If you are a Facebook user you may have noticed the many different changes to Facebook lately. Everything looks different, works different, and feels different. But guess what? So what are the five recent, biggest changes to Facebook?

1. Your news feed has changed.

If you are one of those Facebook fanatics who checks Facebook every hour or so you are going to see more recent stories from your friends right in your news feed. You check Facebook more often so Facebook will reward you with more status updates for you to read right in your news feed.

However, if you only check Facebook one or two times a day you are only going to see the "headlines" in your news feed showing you the most important updates from your friends. Since you do not use Facebook as often, you won't have your news feed clogged with the less important status updates. That is what the next item regarding changes to Facebook is for.

2. The all new News Ticker

You have probably already noticed this little guy in the top right hand corner of Facebook. So what is it exactly? Similar to twitter, the ticker is constantly updating with the less important status updates of your friends, like "Bert and Ashley became friends" and things of that nature. These will be the little updates that you really don't want clogging up your main feed but if you want to glance at them they will be right there in your ticker.

3. Subscribe / Unsubscribe to users (without defriending them)

If you are tired of seeing updates from certain people but don't really want to defriend them completely, you can unsubscribe to them. This means you will not be notified of their status updates but you can still check their profile page whenever you want. Similarly, if you like posts from certain other people you can subscribe to them and you will see more of their posts. This is one of the best changes to Facebook in my opinion.

4. Mark posts as important or unimportant (i.e. make top story) Facebook puts the stories that it thinks you will like most at the top of your news feed, your "top stories". Now there is a little triangle button in the top left corner of each story that you can click to make it a top story or remove it as one. Doing this will allow Facebook to better understand what kinds of stories you are most interested and it will display those first.

5. The controversial Timeline

Maybe one of the biggest changes to Facebook ever and almost certainly the most controversial is the new Facebook Timeline. Facebook will convert your profile into a digital timeline of your entire life, sort of like a digital scrap book of your life since you joined Facebook. The word is that once implemented, you will have just a few days to shape up your Timeline the way you want it to appear to everyone else and then it will become a permanent timeline of your life and you will be unable to edit it from then on. Why is this so controversial? Well, aside from the fact that the appearance of your profile page will look and work completely differently (this is usually enough to ruffle many people's feathers), many people do not like the idea of not being able to edit or remove things that other people can see from your past if you want to. After the grace period, your Facebook Timeline will be set in stone whether it be pretty or ugly.

And there you have it, the five biggest changes to Facebook.

Whenever we have options or a choice, there are always lots of things to consider. In this case, we have a choice between an iPad from apple or an aPad iRobot. Both tablet PC, both allowing us to surf the web and get online to watch our videos, both allowing our content to come with us wherever we are.

In many ways the aPad iRobot and the Apple iPad are the same. Slightly smaller screen size aside between the 7" aPad screen and the 9.7" both of the essentially let us do the exact same things, using a different operating system to accomplish the same tasks. The question always boils down to which one should I buy. And there are arguments for both sides. While I could spend days going over and giving the good and bad for each of the arguments I've researched, I won't. Instead I will compare and list the features that are present in both the aPad iRobot as well as the iPad.

Web Browsing:

Both of these can do it. The safari browser for iPad and Google's own web browser built into Android OS. If you're looking to do some reading of blogs, or checking the news, and responding to and working with your email. Both the aPad iRobot and the iPad will do the trick without any hassles.

Expandability:

This is where the iPad from Apple fails. Once you're iPad is full of content, you're done. You'll have to erase and selective pick what you want on there. The aPad uses regular microSD Cards, so you can just put in a new card and double your memory.

Games And Applications:

The iPad takes the cake in this regard, with hundreds of thousands of games and apps. But the aPad iRobot also has a huge selection of games and applications from the Android Marketplace. Essentially any Android App will work on the aPad, and the selection is nothing to laugh at. But you REALLY have to be into gaming in order to use this as your deal breaker. The biggest games are out for both systems, and as such, unless there is some very specific game you need to play, you're good with either the aPad iRobot or the iPad

Email:

Lets face it. Google is the king of email. So you're not going to be wanting for anything when it comes to doing your email on the aPad at all. It's responsive, has a built in email App for Gmail and naturally, you can set it up to use any email account you have. Much the the iPad. Even the aPad offers Gmail as one of the standard accounts in their mail app. The on screen keyboard is very responsive and I prefer the size of the aPad to be honest as it makes typing out my emails a whole lot easier while holding it in landscape mode.

