosted by Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, features prize money of Rs 5 crore, and was launched after an aggressive marketing campaign on which the company has, according to a media buyer who didn’t wish to be named, spent around Rs 10 crore.
Star has gone ahead and slotted the show during the same time bracket, 8 pm to 9 pm, as matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which are being telecast by rival, Sony Entertainment Television. And although initial response shows Paanchvi Pass did miss out on viewership because of IPL, Star India is not ready to give up yet.
The network will now be running reruns of the show on separate time bands. “We want everyone to sample the show and with reruns, people who are watching IPL can catch the show at a later time,” said an executive from Star India.
In a bid to outdo Star, SET will soon be launching 10 Ka Dum (The Power of 10), a game show hosted by another Bollywood actor, Salman Khan. This show boasts prize money of Rs10 crore and is backed by a high-decibel marketing campaign. SET will launch the show only after IPL ends on 1 June. “The idea is to shepherd IPL viewers to 10 Ka Dum,” said a SET spokesperson.
9X, the new Hindi GEC from INX Media Pvt. Ltd, a company launched by former Star India head Peter Mukerjea, claims to be bringing in a popular American game show to India but isn’t ready to provide further details. “We have already secured the rights of a very successful international format,” said Indrani Mukerjea, chief executive of 9X and co-chairman of INX Media.
The rush for game shows is reminiscent of the year 2000 when, emboldened by the success of Kaun Banega Crorepati (Who Will Become a Millionaire?), on Star Plus, all GECs launched game shows, though most failed. Even Star wasn’t able to recreate the magic, not even with subsequent editions of KBC, the last of which featured Shahrukh. “Compared to KBC which got us record breaking television ratings as high as 27.3, the TRPs (television rating points or the percentage of viewers watching a programme at a given time) of other shows remained below 6-7,” said a Star spokesperson.
Shows launched by SET including Jeeto Chappar Phaar Ke and Deal Ya No Deal in 2004 flopped. Zee TV’s Sawaal Dus Crore Ka (A 10 Crore Question), launched in 2000, never really took off. Another Zee show launched in 2005 titled Kam Ya Zyada? (More or Less?) remained unsuccessful too.
Television executives are convinced they will do better this time. “We want the show to appeal to masses. That’s why we’ve got Salman Khan as host. He’s got a mass appeal,” said Rohit Gupta, president, network sales and revenue management, SET. According to him, viewers tired of soap operas will find game shows refreshing.
Even advertisers seem ready to turn a blind eye to the past. Despite Star and Khan’s poor performance on KBC last year, advertisers such as Bharti Airtel Ltd, LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd, Havells India Ltd and Tata Sky Ltd have invested heavily in Paanchvi Paas. Airtel has paid Rs 50 crore to be the presenting sponsor of Paanchvi Paas and rival Vodafone has paid SET and Filmy approximately Rs 3.5 crore each to be the sponsor of their game shows, say media buyers close to the deals who do not wish to be identified.
And the ad rates for Paanchvi Paas, at Rs 3-3.5 lakh for a 10-second ad spot, are higher than that of IPL’s initial rate of Rs 2-2.5 lakh per spot. “Game shows are an opportunity for instant customer connection. They provide a medium for instant interactivity,” said Harit Nagpal, marketing director, Vodafone. Adds R Chandrasekhar, head, brand and media, Airtel: “Reality game shows are ubiquitous, cutting across various consumer segments. Paanchvi’s concept had a synergy with the Airtel brand.”

Source: Hindustan Times

Salman Khan has finished shooting for the first schedule of his TV show Dus Ka Dum

Salman Khan seems to be in the news for all wrong reasons. First, he is said to have played truant on the sets of his television show 10 Ka Dum, but now it is heard that the actor’s forthcoming films are put on hold because of his realityshow. The actor, who is doing Sony’s show, will have to postpone the shooting of his films.

Sources from the industry claim that the actor is so enamoured by his debut on the small screen that he has pushed all his assignments forward. The shooting of Vipul Shah’s London Dreams, which was to go on floors in June has been postponed to September. His next home production Mr and Mrs Khanna, was scheduled to be shot in Melbourne. One schedule was shot in Mumbai recently. The entire unit is in Melbourne but Kareena’s portions are being canned now.

His next film Veer, which has been scripted by him and is being directed by Anil Sharma, will go on floors after the reality show wraps up.

When contacted, Anil Sharma who is away in London scouting for locales for Veer informs, “Right now, I am looking for locations for Veer. We plan to go on floors as schedule.”

Source: page03

Battle of the Khans

Come June, and the two superstar Khans are going to fight it out on the small screen - and the excitement is bound to reach its peak. Here's a comparison of SRK's 'Paanchvi Paas' with Salman's maiden television venture, 'Dus ka Dum'. It's going to be the 'Bad boy of Bollywood' Vs the 'Baadshah' in your living rooms!

