Young

Irrigation & sprinkler supplies such as PVC fittings and PVC pipe are manufactured by many different companies. Other materials such as irrigation sprinkler heads and timers have fewer competitors, but still a small variety to choose from. The most popular irrigation supplies manufacturers are Rainbird, Toro, Nelson, and Hunter. Orbit is a close runner-up in the hardware store market.

You have a decision to make when planning out and installing a lawn irrigation system in your yard. You want your landscape irrigation system to be something you can easily understand how to adjust and work with; you don't want something that is so complicated that you can do anything with! With this in mind, it is important to choose a brand of products that come with comprehensive user manuals that are easy to follow.

You want to choose a company that stands behind their products with warranties. You want to choose a company that has customer service available to answer questions about their products. Not all companies provide this service, so it is up to you to investigate and make sure you understand what you are buying. If you choose an inferior brand just to try and save a few dollars, it will end up costing you more money in the long run due to maintenance issues.

When deciding what brand of sprinklers and irrigation products you are going to use with your in ground lawn irrigation system it is important to keep all the above information in mind. If you feel comfortable with the products you are going to install for you lawn irrigation system, you will not get frustrated trying to figure everything out on your own if you run into problems.

Finding replacement parts for generic brand sprinklers is next to impossible. Purchase name brand parts from true irrigation suppliers, not from the 'do-it-yourself' home stores. The big name stores like Lowes, Home Depot, and Ace Hardware are good for a lot of things, but if you are purchasing enough materials to build a new sprinkler system you can normally get a better deal from an irrigation wholesaler. You'll also get more knowledgeable advice from the people who specialize in irrigation parts.

If you are looking to find an irrigation wholesale store near you just pick up the phone book or do a quick Online search. In my area we use a store called 'Tieco'. Other popular irrigation stores are John Deere Landscapes and Ewing Irrigation. All of these stores will deliver the parts and pipe to you, normally for free when you have a big enough order. This way you don't have to worry about how to get the 20 foot long pieces of pipe to your house or hassle with 10 foot sections of pipe that the 'do it yourself' stores sell.

Scott Young is owner/manager of Advanced Irrigation Systems, Inc. in Northwest Florida. He is also author of the best selling sprinkler system book called "How To Build Your Own Automatic Lawn Sprinkler System." My grandparents were avid gardeners, and I remember the big jar painted white sitting on the counter to collect food for the compost pile. Once it was filled, my granddad would take it out to the compost bin and turn in, creating a rich soil. Although he composted, I was not introduced to chicken poop fertilizer until I was much older.

I was lucky to grow up with an awareness of composting, and once I moved and started a garden of my own, I had to investigate composting and fertilizing on my own, including chicken manure fertilizer. I went through quite a few plants that I "buried" instead of planted, since I did not take the time to invest in the right soil.

After a friend told me about chicken poop fertilizer as a great organic compound, I had to investigate on HOW to use, of all things, chicken poop! I had never heard of such a thing from my city grandparents, since ours was all turned food products mixed with dirt.

Upon reading up, I discovered that chicken manure fertilizer is the richest in nutrients of the animal manures. Because of the high content of nutrients, it's"hot manure". This means it will burn your plants if you just sprinkle it around. It works best to compost this manure before using it.

I had to learn how to compost with chicken poop fertilizer. It only took a few weeks for me to figure out what "burned" plants looked like from too much chicken manure fertilizer without enough other organic compounds.

In order to get your soil prepared with the chicken poop, add it to other organic ingredients. This can be vegetable and fruit leftovers, eggshells, coffee grounds, leaves and sticks. If you start in the fall and keep turning it, it will turn to rich looking dirt. Turn this into the ground when you till your garden, and the results with your chicken manure fertilizer will be amazing!

Experienced gardeners will tell you that you must use it when it is dry, not wet. Harvest the chicken poop yourself, or buy it from local farmers. If you raise the chickens anyway, then you might as well reap the benefits of the chicken poop.

As an aside, chickens also provide a great natural form of pest control and are very personable as pets. So if you have thought about using chicken poop fertilizer, there are more reasons than just the droppings to start a brood.

Now that I have incorporated chicken poop manure into my gardening, my potted plants and outdoor gardens have thrived. Try chicken manure fertilizer, just do it wisely to get the best results. Get the best vegetables and flower production from your plants possible - all while doing it "green" and using organic fertilizers.

Suzie O'Connor is the owner of Chickenhousesplus.com who manufacturers Custom Built Chicken Houses and Chicken Coops in Central Florida, we also carry Fertile Chicken Eggs and Incubators for the homeowner who would like to start raising their own chickens for fresh eggs.

Using a good quality used wooden garden shed can be as good as new especially if you know how to use it right. Purchasing a used shed can however be a tricky business. You have to examine well before you pay for a used shed. Sometimes if the shed is in such a bad condition, the price of repairing and maintenance of the storage shed can amount up to so much that you end up paying more than you can afford.

The first step that goes into ensuring that you buy a good quality used wooden garden shed is to purchase it from someone who is reliable and trustworthy. You can also get good quality used sheds online. In fact, with the internet you will be able to have a wider range of choices. To ensure that you are not duped, you need to know some important facts about purchasing wooden garden sheds. For instance you will be able to decide on the condition of the shed if you know its age. Also, other equally helpful information will be the materials used for the shed, how it was used by the previous owners, and why they are selling it.

