આ સોફ્ટવેર તૈયાર કરનાર ટીમના ડૉ. એલેકસ હેલ્ડર્મેને જણાવ્યું હતું કે ટેલેકસની મદદથી ચીની સરકાર દ્વારા મૂકેલા ફિલ્ટરની અસર દૂર કરીને યુ-ટ્યૂબ સહિતની અન્ય પ્રતિબંધિત વેબસાઈટ પણ ખૂબ સરળતાથી જોઈ શકાય છે.આ સોફ્ટવેર એવી સમસ્યાઓ સુધી પહોંચવા માટે તૈયાર કરવામાં આવ્યું છે જે અન્ય સેન્સર વિરોધી ટેક્નોલોજીઓને વધુ અસરકારક બનતી અટકાવે છે.

બ્રિટનીએ કહ્યું હતું કે, જો તમે અંદરથી સુંદર હોવ તો બહારથી તમે સુંદર જ દેખાવ છો. આ ઓપરેશન બ્રિટનીને દસ હજાર પાઉન્ડમાં પડશે તેમ જાણવા મળ્યું છે. ઓપરેશન કરાવતા પહેલા બ્રિટની સાયકોલોજીસ્ટને મળવાની છે, જેથી તેનામાં આવી રહેલા પરિવર્તન માટે તે માનસિક રીતે તૈયાર રહે.

જો તે આ બહુ જાણીતી ન હોત તો લિન્ડસે લોહાનની આ હરકત માફ કરી દેવાય. પણ લિલો પાસે ફેમ અને નેમ બન્ને છે છતાં પણ તેની આ ડ્રેસિંગ સ્ટાઈલ ચીપ પબ્લિસિટી સ્ટંટથી વધારે કંઈ ન લાગે.

લિન્ડસે સારી રીતે જાણતી જ હશે કે ટાઈટ બ્લેક બારીક ટોપમાં બ્રા પહેર્યા વગર જાહેરમાં જવાથી તેના સ્તનનો ઉભાર ચોક્કસ જ દેખાઈ આવશે. તેમ છતાં લિલો બેવર્લી હિલ્સ ખાતે મિસ્ટર ચોમાં ડિનર માટે આવી ત્યારે ત્યા હાજર ફોટોગ્રાફર્સને પૂરો મસાલો આપ્યો હતો.

Facebook has just announced a new tool that notifies you by e-mail or SMS Text Message when someone logs into your Facebook profile from an unknown computer, the Mashable reports.

Step 1: Go to Your Account Settings and Enable Notifications.

When you’re logged into Facebook, you’ll see the word “Account” in the top right corner of the browser window. Click there to get a drop-down menu of options, then click on “Account Settings.”

You’ll end up looking at a page that lists ways you can customize your account, including “Name,” “Password,” “Linked Accounts” and “more.” As long as you don’t navigate away from the “Settings” tab, you’ll see “Account Security” close to the bottom of the list. Click “change” on the right to show the following option:

If you select the option to receive notifications for logins from new devices, when you log in, you’ll be asked to name and save the various devices you use to access Facebook. So, check “Yes” and then click “Save.” The feature is turned on. Now we’ll show you how to use it.

Step 2: Log In and Register Your Computer

The settings won’t be customizable until you register the computer you’re logged in with, so you’ll have to first log out and then log back in. You can do this from the “Accounts” button in the top-right corner, as we mentioned before. When you log in again, you’ll see a screen (see the picture below) titled “Register this computer.”

So, type the name of the computer in and choose whether you want Facebook to remember this computer or not. If the computer is a public one (like one you’d use at a library, a shared work computer or a machine in your school’s computer lab), leave the box unchecked, so it will have to be registred each time a new login occurs, leading to an email or text notification.

If it’s a machine you use every day, then go ahead and check the box; you probably don’t want to receive an email every time you log into Facebook from your own computer.

Now that your computer is registered, you can see more options when you revisit the “Account Settings” page where you first enabled the notifications. You’ll see a history of registrations; it won’t record every time you log into a computer that’s already registered, but it will record every new regisation , which should include at least the first time any personlogs in.

