This year’s ’The Cabinetmakers`Autumn Exhibition’ will take place from 13 November 2009 - 31 Januar 2010 at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptothek in Copenhagen. The exhibition, which started in 1984, is an association of furniture manufactures and designers. The purpose is to develop and stage an annual exhibition of new and experimental furniture types with strong practical and artistic qualities and excellent craftsmanship.

Last year the Danish designer Thomas Bentzen presented this figurative and playful piece of furniture, which refers in its details to the traditional Scandinavian wood-working.

“A room divider, a cosy nook, a shot of homeliness with a sloping ceiling that can be tiled with books or magazines. The book ends offer storage space for magazines, a graphic deviation in the room, which can be used to create order or chaos. Library is made in classic ash to give the storage a warm glow. Library is furniture for receptions, shops, offices, libraries or you home.”

The aim of the stump series by Ubico Studio was to develop objects which could be produced
at a cost efficient price which expressed the recycled nature of its materials in an aesthetic
that is visually interesting.

The stump series consists of the oli stool and dodo side table.Both are fully recycled made from small scraps of wood which has been cut into cubes and glued into a matrix to create the tabletop.

Alteration: an exhibition of new works on paper by Greg Lauren

After taking a closer look, you realize the garments are made of fine paper manipulated to resemble different fabrics. There is a meticulous care for the details because the creases, wrinkles and folds ironically give the impression that these clothes have been worn down by time.

Lauren hand-sews each piece as an attempt to explore not only the process of an artisan, but the garment as a canvas for identity, aspirations and symbolism. The exhibition is composed of iconic men’s wear pieces such as the black tuxedo, white polo, trench coat, plaid shirt and leather motorcycle jacket.

Lauren does not criticize, but questions how these clothes help shape the making of one’s own image. Having Ralph Lauren as an uncle, the artist states he was taught “to dress like Cary Grant and JFK, but actually felt more like Charlie Chaplin or Oliver Twist.” Greg Lauren’s new work is a personal investigation of authenticity, style icons and male archetypes.

APPLEBUM have just released their latest zip up jacket featuring their popular Kickz Box All Star pattern better known as the abbreviation K.B.A.S. As we have seen in the past drops, the jacket features the pattern all over the outer of the jacket which is made by 100% polyester fabric that is durable and anti static.

Featuring black inner lining that contains some light cotton material for warmth and with two outer pockets as well as one pocket on the inside. Otherwise simple exterior is branded subtley with nubuck like chest patch and flag tag on the left waist.

Portrayed at the age of six by Andy Warhol, the 30-year-old Swedish in origin is now posing naked. Because no matter what’s on the outside, it’s the inside that really matters. ABSOLUTely.

Through the bold and innovative project “In An ABSOLUT World, There Are No Labels” naked ABSOLUT vodka bottle challenges labels and prejudice about sexual identities. A manifestation of a world with no labels is a limited edition naked ABSOLUT bottle, with no label and no logo, launched globally in October 2009.

In 1979 Swedish designers Gunnar Broman and Hans Brindfors based the ABSOLUT bottle on a 19th century pharmacy bottle they found in an antique shop in old town Stockholm. Thirty years later the naked ABSOLUT bottle keeps the original 1979 design, but without the ABSOLUT logo and label. A discrete and easily removed sticker with the campaign manifesto encourages consumers to discard their labels and to visit www.absolut.com/nolabel –a blog discussing labels and prejudice associated with the LGBT community.

Sweden-based brand Hennes and Mauritz AB, or commonly known as simply H&M, has included Kanye West in their latest Style Guide focused on outfits that predominantly include the color black. In the photo, Kanye’s outfit features, as Jay-Z best put it, all black everything. Kanye wears a black blazer with rolled-up sleeves on a plain black t-shirt, with black slacks and black sunglasses.

A concept by Moscow-based creative firm Firma, the Chupa Chups 18+ Lollipop is a new interpretation of the popular lollipop for adult boys and girls.

With the new funky, audacious and intimate design, the three newly design 18+ lollipops are given name such as BDSM, Fetish and Toys- truly represent the shape of each corresponding lollipop.

Now the well-known lollipops recall whips, collars and other not childish entertainments. Will be a hit if go into production. And probably like beer, only adult can buy it.

After Pendleton, Opening Ceremony turned to Timberland to revamp more classics with the famous OC touch. The label reworked 6″ Timberland boots into easy slip-ons with broad elastic laces, an interesting structural and technical change for the well-loved classic Timberland boots.

Also, the team decided to turn some summer boat shoes into Fall appropriate boots in great colorways of wheat and olive, but treated with some deliberate worn-in distressed look.

While the limited edition shoes will be hitting stores on Monday, Opening Ceremony decided to host a two-day presale for all the overwhelmingly enthusiastic response they received for the collaboration.