There are also websites that offer history of the seller and ratings to make sure you are getting your money's worth. With an online purchase, you will need to pay online. So, make sure that the payment methods are secure so that you are not duped. A more preferable option would be those websites where they offer buyers' protection. There are also those that offer money back guarantee if the customer is not satisfied with the product and wish a return. With these simple precautions, you will not only protect yourself but also land yourself a good quality used wooden garden shed, all from the comfort of your own home!

If you have neighbors or anybody you know in your locality who are selling used wooden garden sheds, it will be a better option for you. The advantage is that you will be able to check the product before deciding to buy it. Try to buy one that has not been repainted or refurnished, so that you are getting one that has been less damaged.

Especially while buying a wooden garden shed, make sure it is not rotting. Plastic sheds are cheaper than the others but do not buy them if they are cracked and have dents all over it. This means the durability factor has become less. The best merchandise you can get is when the owners are selling their used items simply for the reason that they want to change things in the house. In this case, you may be expected to pay a little more but it will also ensure that you will not need to spend money on any repairs.

With these simple steps, you will not need any external assistance to buy a good quality used shed even if you are just a beginner.

For a good place to find out more information and advice on Garden Sheds CLICK HERE you will even have a chance to check out loads of free shed plans.

http://www.squidoo.com/wooden-garden-sheds-to-build-or-buy

Not only is it stylish it is also remarkably well priced. It is easy to care for and really needs quite minimal maintenance.

However, we should ensure that we do not sacrifice quality for price. It is important that we bear a few important things in mind before we buy wicker or rattan outdoor furniture.

Ensure that the quality is not low. This means that the weave should be extremely tight and that the materials that they are made form are of good quality. Outdoor rattan is actually synthetic and not made from this material at all. It is normally a high quality synthetic material that is still weaved in a traditional manner.

It should have been treated to ensure that it is moisture repellent and that it has anti-fungal properties. This means that it will last for decades and hold it shape very well. It is then a very easy matter of simply running a soft brush over it to get rid of any dirt in the weave.

We can then simply give it a wipe over with a soft cloth that is moist but not too wet. This will pick up any additional dirt that accumulates without needing to dry it. Never buy anything too cheap as it will most likely be of an inferior quality and will not last very well.

If you follow these few tips then the furniture will be with you for decades. This is important as buying to cheaply can be a total false economy if it needs replacing in a few years. Get good quality rattan garden furniture whenever possible.

For rattan garden furniture please see the cheap rattan furniture site where you can buy rattan furniture for the garden at discount prices.

This is done by recycling and conserving water, but living "green" can go beyond this - even your garden can be designed to be eco-friendly.

Reel Lawn Mowers: these lawn mowers are muscle-powered, which means there is no engine. This is definitely an eco-friendly alternative to gas-powered rotary mowers and a great way to conserve energy. They do the job, while saving energy and keeping the air clean. They make cutting long grass hard, but they are safe, quiet, save money by being low maintenance and do not pollute.

Healthy Soil: Keeping your soil healthy with fertilizer rich in organic matter reduces maintenance and will ultimately save large amounts of water. Some soil can keep water for longer. Healthy soil means increased life for your plants.

Recycle what you already have: By using rocks, bricks, wood and other discarded materials from your garden, you will not have to buy more to give your garden character and this will prevent the need for elements that breaks down nature in the manufacturing process. Pollution is reduced and fewer trees are cut for decoration.

Use regionally native plants: by using mostly native plants, you make maintenance easier and more cost-effective, because they will grow easier. They are adapted to the environment and will attract beneficial insects and wildlife. It will provide a better habitat for surrounding plants and animals.

Do not use harmful chemicals: chemicals like pesticides disturb the balance in the environment and can kill some plants and animals while polluting the ground and water. There are many natural alternatives, like certain fertilizers that repel insects.

Time watering correctly: water your garden at night or early in the morning. This will save large amounts of water, because watering at the hottest part of the day will cause water to evaporate and your plants can dry out.

Plant trees in strategic places: you can easily save energy by planting larger trees on the north side of your house. This will help keep the house cool in summer and warm in winter, when shedding trees will let sunlight through. Plants evergreens where winds are known to blow and this will further save energy in winter by reducing heating measures you will have to take.

Making your garden edible: if you plant your own vegetables and certain plants and spices usable in food, you will help the environment by reducing the toll farming takes. Make sure you correctly place plants that grow well together.

Lights that save: if you have garden lighting, equip them with motion detectors and solar-powered capabilities to save energy. Take it a step further and make your whole house solar powered.

Mulching: place mulching around plants and trees to keep moisture locked in for longer. If you use environmentally friendly materials, like coconut fibre mats, bark or shredded "green" paper, it will decompose and not pollute the environment.

You can, by re-designing your landscape, make the earth cleaner and be more sensitive towards the environment.

Are you ready to turn your outdoor space into a natural haven of beauty and tranquility? There are many different hydroponic systems, from ebb and flood to top-drip, aeroponics and more. You can choose from a variety of methods, but the basics still always apply. To begin we recommend getting a complete grow cabinet hydroponic system. The grow box, or cabinet system is an enclosed and fine-tuned environment designed specifically to grow plants. If you are interested in indoor gardening, you can't make a much sounder choice than a hydroponic grow cabinet.

