About One Billion Rising

One Billion Rising is the biggest mass action to end violence against women (cisgender, transgender, and those who hold fluid identities that are subject to gender-based violence) in human history. The campaign, which launched on Valentine’s Day 2012, began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS.

2013: People across the world came together to express their outrage, to strike, dance, and RISE in defiance of the injustices women suffer, demanding an end at last to violence against women.

2014: One Billion Rising for Justice focused on the issue of justice for all survivors of gender violence, and highlighted the impunity that lives at the intersection of poverty, racism, war, the plunder of the environment, capitalism, imperialism, and patriarchy. For the third year of the campaign, One Billion Rising’s global coordinators chose the theme of “Revolution” as an escalation of the demand for justice, and to build upon the massive efforts of communities worldwide that also looked at the roots and causes of violence as part of their call for justice.

2015: Millions of activists in over 200 countries gathered to Rise for REVOLUTION, to change the paradigm, demand accountability, justice and systematic CHANGE. We are rising to show we are determined to create a new kind of consciousness – one where violence will be resisted until it is unthinkable.

2016: The theme of Revolution continues with a call to focus on marginalized women and to bring national and international focus to their issues; to bring in new artistic energy; to amplify Revolution as a call for system change to end violence against women and girls; to call on people to rise for others, and not just for ourselves.

2017: The call escalated to Rising in Solidarity against the exploitation of women and girls. In so many regions of the world, women are abused in multiple ways across layers of exploitation and oppression. One layer is the deeply entrenched patriarchal structures in society that continue to subordinate and oppress women, and conditions or forces women into submission and subjugation. This creates fertile ground for domination and control over them. Another layer is the exportation of poor women for labor when economic exploitation is globally enforced by imperialist and capitalist states that place profit over people. The abuse of the planet, and the commodification and dehumanization of women’s bodies in the service of profit, and in the service of other nations’ profit and development, is the most criminal act of abuse and power. This is especially so when the exploitation is being done to the most marginalized women – indigenous women, transgender women, migrant women, domestic workers, undocumented women, the urban poor and peasant women. The 2017 Rising was a demand to end ALL forms of exploitation of women and girls.

2018: The theme of SOLIDARITY remained the focus of One Billion Rising 2018, with the call to “Rise, Resist, Unite!” As we came into a time defined by a fierce escalation of fascist, imperialist, neo-liberal attacks on the lives of people around the world, the OBR call to “Rise, Resist and Unite” became more resounding. And the most marginalized – working class, minority and women on the margins in every part of the globe – who experience the impact and are forced to confront these attacks on their welfare and rights and homes, once again led the risings. Joining the emergence of other anti-women, anti-people leaders and governments around the world, we saw mass OBR global risings with other social movements as well as deep and ongoing engagements creating a vigorous solidarity and dynamic energy to a rising resistance everywhere. This included the advocacy of women’s rights, the protection and defense of indigenous lands and the rights of indigenous peoples, rising against fascism and tyranny, discrimination and racism, environmental plunder and destruction, corporate greed, economic violence, poverty, state brutality and repression, war and militarism.

2019 introduced “RISING: From a Campaign to a Way of Life” and the OBR Manifesta.

As we continued to Rise to end violence against women – it was imperative now for us to expand our understanding of women’s oppression and exploitation in the context of capitalism, colonization, racism, imperialism, environmental plunder and war. We have been compartmentalized and divided for too long. Our Rising must now connect our specific oppression to the common universal humanity that binds us all. This is no less than a way of life, a way of seeing, a way of being in the world. It is not one day that we rise, but every day that this consciousness must rise in all we do.

We call on you to be braver, go deeper, reflect, study, listen, learn, awaken to what you don’t know, ask the difficult questions, engage, take actions, and push yourselves out of your comfort zones physically and intellectually. We call on you to commit to resistance and solidarity.

Because Rising is no longer a campaign – it is a way of life.

2020: RAISE THE VIBRATION. RISE FOR REVOLUTION.

We are in the midst of a rising tide of right-wing nationalism, white supremacy, fascism, tyranny, hatred of and fear of immigrants, misogyny, femicide, homophobia, transphobia, corporate greed and climate destruction. We cannot beat fascists, rapists, climate deniers and plunderers on their terms. We will never be that cruel, discompassionate, greedy, or murderous. We cannot let ourselves be changed by or sunk in their cynicism, hatred, divisions and destruction. What we can do is remember we are the many and we can raise the vibration through action, art, connection, imagination and love.

2021: RISING GARDENS are a defiant creative call for revival, restoration and transformation. They are, in many ways, a compassionate call for justice – because one of the greatest injustices of our time has been the destruction and eradication of Mother Earth, parallel to the ongoing and escalating gender-based violence. We cannot keep the ongoing extraction of women’s labour and earth’s produce, with no gratitude to both. We must honor and protect the Earth and women in order for any future life to exist.

2022: RISE FOR THE BODIES OF ALL WOMEN, GIRLS & THE EARTH

RISE for the Bodies of All Women, Girls & the Earth, created by the ONE BILLION RISING coordinators. Our 2022 call is to connect both in a deeper, more purposeful, political, transformative and yet also empowering, hopeful way. And to make this coming year a truly radical, bold, fearless escalation of artistic risings. We are experiencing the devastating consequences of the ongoing vicious systems of patriarchy, imperialism, capitalism and racism on the world today. We see this destructive battle for power fought over women’s bodies and the body of the earth. The devastation cannot be ignored. This past year has seen global lockdowns, government neglect, health crises, proliferation of authoritarian regimes, endemic exploitation of labor, escalating corporate greed, worsening poverty, racism and exclusion, the grave ongoing destruction and pillaging of the environment for capital, as well as the deterioration of the climate. "IO TI NEGO…"

In molti paesi la donna ancora non viene considerata come una persona, non le viene riconosciuta la sua individualità, non le vengono riconosciuti molti diritti se non tutti, alcuni dei quali per noi sono considerati normali in quanto già acquisiti, almeno sulla carta. Ancora in molti luoghi del mondo le donne sono ritenute delle proprietà, degli esseri inferiori. Ancora oggi in tutti i paesi progrediti o meno, in tutto il mondo ci sono lotte, ci sono battaglie da vincere per affermare il proprio diritto:

alla Libertà;

alla Parola;

all’Istruzione;

al Lavoro;

al Voto;

all’Indipendenza;

alla Tutela Giuridica;

alla Libertà Sessuale;

alla Tutela Sanitaria;

e sicuramente, in questo elenco abbiamo tralasciato qualcosa, ma già così la lista pare la trama di un film di fantascienza.

Incredibile vero?

Donne e uomini dovrebbero avere uguali diritti nel rispetto della propria individualità, ma sappiamo benissimo che non è così.

Sì, vero di passi avanti ne sono stati fatti, eppure, di fronte a un tema fondamentale e significativo come quello dei diritti di ogni essere umano, l’uguaglianza che dovrebbe essere assicurata, purtroppo, ancora oggi non c’è.

Purtroppo siamo ancora molto lontano dal superare lo scoglio delle diversità, il Gender Gap è un dato di fatto.

Nonostante la lotta delle suffragette per l’emancipazione femminile nata per ottenere il diritto di voto per le donne. Nonostante durante la prima della guerra mondiale le donne abbiano compiuto azioni normalmente deputate agli uomini dove la società finalmente sembrava riconoscesse il loro valore, l’equità dei diritti, ahimè, con l'evolversi dei tempi, anziché progredire, ci si è arenati, han dovuto, quindi, rimboccarsi le maniche e continuare la lotta, urlando invece di parlare, per difendere le loro ragioni.

Urlare per affermare che loro sono!

Quindi cosa è successo?

Come mai invece di andare avanti la società è tornata indietro?

Badate bene che non si confonda tutto questo come una battaglia contro l’uomo, inteso come essere umano ma contro la società. Una società che fondamentalmente non riconosce i diritti basilari, sia verso l’essere umano Uomo che l’essere umano Donna. Una battaglia verso le Istituzioni molto spesso latenti, verso quella Società Civile che trova più semplice e facile volgere lo sguardo dall’altra parte.

In many countries women are still not considered as persons, their individuality is not recognized, many rights are not recognized, if not all, some of which are considered normal for us because they are already acquired, at least on paper. Still in many places in the world women are considered property, inferior beings. Even today in all countries, whether advanced or not, all over the world there are struggles, there are battles to be won to assert one's right:

to Freedom;
to the Word;
to Education;
to Work;
to Vote;
to Independence;
to Legal Protection;
to Sexual Freedom;
to Health Protection;

and surely, in this list we have left out something, but already now the list is looking like the plot of a science fiction movie.

Unbelievable, isn't it?

Women and men should have equal rights in respect of their individuality, but we know very well that it is not so.

Yes, it's true that progresses have been made, but, in front of a fundamental and significant issue, such as the rights of every human being, the equality that should be ensured, unfortunately, still does not exist.

Unfortunately, we are still a long way from overcoming the obstacle of diversity, the Gender Gap is a fact.

Despite the struggle of the suffragettes for women's emancipation born to obtain the right to vote for women. Despite the fact that during the first world war women have performed actions normally assigned to men, where society finally seemed to recognize their value, the fairness of rights, alas, with the evolution of time, instead of progress, we are stranded, they had, therefore, roll up their sleeves and continue the fight, screaming instead of talking, to defend their reasons.
Screaming to affirm that they exist!
So what happened?

Why is it, that instead of moving forward, society has turned back?

Take care not to confuse all this as a battle against men, intended as a human being, but against society. A society that basically does not recognize the basic rights, both towards the human being Man and the human being Woman. A battle against the Institutions that are often latent, against that Civil Society that finds it simpler and easier to look the other way.

Quest'anno il 2Lei, la manifestazione legata alla Giornata Internazionale per l'Eliminazione della Violenza Contro le Donne, si terrà dal 5 al 27 Novembre in Second Life e in Craft World, una grid di Opensim.

“Io Ti Nego”, il titolo di questa edizione, propone un tema di riflessione sul riconoscimento dei diritti non ancora raggiunto e intende affermare che si rende necessaria una forza comune per negare qualsiasi tentativo che limiti questo riconoscimento.

Come ogni anno, da 12 anni, il 2LEI in SECOND LIFE invita TUTTA la comunità a partecipare alla manifestazione legata alla Giornata Internazionale per l'Eliminazione della violenza contro le Donne del 25 Novembre che mira a sensibilizzare l'opinione pubblica sul problema della violenza contro le Donne e contro la violenza di Genere.

L'edizione di quest'anno, la dodicesima, propone un tema di riflessione sul riconoscimento dei diritti non ancora raggiunto e intende affermare che si rende necessaria una forza comune per negare qualsiasi tentativo che limiti questo riconoscimento.

Dal 5 Novembre al 27 Novembre 2021 potrete quindi partecipare con il vostro contributo per sensibilizzare chi è ancora estraneo o indifferente al problema.

Il 2LEI, dal 2010, offre questa possibilità. Chi ha dato il proprio contributo negli anni, sia come organizzatore che come partecipante, ha dimostrato che una comunità di persone può cambiare e migliorare il mondo, nonostante le avversità di chi NON vuole farlo. Non rendiamo vano il lavoro fatto fino ad oggi.

