Today's "15 minute" celebrities of twitter and other social networking sites just love to grab us by the short hairs and tell us what to like and dislike. I, however troll along at a different pace and have fell victim to the vicious snarkiness of adding comments to some of the more thought provoking stories about celebrities.

I like many millions of you could really care less about what some "15'er" had for lunch or why they're getting sent to jail. To me there are just many more things in my own life that could use those fifteen minutes wasted on bratty kids.

Putting My WordPress List On Anabolic Steroids

Remember how easy it was back in the days when you could add "Subscribe now" or "Free Newsletter" on a free site and get a drove of visitors join in? Today you can't approach list building the same way like 5, 6 or 7 years ago! You need to have a vision and plan a strategy because people are now more reluctant to join your list than ever.

It is NOT because they're afraid of SPAM. Although you should clearly have an anti-spam policy on your blog.

It is NOT because they're "I know you'll sell my email!" paranoid.

It is NOT because they don't know you.

It is more because they're AFRAID. Afraid of not receiving what you promise. Afraid of receiving too many emails than you promised. Afraid of receiving emails that are not highly-relevant to what you promise on the blog, and so on.

The biggest reason why visitors won't join your list though it is because you promise the same old stuff that we're seeing on all the other blogs. For example, how many times did you see an opt-in form saying... "Free Blog Updates"?. It is so common these days.

And how many times did you see a 'PDF report' offer? Less often! The point I'm trying to drive home here is this and listen closely because your blogging success depends on it:

And if you want to make lots of money from a combination of blogging and email marketing, then here's what you need to do:

Step #1. Talk with fellow bloggers [I suggest you contact bloggers outside your niche too] who are already successful list builders and interview them on SKYPE, by phone or via email. This way you'll learn some good shortcuts and some "secrets" that will help you get where you want to go, faster, easier, better than any other method out there.

Step #2. Implement the tips you gather from your conversation with these pro bloggers. Have one bloggers as your mentor. Learning from different sources might do more harm than good, and actually confuse you.

Step #3. Start building your list. Never postpone. Do not wait for anything to be perfect. Start getting your first subscriber and strategize for making your first sale. The rest will follow.

Sophos editor does an outstanding video on how the recent viral video bug/phishing scam is being set upon users of Facebook. It seems as though, based from the content here that many are apt to dial in to the key terms " controversial" . The idea of having to watch a video that is controversial makes many users simply lay their guard down and permit these types of intrusions to occur.

And since Facebook is used by a nation of over 500,000,000 people there will be possibly millions that enter into the sleaziness of this application without even fully knowing what they are getting themselves into.

Yesterday I had an unfamiliar occurrence happen to me. Something that I was dreading the entire time I have been in externship. It finally caught up to me after holding on for a good run of 3 months.
What I am talking about is getting pulled over by Johnny Law, who was disguised yesterday as a Pasco County Sheriff. Yup, three whole months of dodging the police netted me two tickets yesterday. Non-moving violations, "failure to produce insurance" and her good old friend, "expired tag" paid a visit to my glove box after the good deputy told me to get on my way.
Both tickets totaled the sum of $225.00 and now I HAVE to get the proper paperwork together. Two more things to worry about paying..sheesh.

Just in time for baby girl's birthday

This little gem was spotted in a well to do forum. I just happened to be there while looking for something for Kayla's upcoming birthday. Now before you get your ultra-liberal urine soaked panties in a bind, yes I will teach my daughters about firearms and how to use them. When I feel they are of the age and mental maturity. I just thought the whole HelloKitty aspect of the weapon was comical. Yea, asshole intruder say hello to HelloKitty and her buddies the Full Metal Jackets.

HelloKitty as you probably well know is a Japanese anime figure that has worldwide appeal. Hell, I've worked with grown men that have had their cubicles draped in all kids of weird HelloKitty accoutrement. And he was serious about everything and anything HelloKitty related. where this idiot is as of this writing is anyone's guess though. When I saw this picture above, I immediately thought of him and his weird child toy fetish.

My Fix Of The Fox Bug – Day 34

Day 34 brings me back to one of my old Sunday standbys, American Dad. There wasn't very much I haven't seen so far in the Redbox that's close to me. That's why I like the idea of being able to see what's in my local box online. Netflix came yesterday but unfortunately, I had movies in the que that the kids couldn't see at all.

So I went into my Netflix que and removed all of The Boondocks series. Too racy for them. And being that the HULU service only plays on my small laptop screen, I was ble to see a few American Dad episodes. Here's one below, that i found a bit funny. Living Without Cable TV – Day 32

Since my economically challenged lifestyle as an unemployed medical student began, there have been ups and downs. One of the downs that we are currently experiencing is the inability to have cable television in the home. Yes, I have four children and they do miss the idiot box but they have fond other avenues for their entertainment.

I on the other hand have become more active as well. I get to the local park and take an even further walk to the store with the kids. Helping my sanity and alleviating my blood pressure has been a result of such walks.

Day 32 of no cable brings us the videos Inglourious Basterds for me and for the children, they watched a somewhat bumpy starting copy of Ice Age 3. I enjoyed both videos. And yes, before yo ask, they were not allowed to watch the "R" rated Inglourios Basterds. It seems like Redbox came through again.

Below is a video series from Hulu that I have running on second monitor as I fill out job applications. Keeping a bit of humor in my ear tends to keep me from going a bit stir crazy.

Failing To Draw A Crowd

The picture above shows a cluster or gaggle of folks waiting to get inside a venue somewhere. Looks to be somewhere in Vancouver, British Columbia that is hosting an event for the Asian community. If I cold have the heads in that line to visit my site via Google, Bing or even Ask, I would be happy. Stretching around the corner and in a nice tightly compacted group, all of those different opinions looking to share what they think and feel about a particular subject is appealing to me.

Having the means to pay for a marketing campaign via the usual suspect of Google Adwords is completely out of my scope right now. Many people that visit here are simply looking and not supporting bloggers. For this reason alone, I tend to stay within a small circle of friends that sally comment or may even ask me a question or two via the contact form.

Commenting and adding my two cents helps me to vent my frustrations. It’s good to see that on other’s sites they have the same issues that I do. Presently, I have no paid campaigns for advertisements going on. This has hurt traffic quite a bit. But a good lesson is being learned.