These cabinets come with a variety of components, from lighting to fans, and obviously a hydroponic growing system. They are durable and easily movable so you never have to worry about it falling apart, and you can take it with you when you move. The high intensity lighting is like the sun, and comes in the correct wattage for the grow box. The hydroponic bucket or tray is your main source of feeding and can easily be switched out and cleaned. This contains only water and nutrients.

How do I start?

There are generally three stages in hydroponic gardening.

The first stage is the mother/clone area. Place your first few plants or heirloom mothers here. It's often a good idea to keep these in small soil containers if they will not be flowering. This area has fluorescent lighting conditions in the grow box. You want to take cuttings from your mother plants and use the clone area. Your clones will start small but quickly grow into large plants, while the mother can be trimmed back and re-potted.

The second stage is the vegetative stage, where your plants start growing bigger. They can remain in this stage until you deem them big enough, or until they mature a bit. This area also has its own fluorescent lighting system. The grow box has three different areas for growth and thus three lights for each.

The third and final phase is the flowering period. The small plants are put in the flowering area and go into either ebb and flow table or into top drip containers depending on your choice. The lighting in this area is made specifically for flowering plants and contains a more red spectrum which encourages flowering growth. As the next month or two passes you'll see the plants blossom with growth and change drastically.

Once the plants reach full maturity you can harvest them. This is the best part about an indoor grow, as you can continually harvest your favorites all year round.

Who to choose?
If you are interested in a grow closet or starting an indoor hydroponic grow, you should consider a complete grow closet first. Building your own space can be rewarding but often challenging, resulting in an amateur design that's not portable by any means. Supercloset is the most reputable dealer in grow closets, winning awards year after year for their innovative designs. Their closets come in all different sizes to fit anyone's needs. Many people enjoy lying on a teak chaise lounge chair in front of the pool or just out in the sunlight so that they can get a tan. A teak chaise lounge chair will last a very long time if it is properly cared for. Also the durable nature of teak means that even if the chair is allowed to weather naturally to its silvery grey color, the durability and other beneficial effects of teak will continue. No matter what kind of teak chaise lounge chair you purchase, there are a few considerations to keep in mind when shopping.

Style

Most teak chase lounge chairs offer fairly similar styles, although there are a few differences among the various chairs. The biggest difference is whether you want a chair with straighter lines and more exacting angles or if you prefer a chair with smooth curves. It all comes down to exactly what your personal preference is. Also keep in mind the look of your other outdoor furniture. If you are purchasing the lounge chair separately, try to find one that does not look much different than your other furniture.

Another element of style is whether or not the teak lounge chair is adjustable. Some chairs are just very basic, and they cannot be adjusted. Others have an adjustable back that can be raised and lowered, while others have adjustable legs that can either raise or lower the knees. Some chairs even have both options. Also some chairs have wheels on one end. This is to help with moving the chair around.

Color

One thing that is very important to understand when shopping for teak chaise lounge chairs is the fact that some of the chairs you might see will probably be stained. It is not always necessary to stain a teak chair, and some people actually prefer the weathered teak look, which comes after about six to nine months. Just remember that if you do purchase a natural teak chair and then stain it, you will have to sand the chair main times if you ever desire to get rid of the stain.

Cushions

While some chairs do not necessarily need cushions to provide comfort, there are a few teak chaise lounge chairs that will need a cushion. Cushions can come in many different colors, and they can be the perfect solution to pairing a new chair with older furniture. Sometimes a matching cushion is all that is needed to tie the separate pieces of furniture together. Just remember to purchase a cushion that is waterproof and always try to pick the cushions up before it rains. The chair will be able to handle the changing weather, but cushions are not as durable as a good piece of teak furniture.

Price

Of course price is always important whenever you are making a major purchase like a piece of furniture. However, sometimes it can be difficult to determine when the best time to purchase furniture is. In the case of an outdoor teak chaise lounge chair, usually the best time is in the late fall or early winter. This is the time when most retailers are trying to empty all of the summer merchandise out of their warehouses. They are anxious to get rid of their outdoor lounge chairs, so it is usually a great time to buy.

Always remember to purchase furniture in a retail store where you can actually see the furniture yourself. This will give you a chance to sit in it and test the quality of the piece.

Author Jennifer Akre is an owner of a wide variety of online specialty shops including that offer both items and information on how you can easily furnish and decorate your space. However, if left to the rigors of nature, a beautifully built wood fence can become a haven for pests and parasites that can destroy your hard work.

The most notorious wood-destroying offenders come in the form of carpenter bees, termites and carpenter ants. These three species of insects are bent on using your wood fencing as their personal stomping grounds, and if not dealt with, they will have their way. In order to keep your wood fence safe, you will need to know how to identify these pests and protect your fence from an invasion.

Carpenter Bees

Carpenter bees create nests and lay eggs in different wooden structures, especially those that have been neglected and exposed to the weather. This makes wood fencing a preferred nesting spot for carpenter bees.

