Grunge Thank You Tag

Tonight I had fun getting out paints and stains for this project. This week at Pink By Design Blog, there is a challenge for "Thank You" themed creations. I took this Maya Road acrylic shape and using my Vagabond and a Sizzix embossing folder, I gave the frosted plain tag a kick. I then used layers of Staz-On to create a base. Then I used the Distress Paints to add some opacity. My final step was to brush some Distress Crackle paint in Antique Brass sparingly.

I tied a simple bow with 3 Girl Jam Crinkle Ribbon and made a tag stamped with "Thank You" from Pink By Design Fresh Goodies.

Sweet Girl Layout

I just love scrapping my nieces' pictures. I have three boys so I don't get to use flowers and pink very often. Today I am sharing not only with my readers but also the readers at She's A Sassy Lady.

This double layout was made for a class kit I made for Remember This in Gardner, Kansas. I used Sweet Girl Echo Park paper. The cuts are all made on the Cameo using Silhouette files.

The photo editing for the strip was done online with PIXLR Express. I love using that site for my collage and photo strips.

The "LOVE" tiles are Thickers. I used seam binding for the ribbon on the side of the pictures. Washi Tape was placed on the bottom of the sheets.

I love mixing these patterns up! The large polka dots are my favorite!

Love Wordsearch Card

I can't believe in 2 weeks my husband and I will have been married for 14 years. As the years have gone by I have found myself making him love notes and cards just because. I made this card following the Frosted Designs Challenge Black and White + One Color.

The card is simple and easy. The paper does most of the work. All I did was cut my layers and mat them to the card base. I used a small strand of red twine from American Crafts to encircle the "Love".

Vintage Candles Card- 3 Girl Jam Challenge

I know you think I am nuts right?!?! Posting a Christmas Card in May. Last Year I over extended my self (which I think we are all guilty of) and did not get hardly any cards sent. I just can't being myself to send a store card. So to avoid the anxiety, frustrations, panic, I chose to make a few cards each month that are holiday themed. Today I am sharing this card not only with my readers but the readers at 3 Girl Jam Challenge Blog. #17 Challenge is Anything Goes with Ribbon. Pretty Easy, huh? My card a square 5 by 5. The paper is from Recollections. I used a wood veneer holiday ornament form Michaels. I stained it with Tim Holtz Distress Satins and add some bling. My ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam Winter Bundle.

I love this card. I don't know who will be getting it, but I am sure they will love it too!

My card is pretty simple but I love its understated elegance. The border cut is Contempo Circle Border Die from Memory Box. I used Cream from the new brand new Coffee Bundle from 3 Girl Jam.

(I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ONE!)
The sentiment is from Pink By Design. I used paper from Jillibean Soup. All the edges have been inked with CTMH Dye Ink in Cocoa and Slate.

Best Friends Layout

Today starts a new challenge at Frosted Designs. This time around we are working from the sketch below:

Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

Some of my cuts are from Cricut Close To My Heart Artiste Cartridge. Below you will find the free Gypsy File.

The butterflies are cut at 1.50 inches and 2.25 inches

The doilies are cut at 3.81 inches

The title "Best Friends" is from A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge. It is cut at 3.17 inches.

Here are some close ups. I love the colors of the layout. I used Teresa Collins Memories for the paper. I added a small line of hand stitching up the side of the layout.

The ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam. The buttons and pearls are from Jolee's Boutique. I placed a few strips of washi tape across the background.

In my stash, I found these great Pink Paislee embellishments.

I stained it with Hollyhock CTMH Pigment Ink.

Thank You Circle Tag

I love having tags on hand just in case I need one at the last minute. Last night I was playing with the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. I love the built in tags. I chose to use this project from my Design Team post over at the Pink By Design Blog. This week we are doing Geometric Shapes.

I decided to take the cut one step further and do some manual layering. I cut the tag at 3.58 inches using Teresa Collins Memories paper. I removed the negative petals and set them aside. I then cut the the petals again at the same size. (In order to cut only the petals, I used Hide Selected Contour to remove the tag cut so all I would have is the petals.) I repeated this process at 4.05 inches and 3.08 inches.

I then stacked my petals from largest to smallest in clusters and then hot glued them to the base.

The pennant shape is from Pink By Design Everyday Banners. I stamped the sentiment with CTMH Slate Dye Ink.

The cream ribbon is a sneak of a new release coming from 3 Girl Jam next week. The aqua ribbon is from May Arts.