Every year, for 12 years, 2LEI in SECOND LIFE has invited the community to participate in the event linked to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25th. This event aims to raise public awareness of the problem faced of violence against women as well as gender-based violence.

This year's edition proposes a theme for reflection on the recognition of rights not yet achieved and intends to affirm that a common force is needed to deny any attempt to limit this recognition.

From November 5th to 27th 2021 you are encouraged to participate with your contribution to raise awareness of these issues.

The 2LEI, since 2010, gives a voice and affirmation to those who need our help. Those who have contributed over the years, both as organizer and as participants, have shown that a community of people can change and improve the world, despite resistance.

NON SENTIRSI INFERIORE

Le donne Italiane in media (non tutte per fortuna) hanno un mare di limiti e paure. Le donne più mature ma anche le giovani.

Paura di viaggiare da sole, paura di dormire in una casa vuota senza un uomo, paura di guidare per molti chilometri, paura di prendere un aereo da sole, incapacità di mettere un tassello, di usare un tagliaerba, di cambiare una ruota all'auto, di accendere un fuoco e potrei andare avanti per ore basandomi su assurdità indegne pronunciate di continuo dalle donne stesse. Paure e limiti sempre.

Che fastidio!!!

Mi viene il rigurgito quando sento donne che non camminano la notte da sole perché hanno paura anche della loro ombra o non si muovono da casa se il maritino non le accompagna, non prendono un pullman o un treno da sole col buio.

Mi viene il latte alle ginocchia quando sento donne fare i complimenti ad un'altra donna perché è a 1500 km di guida da casa, da sola coi suoi figli... "io non ce l'avrei mai fatta", "ma come hai fatto"... mia cara signora l'auto va da sola, non bisogna spingerla!!!

Mi viene il nervoso quando sento donne lodarsi per avere fatto 400 km di viaggio in auto da sole... ma scusate se trovaste un uomo che si loda per avere fatto 400 km in auto da solo non lo trovereste ridicolo?

E allora parliamone: quanto deve fare di viaggio un uomo per farsi lodare o per lodarsi? 5000 km in una tirata o forse tanto l'uomo non suscita lode se sa guidare per svariati km perché tanto è normale? Ma di cosa stiamo parlando?

Alcune donne si lodano perché si mantengono da sole o vivono da sole; pensiamo a quanto sarebbe ridicolo sentire un uomo lodarsi perché si mantiene da solo... sarebbe inaccettabile per i preconcetti sociali manifestati da troppe persone: un uomo deve essere indipendente altrimenti che uomo è? Altra assurdità!

Troppe donne partono già con l'idea di essere inferiori e incapaci in tutto... "certe cose non le so fare e non le posso fare" o "non le ho mai fatte" o peggio, partono dal preconcetto che un uomo si debba occupare di loro!!!

Ma l'indipendenza dove cavolo è? Ma sveglia!!!

Io odio questa idea di ritardo sociale che troppe donne hanno di se stesse!

Donne. sarebbe bene imparare a dare il bianco, a spostarsi in autonomia, a operare le piccole - e anche grandi - manutenzioni in casa, montare un mobile dopo averlo comprato, caricato e scaricato dall'auto: perché stare con un uomo non sia un'appoggiarsi ma una scelta!!!

È altresì fuorviante credere di essere delle "grandi" o definirsi "donne forti" perché si sa fare ciò che un adulto dovrebbe saper fare senza problemi... si tratta di essere solo normali adulti, questa che viene definita erroneamente come forza è la normalità!

È semplicemente anormale che una persona adulta non sappia fare queste cose, che sia uomo o donna!

Sarà bello quando tutte le donne si sentiranno davvero in pari con l'uomo e agli adulti in generale, quando abbandoneranno la loro infanzia e dipendenza mentale e saranno finalmente indipendenti!

Siamo nel 2020... comunque!

Il post termina qui. È necessario porsi alcune domande: perché troppe donne vogliono ancora sentirsi inferiori?! Cosa fa ancora credere a troppe donne di essere inferiori? Queste catene della mente sono ancora cosi robuste da non poter essere spezzate oppure si tratta solo di pigrizia o poca convinzione?
Bisogna crederci: la parità è a portata di mano e si manifesta anche in queste piccole cose. Vogliamo partire da queste piccole cose per convincere le donne ancora titubanti che bisogna uscire dal proprio guscio, bisogna avere il coraggio di uscire dai propri limiti - quasi sempre auto-imposti.
Bisogna avere fiducia nelle proprie capacità: bisogna tentare e non aver paura di fallire; e questo vale per tutti, donne e uomini.

DO NOT FEEL SUBORDINATE

Italian women on average (not all fortunately) have infinite limits and fears. The more mature women but also the young ones.

Fear of traveling alone, fear of sleeping in an empty house without a man, fear of driving many kilometers, fear of taking a plane alone, inability to put a rawplug, to use a lawnmower, to change a wheel on the car , to light a fire and I could go on for hours based on unworthy absurdities uttered over and over by the women themselves. Fears and limits always.
What a nuisance !!!
If I were a man I would be gay!
I feel sick when I hear women who do not walk alone at night because they are also afraid of their shadow or do not move from home if the hubby does not accompany them, they do not take a bus or a train alone in the dark.
I feel mighty bored when I hear women complimenting another woman because she is driving 1500 km from home, alone with her children ... "I would never have made it", "but how did you done it?"... my dear lady the car goes by itself, you don't have to push it !!!
I get nervous when I hear women praising themselves for having made a 400 km car trip alone ... but sorry if you find a man who praises himself for having done 400 km by car alone, wouldn't you find it ridiculous?
So let's talk: how much travel must a man travel to be praised or to praise himself? 5000 km with no break or maybe a man doesn't get praise if he can drive several km because that's normal?
But what are we talking about?
Some women praise themselves because earning themselves living or living alone; let's think how ridiculous it would be to hear a man praise himself for the same things... it would be unacceptable for the social preconceptions manifested by too many people: a man must be independent otherwise what man is he? More nonsense!
Too many women already start with the idea of being inferior and incapable of everything... "I do not know" or "I can't do" or "I've never done them", or worse, they start from the preconception that a man have to take care of them !!!

What the hell: someone tells me where independence is! Wake Up !!!
I hate this idea of social retardation that too many women have about themselves!
Women, it would be good to learn how to paint walls, to move independently, to carry out small - and even large - home maintenance, to assemble a piece of furniture after having bought it, loaded and unloaded it from the car: because being with a man is not resting but a choice !!!
It is also misleading to believe that you are "grown-up" or to define yourself as "strong women" because you know how to do what an adult should be able to do without problems... it is just beeing normal adults; this, which is wrongly defined as strength, is the normality!
It is simply abnormal for an adult person, man or woman, to not know how to do these things!
It will be great when all women really feel on pair with men and adults in general, when they leave their childhood and mental addiction and are finally independent!

We have to believe it: equality is within reach and it reveals itself even in these little things. We want to start with these little things to convince still hesitant women that they need to get out of their shells, you have to get the courage to step outside your limits - almost always self-imposed.
You have to get confidence in your abilities: you have to try and not be afraid of failing; and this applies to everyone, women and men.

2Lei 2019 - No Violence! - 10° Edizione

Con l'espressione violenza di genere si indicano tutte quelle forme di violenza maschile - psicologica, fisica, sessuale - che colpiscono le donne in quanto donne, costituendo non solo una discriminazione ma anche, e soprattutto, una violazione dei diritti umani.

Per l’Italia, dal punto di vista normativo, si tratta di una nozione relativamente recente: non sono passati 50 anni da quando era ancora permesso, al capofamiglia, l’uso (e spesso l’abuso) di mezzi di correzione e disciplina nei confronti della moglie e dei figli. Solo con il nuovo diritto di famiglia è stata disposta, nel 1975, l’abolizione dell’autorità maritale.

Il resto del percorso non è stato né facile né breve.

Nel 1981 sono scomparsi il delitto d’onore (che riduceva in modo molto significativo le pene per chi provocava la morte della “coniuge, della figlia o della sorella” come reazione alla scoperta di una relazione illegittima o di un altro comportamento che recasse “offesa all’onor suo o della sua famiglia”) e il matrimonio riparatore, che consentiva allo stupratore di estinguere il reato sposando la propria vittima.

Nel 1996 è stato compiuto un altro passo importante: la ridefinizione della violenza sessuale da “reato contro la morale e il buon costume” a “reato contro la persona e contro la libertà individuale”.

Nel 2001 il Parlamento ha approvato l’allontanamento del familiare violento e introdotto misure di protezione sociale per le donne che subiscono violenza.

Nel 2009 sono arrivati strumenti concreti di repressione contro gli atti persecutori (il cosiddetto stalking).

Il vero giro di boa è stato però nel 2013, quando è stata recepita - sia pure con due anni di ritardo rispetto all’adozione da parte del Consiglio d’Europa - la Convenzione di Istanbul sulla prevenzione e la lotta contro la violenza nei confronti delle donne e la violenza domestica. Agli obblighi imposti dalla Convenzione ha dato attuazione il decreto anti-femminicidio che, sempre nel 2013, ha introdotto una serie di misure sia di carattere preventivo che repressivo.

Nel 2015 è stato approvato il primo Piano straordinario contro la violenza sessuale e di genere, seguito nel 2017 dal Piano strategico nazionale sulla violenza maschile contro le donne.

Nuove leggi - su indennizzi economici, congedi dal lavoro, tutela per gli orfani di femminicidio - hanno ampliato gli strumenti a favore delle donne, anche se l'attuazione di queste misure è, molte volte, rimessa a circolari o ad altri atti di rango non primario che rendono difficile, per la vittima, conoscere gli strumenti a propria tutela e richiederne l'applicazione.

Pure la non certezza dei finanziamenti, o la loro scarsità, ha reso difficoltosa l’attuazione di interventi e servizi a protezione delle vittime di violenza (e loro figli e figlie).

Tanto è stato fatto in questi anni, tantissimo purtroppo è ancora da fare.

2Lei in Second Life è un progetto nato nel 2010 quando, in occasione della ricorrenza della "Giornata Internazionale per l'eliminazione della violenza contro le Donne" (25 novembre), diversi artisti virtuali, galleristi e personaggi della cultura di SL sono stati chiamati a condividere nelle proprie land/sim e gruppi di appartenenza un messaggio comune di solidarietà alle vittime della violenza di genere.

Tante esposizioni e tanti incontri sono stati organizzati per questa edizione... speriamo che vorrete scoprire e condividere questo nuovo percorso insieme a noi, poichè tutto risulta più semplice quando si fa “insieme”.

2Lei 2019 - No Violence! - 10th Edition

The term gender violence refers to all those forms of male violence - psychological, physical, sexual - that affect women as women, constituting not only discrimination but also, and above all, a violation of human rights.

The anti-feminicide decree has been implemented for the obligations imposed by the Convention which, also in 2013, introduced a series of preventive and repressive measures.

In 2015 the first extraordinary plan against sexual and gender-based violence was approved, followed in 2017 by the national strategic plan on male violence against women.

New laws - on economic indemnities, leave from work, protection for feminicide orphans - have expanded the tools in favor of women, even if the implementation of these measures is, many times, referred to circulars or other non-ranking acts primary that make it difficult for the victim to know the tools to protect and request the application.