Videos & Music:

The aPad iRobot has one click YouTube access. Click on the YouTube Icon and you're presented with YouTube and watching all of the videos you can handle. The world favorite time waster is fully functional and works great on the aPad. The Apple iPad also has a YouTube app. Built in and available out of the box. Both the aPad and the iPad can view HD Videos as well. MP3 is supported on both of the units too. With the aPad running Android OS media player, and the iPad running iTunes. Sound quality and volume is the same across the board.

eBooks:

Again, both units allow reading of eBooks. Apple's iBooks is definitely a fantastic application making the organization and purchasing of your eBooks a breeze. The aPad doesn't have the same App, but has a built in eBook reader available to download from the Android Marketplace. I prefer the screen on the iPad - as it's slightly bigger, but I prefer the price of the aPad - because it does the same thing.

The biggest argument FOR the aPad iRobot is the price. While you'll have to spend at least $500.00 to get your taste of tablet computer with an Apple iPad. You can get a feel for what it means to really use a tablet with the iRobot for less than half the price, with the entry model starting at only $189.00 I suggest spending less not because one of these products is better than the other, but because tablet computers in general are such a new product category that we really have to be sure we're able to use it, and that its functional for our own use. It's not like upgrading or getting a new desktop PC. We're accustomed to that form factor and how we use our desktop PC's.

My recommendation? Buy the aPad iRobot. If you like what you get out of a tablet PC, and still want to go for an Apple iPad, you can sell the aPad and get the iPad if that product will suit you better. But you'll have a chance to at least try out tablet computing and see if it works for your own lifestyle.

Both the aPad iRobot and iPad offer the same set of functions and features. But where the aPad really shines is in it's very affordable price. At less than half the price of the Apple iPad - the aPad comes out ahead both due to the built in camera and the attractive price and expandability. These days, no matter what kind of business you're planning, it's almost a given fact that you'll need computer and IT equipment to have a better chance at success. But for many start-up business owners, it can be difficult knowing just what sort of equipment is needed and how much it will cost. There are a few things to determine before investing any money into IT equipment for a new business.

Considering Specific Needs First:

It will not do a new business much good to have several expensive, new computers that won't be used, or a designated server for a small network consisting of no more than a handful of machines or users. Being realistic about the needs of a new business is key to purchasing exactly what is needed rather than purchasing extravagant equipment that will only end up raising start-up costs and possibly skewing the given budget.

For instance, for a stationary, small business where all transactions, sales or paperwork will be done directly on site, there probably isn't much need to buy a laptop computer. Laptops are typically more expensive than traditional desktop computers, and while they offer the convenience of portability, if it isn't needed for the business it makes little sense to invest the extra money into a feature that won't be used. For a business that will require some travel, laptops are a very smart buy and can be an extremely valuable purchase.

Most computers come standard with dual or core processors, and at least 500 gigabytes of hard drive memory. It's wise to stick to a well known brand when investing in computers for a start-up business, as these tend to have the best tech support and features, as well as being easier to repair should any hardware malfunction. Choosing a well known OS (operating system) is also a good idea, as these have a wider variety of software available for billing, accounting, spreadsheets and other essential functions needed for most businesses. They are also usually easier for less experienced computer users to learn.

Larger Business Considerations:

For larger start-up businesses, needs may be slightly more complex and require more IT equipment, especially if any sales transactions will be involved.

If there will be several frequently used computers, it may be a good idea to look into purchasing a dedicated server and having an IT specialist set up the network professionally. This will make it much easier for employees to access data, as well as make the computers, as a whole, easier to manage.

An office email and calendar system can also be a very wise investment for larger businesses. This kind of software will easily let employees communicate with each other as well as see scheduled meeting dates, sales dates, pay periods and other important information.

