The Brett Kimberlin saga continues, small blogs proliferate in raising our weak and oft unheard voices against the thundering maelstrom of the far left loons. The blogs, from those read only by close friends and family to the 25th tier with their audience of several, upwards to the micro-bloggers that get an occasional break and traffic in the low hundreds on an average day. These are the foot-soldiers in the battle for our nation.

Due to the foolishness and over-confidence of our target some of the larger blogs, some even with name recognition and a national following, are getting involved in this effort. The effort to unmask a twisted dwarf with a bomb in one hand and a subpoena in the other.

But, with an exception or two, none of the truly national blogs, online news purveyors or MSM outlets have so much as breathed a word. Is it apathy or cowardice? Do these non-participants opt out because they just are so jaded that they really don’t care unless it will demonstrably increase web traffic or income from enhanced ad rates? Or are these organizations just cowardly, afraid to put their elephantine bulk of public opinion and political notice up against a 5’4″ sociopath?

Why is it that single man operations are willing to put their very lives on the line to stop Brett Kimberlin and his merry band of Marxist sycophants from continuing their home-grown and home-brewed brand of political terrorism? Are they more invested individually in the success of our nation? Are their lives less valuable than say, Glenn Beck’s?

Even the mainstream media isn’t buying our military’s COIN.

A few days ago, I posted here an article about columnist Diana West’s “grim toll” of 69 — that’s 69 of our men and women murdered by Afghani Muslim military and police personnel who are supposed to be on our side.

And as that article noted, these “green-on-blue” killing attacks are accelerating in rate and number.

Now we learn, from a recent mainstream media report, that it’s even worse than that: In addition to all those men and women in Afghanistan, Americans and our Allies, successfully murdered, it turns out there have been innumerable attempts to try to murder more – which, luckily, have been interdicted.

How many more attempts?

According to the report, more than 160 “individuals” (i.e., Muslims supposed to be on our side in our Afghanistan Fiasco) have been thwarted at various times in various places in the last few months while planning to murder our men and women.

Again, this is in addition to the successful murders of 69 thus far, in many different attacks over the months.

Remember: Intent to mass-murder is just as dangerous successful attacks. Every one of those “individuals” could have murdered many of our men and women, not just one for one. I.e., in terms of murderous intent, the numbers of victims at the hands of our own Afghani “allies” — you know, the Muslims we are spending billions and our own blood to help — could have been in the several hundreds, if not thousands.

But trust our silver-haired Generals to see the silver lining in everything. This was touted by the U.S. top commander General John Allen as “good news”. The mainstream news report I linked rightly questioned this glib optimism by our top commander, noting that the numbers “might be read as more alarming than reassuring”.

And, according to the report, General Allen cited “an eight-step vetting process” to screen new members of the Afghan armed forces.

How much you wanna bet not one of these eight steps actually factor in the Islamic motivations for these attacks?

I read Aaron Worthing’s book-length blog post last night: “How Brett Kimberlin Tried to Frame Me for a Crime (And How You Can Help!).”

This no doubt sets the record for the longest blog post ever written. And I doubt I would have spent the time on it (it’s a 28,000 word essay, with tons of embedded court filings and YouTube videos) but Aaron’s trials hit terribly close to home (more on that below). The essay is now broken up into parts (linked here), although if you let the full post load into your browser, after a couple of minutes you should be able to scroll up and down without difficulty. (I’m using Google Chrome.)

There’s also a nice summary from Dan Collins at Conservative Commune: “Speedway Bomber Brett Kimberlin Harassed, Tried to Frame Blogger Aaron Worthing.”

Readers may remember Aaron from his blogging turn at Patterico’s Pontifications. It turns out his real name is Aaron Walker. He’s an attorney. Some time back he blogged some basic factual information on Brett Kimberlin. Kimberlin was convicted of a series of bomb attacks in 1981. One of his victims, Carl DeLong, later committed suicide as a direct result of his injuries in the attack. After blogging about him, Worthing was targeted by Kimberlin for a vicious and literally deranged campaign of political and legal stalking and harassment. Again, folks have to read the full post to understand how in-depth this campaign was. Both Worthing and his wife were fired from their jobs (their boss feared a terrorist attack on their place of business).