Even the non-certainty of funding, or their scarcity, has made it difficult to implement interventions and services to protect victims of violence (and their children and daughters).

Queste sono le parole con cui Dante parla della ragazza di cui è innamorato nella Vita Nova. E' la medesima ragazza la cui morte scatenerà il dramma esistenziale che condurrà alla selva oscura e a quel monumento rivoluzionario di umanità, arte, filosofia, teologia e politica che è la Divina Commedia.

Dante badava molto alle parole, e, tra queste, alle parole con cui si rivolgeva alla sua donna. Usava parole così gentili, stupefatte e dense di rispetto e ammirazione che a qualcuno rendono difficile l'immedesimazione con il poeta.

A Dante piaceva molto giocare con le parole e lo sapeva fare come nessun'altro.

Dante rispettava le parole. Dante rispettava la donna.

In questo nostro strano mondo contemporaneo, noi abbiamo paura delle parole.

Abbiamo paura delle parole, tant’è vero che le corrompiamo, le pervertiamo continuamente.

Da ragazzina abitavo in un piccolo paesino di provincia, un luogo dove mio nonno sorvegliava dal balcone della sua casa al quarto piano, che dava sulla via principale, il passaggio dei carri agricoli per poter correre immediatamente giù a raccogliere, con secchiello e paletta, lo sterco dei cavalli da usare nell’orto.

Non mi ricordo il suo nome, ma uno dei concorrenti principali di mio nonno era lo spazzino, sempre in giro con il suo carretto spinto dalla bicicletta e la sua grossa scopa di saggina, a pulire le strade. Lo Spazzino era una delle figure più conosciute, e pertanto più eminenti, del paese, insieme all’unico vigile (lo chiamavamo “il Messo”), al postino (il Signor Paolo), alle maestre, alle suore dell’asilo, al parroco, al sindaco. Lo Spazzino era un omone grande e grosso, serissimo, dignitoso, nella sua divisa grigia completa di berretto con visiera. Era un uomo conscio dell’importanza del proprio lavoro e che, appunto, lavorava con dignità. L’idea di offendersi o anche solo di sentirsi sminuito nel proprio ruolo dall’appellativo di “spazzino” non apparteneva né alla sensibilità sua, né a quella dei suoi concittadini. Quello faceva: puliva le strade. Lui era lo spazzino e ne era orgoglioso.

Ricordate la comparsa di termini come “operatore ecologico”? Cosa diamine significa? Appellare in tale modo uno spazzino muta in qualche modo natura e caratteristiche del loro lavoro? Conferisce loro maggior dignità? Maggior rispetto? Certamente no.

Nel mio profilo SL, dove si scrive cosa interessa, ovvero perché si è in SL, io ho messo una parola sola: “words”. Come diceva (urlando) quello in un suo film: “Le parole sono importanti!”.

Le parole sono importanti e la loro perversione ci impedisce ogni comunicazione onesta. Ci ostacola ogni rapporto. Ci impedisce di vivere degnamente. Ci impedisce di vivere.

La perversione delle parole porta alla perversione dei rapporti, fino al loro annullamento. Non è interessante osservare che questa corruzione dei significati è avvenuta di pari passo con lo sviluppo del web? Con l’uso sempre più assurdamente pervasivo dei cellulari e dei social media?

La perversione delle parole è sovente accompagnata dal loro utilizzo retorico, fortemente retorico. Retorico nel senso deteriore del termine. Vuoto. Di mera facciata. Per secondi fini. À la page, si diceva; oggi si dice in modo politicamente corretto, che per capire meglio trascrivo così: per assecondare il potere dominante, la cultura dominante. La moda.

Quando mai al potere dominante interessa la realtà? La verità? La bellezza? La giustizia?

Quando mai al potere dominante interessano le persone? Quando mai al potere dominante interessano le donne? Al potere oggi dominante interessano i soldi, o il potere stesso. Chi esercita un potere per il gusto del potere stesso è per definizione reazionario e conservatore, a prescindere da suo eventuale o sedicente colore politico. Contro costoro, i miei amici di sinistra insegnano che si fanno le rivoluzioni.

La corruzione delle parole ha come scopo ultimo l'imbroglio, l'inganno. La realtà è un fastidio? La si elimina facendola innanzitutto saltare sul piano semantico, cosicché si possa illudere il popolo di mutarla anche a livello fisico, concreto.

La trasposizione da realtà a sogno diventa potente strumento, funzionale alla completa alterazione dei desideri.

Chiedo perdono per questa divagazione, ma è stato chiesto a me di scrivere questo testo, quindi fatevene una ragione. Ma cosa c’entra con tutto questo la violenza sulle donne?

Beh, c’entra: non siamo nauseati dalla retorica della violenza di genere? Non è insopportabile l’uso retorico e strumentale e perverso del concetto di violenza alle donne?

Ricordate l’anno scorso, non molto prima di 2Lei 2017, quella donna tedesca legata, violentata e lasciata lì, legata, a Roma? Quante volte e per quanto tempo i mezzi di comunicazione di massa hanno continuato, cinicamente, sadicamente, pervicacemente, coscientemente a stuprare quella povera donna? Il tutto, naturalmente, facendo leva sulla necessità di denunciare l’ennesimo atto di violenza alle donne? Hanno effettivamente contribuito a diffondere una cultura più civile e di rispetto, oppure hanno semplicemente e, ripeto, deliberatamente, incrementato pruriti indegni?

Una delle parole più pervertite, non a caso, è la parola "amore". Oggi, nel linguaggio corrente, amore significa spesso qualcosa di simile al soddisfacimento del proprio piacere narcisistico. Sfuma nell'erotismo, quando non nel sesso nudo e crudo. Tempo fa, amore significava dare la vita ad altri: non a caso abbiamo riletto quella poesia, quelle parole di un uomo innamorato, cui l'amore per la sua donna stravolge tutta la vita mutandola in meglio e portandola attraverso percorsi imprevedibili ad una grandezza umana impensabile. Definitivamente. Oggi, quello stesso bisogno infinito cui amore tenta risposta è poco più che un capriccio. Qualcosa di provvisorio, di transitorio. Di temporaneo. Va' dove ti porta il cuore diviene lo spunto per disimpegnarsi da ogni serietà responsabile in qualsiasi rapporto. Per disimpegnarsi dalla realtà, dato che la complessità della realtà non presuppone mera emozione o istintività banale.

Così, va a finire che ci si innamora di una donna – o di un uomo – come di una automobile. Come di un bene di consumo.

Appunto.

Traduco: amore viene riferito ad un oggetto che dura poco. Che va bene finché piace. Poi si butta.

Esiste ovviamente il caso simmetrico: se ne ho bisogno e se posso farlo, ti prendo. Ne ho diritto. Mi servi. Non puoi negarmi la felicità, non puoi negarmi la soddisfazione di ciò che mi preme dentro.

La perversione delle parole, la corruzione della realtà, ha come unico possibile fine potere e profitto. Comunque, potere. E chi può, fa: nulla avrebbe senso, altrimenti. Ma cosa fa? Tutto. Tutto ciò che può. Se ha molto potere, fa tutto ciò che vuole. Abusa di chiunque voglia. Vuoi fare un film? Dammela. Vuoi un lavoro? Dammela. Non vuoi che ti picchi? Dammela. Vuoi che ti lasci in pace? Dammela. Ne ho voglia: dammela.

E noi siamo in SL, un ambiente che promette una seconda possibilità di vita virtuale a tutti: riconosciamo che può essere un modo assai “retorico” e "perverso" per agire. Quando si usa un cellulare o si entra in SL per costruire un rapporto, basta poco per chiudere. Per cambiare. Per procurarsi nuovi piaceri altrimenti. Basta un click.

Non è che SL non sia reale: sappiamo che può far molto male, ad esempio, quindi è reale, eccome. Ma non avendo alcuna concretezza e rendendo possibili ampi ed irresponsabili svolazzi (sia del cuore che dell'inguine, per intenderci), ci apre possibilità di male assai significative. Qui dentro non solo si può abusare di una donna, magari dando seguito a discutibili pulsioni che ammettono il consenso della vittima in una sorta di gioco di ruolo, ma anche squartarla, farla a pezzi, ucciderla: ho visto che nel market sono proposti e distribuiti aggeggi per fare questo. Inoltre, non si può certo negare che erotismo e sesso siano contenuti frequenti ed usuali in ampi settori di SL.

Abbiate pazienza, ma fuor di retorica, appunto, sarebbe forse il caso che noi per prime la smettessimo di giocare su più binari, anche se poi partecipiamo a 2Lei.

Non è chiaro? Lasciatemi dire che su certi argomenti la Chiesa la sa lunga. Tra i comandamenti, non c’è solo il sesto, quello degli atti impuri, ma pure il nono. Non desiderare. Perché "Avete inteso che fu detto: Non commettere adulterio; ma io vi dico: chiunque guarda una donna per desiderarla, ha già commesso adulterio con lei nel suo cuore" (Matteo 5,27-28).

La coerenza non è necessaria, perché siamo fatti come sappiamo, con ogni nostra debolezza. Ma un minimo di consapevolezza di cosa realmente siano le cose e di cosa realmente siano noi…!

La violenza sulle donne (ed ogni violenza, di qualsiasi tipo e su chiunque) non può essere affrontata e tanto meno raccontata con un sentimentalismo sciocco che in ultima analisi è omaggio al potere e pertanto, volenti o nolenti, lo gonfia ulteriormente, astraendosi dalla realtà delle cose e privando anche le parole del loro significato.

Violenza sulle donne vuol dire che quella persona particolare, con quella faccia, viene degradata a pupazzo di piacere e ferita in ciò che, fisicamente, forse più di ogni altra cosa la rende se stessa, cioè donna, magari madre. Vuol dire che quella lì è stata uccisa e quell’altra, per fortuna, solo picchiata… cosa dire più di questo?

Noi non vogliamo che 2Lei si trasformi in una passerella per cliché stinti, di parole pervertite nel loro senso, di omaggi retorici a drammi purtroppo ben reali. Di asservimento alle logiche turpi e schifose di quel potere che tutto mangia e vomita irrimediabilmente alterato.

These are the words that Dante uses in the "Vita Nova" to talk about the girl he is in love with. She is the same girl whose death will unleash the existential drama that will lead to the dark forest and to that revolutionary monument of humanity, art, philosophy, theology and politics that is the Divine Comedy.

Words are very important for Dante; he took great care of them and it is interesting consider how are important the words with which he addressed his woman. He used words so kind, stupefied and full of respect and admiration that someone couldn’t believe that the author of this poem is the same and most famous poet, the great Dante.

Dante liked to play with words and no one could do it better. Dante respected the words. Dante respected the woman.

In our strange contemporary world, we are afraid of words.

We are afraid of words, so much so that we corrupt them, we continually pervert them.

When I was a child, I lived in a small village in the provinces, a place where my grandfather watched from the balcony of his house facing to the main road, at fourth-floor, the passage of farm cart to run immediately down to collect, with bucket and shovel, dung of horses, to be used in the vegetable garden.