Compressed File and Encrypted File in Windows Explorer

Have you ever found the filename color was blue, green or black in Windows Explorer? You probably ask, "Is it OK?" or "How can it be?." The answer is, yes, your computer is OK.

The blue text means your file has been compressed.

To uncompress your file:

1. Right-click on the file, for example, sample1.txt, select Properties.

2. Click the Advanced button,

3. In the Advanced Attributes tab, uncheck Compress contents to save disk space. Click OK

4. Click OK.

The green text means your file has been encrypted to secure data.

To unencrypt your file:

1. Right-click on the file, for example, sample2.txt select Properties.

2. Click the Advanced button,

3. In the Advanced Attributes tab, uncheck Encrypt contents to secure data. Click OK.

4. Click OK then the file text color is changed back to black (normal).

If you don't want to show the color of compressed or encrypted files/folders, go to Windows Explorer:

1. Click Tools menu, Folder Options

2. Click the View tab, uncheck "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color",

3. Click OK. Then your file/folders are changed back to black (normal) now.

Understanding each aspect is the key to making the right decision for implementing a master clock system within a building or complex. Let's break down each component and take a closer look.

Price

Replacing or upgrading your existing storage array can be a daunting task, since the performance and availability of your business applications hang on what system you decide to use.

Be sure to choose a system or system upgrade that accommodates both short term and long term strategies for growth. While there is no perfect choice as trade-offs exist in all storage offerings, there are several questions you can ask yourself to help guide you in the decision-making process.

Why do we really want to upgrade or modify this system? Be sure to evaluate all emotional components of the decision, such as who will be affected and all associated risks. Dig into your root motivations to help understand potential long-term solutions.

What new applications are coming online in the next 12-24 months? How will these applications affect my storage consumption?

What remaining lease payments exist? How many are there? What is my buyout number?

If we replace this system, how much capacity will we need to purchase? Accommodate for 12 months of growth and projects. Carefully examine the requirements to address the root issues and ensure that you've planned for long-term capacity.

What will the migration process look like if we purchase a new system?

What other infrastructure projects can we tackle if we opt for an upgrade instead of a complete replacement?

If we opt to replace, how much of a learning curve will there be as my staff and I become proficient with the new system?

What are my current RPO and RTO requirements for DR? Could those change in the next 24 months?

With what storage system or systems is my team most familiar? Why?

How much additional capacity is required from this array over the next 12-24 months?

What will my DR requirements be over time? Are we even looking at DR?

What existing applications that are hosted on DAS or storage islands do I want to collapse into a centralized system? Does my existing system have enough of a workload buffer to handle the job?

What tools do I need on my storage array? Dedupe, Tiering, Auto-Caching, Snapshots, Replication, Thin Provisioning, etc? Why? Will this solve the root issue?

If replaced, what could I reuse this system for? DR, Remote Office, Backup to Disk, Archive?

What upgrades might allow my existing array to find a valuable new use-even if I replace it? (Dedicated Oracle System, VMWare Backup Target, TSM Storage Pool, DEV, TEST, QA Farm, etc.)

Some of these storage questions were derived from best practices; others we discovered by experience. Hopefully they will help you gain some insight as you consider replacing or upgrading your storage array.

If you're interested in what are the best portable GPS systems, then you've come to the right place. I've been covering the GPS marketplace for the past few years. I've written literally hundreds of web articles about GPS devices and also written copy for several sites.

As far as the best portable GPS systems, this year we're seeing some really neat technical advances from giants like Garmin. We're also seeing the big three, Garmin, Magellan, and TomTom dominate the market place even more than in past years.

Right now, I would have to give the top picks all to Garmin and TomTom. Magellan certainly makes a find product, but they've not really introduced much that's truly innovative over the past year. Garmin and TomTom have, which is why I'm going to focus on them for the best portable GPS unit. Garmin first.

Garmin has made some really neat innovations on their GPS systems over the past couple of years. For instance, they have what they call a predictive technology, which lets the device lock onto the satellite signals faster. Also, they've got a nice line of voice recognition GPS systems-the nüvi 800's. I also, like their 1300 line a lot.

