Send Mardi Gras Greetings!		Mardi Gras [Feb 21] What’s the synonym of fun, happiness and frolic? Mardi Gras! Yes, that’s what it is. The scene was set for the good people of the world to groove to the rhythms of pulsating tracks. Steve was there with his fake tattoos and eye masks. He wore a shiny blazer and burned the floor with moves that would make legends of the yore shy. What’s with Steve and the dance floor, I wonder. He loves it to the hilt. Maybe this… he is this geek who lives in a world where he and his computer are the two people around. He converses less as he doesn’t find what he seeks in humans. All his emotions that are packed and accumulated goes for a free wild run when he hits the floor because dance doesn’t need language nor a conversation. It is all about emotions and waking up an animal within that goes wild with license. It’s time you let that animal out to graze. Go out and have fun this Mardi Gras!

Cuddle Day [Feb 25] I think this day was invented by a desperate lover. Who else would need one more excuse to cuddle with his or her partner but not a lover?! Whoever that was, Sir/Madam, please take a bow! I used this fantastic excuse of a day to cuddle with my sweetheart Aaliyah. She liked the fact that at last I remembered some day and actually had the foresight to celebrate it. She can’t remember for the life of her the days I have not remembered inclusive of her birthday, love anniversaries, etc. Whatever be the reason or logic, I loved that alone time with my girl. It is a beautiful lazy day and I loved being close to Aaliyah and found that to be strangely relaxing. Go cuddle lovers of the world!		Send Cuddle Day Greetings!

Send Anniversary Greetings!		Anniversary Talking about love anniversaries, ours is near. We met and fell in love a good while back, and that is a beautiful memory! Thinking of those butterflies in the stomach days, I go all dreamy eyed. Then, Aaliyah was the forbidden fruit and today she is my soul mate. The most important thing that happened in my life and the biggest of all blessings I was given by God. I wouldn’t forget that anniversary day for anything, but even if I do, it doesn’t matter. She is here and she is true. This is reality and nostalgia is for those who go back and find happiness. I have happiness here and now. And happiness has a name. The name is Aaliyah.

Birthday Who said birthdays are only fun? Mine isn’t. I dread birthdays. I feel like I am growing too old. I have too many things to day and not many days left. That’s the way I see it. I am an eternal optimist, but birthdays bring out the pessimist in me. Well, thankfully, I have my good family and great friends around who give me amazing gifts that kind of cuts away on the gloominess and gives some hope that even if my years are going to be less I will still have lot more gifts to procure from the near and dear on my birthday. What would you give me, Bob?” I looked straight into her eyes and said, “I would be a bit of your mother, a bit of your father, a bit of your brother, a good bit of your best friend, a tiny bit of your cute dog and every bit of myself… For You!” I believe, that sums up love. It is not enough to be just yourself to your love, but be a bit of everything that she loves. Never make her miss anyone. She needs to find everyone in you. And ‘you’ in everyone! Valentine’s Day is the day to celebrate this fact.

I Love You [Feb 14] I often ask Aaliyah what’s the need to say “I love you” all the time. Isn’t it understood? Well, she said, “Bob, yes, you are right. There is no need to say it, but do you know how good it feels to hear it?” Well, now, that’s a thought! Not everyone can explain the way your love of life does. They choose the simple words, words that will make us understand. They know exactly what to say and when to say it. And more importantly, when not to say something. Send Valentine’s Day Greetings!		Family [Feb 14] You know the place you always go to when things are not going your way? Family. Yes, that’s the place. That’s the only place where they know what you are going through and what you need. The unconditional support is what family gives you. Never ever forsake your family for anything or anyone. Include someone in your family. That is okay. But never exclude your family for anyone. That is simply not done. No one in their right mind should forget to wish one’s family on Valentine’s Day. Friends [Feb 14] Family is by default, but friends are chosen by angels. These guys and girls who have no blood ties are willing to shed blood for us jus’ because they are our friends. How is that possible? And why? There is no answer to this question, but this is a divine relationship that is for keeps. It is not easy to get a good friend and when you find one, treasure it. Not many know that friends are angels without wings and they tend to be your guardian when family and loved ones are away. Send Groundhog Day Greetings!		Groundhog Day[Feb 2] Groundhog is out of its burrow and so is the happiness. Perfect day for an outing, for the groundhog and Steve. He hasn’t left his burrow for quite a while and he loves to take a stroll. Being the geek he is, he is always cocooned in his gadget freak room, all day and night. And on Groundhog Day he makes an exception. Anything positive that happens, breeds positive emotions. Steve is no exception to the rule. Maybe you should too, once in a while, come out of your concrete forests in pursuit to money and watch a groundhog come out of its burrow. It may, in all probability will, make you smile!