But what’s especially interesting is how much support Kimberlin had on the hard-left progressive community. Robert Stacy McCain’s been reporting on that angle: “Convicted Terrorist Brett Kimberlin Received $70,000 From Tides Foundation, $10,000 From Streisand, $20,000 from John Kerry’s Wife,” and “Who Warned Us About Brett Kimberlin?”

Robert writes, for example:

The disclosure of Kimberlin’s funding from prestigious liberals matters, because of this convicted criminal’s apparently close connections to other key figures in the progressive online community, not only his business partnership with Brad Friedman, but also his claims to be an “associate” of Democrat political consultant Neal Rauhauser.

This Rauhauser character was also directly involved in the legal attacks on Worthing, but you’ll have to go back and start from the beginning to get the full handle on this stuff. At this point I just want to remind people of the attacks on my workplace employment by Scott Eric Kaufman and Carl Salonen. These two are part of the big online community organized by Lawyers, Guns and Money and Sadly No! The folks who are regulars there, as either participants in the harassment or readers in the community, go all the way from people like Professor Charli Carpenter of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst to the racist, anti-Christian bigot TBogg of Firedoglake. (And hate-blogger Walter James Casper, as readers will recall, was a longtime ringleader for the attacks against me.)

I suppose I was lucky in a sense. I was able to defend myself against the malicious attacks from this mob without too much personal cost, financially and emotionally. And of course my employment is safe. But make no mistake: The goal of these progressive cowards was to have me fired. And what’s so amazing is how seriously those contacted by my enemies took the lies and allegations against me. Carl Salonen even had an investigation at my college initiated upon the demand of California Attorney General Kamala Harris. At some point I’ll be writing this up into a long-form essay and perhaps a book manuscript. But for others who’ve had similar experiences (horror stories) Aaron’s post should be a central source of inspiration. And Aaron needs your help. Follow him on Twitter. Spread the word about his legal defense and help him out financially, if you’re able.

For people like Aaron and myself, and so many others who’ve had their livelihoods disrupted simply for exercising their First Amendment rights, there is no other more important story than the progressive left’s campaign of political (and criminal) intimidation. People need to be as brave as possible to speak out and defend against the left’s program of destruction. The nation is moving towards a form of politically correct fascist totalitarianism. It’s not a stretch to be reminded of the coming to power of the world’s 20th century dictatorships. It can happen here if we let it. All the more reason to get in at the ground floor and fight the left’s institutional intimidation network, which reaches up literally to the Oval Office at the Obama White House.

Senators want to tax Americans, even after renouncing citizenship

What happens to Americans when they say goodbye to Uncle Sam and opt for citizenship elsewhere? A few US lawmakers are proposing that expatriates be banned from ever returning to America — and are taxed heavily once gone.

Senators Charles Schumer (D-New York) and Bob Casey (D-Pennsylvania) are suggesting that Congress hears a law that would force former citizens of the US to pay hefty taxes long after renouncing their citizenship and also bans them from ever setting foot again on American soil.

The proposed legislation is being dubbed the Ex-PATRIOT Act, an obnoxious acronym for the Expatriation Prevention by Abolishing Tax-Related Incentives for Offshore Tenancy bill. If passed, it intends to put pressure on US citizens from saying sayonara and shipping off elsewhere.

The Ex-PATRIOT Act is being called a direct response to the recently publicized news that Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin has become a citizen of Singapore, a maneuver which is expected to save him tens of millions of dollars in US taxes. Saverin says it isn’t a taxation issue; Schumers says it’s a “scheme.”

The New York Times reports that Saverin stands to make upwards of $4 billion when Facebook goes public later this week. Although he still has shares in the company, the co-founder parted ways with Mark Zuckerberg and the rest of the social networking site shortly after he helped it get off the ground nearly a decade ago. He filed the paperwork to become a citizen of Singapore in January 2011 and was approved in September. Only recently, however, was the news publicized after the Internal Revenue Service published the names of recently declared expats.

“This had nothing to do with taxes,” Saverin explains in an interview with The Times published on Thursday. “I was born in Brazil, I was an American citizen for about 10 years. I thought of myself as a global citizen.”

In 2011 alone, the IRS reports that at least 1,788 Americans officially renounced their US citizenship. Saverin is reported to have settled down in Singapore after visiting there three years ago.

“Eduardo recently found it more practical to become a resident of Singapore since he plans to live there for an indefinite period of time,” his spokesman, Tom Goodman, tells Bloomberg News.