Carpenter bees are fairly large. They are similar in appearance to bumblebees, but can be distinguished by their solid black abdomen, which has a greenish-purple sheen. The appearance of carpenter bees is quite intimidating, but it is important to note that the males cannot bite or sting, while females will only sting when they are handled directly.

Carpenter bees damage wood fences by boring holes deep into the wood. They do this to create breeding chambers for laying their eggs. These holes can be spotted by their size, which is about the size of a dime. One hole is not enough to cause any significant damage to your wood fence, but when it becomes more densely populated, the wood will begin to weaken and become vulnerable to damage from other pests.

In order to control an outbreak of carpenter bees, take measures to seal up any burrowed holes that you see. This can be done by using a liquid sealant to fill in the hole, and then covering the entrance with wood putty or steel wool. Pesticides can be used in cases where carpenter bee nesting is extreme.

Termites

Termites are another threat to the security of your fencing materials. There are several kinds of termites, each with different characteristics and behavior:

Damp wood termites. Damp wood termites are more prone to feeding from stumps and dead limbs of trees. These termites love wooded areas with a constant supply of moisture.

Subterranean termites. These are smaller in size than damp wood termites. They usually appear to be grayish-white and are around three-sixteenths of an inch long.

Dry wood termites. Dry wood termites are the kinds of termites that can cause a lot of damage to movable wooden objects like furniture, as they require no contact with soil to live. And unlike the damp wood termite, they feast on un-decayed wood with low moisture.

There are several ways to treat a termite infestation. One way to use a liquid termite treatment that kills or repels the insects. Another is to use termite baits. These work by spreading small amounts of pesticides through the worker class. Borate termite treatment is applied directly to the wood like a coat of paint. One of the best methods against the dry wood termite is to use fumigation. This is an efficient method of stopping termites that are hard to spot.

Carpenter Ants

The next biggest threat to your wood fence is the carpenter ant. These pests nest in moist wood, such as rotting trees, tree roots, stumps, and logs. Carpenter ants are known for establishing "satellite" nests away from their parent nests. These nests do not require moisture, and they can be found in insulation, doors and wood. The workers move between the satellite colony and the parent colony. In late summer, the queens and males may appear winged and emerge from the satellite colonies. They can invade structures in late winter and early spring from their satellite nests.

To keep carpenter ants from infesting, it is important to keep moisture content low. Any moisture damaged wood will have to go, or you risk a carpenter ant infestation. Firewood should be stored in a garage or shed to keep it dry and provide air circulation. Tree and shrub stumps and roots should be removed, as should low overhanging branches.

~Ben Anton, 2010

Read more about protecting your wood fencing from wood-destroying pests on the Wood Fences Northwest website, a resource for Northwest homeowners.

They're so tough they've actually outlasted whole civilizations. They're a true art form, equally popular with ancient kings and modern homeowners. Modern mosaics are made with hard stone, notably quartzite, one of the most versatile stones around. Most of the modern pattern mosaics you see are made of this dazzling stone.

Mosaics and stonework

Mosaics and stone are a good match of media. Mosaics are designed step by step as pictures, and then reproduced in stone. This can be very demanding work, requiring tiny pieces of stone to produce color effects and shades. The pieces of the mosaic are painstakingly laid, one at a time.

Complex mosaics may require thousands of pieces of stone. In some cases even small gems are used to produce highlights, echoing classical techniques. Pattern or abstract mosaics may use much larger stones, creating mosaic features throughout the stonework. The most popular commercial designs are symmetrical features, using templates to create a series of designs in the stone tiling.

Quartzite and design

Quartzite is a perfect stone for mosaics. It's extremely hard, colorful, and a reliable medium when set in stone. This combination of characteristics makes it perfect for any sort of design, however ambitious. It's also a highly textured stone, providing excellent quality for even individual pieces.

Quartzite designs may be obtained as either ready made designs, matched to a choice of stone flooring, or designer pieces made specifically for a predetermined area in the floor space. These complex designs have to be commissioned and planned in advance, to allow the stone laying and mosaic placement to be coordinated.

Mosaic art

Mosaics are a highly developed art form. The main exponents of mosaic art for stone flooring in its original form were the Romans, who used them as features throughout huge buildings. The Pompeii mosaics are almost at the standard of portrait art, using tiny colored stones to make startlingly lifelike pictures of people and legendary characters. The early Christian church revived them as decorative features in cathedrals, and Islamic art created masterpieces of floral designs.

Modern mosaics have taken on a range of artistic forms, including large portrait-styles and the highly stylized forms of patterned stone used by designers, which can include very complex interwoven patterns and separate picture pieces.

Getting help and advice for your mosaics

Getting the mosaic you want is easier than it may seem. If you've got an idea for a mosaic, or want to explore your options for having pre-designed mosaic designs, you can get advice easily.

Custom mosaics: You can arrange the process through a mosaic artist. They'll need to see your design idea, and give you a quote for the work. The installation will need specifications, to set aside space for the design in the stonework.

Pre-designed mosaics: There's a big range of these designs, and some are quite beautiful. Mosaics can be installed by good stone suppliers, and you may be surprised at the range of designs available.

Mosaics can be laid anywhere, adding their unique style to an environment.

They're still one of the most popular art forms in the world.