You can check or uncheck the option to have the immediate notifications sent to your cell phone via text message in addition to the basic email option.

Step 3: Facebook to Block Suspicious Logins

Facebook has also built a new system to block suspicious logins before they happen. When we see that someone is trying to access your accountfrom an unusual device, we’ll ask the person to answer an additional verification question to prove his or her identity as the real account owner.

For example, we might ask the person to enter a birth date, identify a friend in a photo or answer a security question if you’ve previously provided one. These questions are designed to be easy for you, and hard for a hacker, and we’ve already seen some great results.

Once you’ve confirmed your identity, you’ll have the opportunity to review recent logins on your account and resert your password if you see logins that you don’t recognize.

We’re confident that these new tools and systems will do a lot to prevent unauthorized logins and the nuisance they can cause. As always, though, the first line of defense is you. We need you to help by practicing safe behavior on Facebook and wherever you go online.

We have been getting reports that the social network site FACEBOOK has been experiencing problems. It seems as if the site keeps coming up then going down with the message saying Service Unavailable – DNS failure.

Users have been reporting issues accessing Facebook, and the websiteDownRightNow.com reports that a “service disruption” is “likely.”DownForEveryoneOrJustMe.com also confirms that Facebook.com is currently down.

According to DownRightNow, as of 3:30PM ET, the last status change was 51 minutes ago and the “last widespread service disruption” occurred an hour ago.

Facebook Unveils Service That Lets Users Share Their Locations

FACEBOOK Inc. introduced a service that makes it easier for users to share their whereabouts with other people, making a deeper push into a fast-growing market pioneered by Foursquare Labs Inc.

The feature is aimed at helping users of the social network find friendsand disclose their own location, said Facebook Chief Executive OfficerMark Zuckerberg. Places works with existing location-aware tools offered by Foursquare, as well as gowalla Inc., Zuckerberg added.

Facebook Places is available immediately in the United States through the latest version of Facebook’s iPhone app and, for other advanced mobilephones (see the official Facebook’s Places page), through the company’s site for advanced mobile devices , executives announced at Facebook’s headquarters in Palo Alto, California.

Users who wish to announce their location to their friends on Facebook would tap a “check in” button to see a list of places nearby, and then choose the place that matches where they are.

“After checking in, your check-in will create a story in your friends’ News Feeds and show up in the Recent Activity section on the page for that place,” Places product manager Michael Sharon wrote on Facebook’s blog.

Facebook staff also said the feature will be useful not only to let friends know where they are, but also to learn if their friends are nearby at the same time, and to write down what they are doing at the location and what they think about it – creating a trail allowing friends to see what the writer did there days or even years ago.

Google Offers Free Voice Calls Via Gmail

Google took a bold stride onto Skype’s turf yesterday, announcing that Gmail users will now be able to call landline and cell phones directly from their email.

The service will appear in Gmail users’ chat windows with a “Call phone” button. When clicked, a telephone dialer will pop up on the screen, and users can place calls using an internal microphone or connected headset.

This move places the Internet search giant in direct competition with Web calling service Skype and more traditional operators such as Inc and Verizon Communications.

“Starting today, you can call any phone right from Gmail,” said Google in the post on the company’s Gmail blog. The new service allows U.S. Gmail users to place calls from any microphone-equipped computer to any telephone in the world.

Calls in the U.S. and Canada will be free through end of the year, undercutting rates of 1.2 to 2.1 cents-per-minute charged by Skype, the most popular PC-to-phone service.

Skype, Google and others have been offering free computer-to-computer calling for years. However, Google seeks to generate revenue on its new PC-to-phone service by charging 2 cents or more per minute for international calls.

Facebook Inc. founder Mark Zuckerberg introduced the ‘next generation messaging system’, which includes allowing users to have an @facebook.com email address, at an event in San Francisco on Monday.

Mr. Zuckerberg said: “Email is too slow, email is too formal. There is too much friction, like the filling in the subject line when people send an email.

