With Blogger, you don't have to do a thing. I remember a few months back a very popular blogger did not update the Wordpress software and hackers were able to inject spam into their blog - lost tons of rankings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;The code is clean, loads quickly, and is SEO friendly.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Our customers are in the business of running their ecommerce site. They do not want to be fussing with their blog all the time. With Blogger - set it and done. Just add content!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Blogger is owned by Google - Enough said&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Now, let's talk about Google&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Google loves content. More importantly, Google loves FRESH content.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Google is in business just like you and me. Their business is to provide users with the best possible results for their search.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What happens if you do not find the results you are looking for in Google? What happens if Google does not provide you the latest updates and all of the information they provide you is old news?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You leave Google for Bing or Yahoo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;None of us want to lose our customers to the competition and Google is no exception.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So provide Google with what it wants and what it needs. Provide Google with the best content you can. Make it unique. Make it awesome and Google WILL come.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;FAQ&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Do you have a high PR? Nope. Our blog has a page rank of 4.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Do you have tons of links to your website? Nope. I think we have 68 links and 99% of those links are from our main website.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What type of feed service do you use? &lt;a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.feedburner.com/"&gt;FeedBurner&lt;/a&gt; - again owned by Google&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;What does it come down to then Shawna?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sorry to disappoint, but it really comes down to making sure you provide great content to Google. It comes down to providing Google consistent content. Keep updating your blog and let Google know that you are providing unique content constantly.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is no magic pill for Google. It's a nice way to do your reputation management as well as learn when Google picks up your new pages.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So yesterday I created a new post &lt;a href="http://blog.1choice4yourstore.com/2009/11/new-webinar-webinar-create-holiday.html"&gt;New Webinar - Create a Holiday Twitter Background&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I published this post at 4:09 PM.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;&lt;img src="http://site.1choice4yourstore.com/2009/google-8-minutes.png" /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I received my email alert from Google.... &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(195, 0, 27);"&gt;8 MINUTES later&lt;/span&gt;!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Take a look at the Google alert. It is marked at 4:17pm&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;&lt;img src="http://site.1choice4yourstore.com/2009/google-8-minutes2.png" /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I sat there in shock for quite some time. I mean come on... really? Can Google really pick up that blog post in 8 MINUTES!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So then I thought, well surely it is just in the blogs area. There is no way it is in the main search.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was wrong.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;&lt;img src="http://site.1choice4yourstore.com/2009/google-8-minutes3.png" /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Amazing&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That was the only word I could come up with. 8 minutes to reach the web.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then I started looking closer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you take a look at the image above, it is marked with the time of 4:27 PM and it states that the page was from 16 minutes ago.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Which means Google came and grabbed that page after &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(195, 0, 27);"&gt;2 MINUTES&lt;/span&gt;!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;So how long did it take Google to index our new post?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2 minutes&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Want to know our secret sauce for getting Google to index us in 2 minutes flat?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well my friends... You put the item in your cart and get ready to check out.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then you see the following:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"If you have a Coupon / Promotional code that can be redeemed from this store, please enter the offer code in the box below."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;&lt;img src="http://site.1choice4yourstore.com/2009/11-10-2009-coupon.png" /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Wait, I do not have a coupon. Should I have a coupon? Should I search for a coupon? Should I wait to purchase my item until I have a coupon?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your customers should be focusing on completing the sale and not whether or not they have a coupon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I interviewed Mike Ober on our weekly show &lt;a href="http://www2.webmasterradio.fm/ecom-experts/"&gt;Ecom Experts&lt;/a&gt; who provided some AWESOME advice -&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Put a link next to the coupon box that says, "See current offers"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;BRILLIANT!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Offer your customers a bonus and save the sale!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So let's go into Checkout Manager and create that link in our Yahoo Store!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;From the Checkout Manager - Click on Page Configuration&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now make sure that you are on the Shopping Cart tab or if you use a single page check out the tab will be Single-Page Checkout&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;&lt;img src="http://site.1choice4yourstore.com/2009/11-10-2009-coupon1.png" /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;From here we want to click on the small radio button next to Coupon Code / Promotional Code. Then we will click the Add Button.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;&lt;img src="http://site.1choice4yourstore.com/2009/11-10-2009-coupon2.png" /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For Field Display Name, let's put in something we will remember. I will put in Current Offers Link.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I will also choose Do Not Display Field Name in Checkout.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have a choice to put the link above or below the section. I will put it at the Bottom of the Section.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For Field Type, I will choose Plain Text so I can put in some basic html for the link to my current offers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now I will click Next.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="center"&gt;&lt;img src="http://site.1choice4yourstore.com/2009/11-10-2009-coupon3.png" /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now let's put in our link.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For Field Id I used CurrentOffers&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For the plain text, copy the code below BUT CHANGE MYDOMAIN TO YOUR DOMAIN:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;textarea cols="60" rows="5"&gt;&lt;a target="_blank" href="http://www.MYDOMAIN.com/current-offers.html"&gt;See current offers&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/textarea&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The html code above will open a new window and send your customers to a page called Current Offers. You need to make sure that your shipping policies are clearly stated and are easy for your customer to understand.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Most people are looking for free shipping online. They are willing to pay a few extra dollars in order to avoid paying for shipping.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;BUT every store is unique. Every store has their own unique customers. What works for one store may not work for yours. TEST TEST TEST&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Remember.... This news also means that online retailers need to make sure their website is ready for conversions.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, let's discuss some other interesting information.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First - download a free copy of the white paper &lt;a href="http://multichannelmerchant.com/whitepaper/0831_Akami_ecommerce_whitepaper/"&gt;eCommerce Web Site Performance Today.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is a fascinating study conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of Akamai Technologies, Inc.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here are some of the findings:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;88% of online shoppers indicated they are likely to return to a site that is easy to use&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;74% of online shoppers want assurances that their information is safe&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;57% of online shoppers want a rapid check out process&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;As Chris Malta discussed during our interview, you want to relate the online shopping experience the same as when you go into a retail store.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Imagine yourself in the following scenario:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You head to your local electronics store to purchase an item for your computer that you need right away. You need to get in and get out. You are not sure which item to purchase and there is clearly no help in site. You look for someone to assist you, but they all seem to have disappeared.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You decide on an item anyway and head over to check out. The first thing they ask you is if you belong to their rewards program. When you say no, they try to convince you to join and be a part of the club. You have to sign up and be a member. All you wanted to do was purchase the item and get out of the store.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The next time you need an item from an electronics store, will you go back to the members only store or go find a new store? Will you go find a new store that has placed customer service representatives where you can find them? Will you find a new store that allows you to check out quickly?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now let's turn this around and think about our own online stores. If a customer needs help, make sure your customer service phone number or links are clearly visible. Make sure the customer can easily find this information without having to search. When the customer finds what they need and they are ready to check out, do not require them to log in or create an account. Get the sale! In fact, if could move there... I WOULD! It is beautiful. It is quiet.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is no cell phone service and you are lucky to get internet.
