In general, credit cards or cash advances are expensive options - financial prudence requires that you avoid taking these on. However, there may be times when you don’t have a choice; or need some reasonable amounts urgently to cover unexpected expenses, until you can refinance / pay it off.

Using a cash advance responsibly is the key to taking advantage of what it has to offer. A cash advance offers many perks that traditional loans do not.

There are several ways you can use a cash advance responsibly. You might find yourself in a financial crisis where you need “fast money” without long-term repayment schedules. For example, you may need immediate vehicle repairs, pocket cash to make it through until your next payday, or any other short-term financial situation you might find yourself in. A cash advance gives the borrower the opportunity of retrieving the money they need without all of the hassles of going to a local bank. It is never a good idea to borrow more money than you need and a cash advance can help you stay within that boundary because a typical loan will be $100-$600.

A cash advance will be due on the borrower’s next payday so you will not have any long-term regrets from borrowing from a traditional financial institution. Most financial institutions will offer more money to the borrower than is actually needed and they will also drag the repayment schedule out longer than necessary. These types of loans can be attractive but a responsible borrower will understand the importance of paying off any type of loan immediately to save them from regrets in the future.

Using a cash advance responsibly can make the whole borrowing experience positive. Make sure, though, that your borrowing is for a necessity / exigency - when you can retrieve the money you need fast and pay it back fast then you will feel better about yourself financially.

This is hilarious; I don’t know whether it was put up as an April Fool’s gag, or just a gag in passing, but do check out the “captcha” on searchguild.

http://www.searchguild.com/profile.php?mode=register&agreed=true

Go down to the bit where it says “To prove you’re human place the index finger of your dominant hand in the red box. Hold it there whilst clicking Submit.” Then read the “what’s this”.

Can you imagine a dumb spammer actually sticking his finger out there?

Plus, the interesting part; usually, the dominant hand is also used for the mouse - so how do you stick your finger plus click at the same time?? If anyone can think of a good technique to do both at the same time, speak up!!!!

I liked the tongue in cheek

Photo attachments are printed on high-quality, glossy photo paper, and secured to your Gmail Paper with a paper clip. MP3 and WAV files will not be printed. We recommend maintaining copies of your non-paper Gmail in these cases.

Gmail Paper is made out of 96% post-consumer organic soybean sputum, and thus, actually helps the environment.

The other was in lighter vein

A budget tells us what we can’t afford, but it doesn’t keep us from buying it.

Sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it? Given the amount of flak over credit card debt and charges, it’s almost heretical to suggest that anyone can save using credit cards. The best strategy is to avoid these as much as you can.

Yet, these are a necessary evil; whether for day to day purchases, or for travel, you just can’t get away from these. And for emergencies, it’s hard to find personal credit that’s so easily available. And if you do have a sizeable outstanding due to student expenses or other unforeseen situations, you need to manage this.

Enter the Savings Agent from CreditCardClients. It’s a simple AJAX driven questionnaire that analyzes your current situation (balance, APR and fees); and suggests if you have a better alternative available.

While it does appear to be an affilate card site, the nifty suggestion tool makes it stand out from other credit card sites I’ve seen. Check it out, if it makes sense for you.
