back from Thailand

Went for three weeks for a round tour through south Thailand. Visited Bangkok, Ko Samui, Ko Phangan, Railay, Ko Phi Phi and Phuket. Worst places were by far Ko Samui and Phuket, just too much tourists. Anyway, I compiled a set of photos, which you might be interested in:

Reggae Jam again....

We went to Reggae Jam in Bersenbrueck again, but this time for three days including camping. It was fun and we were pretty lucky with the weather. Unfortunately we did not see so much bands, only Tanya Stephens, Junior Reid (one blood!) and Alborosie. Some photos are on flickr, again.

Back from traveling

I was out for a couple of days. One of my short trips was to Montpellier in France. I did not had lots of time to look around. Anyway, I could take at least some pictures. Check it out on the flickr stream.

Something, what I did not expect happend. I already heard of schmap on certain blogs and websites. It is a web portal providing travel guides to destinations all around the world. The compiled travel guides are basically a set of photos with some text placed on a map. The photos are taken from online resources such as flickr. So and now this is the surprise, they included one of my pictures, which I took during my Finland trip last year, into their travel guide for Scandinavia. This is awesome and a bit funny as all my pictures are not really professional and taken with the lousy ixus 55. Find below the complete travelguide.

Visiting Zurich

Actually this is nothing spectecular, but as I lived their for some years and went there to Kindergarten, I was a bit excited about what I would actually recognize. I think the first memories I have, are connected to different locations around Zurich. I discovered different places, at which I had some sort of memory.
However, I am not always sure if all these memories are true, or just supported by certain pictures. But I recognized certain places, of which you would never take a picture (e.g. tram station central) , but I know, that I have been there a couple of times before. I am really happy about this experience.

Unfortunately I got only into town in the later noon, thus the pictures are not that good. Anyway, the complete set is here.

Typhoon & Sticks in Enschede

Nothing special, but good music. Awesome crowd and good performance of Typhoon and Sticks of Opgezwolle. I took some pictures, but this is the only one, which has reasonable quality. Cameras in mobile phones are only producing good quality pictures, if there is much light. Otherwise you will just get too much noise in your picture. This camera in my new Nokia E 65 is quiet disapointing.

Back from Brazil...

As one flight was cancelled I had to wait 8 hours in Milano and went to the city center. Besides that I visited Sao Paulo, Santa Katharina and Salvador. Good weather, lots of beaches and much fun.

Now I have to get used to the low temperatures of Holland and Germany :(

And I am just back from Helsinki. The time there was nice and I had some good trips through Helsinki, to Talin, to the national park and via bicycle.

Next week my holiday starts. I will visit a friend in Brasil. I am looking forward to that!

Arrived in Finland

After a day on the Ferry, I arrived safely in Espoo. It is heavily raining and I got to organize some food. Currently I think I will go by car into town, but that might change, if the weather improves. In the meanwhile you can have a look at the flickr photo set, which I will update during my stay.

One month in Finland

Tomorrow I will leave for Finland. I am not really sure, what I have to expect. So let's see. I will go by car and take my new bike with me. Plans for October: Holidays in Brazil.

Reggae jam Bersenbrueck

Unbelievable, but true. I went to a reggae festival event just really spontaneously. But only for one day. However it was fun. I saw Cecile, Ward 21 and Irie revoltes. There were also others, but they weren't fun at all. Ok, Ward 21 was also not really fun, because they always screwed up their set.

After that I joined an aftershow dance outside, which was really blazing. However I was quite happy to go back home after all that and sleep in my bed and not in a cold tent. I think I get old... :(

The weather was great, at least for the first 4 days, in which I had no business appointments. I saw a lot of stuff and I did a lot of walks through the town. The highlights were, going to the swimming pool, walking along Moscow River and visiting the red square.

Lost in Moscow

I am now in Moscow since 3 days and I am making my way. Actually Moscow it is a lot more cooler than expected. However I am pretty lost by the cyrillic letters, but lonely planet is always my guide. Food is average, expenses are not so high and weather pretty awesome. Got my first sunburn this year. Ok, these are also my first holidays for this year. So no suprise ;)

When I return to Europe, I will upload all pictures.

Ok, my first time in DK. Quite windy and cold. Beer is expensive, as well as the rest. However not the worst place to be ;) I am just sitting at the airport and waiting for boarding. In the meanwhile I also upload some impressions from Aalborg. Watch here:

Jumpstyle

Yes, it's true, the somehow boring and ugly dutch music named Gabber from back in the 90s is celebrating a revival. It is now called jumpstyle and I referenced it by conicidence, when blogging about the great lego music video of Jekyll & Hyde (Frozen Flame). Unfortunately there are lots of videos out on the web, just type jumpstyle and watch. Jeckyll & Hyde also released the new single freefall, which entered the chart list on #1 just this week. It is an ugly tune, so help yourself, if you want to watch it :)

However there are some videos on youtube, which are fun to watch. Jumpstyle is actually a dancing style, which can be done everywhere in public, even in Aldi supermarket. Enjoy!

Back in Holland for only 24 hours I discover the blazing new song of brainpower with the partysquad. Dutch rap to the fullest. The beat of the song is aligned to Snoop's "drop it like it's hot". And it is so cool. Watch it and listen!

Paris - a short review

Ok, that was my Paris trip. A little bit shorter, than planned, but ok. I will rank this trip as average. I was not really lucky with my accomodation. Additionally the weather was not the best, that's not a surprise in January. However I saw some nice spots and had a good time, I will not regret. Had two great reggae parties, nice work and some time to watch DVDs...

By now I do not have new travel plans. I would love to go to Jamaica, but that's just a all-time favorite.