Send a Card to a Friend Day[Jan 27] Friends are aplenty and the day has only 24 hours. I wish there were more friends and a lot more time. Once in a while I call. Once in a while I text. Once in a while I mail. But the pleasure is most when I send a card to a friend. It works like a charm. See, the mails, calls and texts are all good. But there is something about sending a greeting card. Unlike others, greeting cards are meant to bring a smile. The receiver doesn’t have any other choice but to feel good. Send Love Greetings!		Love Just a greeting card wouldn’t suffice there! You got to send two of them. Yes, that’s what I do. They thought they were the most beautiful in the world and then they saw Aaliyah! I love my girl and I love her so very much.

Chocolate Cake Day[Jan 27] It is easy to bake a cake. Especially, if you have two girls helping you do it. Well, I did all the important tasks of setting out the plates with forks and spoons and all forms of important cutlery. Then of course, I had words of encouragement and wore an apron. Well, I even got water for them when they looked tired. I finally tasted the Chocolate Cake too and importantly, approved of it. Does all this make me a chef? Well, Megan and Aaliyah don’t think so. Send Family Greetings!		Family Life I went home over the weekend and took my place in the porch overlooking the fields. It is quiet in the country side and absolutely amazing to be pampered by my mom. She still frets over my health and over my hair not being combed. Wow! There is always my father to talk to me about discipline and he still treats me like a kid explaining to me the finer points of fishing. And now golfing, since he has taken a fascination towards it. All said, it was lovely being home and I urge you guys and girls who live by yourselves to visit your old man and lady whenever you find time. They may not say it, but they would love it if you pop in and let them know you care. When all else fails, there is always the family. Remember that!

At Work A strange thing happens when I leave for a vacation. I start missing office! I mean, the colleagues, the work itself. When you love what you do, you miss the work and the people whom you associate with it too. Wish you guys have a job that is jus’ like mine and if not, it is time you got one! What a week it has been?! One roller-coaster ride, I would say!

Send ‘Send a Hug Day’ Greetings!		Send a Hug Day[Jan 21] He walked slowly but cautiously. A sweet little man he was. He couldn’t walk fast though. His hands were trembling. But he had a smile on his face. He was wearing dirty workman clothes and his hand had grease stains. He was smiling at everyone. It was the hospital waiting room. People with many ailments and moody faces. No one had a smile. Some were worrying whether the insurance will cover what they have and some were worried will they ever be normal again, defeating the disease they are suffering from. This man was walking through all of them glancing at every face and then smiling goofily. No one could ignore him and they had to smile back politely. They forgot their pain for a moment and watched him limp and smile. He played with a kid who looked sad and the kid started laughing. Then the kid started playing and he started jumping along clown-like with the kid. There were angelic nurses in their whites walking around and there was that sadness cloud that was hanging in the waiting room, but then there was him. Now, he had started singing. It was an on old John Denver song and someone in the crowd picked up the rhythm and started singing along slowly. It was a concert atmosphere now and the pain they carried seemed to ebb slowly but surely. It was for a fleeting moment and then he was tired. He had his pain too. He sat down and looked at everyone. For once, he grimaced and looked sad. Everyone collectively looked at him and smiled. And the kid climbed on to his lap and hugged him tight. I closed my eyes. Humanity survives not because of heroes on the silver screens, but heroes like the one I saw right now. I have decided to smile at strangers to ease their pain, would you? In the process, you may even send a hug to all those who need it.

Send Friday the 13th Greetings!		Friday the 13th[Jan 13] It’s Friday the 13th. Fright night for the world. Aaliyah is usually terrified that night, but it works to my favor. Want to know how? Read on… She sneaks up to me when I am asleep. Rests her chin on my shoulder and closes her eyes. I smile eyes closed. A little heavy I feel, but love the extra weight that’s on me. Aaliyah is my sweetheart and her place is my shoulder. There is nothing in this world that comes close to cuddling up to your sweetheart. You feel like you have come home. You will be transported to another world where there is only peace, love and happiness. I think that world is called love. When she cuddles up to me, we usually spend those moments in silence. The language of love! Sometimes words are a hindrance, you know!

Strawberry Ice Cream Day[Jan 15] It was Strawberry Ice Cream Day and that’s a day I will never forget. My first dance with Aaliyah happened that day. Megan had thrown a party where the ice cream was served in abundance and the day was basically an excuse, she needed to party! Have you danced with both your legs in the air? I have. How and when? It was when I held Aaliyah’s hips and drew her to the dance floor. I had a goofy smile on my face and she had an amused one. Dance to the fast beats went like a dream as nothing registered. I just moved to the rhythm with my eyes firmly in her eyes. Then, the slow tunes started playing. I held her close and we moved with eyes closed. I whispered in her ears, “I love you, Aaliyah.” And kept repeating that all through the dance. She kept on saying, “Say that one more time, Bob.” And I did. We kissed when the music stopped. All the festive revelry over, I am back to rolling in a normal schedule. What a shame! Well, if every day is a holiday then the holidays won’t be fun anymore, right?

Let’s earn some and then save it up for the big days. This place ain’t that bad. Life is good on a sober day too at work! How’s it going for you?