Regardless of his intentions, Sens. Schumer and Casey want to make sure that other Americans aren’t encouraged to do the same. In a statement issued before they formally proposed the legislation, the lawmakers call Saverin’s move an “outrage” that was done only to “help him duck” paying taxes.

Singapore has no capital gains tax, unlike the States.

The country that broke my heart

Many of us unemployed or underemployed aging Americans are “too young to retire, and too old to rehire.” I’m one of the grievously underemployed, in that I am working very hard indeed, but cannot earn enough to get by. I expect that I will soon find it necessary to start all over again on some foreign shore, in late middle age, with very little money or resources. I am presently working on tying up all the loose ends and getting ready to make it all happen.

It is already inexcusable for the US to tax its own citizens living abroad, on money they earn outside the US. To punish former citizens for attempting to start a new life outside the clutches of the all-encompassing federal government is truly unconscionable.

I lost all trust in the US when the Clintons attempted to obliterate the Serbian people. Even so, as long as I live here, I retain my allegiance to the US Constitution, to US law, and to the laws of my present state of residence. In other words, I hold up my end of the bargain solely because it is the right thing to do, knowing full well that the US government (not to mention state and local governmental bodies) is no longer bound by the rule of law.

The infamous Senators Schumer and Casey needn’t worry; once I leave – and it’s only a matter of time – I won’t be tempted to return. After all, how many survivors of the Titanic would have preferred to remain on the ship as it broke apart and settled to the bottom of the frigid North Atlantic?

Introduction:

The “espionage” I refer to in the title is the infiltration of mosques “undercover” — by individuals, often Infidels pretending to be Muslims, who understand Arabic and/or Urdu languages — in order to find out the seamy underside of what really goes on in those mosques when the Muslim congregations and imams think no one is watching them.

Indeed, this “espionage” could be termed Stealth Counterjihad — recalling the “Spy vs. Spy” activities of the Cold War.

For, in more ways than one, we are engaged in a kind of “Cold War”, though a better term might be the “Phony War” that preceded World War 2 — since the only reason this has not become a “Hot War” is because the West persists in its maddeningly naive myopia by which it refuses to see that an intrinsic and necessary part — indeed the very heart — of the global revival of Islam in the 21st century is the war which Muslims are conducting against us.

I.e., it’s a Hot War for Muslims, but a Non-War for most of the West, blithely unaware in its PC MC idiocy, and often even going the extra idiotic mile of actively (though not purposefully) helping Muslims whitewash the menace they are pursuing against us.

Discussion:

At any rate, slowly but surely, the stillicide of the counterjihad continues to plug away (as it has to, given that our dominant mainstream society and its representatives, our public servants in politics, news and academe, continue to be remiss in their responsibility to defend our societies from the dangers of Islam) — and one form of it has been the espionage of the various “undercover mosque” activities conducted by various people.

Sweden

Recently, for example, Jihad Watch published a report of an “undercover mosque” project in Sweden. The findings of the report? Six out of ten Islamic preachers were found to give illegal advice to Muslim questioners (or to questioners they thought were Muslims) asking questions about polygamy, wife-beating, and spousal rape — illegal, that is, in civilized Western countries like Sweden. Under Islamic sharia law, such crimes (and many others) are not crimes at all, but perfectly legitimate, stemming from either the Koran or the advice of Muhammad himself as supposedly documented in the Islamic hadiths.

This recalls other similar efforts in the last several years:

England

The most famous and most comprehensive one was conducted in several mosques in England in 2007 and broadcast on English telly, with a follow-up in 2008 (with excellent analysis by David Thompson at the time).

Czech Republic

Another was done in 2009 in one mosque in Prague, of the Czech Republic.

Italy

And another was conducted in 2003 in six mosques throughout Italy.

America

Yet another was this survey done beginning in 2007 by undercover infiltrators fluent in Arabic and Urdu who monitored 100 mosques throughout the U.S.A. — the Mapping Sharia project.

Conclusion:

All of these various glimpses into what’s going on in mosques in various Western countries found that the majority of them are promoting, in one way or another, Islamic supremacism and its logical concomitants, intolerance, hatred, truculence and bellicosity against the Unbeliever and his ways and laws. They indicate that such extremism is not a fringe factor in Islam, but is mainstream, normative and endemic — if not pandemic.

