Since then they have been blessed to have four precious children; J.J.–Jeremy Jr. (2002), Bethany (2004), Caleb (2006), and Elsie Grace (2011).

Jeremy loves spending time with his family. He also loves reading theology and studying leadership. He enjoys preaching, reading, big-game hunting, working around the house, snowboarding, teaching, all sports, building stuff, N.C. Tarheel basketball and Clemson Football. He loves to spend the mornings drinking coffee with Jill. He loves theological conversations, good food, and great coffee. He likes to lead others through the truth of the gospel to Jesus Christ and for the community to see the gospel revealed and manifested in a contextualized, relevant way.

Jeremy and his family moved (“parachuted”, planting with no immediate core) to Nashville to start The Axis Church—they knew only two people in the city. At it’s first gathering, The Axis had 10 people—the Rose family being half.

Now, The Axis Church is just over two years old. It is planted in the heart of downtown Nashville, in the Germantown community. The Axis Church’s vision is to see the gospel of Jesus Christ renew everything. We want to see the gospel change us as individuals, change us as a church, change our city and change our world. Our mission is to glorify God through making disciples and planting churches. We are God’s redeemed people that are being led by the Holy Spirit who worship Jesus Christ, live life in community together, and are being equipped to make disciples of Jesus.

We strive to look and act like that of the early Christian church (Acts 2:42-47, 4:32-37). Practically, that looks like family. We seek to do all things together. We share together, celebrate together, eat together, pray together, weep together, and so forth.

The population of our town is around 800. Attendance on average is around 100, by God’s grace we have tons of kids, alot that come on their own faithfully every Sunday without parents. At the present time we have two deacons and one elder/preaching pastor “that’s me”. Our congregation is not large but many have bought into the mission and vision of the church. Our body is a good mix of all ages (youth, teenagers, college age, and families)

The vision of our church is to love Jesus, live missionally, see families restored, lives transformed, and the community healed by the Gospel. To be a family of God sent on mission to make disciples who make disciples and plant churches.

Nine years ago God called my wife Amanda and I into camp ministry in Cusick,Wa. God broke our hearts for the people and we knew we needed to plant a church that would reach the hurting people in our area. We began to get involved in diaconal ministry providing food, clothes, and child care for single moms, whatever we could to serve in our community. My wife and I are a team for the Gospel and have relentlessly tilled the soil of our community for around 8 years before we planted. About four years ago God really began to solidify my calling to plant in the area as my heart was just so broken for the lost and desperate people in our little town. The truth is this is a rough little place, way off the beaten path and the only glory to be had here belongs to Jesus and by His grace He has allowed me to shepherd His flock here in this little town. We are so incredibly blessed to be a part of Acts 29 and to be partnering with 29 Coffee! Please pray for us, in particular that God would rise up elders from within the church that would love Jesus, love their wives, love their kids and love this community for Gods Glory and the furtherance of the Gospel!

Thanks and blessings.

Christ Community Church exists to see lives transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, discipleship cccur through intentional life-on-life community, and cultural renewal by living on mission.

The Magnolia/The Woodlands (NW Houston area), TX area is in Montgomery County, which is one of the fastest growing counties in Texas. The area of impact for Christ Community is a booming area where the suburbs and the country collide. There is an expected influx of over 20,000 people within the next 5 years into this area, which illustrates the great need for more missional, Gospel-centered churches to be planted.

Christ Community Church launched weekly services on Sunday, April 3, 2011. Our hope is to be a Gospel-centered community living together on mission by pointing people to a right relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ and training them to make disciples.

The term used for the relationship between our coffee roaster and the coffee bean farmers is “Direct Relationship”. The current Fair Trade price is $1.26 per lb. This price applies to those roasters who are buying low quality coffee, primarily the Robusta species at a price under the Fair Trade floor of $1.26. That means coffee roasters have to pay at least that much to ensure coffee bean farmers are not taken advantage of.

29 Coffee only uses and purchases the very top quality coffees, all Arabica. The average price of our green coffee is nearly double that of the current Fair Trade price. If our coffee roaster were purchasing coffee at “fair trade” price they would actually be able to reduce their cost and pass more onto 29 Coffee for church planting. However, we refuse to be involved with the Fair Trade Organization because they take a cut of the proceed ($1.26 pplb) that should be going to the farmers. We simply overstep them and work directly with the farmer and establish good relationships with them. Our approach has no political or social power and gives us no tag line in which we can promote ourselves, however it is the right thing to do. Even if we did not work relationally, we are over the Fair Trade floor by the nature of the product we purchase.

Fair Trade is good considering there are a lot of coffee roasters out there who do not have integrity and are willing to take advantage of farmers in order to better impact their bottom line. Our coffee roaster, Cutter’s Point, is not one of those companies. In fact, the very nature of what they are doing with Acts 29 Coffee is at a significant cost to their bottom line in order to generate money to be used for kingdom purposes. Rest assured, it is at the cost of Cutter’s Point and not coffee bean farmers.