Bellstone is a specialist supplier of premium quality natural stone tiles, pavers & roofing slate to architects, landscape architects, builders, renovators and retailers. Clarke

More and more people are now going green by finding products made from organic materials. This will help them do their part of protecting the environment by producing organic pillows. These pillows are considered to be something better than what you can get online from other stores because of their hypoallergenic properties. This will not only provide support but also beneficial in helping people in taking care of their allergy problems.

Compared to what foams and other pillow materials, these pillows use buckwheat hulls as the main pillow material. These hulls are the main key why they have the hypoallergenic ability since they can prevent mold and mildew growth that can cause allergic reaction to people.

If you plan to order these pillows for your personal use, you may want to know the following information first so you will get the best pillow for you.

1. Take note of the sizes. Many people believe that bigger is better. This is not always the case especially when it comes to buckwheat hull pillows. People like large pillows because of perceived better comfort but you must stick on smaller pillows if you will get buckwheat pillows. Larger pillows can be heavier in weight and may not really give you the best support that you need for comfortable sleep.

2. Know the properties of the pillow material. You will read that many reviews about organic pillows with it being uncomfortable since the hulls can be hard to sleep on. If you are very particular in both softness and support, you may want to choose the pillows that may have additional lining or thicker pillow covers so the hulls will be comfortable for you.

3. Adjustability. One of the things that people like about air mattresses is that they can customize it to their preferred softness. In adjusting the firmness or softness of your organic hull pillows, you may want to look for those that will allow you to remove or add hulls to meet the comfortable softness that you want. This will let you sleep comfortably at night.

These are some of your guides in choosing these buckwheat hull pillows. Remember that there are lots of manufacturers in the market and they offer different features on their pillows. Compare the things they offer to finally see the right pillows for your personal preference.

Getting buckwheat hull pillows will give you comfortable sleep. One of the best spinning composter is the Back Porch Compost Tumbler.

Compost tumblers are easier to use than most other types of bins. The decomposing heap needs to be turning periodically to expedite the decomposition process. A spinning composter easily turns the decomposing pile. What makes the Back Porch Compost Tumbler superior to others?

1. Size. Most bins are large. As such, they can take up quite of bit of yard space. If you have a small property, or if you live in an apartment (with a back porch or a terrace), this could be a problem for you. The Back Porch Compost Tumbler is small and will likely fit into most people's homes or apartments easier than other units.

2. Mobility. The spinning composter has wheels and a handle. Most bins are fixed in their place and you have to get a wheelbarrow or some other bin to move the compost to its ultimate location. This bin, because of its wheels and handle is easily moved around your property, so you can place it right where you want to use the compost, and empty as much as you need for that location, and then move on to the next location.

3. Capacity. Even though it is compact in size, it can still hold quite a bit of compost. There are several models, each hold at least 37 gallons of compost material.

As you can see, the spinning composter is probably the best choice for you, and the Back Porch Compost Tumbler may be the best of the "heap."

Click here for the Back Porch Compost Tumbler.

But one of the main reasons that people have been hanging plants upside down is simply the ability to grow more plants in smaller places. The process of upside down gardening allows people to enjoy vegetables and fruits on patio, small backyard and other urban settings. It also reduces your care to regular watering and some feedings. It eliminates weeding and tilling.

Here is our step by step process:

1. Select containers - To get started you simply need buckets or even two liter soda bottles. I have seen everything from five gallon buckets to recycled plants pots to two liter bottles. Pick the container that best fits the space you are going to use for hanging these containers.

2. Clean the containers - The containers need to be clean and several web sites have suggested that you put one tablespoon of bleach into the container and then fill with water. After sloshing the liquid around inside the container, empty it out and rinse out the bucket. Let it dry before doing the next steps.

3. Cut the hole in bucket for the plant - Most people who have grown into avid container gardeners prefer the five-gallon buckets. Most of us have them in our garage and they are sturdy. (Be careful of using containers with plastic handles that may not be sturdy.) Cut a two inch hole in the bottom of the bucket for larger plants or cut several two inch holes in the side of the bucket for multiple smaller plants. From these hole the plant will hang from the bucket or other holder.

4. Prepare hole with plant and coffee filter - Using a coffee filter or newspaper to hold back dirt, place the plant into hole, with roots going inside the bucket, (make sure that the plant roots remain covered by original soil.)

5. Add potting soil, or peat moss into container and moisten soil all the way through the container. And from this point forward make sure that your container is kept moist and you will be provided with great, home-grown vegetables and fruits.

Make sure that containers are placed out of windy areas, but in a sunny location that will give the plants the light they need to grow.

Kanarra Creek Seed Company offers quality, 100% non-hybrid, non-GMO heirloom and open-pollinated seeds. Marek

One of the main problems of consumer is that lots of them cannot really have the items that will last for a long time. But the truth is that they are not just able to maintain their home appliances like an outdoor misting fan. Remember that if you have not maintained it properly, it will cause them to be damaged easily.

How to do maintenance on an outdoor misting fan? First, you have to keep them unplugged when you don't use them. This will not only save you money from electricity that is still consumed because it's still plugged on it. Aside from this, you will also prevent people from accidents due to trips.