Chandelier Card

This week at Pink By Design, we are inviting readers to link up projects that feature a geometric shape. I used Authentique Paper for my card. I just love all the dots and colors. The chandelier cut is from a Memory Box die. I love using silhouette cuts. But because they lack layers they can look a little flat, especially if it is the only cut on the card.

So to embellish and add details, I placed some rhinestones on the chandelier. I also glue a small strand of white pearls to the top of the chandelier. The circle cuts on the corner are from a Spellbinders Die. The sentiment is from Pink By Design Everyday Banners (my fav set of all time). You can link up here or on the Pink By Design Blog.

Baby Shower Card

I had so much fun making this card for my friend Sarah. She is due with her baby boy in another month or so. I wish I could have gone to her shower but unfortunately I didn't make it. but I did send her gift and this adorable card. I am sharing this card not only with my readers but the readers at 3 Girl Jam.

The paper is from Echo Park Bundle of Joy Boy Collection. I did the hand stitching along the border of pennants. I love the detail hand stitching adds to a card. The ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam Ice Blue Crinkle Ribbon. I used their Bow Make to create my layered bow. The sentiment and pennant is from Pink By Design Everyday Banners.

I also decorated the inside and added a sentiment to the inside.

I also used one of the journaling cards form the 12 by 12 sheet to add a personal message.

Cheeerful Smiles Card

I love cheerful colors. To me, yellow is cheerful and happy. This week at Pink By Design we are challenging readers to submit and link up projects that feature a geometric shape.

My card is small and cheerful. My patterned paper is from Authentique. I love the circles combined with the grey and yellow.

The stamp is from Pink By Design Everyday Banners. I stamped the banner and the sentiment with CYMH Cotton Candy Dye Ink.

I used twine from American Crafts to bring out and feature the fuchsia in the patterned paper. The yellow button is from Basic Grey.

Travel Countdown Giant Magnet

Yes, we are officially on countdown until our family road trip. My kids are so excited but frankly I am feeling overwhelmed to say the least. One question I keep getting asked is, "How many more days?!?!" Well I have eliminated the need for anymore asking. I made this trip countdown board that is magnetized to hang on the fridge. This was so easy to make.I am joining in this week with the Frosted Designs Design Team for a challenge themed on "Travel". So head on over, get inspired and link up!

At the end of the post, I have listed the free Gypsy file for download. Remember you will need to own the cartridges to make the cuts. If you do not own the cartridge, take the file and see the sizing and maybe you own files or cartridges that can be substituted.

I started with a 12 by 11.5 piece of chipboard. I then adhered with ATG the blue cardstock.

I inked all the edges and even a bit into the middle, especially on the larger mountains to add more dimension. All the clouds have been inked too. Whenever I am working with layering die cuts, I ink and ink and ink. The "black" countdown board is actually chalkstock from DCWV. I cut it on the Cricut using a mulitcut of 2.

All the cuts have been pop dotted to add dimension. My last step was to adhere with ATG magnetic strips to the back. I cut 4 1.5 inch by 11 inch strips of magnetic material. I used the magnetic material that came with my original Cricut Expression from 4 years ago. (Can we say hoarder?!?!) So each day my oldest will erase and mark the new number.

All About The Guys Card

Making masculine cards is a challenge for most of us. I am always looking for inspiration for those guy cards. Today I am sharing this card not only with my readers but also the readers at 3 Girl Jam.

My card features 3 Girl Jam Sunflower Crinkle Ribbon. You can buy Sunflower either in the Harvest bundle or in The Jackpot (that's how I bought mine). This card is 4 by 4. I layered multiple cuts from Spellbinders. My background is Core'Dinations Cardstock has been sanded and stamped with Pink By Design Argyle background stamp.

The paper is from Echo Park This and That 6 by 6 Pad. I used the coordinating embellishment pack for the "world" brad in the middle.

Cutesy Owl Card

Today I have a quick and easy card to share with you and the readers at She's A Sassy Lady. I had some scraps leftover from my About A Girl Echo Park Layout Class Kit that I created for Remember This Remember That (If you want to sign up for my class and see the samples CLICK HERE). I could not bear to toss this adorable owl section of the patterned paper. To make this card, all I did was trim the edges down to fit onto an A2 card. I then punched with a Crop A Dile the holes for the edge. I then tied a bow of crinkled seam binding and secured with a button and twine. I mounted it to a card base, finishing the card.