Going by the numbers at least, Shahrukh Khan's 'Paanchvi Paas' is facing tough competition from 'Dus ka Dum' and it looks like Salman might not have to work too hard to catch up with.

'Paanchvi Paas' opened with a TRP of 3.37 as compared to his 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' that had opened with a TRP of a whopping 9.3 in 200. Blame it on SRK's over-exposure at IPL matches, or the show clashing with the IPL excitement, but 'Paanchvi Paas' has failed to hit the right notes at the right time.

This could only gain a few brownie points for Salman Khan whose maiden TV show is tentatively scheduled to hit the small screen on June 2, the day the IPL matches come to an end.Salman Khan's 'Dus ka Dum' has been strategically placed between 9 pm and 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

SRK's show meanwhile, is aired every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 pm to 9 pm. With a prize money of 10 crore rupees on 'Dus ka Dum' - double the amount offered by 'Paanchvi Paas' - Salman's show offeres a bigger bait for the audience as well.

So, while SRK, who has trained Salman to host the game show, is still to pass the exam, watch this space to know if Salman manages to score higher than his mentor...

Source: TimesNow

SET hoping to ride the IPL wave

Sony Entertainment Television is hoping to ride the IPL wave back into the No.3 spot. With four new shows hosted by celebrities like Salman Khan, Urmila Matondkar and Mona Singh, Sony may be on the comeback trail.

The last time filmstars went head to head on television was in the KBC era when Sony's shows with Govinda and Madhuri Dixit took on Star Plus Amitabh Bachchan- we all know how that turned out!

Eight years later, Sony is hoping to stage a comeback of sorts with 4 new shows - fronted by star power. What's different this time is the Indian Premier League, which has consistently scored higher ratings than primetime entertainment fare. And Sony has held back upto 150 seconds of airtime to promote its new shows during the IPL matches, which seems to have worked. Five sponsors including Vodafone, LG, LOreal, and Proctor & Gamble have signed on for Salman Khan's 10 Ka Dum show a month before it airs - at an estimated 20% premium.

Rohit Gupta, President - Ad Sales, SET India said, We are hoping that we consolidate our Number Three position to begin with and then hit Number Two once that happens.

Shashi Sinha, CEO, Lodestar Universal, said, I'm willing to admit that I made a mistake - I thought IPL would not work but we are the first to get back on board - in fact I think the following shows will also do well and I have signed on my clients as sponsors for those as well.

If Sony manages to pull off at least two of the four new shows, it will be a turnaround. It had lost the Number Three spot to new channels like NDTV Imagine and more recently 9x. The WSG Sony combine had bagged the 10-year media rights to IPL for nearly USD 1 billion. Currently ad rates for ten second spots on IPL are between Rs 2 to 4 lakhs.

Source: MoneyControl

Three Superstars (Khan, Khan, Kumar) Go the Reality Way

Three of Bollywood’s biggest male stars are transferring to small screen but in a big reality way. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are each hosting a reality game show and each one is totally different.

Shah Rukh Khan, who of course we have seen on television before with Kaun Banega Crorepati, launched the reality television game show, Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain on April 25th. Much like the US version of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, it has contestants answering questions to “tele teacher” Shah Rukh and has first-fifth classmates on hand if the contestants need help. SRK said on the first episode he, “always wanted to be a teacher. In fact, I did become one in Mohabbatein but today, my wish has actually come true". Contestants can take home, if they answer all questions correct, a cool Rs 5 Crore!

Salman Khan’s Dus ka Dum-Ab India Sochega Percentage Mein is based on the US reality show, The Power of Ten that was hosted by Drew Carey. The concept is that you have to think like the people of India. A huge opinion poll was conducted for the show and the mean (average percent) answer is the question’s answer. If you guess what the people would say then you win Rs 10,000 and then the power of ten comes in because your winnings are increased by that amount with every right answer. You can win as much as Rs 10 Crores!

The newest star to enter the fray is Akshay Kumar and he is going to be hosting the Indian version of Fear Factor, Khatro Ke Khiladi. He talked about the show with CNN-IBN while holding a snake, so he is all ready getting into the swing of things!

Akshay said, "I am very excited about it, I got lots of offers earlier also to come on TV shows but nevertheless I was waiting for something like that to come. This is where I belong.”

He also said that he would be doing some of the stunts on the show, “Yes I will be performing some of the stunts for the show and trying to show the contestants how do it and try to help them.”

Not only will see Khiladi back in action but the show will also have models and stars like Yana Gupta, Pooja Bedi, Aditi Govitrikar, Sonali Kulkarni, Tapur Chatterjee, Tupur Chatterjee, Sayali Bhagat, Nethra Raghuraman, Anjana Sukjani, Dipannita Sharma, Payal Rohtagi, Meghna Naidu and Dipannita Sharma taking part. Khatro Ke Khiladi is being filmed in South Africa.