Next, make sure to regularly clean the fan's filters. These filters will protect you from getting too much allergen since they will block the dusts and other potential dirt. The problem is that they will affect its function once they have accumulated on the filter. In cleaning the filters of your outdoor misting fan, make sure to check the manuals as their filters may be different from other models. You have to make sure that you will get the properly way of dismantling from their manuals. There will also be times when there is a need for you to change its filters at a regular process as advised on the manuals.

Finally, you may also need to get a warranty for your outdoor misting fan. The good thing about warranties is that they can last for a year, meaning it will protect your fan for at least one winter or cold season. As you know, the main opponent of your electrical appliances at home is moist and cold weather so it may be better if you will get them protected at least for one season.

So if you will look closely, maintaining your outdoor misting fan is just very simple. As long as you will do it regularly, you will not have any problems with it in the process. You just have to ensure that you will follow every instruction on the manual, you will maintain it easily.

These are just some of the maintenance procedures that you can do to keep your misting fan working properly. This will make your fan work continuously for a very long time and can live up to its name as a good investment for your home and patio in terms of its use.

Maintaining your outdoor misting fan is just a simple task to do. The main reason is that blue is difficult to find genetically as no single pigment produces a true blue. Of course, the holy grail among the elusive garden blues is probably the legendary and sought after 'blue rose' . It even appears in myths from the Slavic regions right across to China.

It may have been 'found' by the Australian CSIRO and the research arm of the Japanese company Suntory - but is it really blue? It has involved manipulation of the genes in what is beyond me to understand! The problem with most 'blue' flowers is that are not really blue - they range form varying shades of what on a color wheel we would call purple, lavender magenta or violet.

What does seem true is that those that are blue come from and need cold climates or at least cool nights in the summer. Such as the Himalayan blue poppies, the Alpine forget-me-nots and gentians. Introducing blue colored flowers into a garden gives it a more relaxing 'feel' as they are cool tones and just perfect for a summer garden. Having said that these can be grown in the temperate zones if they don't get a full afternoon sun, but still sufficient in the morning to keep them flowering.

With some 'blue' flowers, if you look at them closely, you can see that they are really a very dark purple which the play of sunlight shows them up as blue - the one that got me started on blue flowers was lobelia midnight blue - but it really belongs to the dark purple color range.

However, 'lobelia riviera blue' is for all intents and purposes are true sky blue - regardless of its pigments, genes or whatevers - to the eye it is a real blue! Nurseries and flower cultivators have often called some flowers 'blue' to target the market which seeks blue flowers. The best example of this is the blue agapanthus - which to my mind and eye is not a blue - but belongs to the lavender/mauve range.

Other flowers that can produce blooms which are blue or close to it:

Corn Flowers
Buddleia
Clematis (Traveler's Joy)
Pansies and violas
Delphiniums and larkspurs
Veronica
Aquilegia (columbines)
Johnson blue geranium
Campanula
Salvia
Phlox
Gentians (septemfida) (difficult, but spectacular color in trumpet shape blooms)
Blue hydrangeas (you have to add an aluminium based fertiliser to change from pink to blue)

Planting 'blue' flowers amongst lavender or mauve roses is subtly beautiful or they can provide great contrast with red or yellow roses. My recommendations for the elusive garden blues are the poppy, lobelias, gentians, forget-me-nots, hydrangeas and delphiniums. If you plant the others next to them, you will see how 'blue' they are.... or not!

Would you like to learn more or keep updated for tips about gardening? This is where some growers have come unstuck. They have not pruned early enough on the plants that need it and then are not sure how to handle the situation. In other cases they may have pruned plants that should not have been pruned and ended up with very few tomatoes to show for their efforts.

Understanding which plants to prune.

It is the indeterminate tomato plant (the larger varieties) that needs pruning because for the life of the plant it will keep producing suckers at the leaf nodes. Some growers may allow two or three suckers to develop into full stems with the intention of providing more fruit, but not usually more than that, otherwise the plant won't be able to feed the fruit sufficiently and they will be smaller rather than larger. Although I must say, I have seen photos of tomato plants that show the plant to have been more like a tropical vine rather than a tomato plant. Goodness knows what the success rate is of the fruiting of the plant.

Start with removing the lower 4 to 5 leaves as this will push the nutrients higher up the plant for stronger growth and it will also make watering and fertilizing the plant easier.

Pruning requires the sucker to be removed at the leaf node (where the leaf joins the main stem).

There basically are two methods of pruning:

1. The simple method
2. The Missouri method

Some simple rules to follow when pruning tomato plants using the Simple Method:

· If possible just use your finger tips to remove the suckers, rather than a knife or scissors that will leave a stump behind that can easily become infected. If the suckers are very small they only need bending backwards and forwards and they will easily break off at the right place.

· If at all possible pinch the sucker when it is only about 2 inches long as this will mean it will still be very tender and come off easily without leaving a gaping hole at the join.

· If the sucker is longer and a bit leathery you will need to use a blade, preferably use a retractable blade as they are thin and won't damage the plant the same as scissors or kitchen knife. Cut the sucker parallel to the main stem of the plant.

The Missouri method can be used due to two different circumstances:

1. The grower has not had time to pinch out the small suckers for several weeks and they have gotten out of control and quite long; or
2. The suckers have purposely been left to grow and create more leaf growth so that the fruit has more leave protection from the sun at a later date. (The 2 or 3 suckers that have been left for fruiting do not get tipped but they do have the small suckers at the leaf nodes removed.)

