Arthur’s Day 2010

After a triumphant 2009 show in Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach that attracted a crowd of over 15,000 people, Arthur’s Day is back for the 2010 edition at the same location as last year on this coming 24th SEPT! The bar has been set and Arthur’s Day 2010 is set to top it by bringing world renowned producer/rapper/actor/musician – Timbaland to shock the crowds. The stellar line-up of acts set to appear alongside Timbaland including Jamaican-American baby-faced singer Sean Kingston, Thai hip-hop band Thaitanium, local rockers Pop Shuvit, current chart topper Mizz Nina and turntablist extraordinaire DJ Fuzz!

Last year, the first Arthur’s Day bash was thrown to commemorate the 250th year that Guinness has been served, and Malaysia was one of five venues that were given the honour of hosting celebrations marking this monumental occasion. For 2010, celebrations will kick off in Ireland, at the Guinness Brewery at St. James Gate itself, on 23th SEPT.

Reign Of Assassins

John Woo is returning with another film of his genre this month – Reign of Assassins by co-producing and co-directing this fast-paced action thriller set in the Ming Dynasty. This is John Woo’s first new project since his US$80-million epic “Red Cliff”. Former Bond girl Michelle Yeoh leads the cast of this upcoming Chinese ancient martial arts epic, together with Korean actor Jung Woo Sung, China actor Wang Xue Qi, Hong Kong actors Shawn Yue and Kelly Lin, and Taiwan stars Barbie Hsu and Chang Chen. The movie is set to be released on 28th SEPT 2010.

The world premiere of Reign of Assassins was already took place on the just passed Friday, 3rd SEPT during the 67th Venice International Film Festival (Out of Competition), 9:30PM at Sala Grande (Grand Hall, Palazzo del Cinema), following the award ceremony of the Golden Lion For Lifetime Achievement to John Woo.

Synopsis: In ancient China, in a time of non-stop inter-clan warfare, Drizzle is the top assassin of a gang known as The Dark Stone. After a career of robbing and killing, she decides she wants to start a new life. As a gesture of atonement, she returns the remains of a mystical Buddhist monk to his tomb. It is rumored that the remains contain the secret to obtaining absolute power and whoever possesses them can control the martial arts world. In order to escape from The Dark Stone and rid her life of violence and bloodshed, Drizzle decides to undergo a drastic procedure to alter her appearance, to change her name to Zeng Jing, and to move to the Capital. Keeping a low-profile as a shopkeeper, she falls in love with and marries a messenger named Jiang Ah-Sheng. However, their peaceful life is soon disrupted when Zeng’s identity as Drizzle is unveiled in a dramatic fight and confrontation with her old gang, The Dark Stone. Amidst all the chaos and fighting, Jiang, her husband, reveals his true identity to her – he is the son of a government official that she murdered when she was still a member of The Dark Stone. Once both their identities are exposed, a lethal triangle in which allegiances are made and broken emerges between Drizzle, Jiang, and The Dark Stone, who will stop at nothing in their efforts to obtain the monk’s remains and rule the martial arts world.

2010 F1 Singapore GP Concert

The F1 Singapore Grand Prix Concert is back with its 2010 edition! There’ll be high octane cars on the racetrack, together with A-list performers and entertainers such as Mariah Carey, Missy Elliot, Daughtry, Adam Lambert, Sean Kingston and more set to perform. That’s definitely going to get engines revving everywhere. The concert is scheduled to be taken place from 24th-26th SEPT 2010 at Marina Bay Street Circuit, Singapore.

The show will be putting up across several venues within the Marina Bay Street Circuit. On the main Padang Stage, Missy Elliot (24th SEPT, 8:30PM), Daughtry (25th SEPT, 6PM), Adam Lambert (25th SEPT, 11:20PM) and Mariah Carey (26th SEPT, 10:30PM) will be stepping it up. Daughtry and Lambert will perform yet again on different dates at Zone 1 – Village Stage, along with other stars like Sean Kingston and Grammy winner Rafael Saddiq. 62nd Emmy Awards

The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were held Sunday night, 29th AUG at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. A mix of new comedies and veteran dramas dominated this year’s event, while HBO monopolized the statuettes for movies and miniseries. ABC’s Modern Family led all series programs with three Emmy wins, including outstanding comedy. Fox’s Glee, which led all series with 19 nominations, won Emmys for supporting actress Jane Lynch and director Ryan Murphy. Besides, The Pacific, the World War II miniseries produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, was awarded Outstanding Miniseries or Movie.

An estimated 13.50 million viewers tuned into the Emmy cast, according to the Nielsen Company. A year ago, the show averaged 13.47 million when it aired in SEPT. By this, Sunday’s awards telecast, hosted by NBC “Late Night” star Jimmy Fallon, was the most-watched Emmys since 2006, according to the network’s research.

On 27th NOV 2010, 3,000 fans, a bigger audience than ever before, will be able to watch 16 of the world’s best B-Boys to compete each other and will be screaming at the top of their lungs when the the winner is crowned “The One”. The 16 B-Boys to participate in the event are selected each year by an international jury of experts who determine the dancers most worthy for this legendary competition. 2010 UEFA Super Cup

There will be a new name engraved on the UEFA Super Cup this year. The 2010 UEFA Super Cup, which usually served as the curtain raiser for a brand new season of European football clubs’ competition, is going to be competed tonight at Stade Louis II, Monaco between Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan after achieving landmark victories in MAY.

Under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, who has since left for Real Madrid and been replaced by Spaniard Rafael Benitez, Inter last season became the first Italian team to win the treble of UEFA Champions League, Italian Serie A and Coppa Italia titles. Now the Nerazzurri will be looking to add the UEFA Super Cup to their list of accolades toight.

Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, who have never won the UEFA Super Cup either, earned their spot in tonight’s showpiece by beating Fulham in the UEFA Europa League final in MAY to end a 14-year wait for silverware.

The Asian Handicap odd for this match is Inter Milan let 0.5 goal. Personally my preference goes to the Italian side. So my money will be on the Nerazzurries for this game!