But Garmin's not only for upper end buyers. Their lower priced models, the 2X5 line, have features that we would have seen on only the most expensive models two years ago. You can get a very nice GPS system, for instance, from Garmin for $100-excellent maps, and plenty of bells and whistles.

We can't talk about the best portable GPS systems, however, without including TomTom. They've made some excellent strides in their user generated maps. But frankly, what I really like is their entry level model called the Tom Tom EASE. What's so cool about the TomTom EASE is its ease of use. Two taps and it's on and working to show you where you are. At what TomTom is charging for it, it's almost a no-brainer.

These are my picks for the best portable GPS systems. Hopefully, this will help you figure out what you should buy.

· The moisture condensation can cause the tape stuck to the drum (the tape doesn't start when you press start/stop). If it's happened, remove the tape, leave the camcorder at least an hour and then insert it again.

Memory Stick Pro Duo

· You can record digital still photos (in JPEG format) to the Memory Stick Pro Duo Memory Card. If your computer isn't compatible with the Memory Stick Pro Duo, connect your camcorder to the USB computer port (2.0 or 1.1).

· You can also transfer still images recorded on the Mini DV tape to the Memory Stick Pro Duo Memory Card.

Battery Life

· The rechargeable InfoLithium battery (NP-FH60), which comes with the camcorder, has about 100 minutes of continuous recording time (viewfinder recording) and 95 minutes of continuous recording time (LCD recording).

There are some situations which call for absolutely stable electrical power. Delicate medical equipment is one example. Low voltage, unstable frequency, or power surges or spikes can play havoc with the electronics that are required for advanced diagnostic tools like an MRI. This wouldn't seem to be a very large issue since electrical power seems to be pretty reliable in most major cities.

Here's the rub, though: it may seem to be stable, but it really isn't. There is such a thing as a power surge, and it can do a lot of damage. However, there is a solution. Automatic transfer switches can be installed as part of your electrical system. Automatic transfer switches will transfer your business over to a backup generator as soon as any sort of problem is sensed with the quality of the incoming electricity. This could really be a lifesaver, not just for your business, but for any patients who are relying on you to have reliable equipment available at all times. But medical use is just the tip of the iceberg for automatic power switches. They would be useful in any number of different applications.

You certainly won't be left in the much worse position of realizing that you have no generator and you're going to have to wait until the power outage ends to ascertain the damage to your business!

Not like Google or Wikipedia, Wolfram Alpha search engine that was announced in March 2009 by Stephen Wolfram and released to the public on May 15, 2009, is a free computational knowledge engine or answer engine that can be used by everyone to find the answers of the wide range questions such as mathematics, sciences, computer, history, education, sports, music, etc.

The difference between Wolfram Alpha search engine, Google and Wikipedia:

Google's search result shows the list of website links with all the keywords you type, whereas Wikipedia shows most results in a narration format. Wolfram Alpha search engine shows contextualized results as relevant statistics or data that you can trust and they are always added, updated and reviewed by the experts. You can also give them your feedback.

The limitation:

So far, Wolfram Alpha search engine only understands questions in English.

To get the optimize result in Wolfram Alpha search engine:

1. Use a few words which are possible to communicate with, such as,

When you type "who wrote sunday morning" Wolfram Alpha search engine doesn't show the right result. It assumes you find "morning" as the word, not the song title.

Example 3: "pluto"

It can refer to "an astronomical object" or "a fictional character". When you type "pluto", it automatically shows the result as an astronomical object. To get the information as a fictional character, click "use as referring to a fictional character instead".

For anyone looking into computer repair jobs as a career move it can often be a dilemma to work out how to get started. Should education and certification be pursued first? Or should you gain some work experience as grounding in a broad skill base?

In reality, you need to strike a balance in a career in computer repairs as you will always need to mix experience fixing computer issues with some form of training and education. The following four tips are a guide to getting the balance right.

1: Balance training and work.

If you can take the time out for full-time education then this is a great start, but for many may not be necessary.