I do not remember his name, but one of my grandfather's main competitors was the street sweeper, always around with his cart pushed by the bicycle and his big broomstick, cleaning the streets. The Sweeper was one of the most known and therefore most eminent figures in the country, together with the only policeman (we called him "the Messenger"), the postman (Mr.Paolo), the teachers, the nuns of the nursery school, the parish priest, the mayor. The street sweeper was a big and strong man, very serious, dignified, in his gray uniform with a peaked cap. He was a man aware of the importance of his work and who, in fact, worked with dignity. He never felt himself or his sensibility offended by the name of "street sweeper"; also his fellow citizens never had the idea of offending him or belittle him in his role.

Do you remember, in Italian language, the appearance of terms as an "ecological operator"? What the hell does that mean? Calling in this way a street sweeper in any way does change nature and characteristics of his work? Does it give him more dignity? Greater respect? Certainly not. .

In my SL profile, where you write what you are interested in, that is why you are in SL, I put only one word: "words". As the Italian film’s director Nanni Moretti said (shouting) in one of his films: "Words are important!".

Words are important and their perversion prevents us from honest communication. It hinders us any relationship. It prevents us from living worthily. It prevents us from living.

The perversion of words leads to the perversion of relationships, until their annulment. Is not it interesting to note that this corruption of meanings has been hand in hand with the development of the web? With the increasingly absurdly pervasive use of mobile phones and social media?

The perversion of words is often accompanied by their rhetorical, highly rhetorical use. Rhetoric in the worst sense of the term. Empty. Of a mere facade. For ulterior motives. "À la page", it was said; today it is said politically correct, that in order to understand better I transcribe this way: to support dominant power, the dominant culture. Fashion.

When is the dominant power ever interested in reality? In the truth? in the Beauty? In the Justice?

When is the dominant power ever interested in people? When is the dominant power ever interested in women? The dominant power today has affection on money, or on power itself. Whoever exercises power for the sake of power itself is by definition reactionary and conservative, regardless of his eventual or self-styled political color. Against them, my leftist friends teach that we have to do revolutions.

The corruption of words has as its ultimate purpose the fraud, the deception. Is reality a nuisance? It is eliminated by making it first of all jump on the semantic plane, so that one can deceive the people to change it also on a physical, concrete level.

The transposition from reality to dream becomes a powerful tool, functional to the complete alteration of desires.

I beg your pardon for this digression, but I have been asked to write this text, so please let me go on. But what does violence on women have to do with all this?

Well, it has to do with it: are we not nauseated by the rhetoric of gender-based violence? Is the rhetorical and instrumental and perverse use of the concept of violence against women not intolerable?

Do you remember last year, just near the date of 2Lei 2017, that German woman raped and left there, tied up, in Rome? How many times and for how long did the mass media continue, cynically, sadistically, stubbornly, consciously to rape that poor woman? All this, naturally leveraging on the need to denounce the umpteenth act of violence to women? Have they effectively contributed to spread a more civilized culture of respect, or have they simply and, again, deliberately, increased unworthy itchiness?

One of the most perverted words, not by chance, is now the word "love". Today, in current language, love often means something similar to satisfying one's narcissistic pleasure. It fades into eroticism, when not in nude and raw sex. Some time ago, love meant giving your life to others: it was not by chance that we reread that Dante’s poetry, those words of a man in love, whose love for his woman upsets all his life by changing it for the better and taking it through unpredictable paths to human greatness, unthinkable before. Definitely. Today, that same infinite need whose love tries to answer is little more than a whim. Something temporary, transitory. Something temporary. Go where your heart takes you becomes the inspiration to disengage from any seriousness responsibility in any relationship. To disengage from reality, given that the complexity of reality does not presuppose mere emotion or trivial instinct.

So, what really happens is that falling in love with a woman - or a man – is like to wish a car. A woman is a consumer good.

Exactly.

I translate: love refers to an object that does not last long. That's fine as long as you like it. Then that object is trash.

There is obviously the symmetrical case: if I need it, I'll take you. I have that right. I need you. You can not deny my happiness, you can not deny me the satisfaction of what presses me inside.

The perversion of words, the corruption of reality, has as its only possible end power and profit. Anyway, power. So, who can, does: nothing would make sense, otherwise. What does it do? All. All that he (or she) can. If he has a lot of power, he does everything he wants. Abuses anyone who wants. Do you want to make a movie? Let I fuck you. Do you want a job? Let I fuck you. Do not you want me to hit you? Let I fuck you. Do you want me to leave you alone? Let I fuck you. I want it: give it to me.

And we are in SL, an environment that promises a second chance for virtual life for all: we must agree that it can be a very "rhetorical" and "perverse" way to act. When you use a mobile phone or you enter SL to build a relationship, it does not take much to close. To change. To get new pleasures otherwise.

It’s not true say that SL is not real: we know it can hurt a lot, for example, so it's real, certainly. But not having any concreteness and making possible large and irresponsible flourishes (both heart and groin, to be clear), opens up very significant possibilities for evil. Here you can not only abuse a woman, perhaps following a questionable impulses that admit the victim's consent in a sort of role-playing game, but also rip it apart, cut it to pieces, kill it: I saw that in the market they are proposed and distributed gadgets to do this. Furthermore, it can not be denied that eroticism and sex are frequent and usual contents in large sectors of SL.

Be patient, but far from any rhetoric, really, it would perhaps be the case that we first stop playing on more tracks, even if we then participate in 2Lei.

It is not clear? Let me say that the Church knows very well this matter. Among the commandments, there is not only the sixth, the one about impure acts, but also the ninth. Do not wish. Because "You have heard that it was said: Do not commit adultery, but I tell you: anyone who looks at a woman to desire her, has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5: 27-28).

Consistency is not necessary, because we are made as we know, with all our weaknesses. But a minimum of awareness of what things really are and what ourselves really are ...!

Violence against women (and any violence, of any kind and on anyone) can not be faced and above all told with a silly sentimentalism that is ultimately a tribute to power and therefore, willingly or unwillingly, inflates it further, abstracting from reality of things and also depriving the words of their meaning.

Violence against women means so: exactly that particular person, with her own face, is degraded to a puppet of pleasure and wounded in what, physically, perhaps more than anything else makes her herself, that is to say woman, maybe mother. It means that that girl was killed and the other one, fortunately, only beaten... what to say more than so?

We do not want that 2Lei becomes a catwalk for faded cliché, words perverted in their sense, rhetorical tributes to dramas unfortunately very real. We do not want that 2Lei be servitude to the clumsy and disgusting logic of that power that eats everything and vomits it irreparably altered.

"RISPETTO"

Benvenuti alla 8° edizione di 2Lei in Second Life, che, come molti di voi sapranno, è legata alla Giornata Internazionale per l'eliminazione della Violenza contro le donne, giunta quest'anno alla sua 18° edizione.

Molti di voi sapranno che la data scelta, il 25 di novembre, è legata all'omicidio delle sorelle Mirabal, 3 donne dominicane che sostenevano attivamente un movimento di protesta contro il regime del generale Trujillo, con l'obiettivo di rovesciarne la dittatura, che furono uccise dalla polizia segreta del generale, anche a causa del grande consenso che il movimento riscuoteva tra i dominicani.

Molti di voi sapranno anche che il termine femminicidio, utilizzato per la prima volta nel 1990 ed entrato ormai, purtroppo, nell'uso comune della nostra lingua ufficiale dal 2008, definisce in senso stretto "Uccisione diretta o provocata, eliminazione fisica o annientamento morale della donna e del suo ruolo sociale", citando Treccani, e in senso più ampio "Qualsiasi forma di violenza esercitata sistematicamente sulle donne in nome di una sovrastruttura ideologica di matrice patriarcale, allo scopo di perpetuare la subordinazione e di annientare l'identità attraverso l'assoggettamento fisico o psicologico, fino alla schiavitù o alla morte", per citare l'Accademia della Crusca o il Devoto Oli.

Molti di voi sapranno infine che i dati parlano chiaro: nel 2016 in Italia i casi di femminicidio sono stati 120 e nel 2017 si procede con una media di 1 ogni 3 giorni. Negli ultimi 10 anni oltre il 70% delle donne uccise in Italia sono state vittime di familiari e quasi l'80% delle donne che hanno subito azioni di stalking non hanno sporto alcuna denuncia.

E noi siamo qui per coloro che sanno tutto questo ma anche, e forse soprattutto, per coloro che non lo sanno o non hanno il coraggio di accettare l'evidenza dei fatti.

Siamo sommersi e spesso sopraffatti dalle continue, numerose notizie su episodi di violenza inflitti non solo alle donne ma a soggetti ritenuti deboli. Le attrici costrette ad accettare le molestie di un produttore (uno?), le fidanzate uccise dai fidanzati, le mogli uccise dai mariti, donne uccise e molestate da colleghi, conoscenti, vicini di casa, straniere aggredite fisicamente e verbalmente...

Ma ogni atto di violenza, dal più piccolo al più grande, di qualunque genere sia la vittima, ha una radice comune: la mancanza di rispetto nei confronti di chi soccombe.

E il Rispetto è proprio il tema del 2Lei di quest'anno.

Rispetto, sostantivo maschile, definisce la Treccani, il sentimento che porta a riconoscere i diritti, il decoro, la dignità e la personalità stessa di qualcuno, e quindi ad astenersi da ogni manifestazione che possa offendere. Sembra semplice. Invece no.

Vogliamo parlare di rispetto in senso ampio, rispetto per il genere, per le diversità, per i diversi credo, per il colore della pelle, la filosofia di vita, le idee politiche, basta che non si sconfini nel qualunquismo, che non passi che tutte le idee hanno la stessa dignità, perchè non è così, la violenza non è mai e poi mai ammessa e quindi rispettata.

Nessuna delle persone che compiono atti violenza, dalla battuta sessista o razzista al femminicidio, ha rispetto per l'altro. Di conseguenza non ne ha nemmeno per sé stesso, ma questo è un altro discorso... o forse no?

Di recente, in una intervista concessa a Oliver Stone, Putin ha detto una cosa che fa riflettere: alla domanda di Stone su come ci si sentisse a gestire un potere tanto grande, Putin ha risposto che non è una questione di quantità, ma di gestione di quel potere.

Anche in relazione alla violenza è la stessa cosa: la gestione del potere che si presume di avere, in relazione a qualcuno che, apparentemente, potere non ne ha o che crede di non averne, o che è in una posizione di subalternità o situazione psicologica o anche culturale tale da non poter reagire.

Come accennato prima, molte vittime non denunciano, come se rinunciassero a difendersi, come se riconoscessero il potere di chi le opprime. Ma non è così: è una questione di gestione del potere, anche se millantato o attribuito.

E quindi è urgente l'educazione al rispetto, che annullerebbe questo equivoco mortale.

E il rispetto va insegnato agli uomini, e alle donne, in modo che tutti lo pretendano, che nessuno possa più aver paura di dire no, io la penso diversamente, basta o addio.

La buona notizia è che molti, uomini e donne, lo sanno, hanno rispetto, lo pretendono, sono evoluti, intelligenti, sensibili. E molti altri ci stanno lavorando e ci arriveranno, con l'aiuto delle associazioni e delle istituzioni. E, perché no?, anche un po' nostro.

La serie di eventi che anche quest'anno vi presenteremo sarà tutta incentrata su questo tema. Partecipate, divertitevi, riflettete insieme a noi.