Washi Tape Banner Card

Usually I find myself trying to keep up with all the new trends and products. One trend I have put off for so long is washi tape. I admire projects I see with it but I guess I wasn't hooked until I played with the Echo Park About A Girl washi tape collection.

This is a card I made using Echo Park About A Girl washi tape collection and paper. I used American Crafts twine to string the folded washi tape. I then snipped the ends to make pennants. I like the clean simplicity of this card. In fact, this card is part of a class I am teaching at my Remember this Remember That in Gardner, Kansas. XOXO Necklace

Sparkle and Shine has been the theme this week at Pink By Design Blog. Since today is Friday, we are showcasing projects that are not cards. Lately I have been playing with all sorts of jewelry stuff in my free time. One quick way for me to make a personalized necklace is to use the Epiphany Crafts Punches and Epoxy dome. I first stamped my sentiment from Pink By Design Capture Life with CTMH Sunset Pigment Ink on Teresa Collins He Said She Said 6 by 6 paper. Next, I used the Circle 25 and the coordinating rhinestone bezels from Epiphany crafts. To adhere my stamped and punched epoxy, I used E6000. I added an easy ball chain and tied a small piece of 3 Girl Jam Coral Crush Crinkle Ribbon to the top.

Snowflake Card

I know. It's April. The snow is gone. Flowers are budding. And I have a snowflake card. No I have not lost my mind. But I have been cleaning up my studio. I found a large stack of half done projects and scrap paper. Most from Christmas and some from Valentine's Day. When I saw this half done card, I knew I wanted to play with some Memory Box Dies that I had gotten after Christmas.

Today I am sharing this card not only with my readers but also the readers at The Bug Bytes. The card base is Bazzill Swiss Dots. The patterned paper is from Martha Stewart.

The Snowflakes are actually 4 different dies from Memory Box cut from DCWV Glittered Paper.

I used Helmar Scrap Dots to raise each layer. The ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam. I used their bow maker to tie the crinkle ribbon, adding a faceted stick pin in the middle.

You Are My Happy Card

Honestly I am more of a pink girl but I have to say that lately I am obsessed with turquoise and aqua tones. When I saw this ribbon from May Arts at Remember This Remember That, I snatched up 2 yards. I then went home determined to make something with it right away.

This card is a square card at 4.5 inches by 4.5 inches. The patterned paper is from Cricut Spring Chic Imagine cartridge. The butterfly is a Memory Box Die. I used the 3 Girl Jam Bow Maker to tie this amazing bow. The sentiment is from Pink By Design and has been heat embossed with American Crafts Embossing Powder.

Today on the Pink By Design Blog, Sabrina and I are sharing tip and tricks on glitter. Mine is an easy one. I used my technique of making glittered paper to make the sparkly paper on the matting and the blackout on the butterfly, The first step is to get your supplies.

You will need a sponge brush, Glossy Accents, or Matte Accents (or something similar. I used Matte Accents.), a sturdy cardstock in the base color you want (I used DCWV Creamy Cardstock) , and ultrafine glitter in your choice of color (I used Martha Stewart).

Cut paper to desired size.
Spread a smooth, even layer of the Glossy or Matte Accents across the paper with your brush.
Cover all the wet adhesive with UltrafineGlitter. Shake and remove excess.
Do not touch wet glitter for about 15 minutes (depending on humidity and temperature and thickness of application)

**Remember glittered and textured papers have ahard time with adhesive and sticking. My choice of adhesive when working with glittered papers is TTT (Terrifically Tacky tape or some people call it red line.) It comes on a roll or a sheet and has a red liner backing. **

I started with a hard 3 by 5 canvas. I cut strips of paper from Best Creation, Inc and used Paper Mod Podge to adhere the strips to the canvas. I did not coat the top of the canvas.

Once the paper was adhered and dried, I stamped my sentiment from Pink By Design:
"You are fearlessly and wonderfully made"
It is from the You Are My Happy Set from Pink By Design.
I then inked all the edges with CTMH Cocoa Dye Ink.

My final step was to tie a three layered bow with 3 Girl Jam Crinkle Ribbon. I used Harvest Orange, Antique White, and Goblin Green.

My card is a quick and easy card. It is made with Echo Park Paper. The embossing was done with Cuttlebug Anna Griffin Folders. The sentiment is from Pink By Design "You are My Happy". I heat embossed the sentiment with red tinsel powder.