An invite for a new @facebook.com e-mail address is on sale for charity via eBay, and has already raised more US $710 till publishing this post. Posted by the news site All Facebook.com, the auction has attracted nearly 48 bidders.

The new messaging system is only live to those with an invite at this stage, and Mr. zuckerberg said that it will be rolled out slowly across the next several months. The eBay auction is the first to offer one for sale.

The proceeds from the sale will go to the Susan G Komen for the Cure charity, which says it aims “to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.”

Zuckerberg stressed that the site’s new messaging system, which will combine Facebook’s instant messaging system, SMS, Facebook messages and email in one place, would allow people to reply seamlessly across multiple devices to different types of messages.

By adding e-mail, California-based Facebook Inc. provides an alternative to Google’s Gmail, the fastest-growing Web mail service in the past year.

It also steps up pressure on Microsoft and Yahoo, which are vying for the attention of Web users, who rely more on social sites for information and staying in touch with friends.

“This is not an e-mail killer,” Zuckerberg said. “Maybe we can help push the way people do messaging more towards this simple, real time, immediate, personal experience.”

Google’s Gmail had 193.3 million global users in September, an increase of 21 percent from a year earlier, according to Reston, Virginia-based data tracker ComScore Inc. Gmail still trails Microsoft’s Windows Live Hotmail’s 361.7 million users and Yahoo’s 273.1 million. Both of those services saw declines in visitors in September from the year-ago period.

With Facebook’s new product, users can send messages to their friends that will appear as mobile-phone text messages, e- mails or instant messages, based on the preferences they set for each friend. Before, users would get alerts in their outside e- mail when friends posted a photo or commented on their Facebook wall.

Yahoo Inc. took steps last month to make its service more appealing to Web users enamored of social networks. It introduced a version of e-mail that integrates posts from microblogging site Twitter Inc. and delivers information at faster speeds. The service, still in a test phase, also improves searches, spam protection and the viewing of photos.

AOL Inc., the one-time market leader in e-mail, also previewed changes to its Web mail on Sunday, November 14. Designed as a concept, the Adidas Facebook Superstars are a play off of the project that Adidas did in 2006 to celebrate its 35th anniversary. Emblazoned with the Facebook logo, the mission statement and of course sporting the customary Facebook blue color, they’d certainly be a shoe to send a message. Designer Gerry Mckay struck the classic Adidas Superstar sneakers logos Facebook and Twitter, and painted the shoes in brand colors social networks.

The Adidas Facebook shoe includes the Facebook logo (on the back and on the tongue), the color theme, the font and even two separate slogans printed inside the shoe that read: “Facebook is a social utility that connects you with the people around you” and “Making the world open and connected”.

One of my friend on Facebook @manikarthick shared a simple and nice Facebook hack that lets you to set certain important friends as a sticky friend always when displayed on your Friends profile box on your Facebook profile.

This hack allows you to show a set of important friends on your friends profile box on facbook You can decide whose picture should appear in the box, while others will appear randomly. Call it “sticky friends”

Go to your Facebook profile, click on the Edit box icon which you see above the friends box on the profile. You can limit the number of friends shown on the profile such as 6, 9 or 12 friends. Once you’ve set this, you can configure the friends profile which you need to display it permanently on your profile. It will be working like a sticky note.

Just type in the name of your friends and they will appear as sticky friends on your profile box. Who ever views your profile, they will see those selected friends on the friends profile box on your Facebook profile.

અહીં વિદ્યાર્થીઓ લેકચર્સના વીડિયોઝ જોઇ શકશે, એકબીજા સાથે મટિરિયલ અને કવેરીની આપ-લે કરી શકશે અને ઇન્ટરએક્ટિવ ટેસ્ટ્સ પણ આપી શકશે. સ્થાપકોનું કહેવું છે કે અહીં માત્ર પરીક્ષાની જ ફી લેવાય છે. રસ ધરાવતી પાર્ટીઓ પોતાના હિસાબે અને જોખમે એની મુલાકાત લઇ શકે છ