"Respect"

Welcome to the 8th edition of 2Lei in Second Life, which, as many of you know, is linked to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, this year in its 18th edition.

Many of you will know that the date chosen on November 25 is related to the murder of Mirabal sisters, 3 Dominican women who actively supported a protest movement against General Trujillo's regime with the aim of overthrowing the dictatorship and were killed by the general's secret police, also because of the great effect that the movement had among the Dominicans.

Many of you will also know that the term feminicide, used for the first time in 1990 and unfortunately in the common use of our official language since 2008, defines in the strict sense "Direct or Proved Killing, Physical Elimination or Moral Abduction of woman and her social role", quoting Treccani, and in a broader sense "Any form of violence systematically exercised on women in the name of an ideological superstructure of a patriarchal matrix, in order to perpetuate subordination and to eradicate identity through the physical or psychological subordination, to slavery or to death" to quote the Academy of Crusca or the Devoto Oli.

Finally, most of you will know that the data are clear: in 2016, feminicide cases in Italy numbered 120 and in 2017, an average of 1 every 3 days. Over the last 10 years, more than 70% of women killed in Italy have been victims of family members and almost 80% of women who have been stalking have not filed any complaints.

We are here for those who know all this but also, and perhaps above all, for those who do not know or who do not have the courage to accept the evidence of the facts.

We are overwhelmed and often exhausted by the continuous, numerous news regarding episodes of violence inflicted not only on women but on subjects considered weak. The actresses forced to accept the harassment of a producer (one?), the girlfriends killed by the boyfriends, the wives killed by husbands, women killed and harassed by colleagues, acquaintances, neighbors, strangers attacked physically and verbally ...

But every act of violence, from the smallest to the greatest, of any kind has a common root: the lack of respect towards those who succumb.

And Respect is the theme of 2Lei this year.

Respect (a male noun) in the essence of the Treccani quotation, it is a sentiment that leads to recognizing someone's rights, dignity, and personality, and thus to abstain from any manifestation that might offend. It looks simple. Instead it is not.

We want to talk about respect in the broad sense, respect for gender, diversity, different beliefs, skin color, philosophy of life, political ideas. Not to entertain the false equivalence that all ideas have the same dignity, because this is not the case, violence is never, ever, to be given respect..

No one who commits acts of violence, from sexist or racist to feminicide, has respect for others. As a result, he does not even have it for himself, but this is another talk ... or maybe not?

Recently, in an interview with Oliver Stone, Putin said something that made us think: to Stone's question of how to handle such a big power, Putin replied that it was not a matter of quantity, but management of that power.

Even in relation to violence it is the same thing: the management of the power one has in relation to someone who, apparently, does not have power or believes he does not have such power, or is in a position of subservience, or who finds them self in a psychological or even cultural situation where they cannot react.

As mentioned earlier, many victims do not denounce such violence, as if they renounce all self defense, as if they surrender to the power of those who oppress them. But that is not the case: it is a matter of power management, even if it is attributed by the oppressed.

It is therefore urgent to teach respect, which would annul this deadly misunderstanding.

And respect must be taught to men and women, so that nobody can ever be afraid to say "no"', "I think differently", just "enough" or "goodbye".

The good news is that many, men and women, know, respect, are evolved, are intelligent and sensitive. And many others are working to evolve and they will come to us, with the help of associations and institutions. And why not?

The series of events that will be present this year will be all about this theme. Take part, enjoy yourself, reflect with us.

Il 14 febbraio sarà una giornata che vedrà One Billion Rising affermare, ancora una volta, sulle note di “Break The Chain”, il proprio NO alla violenza su donne e bambine e l’urgenza di una rivoluzione che scardini mentalità e pratiche basate su abuso, omertà e sopraffazione.

Ci si muove verso una presa di coscienza collettiva che ci si augura porti nuovi risultati a fronte di un’emergenza che non può essere rinviata oltre, a livello globale e locale.

Quest’anno la parola d’ordine di One Billion Rising è SOLIDARIETÀ: solidarietà contro lo sfruttamento delle donne, solidarietà contro il razzismo e il sessismo ancora presente in tutto il mondo. Infatti non c'è nulla di più potente della solidarietà globale, perché questa ci fa sentire più al sicuro nell'esprimere quello che pensiamo e ci dà più coraggio nell’intraprendere quello che ci impegniamo a fare. L’obiettivo diventa quindi ottenere l’attenzione, il coinvolgimento e l’impegno delle istituzioni affinché attuino forme di prevenzione e controllo oltre che politiche sociali ed educative per contrastare il fenomeno della violenza in ogni sua declinazione.

Anche quest'anno 2Lei in Second Life è parte integrante del One Billion Rising in Second Life con l'imperdibile "Particles show" di Tansee ed una installazione che ospita opere di diversi artisti di Second Life che hanno voluto aderire con noi a questa iniziativa:

"Parità di genere e di diritti"

Benvenuti alla settima edizione di 2Lei in Second Life, in occasione della 18esima Giornata Internazionale per l'Eliminazione della Violenza sulle Donne.

Come ogni anno, dal 2010, il Comitato ha organizzato una serie di eventi per attirare l'attenzione sul problema della condizione femminile e soprattutto della violenza che ancora viene inflitta, sotto le più svariate forme, alle donne.

In questo modo speriamo di informare e sensibilizzare le persone che ancora non conoscono questo problema (ce ne sono ancora in giro, forse?), di stimolarne la riflessione, ma anche di affiancare, incentivare e arricchire quelle che invece sanno benissimo di cosa si parla.
Non sarà un viaggio triste, anzi, sarà interessante e divertente, sereno, come ogni percorso consapevole.

Il tema di quest'anno è la Parità di genere e di diritti.

Il Global Gender Gap Index, stilato dal World Economic Forum, è una classifica che dà conto del monitoraggio sulla discriminazione tra uomini e donne in molti paesi del mondo e assegna all’Italia, per il 2015, il 41° posto, su 145 nazioni.
In questa classifica, nell’ultimo anno, il nostro paese ha guadagnato 28 posizioni e questo è, certamente, un successo, ma questo risultato non è frutto di un processo del tutto “naturale” e spontaneo, visto che è stato ottenuto anche grazie al sostegno di una legge che impone la presenza di una percentuale di donne nella composizione degli organi amministrativi.
Siamo ancora alla tutela delle donne "per legge", almeno in questo campo, perché le donne, per essere considerate al pari degli uomini, hanno ancora bisogno di aiuto.
Per tacere di tutti gli ambiti e le situazioni in cui le donne non sono protette affatto.
Il gender gap, infatti, la diseguaglianza di considerazione e quindi di trattamento tra maschi e femmine, tra uomini e donne, è frutto di vecchi pregiudizi e crea una segregazione, sia orizzontale che verticale, del genere femminile. Le donne sono ancora discriminate all'interno delle famiglie, di alcune categorie professionali, sono relegate a incarichi più umili e sottopagate rispetto ai colleghi maschi e la stessa discriminazione genera in molte di loro una scarsa autostima, che le spinge a non ribellarsi, al timore di farsi valere, mascherando questa condizione, come fosse una libera scelta, cosa che rende il superamento di certi pregiudizi ancora più difficile.

Si lavora intensamente affinché questo diventi retaggio di un passato di cui vergognarsi, da studiare come fenomeno sociale da non replicare mai; ma nel frattempo dobbiamo difenderci e difendere le vittime delle violenze, degli abusi, delle ingiustizie.

Si allunga ogni giorno la lista delle vittime.
La violenza si articola in varietà “nuove”, legate al progresso, alla tecnologia e all'ignoranza. Quando questi elementi convivono in modo distorto, inconsapevole, acritico, generano perversioni sempre più sottili e crudeli. La cronaca recente ci racconta storie orribili.

Ma non ci sono solo cattive notizie.
Una buona notizia è che sempre più uomini ci seguono, sempre più maschi sono consapevoli che la parità di genere, e quindi di diritti, non deve essere una conquista ma è un diritto naturale e come tale non dovrebbe mai essere messa in discussione o in pericolo o, peggio ancora, negata.

Erano già tantissimi, per educazione, per cultura, per carattere, ma il loro numero aumenta e il loro supporto, indispensabile da sempre, è sempre più decisivo e incisivo per il raggiungimento della consapevolezza collettiva che, senza parità e rispetto, non ne verremo mai fuori.

Una notizia ancora più bella è che sempre più donne imparano a difendersi e ad essere consapevoli del valore della propria persona e della propria dignità, si emancipano e insegnano ad altre donne a seguirle, a farsi rispettare, a diffondere la cultura del rispetto che, alla fine, speriamo presto, ci porterà alla Parità di Genere e di Diritti reale, quella vera, senza più bisogno di aiuto e sostegno, libera, naturale, Giusta.

Questo è il filo che tiene legati tutti gli eventi dell’edizione numero 7, per invitarci, insegnarci, aiutarci a riflettere e, così, farci vincere questa battaglia.

Perché solo con la Parità di genere e di diritti, questo stato naturale che ancora viene negato a troppe donne, solo con il Rispetto e la Cultura, potremo essere libere davvero, consapevoli e serene.

"Gender equality"

Welcome to the 7th edition of 2Lei in Second Life, celebrating the 18th International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

As in previous years, the committee has organized a number of events to highlight the issues surrounding the condition of women, especially the ongoing violence, in so many forms, to which women are still subjected.

We hope to inform those still not aware of the problem, and invite all to think about it, and support and encourage those who are very well aware of the scourge of violence against women.

This will not be, however, a depressing look on this serious subject, but rather, an informative journey through a reality which we all wish no longer existed.

This year's theme: Gender equality.

The World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Index monitors and classifies discrimination between men and women in many countries. In the 2015 report, Italy ranked 41 out of 145 nations. This year, Italy has moved up 28 places – thanks not so much through 'natural' improvements in behavior, but due to a law that requires state and local administrations to employ a certain percentage of women.

Sadly, then, the position of women still has to be protected by law, and old fashioned ideas about male superiority persist, and in many work situations, women have no protection at all.

The gender gap, the way women and men are treated differently, is a product of old prejudices. These create vertical and horizontal segregation of women on their career trajectory.

Women encounter discrimination in the family and in the workplace. They are given less prestigious tasks to do, and are paid less than their male colleagues. This discrimination creates a lack of self respect which in turn makes them be unwilling to rebel or to fearlessly show what they are capable of; in turn, they often feel they must act as if it were part of the normal scheme of things, thus making it even harder to get beyond prejudices.

Much work is being done to cast off the shameful past, a set of attitudes that merit study only as a way to prevent the behavior from being repeated in the future. At the same time we need to defend ourselves and those still victims of abuse and injustice.

The list of victims gets longer every day, and as society progresses, it takes new forms. New technology, combined with a persisting lack of enlightenment in society creates the possibility for distorted, cruel and perverted behavior, as recent stories in the press have shown.

But it's not all bad news.

The good news is that more men than ever are becoming aware of the need for gender equality as a natural right, not something that needs to be earned. The help and support of this growing band of educated and caring men is a valuable part of our collective awareness that equality and mutual respect are essential.

Another positive fact is that many men who are or have been violent in the past are coming to a realization that their behavior must change. The increase in demand for anti-violence centers, offering courses in anger management, is a heartening sign of improvement.