To prune these suckers the very tip needs to be pinched off and the remaining leaves and stalk left behind. One downside of letting the suckers get long and providing more leaf cover is that now there are more joins for new suckers to grow from and more pruning to do.

Determinate plants.

The determinate tomatoes plants are not pruned but are left to grow as they are more bushy and do not grow suckers. The fruit on these plants actually form at the end of the branches so if they are pruned it will mean that the plant will provide less fruit.

Tomato pruning is not difficult but just needs a little care so that the plant itself is not damaged. If it can be done weekly then the tomato plant should not get out of control. For the sake of controlling pests and disease ensure that any plants parts (suckers or leaves) that are removed from the plant are put in the rubbish.

For more valuable information on when to grow tomatoes, how to grow tomatoes, what tomatoes to grow and much, much more, visit http://growtomatoessuccessfully.com. This vine is a favorite among homeowners because of its multiple clusters of wonderfully scented flowers. For many gardeners the plant is known as the Star Jasmine.

The confederate jasmine will wrap and twist around any object in its path. If provided support of a tree, it can grow to twenty feet or more. If the plant has no support it will grow nicely as a ground cover.

When grown as a ground cover, it remains about two-three feet tall. Its leaves are dark green and glossy. The flowers are white, scented and star shaped. The sweet scent of the flowers attracts bees, butterfly and other flowering insects. The jasmine is fast growing and can fill in a bare fence or trellis at record speed.

Culture Needs:

The confederate Jasmine is hardy from zone 7b to 10. The confederate jasmine is a hardy plant able to grow in clay, loam, sandy, and alkaline soils. Full sun to partial shade work best for the vine. It can handle droughts but prefers fair moisture.

When planting more than one jasmine space the plants thirty six to sixty inches apart. With it ability to adapt to many condition it can be grown almost anywhere in your landscape. New plants can be started easily from stem cuttings or shoots. Faster propagation is achieved with use of a rooting hormone.

Regardless of where you decide to plant the confederate jasmine you will be provided beautiful, green foliage and wonderfully fragrant flower for years to come. Once settled the plant is much problem free except for a little trimming.

Steve Habib is an active gardener, researcher and lawn maintenance operator. Ponds are gorgeous with exotic fish and aquatic life, but they do require maintenance and care. The best type of care for this type of structure is a proper pond liner. The most used and least expensive type of liner is a tarp that is heavy duty and strong enough to keep the pond life safe. These tarps are flexible, waterproof, UV protected and tear resistant. They are essential for maintaining the structure of a pond.

How to Purchase a Tarp for a Pond

The first thing to consider is what type of climate do you live in warm or cold. What is the location of the pod is it in the direct sunlight or the shade and the cost and quality requirements. The best type of liner to use is one that is flexible and adjustable. There are PVC, Butyl, and Ethylene liners that are used as pond liners. These liners come in several earth tones to match their background, they are inexpensive and they last for years. There are also performed liners that are built to the specific size and shape of the pond. Also there are concrete liners which are made from cement, sand, gravel and water. These concrete liners have to be put in by professional installation to ensure the quality and longevity of the structure.

Other Uses for Heavy Duty Liners

Heavy Duty tarp liners are used for camping, cars, trailers, boats etc. These tarps are light weight, easy to handle, flexible, waterproof and tear resistant which is excellent for these heavy structures. They are also mildew resistant and have a required thickness to reduce wear and tear. Roof and rack covers are great for temporarily repairing a leaky roof it helps to prevent major damage and keeps the integrity of the roof intact. The improper use of cheap coverage on a leak can lead to mold and eventually destruction. The best types of tarp to use on these structures are heavy duty and silver tarp.

Conclusion

Heavy duty tarp is an excellent multi purpose, poly liner that can be used to cover many things from ponds, to campers to vehicles and boats. It is an inexpensive way to make repairs and protect major structures, by keeping them secure and away from the elements. When selecting a tarp or liner to cover a particular structure it is best to know what type of tarp you need by analyzing the area and weighing the options that are best suited for the situation.

Tarpaulins expert Robert Page has worked in the tarps industry for over twenty-five years. However, not many of us can afford one or so we think. All we know is that to build a pool will cost an enormous amount of money and with the kids in school and endless things to buy and do around the house it has to remain a dream. Not so! You should read this article to learn all about above ground pools and how you can get one at a very reasonable price.

You have many factors to consider when planning to get a pool. Some research is recommended before you go any further. You have to think of the budget, the space you have available to house the pool, and the size of the pool that can be comfortably accommodated in your yard. Will you want to look at above ground pools with decks or without decks, here again space is a deciding factor, as well as pool maintenance and the cost of other pool accessories like the pump, filters, ladders, etc. Don't let the list scare you off, it might be long but it is not all that expensive.

Some of the questions you need answers for, in relation to your above ground pools research will include the following:

- How much will the above ground pool cost?
- How much will wrap around and free standing decking for this pool cost?
- Will you need to do any landscaping or ground preparation before installing the pool?
- What sort of pool maintenance will be required and what will be the cost?
- What sort of accessories come with above ground pools and what do you need to invest in, over and above the cost of the pool itself?