Translating Jihad: AMJA Senior Committee Member: Female Genital Mutilation Is ‘an Honor’ per Islam

A couple of weeks ago I posted a translation of a paper by Association of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA) senior committee member Dr. Hatem al-Haj, PhD, MD [a/k/a Hatem Elhagaly], in which he warned American Muslims against working in law enforcement in our ‘infidel’ nation (see here for more details). Now in my latest translation, Dr. al-Haj explains why female circumcision is recommended and even ‘an honor’ for women. This is the same practice which is popularly known as female genital mutilation (FGM) due to the pain it causes women. The World Health Organization (WHO) asserts that “the procedure has no health benefits for women,” and causes a range of health problems including “severe bleeding and problems urinating, and later cysts, infections, infertility as well as complications in childbirth.”

Yet Dr. al-Haj, a medical doctor and fellow at the American Academy of Pediatrics, ignores FGM’s detrimental effects on women’s health, and instead argues that it is ‘an honor’ for women. He justifies this position by referring repeatedly to the words of classical Islamic scholars from the four schools of mainstream Sunni Islamic thought, all of which attest to FGM’s legitimacy under Islam. He also refers to the words of the Prophet Muhammad himself, who reportedly counselled people in his day on how to perform FGM in a way that would be “more beautiful to behold and better for [the woman's] husband.”

Below is my excerpted translation of the 41-page Arabic-language paper by Dr. Hatem al-Haj entitled “Circumcision of Girls: Jurisprudence and Medicine” (see the original here and here):

The ruling on circumcision: Scholars have differed on the ruling on circumcision. They have agreed on its legitimacy for both sexes, but beyond that they have differed. Some–most famously the Shafi’ites–believe that it is obligatory for both sexes. Some believe it is obligatory for men only, and some believe it is recommended for both. At the very least it can be said that for women it is an honor, and for men it is sunnah [i.e. it is in accord with the tradition of Muhammad].

There are many hadiths on circumcision, some of which will be presented here along with the commentary of some scholars:

From Abi-Hurayra, who attributed it to the Prophet: “Five (acts of) al-fitrah [Islamic law or way of nature] are circumcision, shaving pubic hair, plucking armpit hair, trimming fingernails, and clipping the mustache.” Also from Abi-Hurayra: “The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Abraham was circumcised when he was 80 years old’.”’ Allah said: “So We have taught thee the inspired (Message), Follow the ways of Abraham the True in Faith” [Qur’an 16:123]. Also recorded in a hadith is the saying of (Muhammad) to a man who converted to Islam: “Remove your infidel hair and be circumcised.”

Muhammad also said regarding circumcision: “If you touch the two circumcisions, you must wash.” Here is evidence that women were circumcised, and therefore any of the hadiths on circumcision which do not specify men or women, can be assumed to apply to both.

From Sa’id bin Jabir: “Ibn ‘Abbas was asked, “How old were you when the Prophet (PBUH) died?” He replied, “At that time I had been circumcised. People (in those days) did not circumcise men until they reached puberty.” From the hadith of Umm ‘Atiyah–who used to circumcise girls–the Messenger of Allah said to her, “Reduce it, but do not remove too much, because it is more beautiful to behold and better for her husband.” This is the most explicit evidence in the hadiths of Muhammad for female circumcision being legitimate and even recommended. From Ibn ‘Abbas, attributing it to the Prophet: “Circumcision is sunnah for men and an honor for women.” This was narrated by al-Bayhaqi, and its attribution is weak.

Ibn al-Mundhir narrated from Abi-Barza: “We asked the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) about an uncircumcised man making pilgrimage to the Ka’aba. He replied, ‘No, not until he’s circumcised’.” This was considered a weak hadith by Ibn al-Mundhir and others.

There’s no doubt that among these hadiths there are those which are sound but do not explicitly command or urge women to become circumcised. There are also those which are met with disagreement by scholars, and these hadiths are more explicit in confirming the legitimacy of female circumcision. But the hadiths on the laws of al-fitrah which mention circumcision–and these are sound–do not mean that it is done on men only and not women. It is certain that circumcision includes both men and women, as is clearly stated in the hadith about touching the two circumcisions.

Below are words from scholars on the ruling on circumcision:

The Hanafis: Al-Zayla’i said: “The general ruling is that circumcision is sunnah, and is one of the trademarks of Islam. In fact, if the people of Egypt or some land decided to abandon its practice, the Imam would make war against them, for it cannot be abandoned except by necessity… Female circumcision is not sunnah, but it is an honor for men because it is more pleasing during sex” [ellipses in original].