A great step forward is the growing number of women taking steps to own their self worth and personal dignity. They spread the word by teaching other women to require respect from others, thus creating a ripple effect in attitudes toward gender. Hopefully in time this will bring about real equality in gender rights, above and beyond the provisions of the law.

This is the theme of our 7^th edition, which we hope will teach, inspire and perhaps contribute towards victory in the battle.

Gender equality – a natural condition still denied to many women – combined with respect and good manners are the basis on which all people, men and women, can be free to live thoughtful and serene lives.

Dopo "I monologhi della Vagina", ecco una evoluzione del discorso sul rapporto tra le donne e il proprio corpo: si parlerà di sessualità femminile, partendo dall'attività dell'associazione La Valigia Rossa.

Intervista a Francesca D'Onofrio, psicoterapeuta, docente e consulente per la salute e il benessere psicosessuale delle donne, che ci parlerà del suo libro "In viaggio con La Valigia Rossa - Indagine casuale e semiseria sulla sessualità delle italiane di oggi" e anche de "La Valigia Rossa", appunto.

Si tratta dell'esperienza di Francesca, in giro per l'Italia con La Valigia Rossa, nella sua attività di promozione della conoscenza della sessualità nelle varie fasi della vita, il diritto a vivere il proprio piacere senza sensi di colpa e aggiungendo un pizzico di ironia.

Tutto questo per una maggiore consapevolezza di sé stesse e per una migliore armonia nei rapporti con i partner.

Tra ironia, poesia e verità si racconta la donna, la sua sessualità, la sua femminilità, dando voce alla Vagina, quella parte del corpo che più la identifica e che diventa strumento di emancipazione, attraverso il quale le donne possono riprendersi la propria individualità.

Eve Ensler scrisse la prima edizione dei "Monologhi della Vagina" nel 1996, dopo aver intervistato oltre duecento donne ed averne ricavato insoliti questionari ed alcuni monologhi, che sono poi aumentati nel corso degli anni, fino all'ultima edizione del 2010 (Traduzione italiana disponibile nelle edizioni Il Saggiatore e Marco Tropea).
La prima rappresentazione teatrale dei "Monologhi della Vagina" ha avuto luogo nel 1998, nel seminterrato del Cornelia Street Café di New York. L'opera ha successivamente guadagnato molta popolarità, al punto di essere presentata, nel 2001, al Madison Square Garden.
In Italia, lo spettacolo viene rappresentato per la prima volta il 5 marzo 2001, al Teatro Argentina di Roma.

Questo spettacolo, nato come una celebrazione umoristica e poetica che esortava le donne ad amarsi di più, abbandonando i tabù e i condizionamenti di una cultura maschilista, è presto diventato un simbolo della lotta alla violenza sulle donne, da raggiungere anche attraverso la conoscenza e la piena consapevolezza del proprio corpo.
Nasce così, nel 2001 il V-Day, un'organizzazione internazionale che, con rappresentazioni teatrali, aiuta le associazioni che assistono le donne vittime di violenza domestica. Successivamente viene lanciata la Campagna One Billion Rising, celebrata in tutto il mondo (e anche su Second Life) il giorno di San Valentino, durante il quale, attraverso la gioia della musica e della danza, migliaia di persone manifestano, chiedendo diritti, parità e giustizia.

Ne è passato del tempo da quell'"indicibile" parola pronunciata sommessamente, ma anche da quando, nel 1998, un editore che aveva già pagato un anticipo ad Eve Ensler per assicurarsi il libro, ripensandoci le disse che poteva tenersi i soldi, purché portasse quel libro e la sua V da qualche altra parte.
Sono cambiate molte cose da allora, eppure... è di pochi giorni fa la notizia che ad Ocala, in Florida, qualcuno ha impedito la messa in scena dello spettacolo, giudicato inappropriato, presentando richiesta di annullamento al Consiglio Comunale che, riunitosi, ha respinto tale richiesta e concesso l'autorizzazione: lo spettacolo andrà in scena il prossimo 18 Marzo.

"Ciò che viene taciuto, viene ignorato". I dati sulle violenze di genere e sulle violazioni dei diritti umani ormai non possono più essere ignorati, dobbiamo parlarne, pretendere un cambiamento attraverso le proteste, la cultura, l'informazione, ma anche essere noi stessi il cambiamento, attraverso la bellezza, l'amore, l'empatia.

"Una straordinaria resilienza"

E' con la stessa passione e rinnovata energia, che giungiamo alla 6a edizione della manifestazione del 2Lei in Second Life per la "Giornata Internazionale per l'eliminazione della violenza contro le Donne", grazie anche al sostegno di chi ci segue e ci supporta, credendo insieme a noi in questo progetto e nel messaggio comune di solidarietà alle donne vittime di violenze, che i nostri eventi lanciano da questo mondo virtuale, attraverso l'arte, la cultura e l'informazione.

Dove eravamo rimasti? L'edizione precedente aveva come tema conduttore la capacità delle donne di rinascere dal loro dolore, con l'aiuto delle istituzioni ed il conforto delle persone a loro vicine. Le esplosioni di luci, colori e musica avevano salutato una donna ancora ferita nel corpo e nell'anima, ancora smarrita ed insicura, ma volta verso un futuro diverso, pieno di sogni e di speranze, perchè non più sola. Adesso, quella donna, la troviamo ad affrontare la fase successiva alla rinascita: la crescita, la trasformazione. Si è elevata e, anche se non è ancora del tutto stabile sulle gambe, il suo corpo è tornato armonioso e le ferite si sono rimarginate, sta riacquistando la forza, il coraggio, la gioia di ricominciare. Quel tunnel che l'ha tenuta prigioniera dei suoi silenzi è già lontano, mani amiche l'hanno accompagnata nel cammino verso una nuova vita, finalmente libera, autonoma e pienamente consapevole del suo valore e della sua dignità, che mai più nessuno potrà ferire: ora sa bene che l'amore in una relazione di coppia è soprattutto rispetto, fiducia, complicità e non contempla mai il dominio, il controllo, la violenza. Questa donna ha riacquistato una grande, straordinaria resilienza.

In Italia, gli ultimi dati statistici relativi alle violenze di genere, riportano segnali di miglioramento rispetto agli anni precedenti, grazie ad interventi delle istituzioni, al lavoro delle associazioni e dei centri di ascolto per le donne, ad una maggiore informazione, ad un clima sociale più tendente a condannare la violenza, ma soprattutto ad una migliore capacità delle donne di prevenire e combattere il fenomeno.

Questi primi segnali positivi devono essere presi come una spinta ad andare avanti nella lotta contro le violenze di genere e contro tutto ciò che contribuisce ad alimentarle, a sottovalutarle, a darle per scontate. Sono ancora molte, troppe, le donne nel mondo che non hanno la capacità o la possibilità di spezzare le catene e di rinascere. Troppe ancora le donne discriminate, sottomesse, sfruttate, violentate, uccise. Non possiamo ignorarle e lasciarle in un angolo.

Sappiamo che c'è ancora molto da cambiare e che il cammino non sarà facile, ma sappiamo anche che se donne e uomini lo percorrono insieme, se insieme combattono le ingiustizie e le discriminazioni, reclamando le necessarie attenzioni delle istituzioni, se lavorano insieme, attraverso il confronto, il dialogo, la comunicazione, per modificare gli errati schemi di relazione in coppia, tra genitori e figli, nella vita sociale, i nostri bambini riceveranno esempi ed insegnamenti basati su nuovi valori di parità e rispetto delle differenze e riusciranno a costruire quella necessaria ed auspicata trasformazione socio-culturale, che segnerebbe la vittoria di tutta la nostra società.

"An extraordinary resilience"

It is with the same passion and energy that we reach the 6th Edition of the Festival of 2Lei in Second Life for the "International day for the Elimination of violence against Women", with the support of those who follow us and supports us, believing with us in this project and in the common message of solidarity to the women victims of violence, that our events launch from this virtual world through art, culture and information.

Where did we leave off? The theme of the previous edition was the ability of women to be reborn from their pain, with the help of institutions and the support of those close to them. Explosions of light, colour and music had greeted a woman still wounded in body and soul, lost and insecure but facing a different future, full of dreams and hopes, because no longer alone. Now, we find that woman taking the next step, the growth and transformation to rebirth. She stands tall and, although is not yet fully on stable legs, her body is smooth and the wounds are healed, she is regaining strength, courage, joy, to start over. That tunnel that held her silence is already far, helping hands have accompanied her on the journey to a new life, finally free, independent and fully aware of her value and dignity, that no one will ever again hurt: she now knows that love between a couple in a relationship is above all respect, trust, complicity and does not ever include domain, control, violence. This woman has regained a strong, extraordinary resilience.

In Italy, the latest statistical data relating to gender-based violence, shows signs of improvement compared to previous years, thanks to the interventions of the institutions, the work of organizations and listening centers for women, greater information, such a social climate more conducive to condemn violence, but above all to improved women's ability to prevent and combat the phenomenon.

These first positive signals should be taken as a boost to move forward in the fight against violence and against everything that helps to nurture it, to underestimate it, to take it for granted. There are still many, many women in the world who do not have the ability or the possibility to break the chains and be reborn. Too many women are still discriminated, subdued, exploited, abused, killed. We cannot ignore them and leave them in a corner.

We know that there is still much to be changed and that the journey will not be easy, but we also know that if women and men travel together and combat injustice and discrimination, claiming the necessary attention of institutions, if they work together, through comparison, dialogue, communication, to modify the different patterns in couples, between parents and children , in social life, our children will receive examples and teachings based on new values of equality and respect for differences and be able to build the necessary and desired social cultural transformation, which would mark a victory for our entire society.

Rinascere… insieme!

Ancora una volta insieme, per inaugurare una settimana di riflessioni, idee, stimoli artistici e culturali che convergono verso il tema comune trattato in occasione della "Giornata Internazionale per l'eliminazione della violenza contro le donne".
Molti di voi già sanno che "2Lei in Second Life" è al quinto anno consecutivo di questa iniziativa e che ogni anno abbiamo fortemente voluto un tema conduttore, che facesse da sfondo integratore a tutti gli interventi degli artisti e dei performers: quest'anno il tema è quello della "Rinascita". Perché non basta solo denunciare: bisogna osare sperare, sognare, agire, perché il sogno diventi realtà e trampolino di lancio per sogni nuovi. Sogni in cui uomini e donne cooperano per costruire insieme una società più giusta, più sana, in cui la violenza non rappresenti lo strumento prioritario su cui convogliare rabbie, frustrazioni, paure, aggressività.