So not only are these Bollywood hunks striving for box office supremacy, they are now fighting it out for ratings on TV. Wonder who will come out on top?

Source: bollyspice

10 ka dum: Video on AOL

Watch video here:

Paanchvi Pass or Dus ka Dum?

NO ONE seems to be spared by the TV bug. After Big B in Kaun Banega Crorepati and Shahrukh in Paanchvi Pass, the latest to have been bitten by this bug is Salman Khan alias Sallu who will be hosting a show named Dus ka Dum-Ab India Sochega Percentage Mein. With Shahrukh Khan’s Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain already getting a tremendous response from the viewers, it seems a war may brew up between the six-pack-abs-Khan and the shirtless-Khan. Dus ka Dum will be aired on Sony Entertainment Television (SET) with the controversial Khan playing the host. He has vowed to make people super rich as the prize amount to be given out is claimed to be Rs 10 crores. The concept of Dus ka Dum is very simple. The contestants will have to ’think’ like India. A question would be asked, the answer to which would be the average percentage of a mass opinion poll conducted across India. If the contestants guess the correct answer in accordance with the collective opinion of India, they would start winning from a starting amount of ten thousand rupees. Thus, the game show is simple yet big. Afterwards, the questions asked might make the contestants rich or poor by the power of ten depending upon the answers given by them. Answering five questions correctly would get the contestant to the magical figure of 10 crores. Dus ka Dum game show is based on an American show called ’Power of 10’ hosted by award winning comedian Drew Carey. SET is quite confident that with a sum of 10 crores at stake and with poster boy Salman Khan as the anchor to the show, Dus ka Dum is quite well equipped to match SRK’s Paanchvi Pass. Whats your pick?Paanchvi Pass or Dus ka Dum?

Source: zimbio

Salman started shooting for 10 ka Dum

Salman Khan’s TV game show Dus Ka Dum based on the American game show Power of 10 will be aired soon after the IPL matches are over. giving Shah Rukh Khan’s Paanchvi Pass.. will get a run for its money.
Salman cycled all the way from Bandra to the shoot at R K Studios in Chembur last week-end, clad in sportswear. And if his recent pull out from the Zee Cine Awards wasn’t enough, a source from Khan’s upcoming show Dus ka Dum tells us that Salman recently sneaked out of the set leaving the crew bewildered and waiting at RK Studios. “It was the last schedule of the show on Tuesday. And with him leaving for Australia to film Dus ka Dum the channel was to film promos for the show. They had arranged for dancers also for it. The promos were to be shot at the end of the day after the episodes had been canned.”
“But it seems Salman was not in the mood to do them and he quietly left the sets without letting anyone know! The crew, who were doing a quick turnaround, were busy getting the lights and crew ready… they were informing the dancers about their stuff. And when one of the crew members went in to call Salman to the floors he realized that he wasn’t in the room!” says our source. Now with Khan leaving for Down Under to film for Mr. and Mrs. Khanna the promos are completely on hold. The channel has nothing to put and the next shooting schedule for Dus ka Dum only begins a month later. “This vanishing act of Salman could cost the channel as much as ten lakh rupees! Everyone was very angry but what can you do? Star hai na…”
This news comes just a few days after news of Salman pulling out of the Zee Cine Awards left his fans wondering. It is believed that the actor was unhappy with the choreographer assigned to him and therefore decided to make a u-turn at the airport where he was about to take a flight to London for the ceremony!

Source: allthefunny blog

Salman Khan Show “10 Ka Dum”

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan may be the bad boy of hindi film industry for some. Reason? Because they were offering Akshay Kumar Rs 40 crore for an Anees Bazmee project.

Usko le lo, naa.

It is learnt that the day Salman was approached by the corporate house for the project, the actor was in the mood for sarcasm.Reveals an insider, “Studio 18, the name behind films like Welcome and Jab We Met, approached Salman for one of their films last week. The actor met the officials from the company. They told him that they were planning a commercial movie and thought that he’d be perfect for it. Sallu shocked them when he asked them to sign the biggest commercial actor around Akshay Kumar for their film.” The officials told Sallu that they had already signed Akki for another project due to roll next year. Sallu then asked them how they had managed to get Akshay to do the film as he was extremely busy. They replied that Akki was signed for Rs 40 crore. Salman reacted by telling them that ‘If Akshay is getting 40 crore for your film, I am not going to do it for anything less than 50 crore’.” A Studio 18 source says, “A meeting did happen but is not known if Salman is doing the film. We’re not allowed to reveal what happened.”

Source: bollywoodz

Promos of 10 ka Dum

1.