The Malikites: From al-Kharshi’s brief summary of Khalil: “Its ruling (i.e. circumcision) is that it is sunnah for men, and it cuts off the foreskin. It is recommended for women, and is called khifad [reduction].”

The Shafi’ites: From [Asna al-Mutalib]: “Circumcision is obligatory (at puberty). The reasoning for this is the saying of the Almighty: “So We have taught thee the inspired (Message), Follow the ways of Abraham the True in Faith” [Qur’an 16:123]. In Abraham’s religion, circumcision was present. Also in the two Sahihs: “He was circumcised when he was eighty years old.” In Sahih Ibn Hibban, and in al-Hakim it was said 120 years, and it was also said 70 years. Also it was narrated by Abu-Dawud: “(The Prophet) (PBUH) ordered a man who converted to Islam to be circumcised.” They said that since he cut off a member which could not be replaced, it had to be obligatory like cutting off the hand. Since the man was injured during the process, he feared it. If it were not obligatory for him, then it would not have been permissible. This is unlike the circumcision of little boys, crazy people, and those who cannot endure it, because the first are too young to be required to do anything, and the last are harmed by it.” Al-Nawawi said in al-Majmu’: “Circumcision is obligatory for our men and women. This was stated by many of the salaf, as al-Khatabi relates. Ahmad was one of those who said it was obligatory. Malik and Abu-Hanifa said that it was sunnah for everyone. This was related by al-Rafi’i. He also related that (circumcision) is obligatory for men and sunnah for women. These were the two approaches of Shadhan, and of the sound and famous school of thought which was penned by al-Shafi’i, in which the multitude of scholars declared that circumcision is obligatory for men and women.”

The Hanbalis: From Ibn Muflih’s Furu’ [body of rules and regulations for man’s behavior]: “(According to Ahmad), circumcision is obligatory on all but women, for whom it is recommended. Our Shaykh said, ‘It is obligatory because cleanliness and prayer are obligatory’.” Ibn Qudama said: “Circumcision is a duty for men, and for women it is an honor, but it is not obligatory. This has been stated by many scholars.” Ahmad said: “The man is more difficult, because if the man is not circumcised, then the skin dangles over the [penis] and cannot be cleaned. But the woman is easier.”

The al-Mawsu’a al-Fiqhia (“The Encyclopedia of Jurisprudence”) summarizes scholars’ opinions on circumcision as follows:

“The ruling on circumcision: Scholars differ on circumcision as follows: First, the Hanafis and Malikites–and very rarely the Shafi’ites–hold to the opinion of what Ahmad said, that circumcision is sunnah for men but not a duty. It is one of the acts of al-fitrah, and one of the rituals of Islam. If the people of a particular land decided together to abandon its practice, the Imam would make war against them, just like if they abandoned the call to prayer. This also represents what the Malikites think about circumcision of women. Hanafis and Hanbalis consider female circumcision to be an honor and not sunnah. It is said by some Hanafis that it is also sunnah for [women], and some say that it is recommended. … Second, the Shafi’ites and Hanbalis, as is also stated by Sahnoun from the Malikites, believe that circumcision is a duty for both men and women. … Third, this is written by Ibn Qudama in al-Mughni, that circumcision is a duty for men, and for women it is an honor but not a duty” [ellipses in original].

Assessment

It appears that for male circumcision the most correct view is that it is obligatory, owing to the saying of Muhammad to the man who converted to Islam: “Remove your infidel hair and be circumcised.” This was obligatory–there was no alternative.

Regarding women, perhaps the most correct view is that it is recommended, however there is consensus that it is (at least) legitimate. Muhammad also endorsed it, as was narrated in the hadith of Umm ‘Atiyah, who used to circumcise girls. He said to her: “Reduce it, but do not remove too much, because it is more beautiful to behold and better for her husband.” He also said, “If you touch the two circumcisions, you must wash.” This shows that female circumcision was prevalent during his day, and he did not repudiate it. Nor did he stipulate anything else regarding female circumcision.