Educare figli, maschi e femmine, seguendo i principi dell'empatia, del rispetto, del considerare naturale vivere affiancati per affrontare "insieme" le battaglie del vivere: e non stiamo parlando di "coppia", ché quello lo si da fin troppo per scontato. Stiamo parlando di vivere insieme nel sociale, nel mondo, con infinito rispetto, con dignità.
Dignità che troppo spesso viene calpestata.
Dignità che fortunatamente da altre parti del mondo riemerge con grande forza, con la potenza di una sequoia che si espande verso il cielo: pensiamo a Wangari Maathai, prima donna centrafricana a studiare all'università e fondatrice dell'associazione "Green Belt" che ha piantato milioni di alberi in Africa. Pensiamo a Malala Yousafzai, pakistana, giovanissima vincitrice del premio Nobel per la Pace del 2014, che si batte per il diritto all'istruzione femminile nel suo paese. A Waris Dirie, somala, e testimonial contro l'infibulazione.
E pensiamo anche a chi crede negli stessi valori, seppur dalla parte dell'altro sesso, e che si impegna fianco a fianco: è al cuore di quegli uomini che ci stiamo rivolgendo.
È al cuore di tutte le donne che stiamo augurando di battere forte, come un tamburo di vita, per non dimenticare nessuna, per non lasciare indietro nessuna.
La “Rinascita” segna il passo delle opere degli artisti che stanno esponendo in questi spazi, e dei performers che si avvicenderanno sui palchi: il programma è ricco ed articolato, ed offre molti spunti.
Noi vogliamo parlarvi adesso della "rinascita" verso un mondo in cui si possa vivere, respirare, sognare, senza il timore del doversi difendere: rinasceremo insieme di fronte ad ogni quadro, opera, foto, rappresentazione teatrale o musicale che mostrerà un frammento di questo caleidoscopio di immagini, desideri, sogni, passioni che ogni progetto di rinascita comporta… E comporta innanzitutto la denuncia di quel che fa male, di quel che brucia, tarpa le ali, stronca vite.
E poi il sogno, il progetto, la forza per crederci e per realizzarlo.
Da sole, insieme, insieme tra donne, insieme Uomini e Donne.
“INSIEME”: parola chiave di una vera rinascita.
E per primi ne daremo testimonianza noi: uomini e donne che, insieme, credono in questo progetto e lo hanno messo in opera.
Grazie per esserci, grazie per condividere questo percorso insieme a noi.

Rebirth... together!

Once again together to inaugurate a week of reflections, ideas, artistic and cultural stimuli that come together over the common theme discussed at the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women." Many of you already know that this is the fifth consecutive year for "2Lei in Second Life" and its initiative, and every year we really wanted a theme, that would be a supplement to all the background work of artists and performers: this year’s theme is "Rebirth". We cannot just denounce: we must dare to hope, to dream, to act, to make the dream come true and springboard for new dreams. Dreams in which men and women cooperate together to build a more just, more healthy society, in which violence does not represent the instrument upon which to convey anger, frustration, fear, and aggression.
We need to educate children, male and female, to follow the principles of empathy, respect, and to consider the nature of living side by side to face the battles of life. We're not talking about living as couples. This topic has already been covered. We're talking about living together in society, in a world, with infinite respect, with dignity. Dignity that is too often trampled. Fortunately, dignity from other parts of the world emerges with great force. This dignity is as strong as the power of a redwood tree that expands to the sky. We think of Wangari Maathai, the first woman from Central Africa to study at a University and the founder of the "Green Belt”, an association that planted millions of trees in Africa. We think of Malala Yousafzai, a young Pakistani woman, who recently won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. She is currently fighting for the right to educate women in her village. We are also thinking of Waris Dirie, a woman from Somalia, who gives testimonials against female circumcision. We also think of those people who share our values, even if they are of the opposite sex. Those men who stand with us, and those men whose hearts we are trying to address.
We wish every woman’s heart beat be as strong as the drum of life. No woman will be forgotten or left behind. The "Rebirth" marks the passage of the works of artists who are exhibiting in these spaces, and the performers who will take turns on stage. The program is rich and detailed, and offers many insights. Now we want to talk about "rebirth". A rebirth towards a world where people can live, breathe, and dream without the fear of having to defend themselves. We are reborn together in front of each painting, opera, photograph, theater or musical show that a fragment of this kaleidoscope of images, desires, dreams, passions, and every project of rebirth involves. Primarily this involves the denunciation of what is evil, of what is burning, what clip wings, and cuts short lives. Then, after the denunciation, comes the dream: the work, the strength to believe it, and to make it happen together. "TOGETHER" is the keyword of a true renaissance. And we will be the first to give testimony. Men and women who, together, believe in this project and have put in place. Thank you for being there, thank you for sharing this journey with us.

Mai più violenza sulle donne: 2Lei dona ad Amnesty

Il 23 novembre 2013, in occasione degli eventi promossi da 2Lei in Second Life per la Giornata Internazionale per l'eliminazione della violenza contro le donne, tre grandi creatori di moda hanno dato vita alla stupenda serata di fashion e arte "SecondLife Fashion World STAND with 2Lei", che comprendeva anche un'asta di beneficenza. La partecipazione è andata oltre le nostre aspettative, complici gli stupendi outfit e le artistiche scenografie che Violator ("ExclusiveArt Auction"), Orage Creations ("Don't let him destroy you") e Salimar ("One of a Kind" Fashion Auction) hanno saputo creare con alta professionalità e fantasia, ma soprattutto con il loro grande cuore.

Durante questi eventi sono stati raccolti ben 539.150 Lindens (= Euro 1.456), che abbiamo scelto di donare ad Amnesty Italia, per il loro immenso lavoro a favore dei diritti umani e come particolare riconoscimento alla Campagna contro la violenza sulle donne "Mai più violenza sulle donne"

Dopo una lunga procedura, la donazione è stata ufficialmente portata a termine il giorno 12 agosto 2014.

Abbiamo il piacere e la gioia di condividere con tutti voi questa notizia per ringraziare, ancora una volta, chi ha seguito, partecipato, contribuito e supportato il nostro progetto 2Lei in Second Life e continuerà a farlo. Grazie!

November 23, 2013, on the occasion of the events promoted by 2Lei in Second Life for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, three major fashion designers have created the wonderful evening of fashion and art "SecondLife Fashion World STAND with 2Lei", which also included a charity auction. The participation has gone beyond our expectations, together the wonderful outfits and artistic sets which Violator ("ExclusiveArt Auction"), Orage Creations ("Don't let him destroy you") and Salimar ("One of a Kind" Fashion Auction ) were created with high professionalism and imagination, but especially with their big heart.

During these events 539.150 Lindens (= € 1.456) were raised. We chose to donate to Amnesty Italy, for their immense work in favor of human rights and as a special recognition to the campaign against violence against women "Stop Violence Against Women".

After a long procedure, the donation was officially completed on August 12, 2014.

We have the pleasure and the joy of sharing this news with all of you to thank, once again, those who have followed, participated, contributed and supported our project 2Lei in Second Life and will continue to do so. Thanks!

Anche quest'anno, il comitato "2Lei in Second Life" partecipa alle celebrazioni del compleanno di questo magnifico metaverso.

Oltre alle foto di Paola Mills, l'installazione presenta una scultura mesh eseguita da Moore Tone con il contributo creativo di tutto il gruppo, motivo per cui è stata caricata usando l'avatar ufficiale del comitato, ossia "2Lei Resident".

La figura centrale, simbolo dell'uniforme contemporaneità del mondo, si evolve in un futuro dominato dalle differenze, le quali co-esistono e lavorano insieme generando sentimenti positivi.

Rispetto, fiducia e uguaglianza - il nostro impero della mente - sono gli argomenti portanti dell'installazione, ma noi non stiamo seduti ad aspettare questi regali da qualcuno, noi cerchiamo di ottenerli tramite l'educazione e la formazione continua.

L'intento delle iniziative del comitato 2Lei è sempre di costruire, giorno dopo giorno, il nostro mondo ideale pieno di individui diversi ma con gli stessi diritti e doveri, senza distinzioni o prevaricazioni, e soprattutto un mondo pieno di buoni sentimenti.

La ricerca di questi buoni sentimenti, ha portato frutti, infatti anche artisti RL hanno donato 2 canzoni al comitato.

Il musicista Fabio Tettoni ha donato la canzone "Libera" di cui è autore di testo e musica, con gli arrangiamenti di Gianni Raschiatore.

"Revise the next"

This year too, the "2Lei in Second Life" commitee takes part in birthday celebration of this amazing metaverse.

In the installations, there are 3 photos by Paola Mills, and a mesh sculpture composed by Moore Tone, with creative contributions of all members; this is why the mesh was load by 2Lei Resident, the official avatar of the commitee.

The central figure, symbol of uniformity contemporary, evolves into a future dominated by the differences that co-exist and work together, generating positive feelings.

Respect, trust and equality - our empire of the mind - are the focus of the installation, but rather than expect them, we would try to get them, educating and training the future.

The intent of the 2Lei initiatives was always to create, day after day, a new brick to build a world fit for individual without distinction, nor prevarication, but based on positive feelings.

The research of these good feelings gave many results: three musicians of the real world donated 2 songs to the committee.

Musician Fabio Tettoni treated the song "Libera" of which he is the author of lyrics and music, with arrangements by Gianni Raschiatore.

2LEI intervista l'autore di “Libera”, canzone donata al Comitato in occasione della Giornata Internazionale per l'eliminazione della violenza contro le donne.

Il progetto "2Lei around all the Worlds" partì a Gennaio 2013 con lo scopo di unire nel 2Lei le voci del metaverso a quelle del mondo reale, per dire no alla violenza sulle donne.

Si chiedeva di scattare una foto della vita "reale", che contenesse il logo 2Lei.

E' in questa occasione che abbiamo conosciuto Fabio Tettoni e, in seguito, abbiamo potuto apprezzare la sua musica e la sua sensibilità verso il problema della violenza di genere.

Viola Tatham, del comitato 2Lei, ci rivela “Avevo il desiderio di conoscere meglio una persona che mi ispirava stima e ammirazione e di ringraziarlo personalmente, a nome di tutto il comitato; finalmente, pochi giorni fa, l'ho incontrato in un club romano che propone musica d'autore e, complice l'atmosfera familiare del luogo, dopo la sua esibizione abbiamo parlato un po'. La mia sensazione positiva si è subito rafforzata e non solo per le sue parole, ma soprattutto guardando i suoi occhi ed il suo sorriso”.

Viola: Raccontaci qualcosa di te, così ti conosciamo meglio.

Fabio: Sono un giovane ultraquarantenne, romano, vita normalissima, una moglie, una figlia, un cane (ovviamente femmina).

V: Come è nata la tua passione per la musica?

F: A quindici anni la prima chitarra, ho capito subito che non sarei stato mai un virtuoso ma in compenso ho iniziato a scrivere canzoncine. Il primo gruppo (anzi complesso) a sedici anni come batterista poi pian piano mi sono spostato alla voce ed eccomi qui.

V: So che hai fatto anche teatro e che sei stato protagonista di una commedia musicale...

F: Ho esordito prima come attore che non come musicista. “Un camice e tre note, non ho scritto al Costanzo show” è stato il fiore all’occhiello di quel percorso. Quasi due ore in scena recitando e cantando. Bello!

V: Ascoltare live la tua canzone "Regina di Roma" mi ha trasmesso emozioni, sono parole di grande rispetto e affetto verso Anna Magnani, un'attrice che non appartiene ai miti cinematografici della tua generazione.

F: Chi è più giovane può non conoscere la Magnani, ma se sei romano basta ascoltarla due minuti e capire che fa parte di te.

V: Perché lei? Cosa rappresenta per te ?

F: Lessi una sua biografia a cura di Giancarlo Governi, “Nannarella” e appena finito scrissi il testo su una melodia che avevo da un po’ in testa. Per me Nannarella rappresenta l’essenza del romano, disincantato, feroce a parole quando serve ma fondamentalmente buono, indomabile, coinvolgente e generoso.