Now let's plunge right into finding out all we can about above ground pools. These pools are the least expensive and you can purchase either a hard sided or soft sided pool. These pools do not require any digging or construction work, though you should note that the hard sided pools will require some amount of ground preparation before installation. Both types of above ground pools are very strong and durable, and will give you hours and hours of backyard fun.

Above ground pools have the benefit of looking great while being relatively inexpensive. They are the ideal solution to providing the family with a pool without investing big time in a permanent pool. These pools are portable. If you are just renting and plan to move, your pool goes with you. If you want to dispose of it you can always give it to a friend or neighbor or even sell it. If you are selling your home, you may want to leave it behind for the new owner as a goodwill gesture.

Above ground pools are very easy to install, invite your friends over for a pool party and get them to help you install the pool first! Your choices of above ground pools range from aluminum to resin and steel. These materials are rust-proof and have a very long lifespan. Talk to the dealer apart from your own research to find the one that best suits you.

Now you can host backyard BBQ nights and pool parties for your friends, and your kids can enjoy endless hours of summer fun in their own swimming pool with their friends.

For more great information about above ground pools prices, visit our new website www.abovegroundpoolsprices.net today.

=======
Email scanned by PC Tools - No viruses or spyware found.
(Email Guard: 7.0.0.18, Virus/Spyware Database: 6.14800)
http://www.pctools.com
=======

Henry

If you are exploring some new and very creative landscaping ideas for your home, think about getting a cue from nature. It is essential to additionally take into consideration the climate in places you are living. Do some investigation on plants and flowers that happen to be indigenous in your region. As a result the flora and fauna you select ought to flourish and look healthy and natural in the course of all four seasons.

Various places are incredibly dry while other regions have a great quantity of rain fall all needing special landscape ideas. You might are living near the ocean or in the mountains. Residing near the ocean perhaps you may want to try growing different types of palms and succulents. These will maintain their healthy look just about all year around. Incorporate rock, stone and sand for paths and terrace areas. The less lawn and plants the less water you'll need.

If you reside by the mountains find landscape ideas and get your inspiration from the forest's edge. Take note of the plant life that thrive within the meadows and forested locations. Trees for example small conifers, deciduous vine maples, evergreen salal, ferns and wildflowers most will change with all the seasons. For a few landscapes extra color plant cannas, hostas, and other perennials and shrubs will certainly produce a lovely fringe about the lawn. Trees really are necessary for almost any size yard. They are going to offer shade and entice wildlife.

Just about all landscape ideas ought to feature a focal point to bring in some visual interest. A small bench, fountain or waterfall, birdbath or fun and interesting garden statuary can reflect your character. A fire pit, surrounded by some kind of appealing seating, not just brings charm but presents a toasty place for your guests when entertaining on a cool evening.

Walkways and paths must not be ignored when considering landscape ideas. They're going to supply your landscape that final touch. Path ways are practical as they guide a visitor to the front door and keep them off of the lawn. A simple path of stepping stones leading towards water spigot could keep unwanted soil and mud off your shoes. Develop more elaborate walkways using flagstone, pebbles or brick.

You could possibly be looking at leaving a lawn entirely out of any of your landscaping ideas. If that's the case, try out using gravel, pebbles or crushed granite to produce unique mosaic patterns. There are also several varieties of ground covers which can be low maturing and may withstand foot traffic and demand little if any upkeep. Utilize sand to cover kid's play spots like under swing sets, volleyball or play houses and forts.

Look for sites on the internet that will offer totally free landscape ideas or check out (your) neighborhood home improvement center for additional ideas. You will find a lot of do-it-yourself packages now available for creating small ponds, waterfalls or different types of water features and fire pits. You should also have the opportunity to get a lot of products online and have them delivered directly to your own home.

Are you looking for new and interesting landscaping ideas for creating a stunning backyard paradise in your home? This is logical since spring-flowering bulbs bloom when there is little if any competition from other flowers and only three or four will be enough to attract attention. In addition to using small quantities, use only those that are not too formal in habit such as Narcissus, Grape-hyacinths, Crocus, Snowdrops, and Scillas.

Plant them in a naturalistic manner. The best way to achieve this is to take a handful of bulbs, throw them where they are to be used, and plant each bulb where it falls. A solid line of formal plants like tulips or most hyacinths running around the edge of a shrub border ( called a "shoestring planting" by professionals) is unattractive and inexcusable.

Flowers in Boundary Planting

One other place where you might wink at the rule prohibiting flowers in the public area is off at the sides of the property where perhaps a boundary planting is located. Here you might even include a few low growing and soft colored annuals or perennials as well as some spring-flowering bulbs.

Flowers - a Distraction

The use of flowers is basically wrong because you must remember that the first and most important object of the public area planting is to focus the attention of the observer on your home. This cannot be accomplished if there are bright spots of color here and there to attract their attention.

Inspect Other Landscaping

Test this statement when walking or riding past certain homes where a spectacular flower bed or some other bright colored feature inadvertently draws your attention to it. Probably you will not be able to remember what kind of a house it was! In other words, from the landscaping angle the correct place for flowers is in the backyard, which will be discussed in a later chapter.
