Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis detailed this proposal on Monday. He called the immigrant crisis an “invasion,” to the dismay of reporters while touring Eagle Pass. This area has become a hot spot for illegal crossings since Biden has taken office.
“I have listened to people in D.C. for years and years and years, going back decades. Republicans and Democrats. Always chirping about this yet never actually bringing the issue to a conclusion,” said Desantis. Then he commented, “So if the cartels are cutting through the border wall, trying to run product into this country, they will end up stone-cold dead due to that bad decision. And, if you do that once, you won’t see them mess with our wall again.”
DeSantis Mimicking Trump Is Not Bringing America Together
Illegal immigration into America has been a hot topic for three years. Polls show that most Americans agree that Biden has been too soft on immigration. However, the far left does not care. DeSantis is playing to the majority by focusing on this topic, as swing voters tend to agree that our elected officials should uphold existing laws when securing our border.
Six in one adult voters do not agree with Biden’s policies. That topic alone could be the difference in 2024, regardless of who the Republican candidate is.
DeSantis Releases New Merch
Before holding the press conference on Monday, DeSantis’s campaign team launched a new line of merch focusing on the tagline “Build The Wall, No Excuses.” However, the cost of the wall compared to its effectiveness is a legitimate excuse. That is until you look at the over $75 billion sent to Ukraine with little to no effect on the Russian front. A few million dollars is not a big deal. Here, DeSantis mimics Trump to raise funds for his campaign through small transactions.
Donald Trump Responds In Trump Like Fashon.
“He is a failed candidate, whose sole purpose in making the trip was to reiterate that he would do all of the things done by me in creating the strongest Border, by far, in U.S. history,” Trump posted on his social media site Truth Social. We expect that Trump will continue to push back against Biden’s open border policy. However, DeSantis claims he will be more “aggressive” than Trump if elected president in the 2024 election.
Tuesday Should Reveal More DeSantis Mimicking Trump
Both candidates could clash on Tuesday as they plan on campaigning in New Hampshire. With immigration on everyone’s minds, expect to hear more about how they plan to rectify the daily problem billions of Americans face.
Whatever happens, we know it is God’s will. Biden would not sit in the White House if God did not want him there. Everything happens for a reason. It is best to pray and ask God to show you the reason.