V: L'anno scorso hai donato la bellissima canzone "LIBERA" al nostro "Comitato 2Lei in Second Life", che ha portato l'informazione e la lotta contro la violenza sulle donne in un mondo virtuale. Conoscevi già Second Life? Come sei venuto a conoscenza del nostro progetto?

F: Ho conosciuto il vostro lavoro tramite Lucia Baldini, sorella del mio amico Marco.

V: Com'è nata "Libera"? E' stata ispirata da un fatto che ti ha particolarmente colpito?

F: Pochi anni fa una ragazza di origine pakistana cresciuta nel nostro paese, venne uccisa dal padre perché voleva vivere la sua vita di ragazza “normale”. Ho solo provato a immaginare i pensieri di questa giovane donna.

V: La tua adesione al nostro progetto è stata per noi motivo di orgoglio, ma oltre ad essere lusingate dal gesto importante di "donarci" una tua canzone, siamo talmente rimaste coinvolte ed ispirate dalle parole del testo che, all'unanimità, abbiamo deciso di dedicare la 4à edizione del 2lei 2013 al tema della libertà.

F: Che dire? Onorato….

V: Cos'è per te la libertà?

F: Il poter dire e soprattutto fare quello che credo sia meglio per me e per le persone che amo.

V: Scrivere un testo come "Libera", denota una grande sensibilità verso il problema della violenza sulle donne, della discriminazione di genere e di quello che la Comencini ha chiamato "Malamore". Questo è l'atteggiamento che noi chiediamo ai nostri uomini, affrontare e combattere insieme per cambiare la cultura italiana, che è ancora profondamente radicata nel pensiero maschilista, anche nelle donne.

F: Più che di sensibilità parlerei di una ovvia repulsione verso tutti gli atti violenti. Colui che crede di essere un “vero maschio” mette radici solo dove trova donne compiacenti e uomini senza carattere per questo, come dici tu, bisogna lavorare sulla società. Una donna che non si sente sola ha più forza nel reagire e un uomo deve sentirsi tale anche se non ha comportamenti da macho. Di sicuro ho semplificato eccessivamente ma viviamo in un mondo dove la superficialità dell’apparire spesso vince sulla profondità dell’essere.

V: Quale pensi sia la strada giusta e da cosa partiresti?

F: Per affrontare questo, come gran parte dei problemi sociali , la strada parte o comunque attraversa sempre un periodo preciso: quello della gioventù. Ragazzi,anzi meglio ancora bambini e bambine, se ascoltati ed educati saranno degli adulti migliori e la violenza non farà parte del loro modo di vivere. Ovviamente esiste l’immediato, quindi centri di ascolto, supporto psicologico, leggi adeguate e punizioni esemplari.

V: Progetti futuri?

F: A giorni esce il video di “Regina di Roma” e continuo con la promozione del CD uscito lo scorso dicembre.

V: Ti ringrazio del tempo che hai voluto dedicarmi e ti ringrazio ancora, a nome di tutto il Comitato 2Lei, per la tua scelta di essere al nostro fianco. Chissà, magari un giorno deciderai di venirci a trovare in SL e farci ascoltare qualche tua canzone…

F: Organizzate pure. Io ci sarò.

Siamo davvero lieti di comunicarvi che 2Lei parteciperà per il 2° anno consecutivo all’iniziativa che One Billion Rising, organizzazione mondiale con sedi operative in molti paesi, propone, nella giornata di S.Valentino e in occasione del 16° anniversario del V-Day… una serie di eventi che facciano sentire al mondo una voce di solidarietà ma anche di protesta, denuncia e condanna, forte, partecipata e condivisa, che dica: BASTA! Basta con le violenze alle donne, basta con la negazione della dignità e dei diritti minimi di civiltà, basta alle ingiustizie, basta a qualunque forma di violenza fisica e psicologica alle donne.

2Lei, gruppo italiano di Second Life, che opera dal 2010 in SL per tentare di coinvolgere sempre più persone sui temi riguardanti la violenza sulle donne nel mondo, attraverso varie iniziative ed eventi di sensibilizzazione della comunità virtuale, ha presentato il proprio progetto che è stato accolto e inserito ufficialmente nei programmi mondiali di questa manifestazione.

Vi inviamo a venire a visitare la nostra installazione che, snodandosi lungo un percorso, vi permetterà di:

- ammirare l’opera collettiva* “IL VALORE AGGIUNTO”, nata da un’idea di Fiona Saiman, alla creazione della quale hanno contribuito diversi amici di 2Lei, artisti e non, per rappresentare la metafora della rinascita di una Donna, la ricostruzione della dignità, della serenità distrutta, della forza per andare avanti, di un sorriso, della speranza di riuscire a dimenticare e di riprendere a vivere;

- ammirare l’installazione "IN FLIGHT OVER THE VIOLENCE" di Paola Mills, che darà la possibilità ai visitatori di interagire e di sentirsi parte integrante del progetto, utilizzando le poseballs e gli outfits messi a disposizione gratuitamente.- vedere quello che è stato fatto in questi anni attraverso varie fotografie e video;

- ballare con noi sulle note della canzone ufficiale dell’OBR “BREAK THE CHAIN” (Spezza la catena) e della canzone “PER LE DONNE” di Davide Mirrione (in arte Gangsta Dà);

- avere a disposizione un punto informativo per donne in difficoltà.

Il mondo virtuale di Second Life per chi non lo frequenta, risulta a volte essere una stranezza.

Non se ne capiscono le possibili dinamiche al suo interno, nè i possibili coinvolgimenti sentimentali benchè tutti, indistintamente, riferendomi anche ad esempio a chi solo utilizza un social network come facebook, è anche lui in qualche modo immerso in una virtualità.

Ma chi è in Second Life e ne conosce i meccanismi sa bene che le dinamiche al suo interno possono essere molto coinvolgenti, sia sul piano professionale che sul piano personale. con i suoi numerosi lati positivi ma anche, ahimè, molti negativi.

Primo fra tutti, la sua lucidità dal momento che proprio al gioco, molte volte si fa appello per "scappare" da un coinvolgimento sentimentale, minimizzandolo e banalizzandolo.

Infatti, non poche volte ci è capitato di imbatterci, nel corso degli anni trascorsi in SL. in storie di donne che hanno, sì, sofferto per la rottura repentina di un rapporto ma soprattutto perché si sono sentite dire che tutto era solo un gioco perché in fondo si era su SL.

Quindi, l'esperienza avatariana, quella vera, quale natura ha?

Quale forza può avere se ci si maschera dietro un gioco?

Come si rafforza tale esperienza dopo una delusione sentimentale?

Quali le risorse e quali i meccanismi di reazione?

Quale amore si cerca in un ambiente virtuale?

In collaborazione con 2Lei vogliamo inaugurare l'avvio di questo progetto che ha l'intento di raccogliere quante più testimonianze (anonime) possibili in tema di "maltrattamenti sentimentali" che si vivono all'interno di Second Life, soprattutto a carico delle donne, allo scopo di indurre ad una riflessione e ad una sensibilizzazione sul tema.

"Le donne di Second Life" è un progetto dell'IRPPS del CNR nell'ambito della ricerca sulle dinamiche sociali e l'apprendimento in ambienti virtuali.

La responsabile del progetto è Baby Pooley.

Rinascita che spesso necessita dell'aiuto morale e fisico da parte delle persone vicine e della società tutta.

Dopo un trauma che cambia la vita, la rinascita é ugualmente un disagio: per questo nessuna donna dovrebbe isolarsi.

Non restate sole! Non lasciatele sole!

Il valore aggiunto è la mano che ti sorregge, la forza per liberarti dalla vergogna e dai sensi di colpa; è un abbraccio nella notte tormentata da terribili ricordi.

E' il sole che sorge ogni mattina davanti agli occhi, costringendoti a dire "la vita è sempre bella", nonostante tutto.

E' la gente che non ti guarderà con sguardi accusatori; è l'assenza dei pregiudizi verso le vittime; è la libertà di continuare a vivere a testa alta, ribellandosi, reagendo e gridando, perchè

"nessuno ha il diritto di violare nessuno".

After a trauma that changes your life, rebirth is equally a hardship : therefore no woman should isolate herself.

Do not be alone! Do not leave them alone!

The added value is the hand that sustains you, the strength to free yourself from shame and guilt ; It is an embrace in the night haunted by terrible memories.

It’s the sun that rises every morning before our eyes, forcing you to say "Life is always beautiful" (despite everything). It’s the person that will not look at you with accusing glances ; It is the absence of prejudice to the victims; It is the freedom to continue living with our heads held high, rebelling, reacting and shouting

Performance multimediale per voce e musica.

Nel teatro costruito da Sniper Siemens abbiamo invitato due attori professionisti ed un gruppo musicale a celebrare in second life la giornata contro la violenza sulle donne.

La perfomance è il risultato di un progetto nato intorno alla proposta di Sniper che, con il suo teatro, ha voluto creare uno spazio che accolga le arti dello spettacolo.

Per 2lei abbiamo pensato ad un percorso tra letture e musica realizzato parte in diretta e parte in video, dedicato alla forza creativa delle donne.

Solo Donna presents "Forever Woman " - Multimedia performance for voice and music.

In the theater built by Siemens Sniper we invited two professional actors and a band to celebrate, in sl, the day about the violence against women.
The performance is the result of a project begun around Sniper 's proposed that, with her theater, she wanted to create a space that embraces the arts.
For 2lei we devised a route between readings and music made part live and part video is dedicated to the creative power of women.

E’ un viaggio che inizia nell’orrore di questa “atavica” violenza, raccontando esperienze di donne che per amore, per ignoranza e per paura, hanno subito e subiscono, restando nel silenzio che le ha perdute. Ma è anche un viaggio di speranza, la speranza che ti porta l’informazione e la conoscenza e che rende la donna libera di ribellarsi a qualsiasi forma di violenza. Infine è anche un viaggio di giustizia per spingere ad essere consapevoli e coraggiose nel denunciare colui, che con la sua violenta follia, ruba loro la vita. La meta si chiama “Coscienza di Libertà”. Abbiamo pensato di realizzare un cammino raccontando fatti di cronaca accompagnati da slide di foto inerenti al racconto ed intervallati da brani musicali che verranno interpretati da una ballerina. Infine un ultimo racconto improntato alla speranza di raggiungere al più presto questa agognata libertà, appunto “Coscienza di Libertà”. Nella land ci sarà inoltre una mostra fotografica per tutto il periodo dell’evento.

It is a journey that begins in the horror of this "primitive" violence, telling experiences of women that, out of love, out of ignorance and fear, have suffered and are suffering, remaining in the silence that made them lost. But it is also a journey of hope, hope that brings you information and knowledge and that makes the woman free to rebel to any form of violence. Finally, it is also a journey of Justice, to push to be aware and brave in denouncing him, which with its violent madness, steals their lives. The goal is called "Consciousness of Freedom". We decided to make a journey by telling news stories accompanied by slides of photos about the story, interspersed with songs that will be played by a dancer. Finally, one last story marked by the hope of reaching as soon as this awaited freedom, exactly the "Consciousness of Freedom". In addition there will be, in our land, a photo exhibition for the whole period of the event.
