Sorry haven't blogged in quite some time. But I have been swamped with work and wedding planning stuff! But guess what??????

Yup that's right we did it! Had a wicked engagement shoot with our awesome wedding photographer Jamie Delaine . We love her! She took some amazing shots of us in Lynn Valley Canyon last week, you can check it out here. So looking forward to having Jamie at our wedding in Tofino, I can't even imagine the photos she will catch there!

Amazing Dress found on completely unveiled! Love the combo of the lace with the more rigid structure of the corset style top. I do have to say that I have found a dress (will share in time..it has english netting). I really have despised and loved the wedding dress shopping experience. It is very bizarre if you think of shopping experiences. Never have people paid attention to me so much and at the same time walked away the second you don't like something. In the end I went with a local designer here in Vancouver, that I am so stoked about. She is an amazing designer and just a darling of a person! I think, well I know thats the theme of my wedding only nice and wonderful people invited!

So as you may know I am engaged. We have started to plan (actually seriously plan) the wedding, which is actually super super exciting! For a while I was slightly overwhelmed with being busy and not knowing whether I actually wanted to blog about the process of planning and getting married. But now that I am doing it, it is sort of fun and I would love to share the experience!

So first thing on the list is when and where!???

Well we decided for a mini destination wedding in Tofino BC at Middle Beach Lodge. Amazing right? We have stayed in this rustic wonder which is located on a point on Mackenzie Beach with beautiful views, and just a great feel! We can't wait to share this place not only for the day but for the whole weekend!

Hi Friends, I am so late on this! But i have been so busy relaxing and enjoying the holidays i just couldn't get myself to the computer :) But we had a fabulous New Year's in a beautiful mountain town called Revelstoke, in the interior of BC (picture from New Year's).

Great news as well, Alex, my love, and I got engaged! So that was a great beginning to the year. With the new year in tow, i will be, you guessed it, checking out everything weddings :)

Childhood Memories

Aside from anything else i would have loved a horse bicycle from here.

My childhood bedroom was always filled with art, crafts, and books. I was a very crafty kid, always drawing, gluing, and putting things together. I have to say that my bedroom was probably not an ideal crafty studio or art space but at the time i loved it. Unfortunately I don't have any good pictures of the space, or me in it but I remember it being very small and cozy. The place to get away and do your own thing, away from school, chores and responsibility. The one thing that i loved more than crafts and art was reading. Reading was something I always did at night before bed, so that I could dream about the imaginary land that books took you too. But the one thing i always missed in my bedroom was proper bookshelves (hence perhaps my great obsession to phenomenal bookshelves, you can check it out here, here and here) . So i went on a search online to imagine what a perfect bedroom would be for me:

It would have an amazing archway or doorway, where I could have had my bed or a little chair to curl up on to read (or in the cub like below), with bookshelves stretching over the archway, and through the walls around the room. Like here and like here.

And then I would have an amazing little studio area just off the side of the books with all the art and craft supplies imaginable.

And a chalkwall like this on, so that I can doodle, plan, be silly....

DIY Advent Calendar

So this year I decided to be crafty for christmas, and instead of buying loads of decorations and other stuff (crap) I wanted to be crafty! So first on the list is the DIY Advent Calendar with a modern twist.

I started with nice craft paper with great prints, which i made little envelopes from.

I used velum to print little number signs in different colours to attach with the little clothes clips, which would then attach the envelope to the string as well.

I also found these greta cork stickies at a craft store on Main street (at the time i had no purpose for them) that are perfect as little seals for the envelopes!

And what is inside? Well.....little love notes and coupons for my honey!

And here are the envelopes all before i put them on the string above the fire place!

I really loved the project it was super fun, although it did take me a while since i did make the envelopes from scratch etc. What do you think?
