Using my personal recipe you can make this entree spending as little as $15 dollars. The best thing about this recipe is that it is meant to feed 6 people as an entree. There are many side dishes that go with Chicken cordon bleu, such as green beans and hot rolls. Any vegetable as a side dish will certainly top off this wonderful entree. Doing this will make dinner easy to design and your family will keep coming back for more.

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients:
6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 pkg of sliced Swiss cheese (if you prefer spice I recommend using sliced pepper jack instead)
1 pkg of thick sliced ham of your choice enough for 1 slice of ham per chicken breast
Butter for frying (Baking is an option as well see bottom for cooking instructions)

Kitchen items you will need:
1 container of tooth picks NOTE: Do NOT use colored toothpicks their dye leaks on the chicken!
Skillet
Spatula
Cutting board
Serrated Knife

Once you have all of the kitchen items and the food ingredients you are ready to begin.
Frying method:

1. First warm a skillet with a generous amount of butter on the stove at a medium heat.

2. Take your sliced cheese and unwrap the individual slices until you have one slice for every chicken breast you plan to prepare. Also lay out the same amount of ham and set all of this to the side.

3. Get your toothpicks out and ready. Using the serrated knife slice the chicken long ways in a horizontal motion. When you are cutting the chicken this way the purpose is to create a hot dog bun or pita pocket effect with the chicken breast.

4. Then stuff a slice of cheese and a slice of ham inside the sliced open chicken breast.

5. Secure the open parts of the chicken breast with your toothpicks until the pocket has been sealed.

6. Do this with the rest of the chicken and when you are done the skillet should be ready for the chicken.

7. Fry the chicken on each side until the thickest part of the chicken is no longer pink. Serve and enjoy!

Baking method:

The baking method is the same except you Preheat your oven to about 400 degrees F.
Prepare the chicken the same way and lay evenly in a casserole dish.
Bake until the thickest part of the chicken is no longer pink.

Serve and enjoy!