Send Flower Basket Day Greetings!		Flower Basket Day[Jan 4] I chose the basket that my aunt had dumped in my place during Christmas. Wrapped it up with a colorful paper and then chose the best of flowers that I had picked from the boutique, arranged them carefully… Wrote a note and carried it to Mrs. Bradley. She loves flowers. And she loves it when I remember to give her some. She looked so beautiful and was thankful that I made the effort to gift her some flowers on Flower Basket Day. I usually send a card or two, but today I fancied a walk to her place. I scooted back and sent a card to all my friends whom I could not reach on foot.

Come on, Let’s Dance! How many feet do you have? Two? Well, I have a 500 or so on last count. I am talking about the dance floor! Your Bob can’t dance to save his life. Aaliyah moves like an angel though. And I am an embarrassment on the dance floor. Aaliyah loosened up and asked me to let go. And I did. If my girl says, I listen. I danced without any sense of rhythm. What made people notice me and dance along and hoot and whistle is my genuine earnestness to dance and the infectious enthusiasm. It worked and I dance better now moving my feet to the rhythm. It’s all about that initial floor fear and then, it is a piece of cake.		Send Dance Day Greetings!

Send Anniversary Greetings!		Anniversary Heard of friendship anniversary? Megan has. And she was there to tie me a friendship band and gifted me a bunch of flowers. Sweet of her. She wasn’t surprised I don’t know about this day. Aaliyah promptly reminded Megan that I remember our love anniversary jus’ because she has the habit of reminding me a day in advance. When two girls meet to discuss anniversaries, inevitably the blame goes on the guy. Well, I deserve it though.

Inspirational You know who is my biggest inspiration? Myself. I am not being pompous here. I am just being truthful. I have admonished myself when I had failed because of my mistakes and I have admired myself when I had beaten the odds and come out on top. When I am pushed to a corner, I remind myself of those tough days and the ultimate victory and I am pumped up to give it my best shot. I have lived my life this way and will so in the future. Send New Year Greetings!		New Year [Jan 1] This year’s resolution is simple. Definitely get that peeking paunch out. Not fighting with Aaliyah much and working harder to achieve certain goals at work! That should complete the list. Good resolutions these are. I am not kicking an addiction anymore. That one is a tough one! Ask any smoker! As for Aaliyah, she has the same three resolutions plus one. And that being making sure that I follow my resolutions! New Year is here and a new era begins. It is not just about the resolutions though. It is a good feeling of freshness. A new year, a new start… Somehow feels like yesterday is from the ear that past and today is a new day in a new place. This psychological shift is an amazing experience, really. To live from one year to another in good health is all I pray to God for and I wish the same for you.

Happy New Year “A happy family is but an earlier heaven.” - John Bowring John said that right. I would rather be with Family than by myself on a good day; and on the bad. The only people whom one needs to be on any occasion or a mood swing is the family. The only reason is quite simple – they love us unconditionally. Send Inspirational Wishes Greetings!		Inspirational Wishes New year started with smiles for me. I received flowers from exactly seven people: Steve Megan Kate Mrs. Bradley Jenny Debra Aaliyah. She gave me a kiss too! What a way to start the year! I did the next best thing. I sent some floral cards to my favorite pals. That should have made them smile for sure! These are my inspiration. Spirit of Christmas I take exactly five minutes to get ready. I put on a pair of jeans, a T-shirt and am done. Aaliyah take 30 minutes. Megan takes 45 minutes. Steve takes zero minutes. He doesn’t change. He walks into any event with what he has on. Dressing up our Christmas tree took around half a day. Heard of too many cooks spoil the broth? Well, I saw that happen practically at my place, but we didn’t spoil it. It came out jus’ right. That’s what I would call Spirit of Christmas! Two girls were leading us (Megan and Aaliyah) and obviously, you can’t go wrong with that kind of leadership. It was a chaotic ensemble, but a rewarding result! I am sure you too would have amusing incidents that happened on Christmas Tree Light Day… Mind sharing it to me? I can use a good laugh!		Send Spirit of Christmas Greetings!

Send Christmas Fun Greetings!		Christmas Fun Steve was born on Christmas. He is quite proud of that fact and doesn’t party on that day. He visits the church and stays sober all day. Well, that doesn’t mean we don’t have fun on his big day. Amid all the religious fervor, we take time to dress up Steve as Santa and of course, he has to load himself up with gifts. You see, he is the only birthday boy in this world who gives gifts to others on his birthday! We have quite a bit of Christmas Fun at his expense!

Religious Christmas! At last, Kate found what she wanted to do with her life. Prayers are in order for her! She has got this amazing new venture and we all wished her success. It is so nice to see someone who is close to you on a career path that they dreamt about. She listened to her heart and I respect her for that. She made it a point to visit the church and thanked the Lord for the good fortune bestowed on her. I take this opportunity to wish everyone who is celebrating Christmas Around the World.
