I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince yesterday afternoon. When I arrived in the theater, about 200 people were there already but ended up near 250. I expected it for that movie on a Wednesday afternoon. But, I expected a long lines because the French version had 2 showing versus the 1 showing for the English version in the same hour. Plus, there did 1 showing at midnight for true fans but still a lot of people. Yes, it's summer and vacation time.

Harry Potter deal with his enemies and we see love in the air for our main characters.

The review

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is 2h30 with almost 15 minutes of previews. I liked most of the movies in the serie but this one is the dullest of the pack. Don't get me wrong, we learned more about the characters.But, I did tot find many slow scenes in the movie.

Mixing humor and a lot of action was well done and stopped me of falling asleep.  The CGI for most of the scenes were very good.

I should had watched the previous movie again to remember more the story line.

Verdict

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is a movie that you should see in theater if you can stand the dullest part. I'm sure it will do great at the box office but it's not the best movie.

My expectation of Lakeview Terrace was to watch an psychological thriller first. The story was better than expected. Samuel L. Jackson is not the kind of neighbor you want.

This afternoon, I went and saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Now, I was under the impression that it started today but I was wrong since it started yesterday. In Quebec, it was the St-Jean thus an holiday. But, I saw it today. Since it was the second day and a work day, I expected not many would be there. To my amazement, almost 100+ were already in the theater.

When I saw the trailers(mostly action), I was not that eager to see it. Yes, it's a summer movie like I love to see but the spark was not there for me with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Plus, having to sit for 2h30 for that movie was not good either.  I can say that my expectation were low.

But, my opinion changed making Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen better than I expected. You have of course the CGI/action scenes by the handful but  it had a better story  that I expected. Plus, it had that humor.  I found Megan Fox more natural in the first movie. Shia LaBeouf is more present in this movie compare to the other actors.

Yes, it's worth seeing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at the theater.

Punisher War Zone is a sequel  to the first movie but using another actor and background story that created the Punisher.

My expectation of Punisher War Zone was to watch an action movie first. The story was okay and the violence(gore) was  more that I expected.  To be honest,  it was a little too long but it's okay.

Personally, I like Ray Stevenson that I discovered in Rome. He is an actor perfect for that type of movie. I recall a suspence mini-series a few years ago.  Now, I'm sure he would be good in a comedy too but I don't know if he has done one.

My expectation of Miracle At St. Anna was to watch a war movie. But with a movie that long(surprised me), it had a lot of slower scenes centralized around the soldiers.   The action scenes were okay since it's mostly gun fights and explosions. The story was okay too but too long for my taste.  In the end, it's a miracle I was able to watch it all the way. If it were at night, I would had slept on it.