Perhaps the saying that it is (only) recommended is due to the pain women must go through to carry out the acts of al-fitrah, such as circumcision, as stated in the sound hadith. But as we mentioned, this is not evidence of it being confined only to men. The term circumcision was used for both men and women during Muhammad’s time. But it is clear that performing circumcision must be preferable to not performing it, especially when one considers that circumcision includes both pain and revealing one’s nakedness. Thus if there was no benefit to it, the Messenger of Allah would not have agreed to it. However there is still no evidence for making it obligatory. The fact that the Messenger of Allah agreed to it despite the pain and discovering one’s nakedness is not evidence for making it obligatory. Instead, this is evidence for preferring the action over not doing it, as we stated. (Muhammad’s) command to Umm ‘Atiyah is not a command to all women to (be circumcised), but rather he was regulating its practice. He was not telling her not to do it, he was telling her not to go too far and injure the women.

His command to the man who converted to Islam does not apply to women. Even though the principle is that “women are men’s sisters”, and women are often included when addressing men and vice versa, that only applies when there is no reason to differentiate between them. Here the issue is different for men and women. The man’s foreskin could trap urine at the end of it and affect his cleanliness. The issue is not the same for women. Therefore it is appropriate for this to be stressed more for men, and this is apparent in the words of scholars and the works of the ummah.

I have summed up the words of Muhammad and of scholars to show that circumcision is legitimate, and that the principal issue in the study is the limits of circumcision.

Health Petition: Revoke the Certifications of Hatem Elhagaly

Currently, Elhagaly is attempting to frame this movement in terms of his religion. This petition is solely focused on a doctor whose medical ethics are extremely questionable, and if ever put in practice, felonious–a doctor who should have no certifications in my state. I do not allege that Dr. Elhagaly has committed a felony. I point solely to the text on Elhagaly’s website itself, which outlines his views on FGM and do not contradict the statements of this petition.

Elhagaly attempts to justify his medical ethics by pointing to his religion and branding the signers of this petition Islamophobes. It should be clear by the content of this petition that our focus is the genital mutilation of children, not the doctor’s religion. Don’t be fooled: FGM is not something to be defended. It is a strange, barbaric, and often punitive act inflicted on young girls for the purposes of subjugation and control. Elhagaly, as stated openly on his website, is in favor of female circumcision. No matter how slight the cut, it is considered FGM, and is felony child abuse.

I don’t care what any doctor believes. I care what medicine he practices and promotes. And FGM isn’t medicine at all.

Dr. Elhagaly is no longer employed or caring for patients at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. We are working with his patients to transition their care to another physician. Because this is a personnel issue, we cannot comment further on Dr. Elhagaly’s employment status.

Female circumcision in children, referred to as female genital mutilation in U.S. legal statutes, is a felony-level child abuse crime. Mayo Clinic strongly opposes the procedure and it has never been performed at any Mayo Clinic facility.

Hatem Elhagaly (AKA “Hatem Al Haj”) worked as a doctor in Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Albert Lea, MN. His special interests are in child development.

He is also a proponent of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

In an Arabic-language paper entitled “Circumcision of Girls: Jurisprudence and Medicine” (original here and here), Elhagaly (AKA “Al Haj”) repeatedly points to the idea that FGM is “an honor” for women, ignoring FGM’s extremely detrimental effects on women’s health and the barbarity of the practice. He attempts to justify his ideas by referencing scholars from several schools of Islamic thought and also the words of Muhammad, including the idea that FGM is desirable “because it is more beautiful to behold and better for her husband.”

Hatem Elhagaly is already gone from his job at the Mayo Clinic. I now demand that the various medical boards that support him revoke his certifications.

Join with me in voicing your outrage. Together, we can insist that his board certifications in this country be revoked.

Remember: It doesn’t matter how “little” you cut a little girl’s vulva. It’s still felony child abuse.

Is Canada in the same position? Of course, as I have said, there is no difference between the teachings and the determination of Islam in Canada or the USA when compared to Islamic societies in Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan or any other Islamic society.

Admins 1389 and CzechRebel agree with the vast majority of Brigitte Gabriel’s speech, with these caveats:

1. There is nothing wrong with maintaining respect for your ancestral homeland by referring to yourself as an [ethnic]-American – as long as you do not indulge in identity politics by demanding special privileges in that regard.
2. English cannot be the sole official language throughout the US, for both historical and practical reasons. For instance, the US territory of Puerto Rico is predominantly Spanish-speaking. The state of New Mexico has always had two official languages, English and Spanish; this has been the case since its inception in 1912.
