Summer on the Boardwalk!

It's definitely not summer here, as we got a rare couple days of snow fall here. That doesn't stop me from thinking ahead to summer, or thinking back to last summer.

Leaving a Legacy Designs released a set of quick pages for her Summer on the Boardwalk kit. They are super cute and make getting some summer pages done up quick before next summer rolls around!

It's the second anniversary at SNP and it's DSD weekend! Can I get a WHOOT?!! They have planned a super fun weekend for you! The customers and designers are some of the best people in digi and we are so very excited to have each of you actively involved in our community! You have no idea how you've touched our lives and how much we enjoy chatting with you and looking at your layouts. There is something wonderful about SNP. It's the friendships we create. It's the way our stories intertwine with those of the people we've never met in real life. It's people from all over the world uniting in this wonderful way that helps us to capture those small moments in time that make up the stories of our lives. Nowhere else can you find such an awesome group of people who work and create so closely to build such an amazing community for all of us to feel at home in. This weekend we are celebrating each and every one of you be{You}tiful people. The challenges and chats are centered around getting to know you better. We hope you'll join us this weekend as we strengthen our friendships and our community. I'm sure there will be a lot of laughter and of course they've created a Be{You}tiful collection of goodies for you that you won't want to miss. Has autumn weather come to you? Here in Oregon we've had nice weather off-and-on and the trees are definitely changing color. We've enjoyed getting outside when it has been nice. We're also having fun at the local pumpkin patches and corn mazes!

Happy Fall Y'All is a great kit for all of those fall activities!

It also works wonderfully for non-fall themed layouts. I love the colors in it!

What's Scrappin' Sunday ~ Aug 25

Last weekend was crazy busy with the kiddo's birthday, so I didn't get a What's Scrappin' Sunday post done! So I'm going to share with you what I got scrapped in the last two weeks!

Four pages in two weeks, that is pretty good for me! I really love how they all turned out too! One was a recipe challenge and one was a speed scrap, so that always makes things interesting!

Pray for Haley Charity Collab

What's Scrappin' Sunday ~ Aug 11

I thought I'd have a lot more time this week to scrap, with the kiddo being gone to church camp and all. But it just didn't work out that way. I spent more of my time working on planning for our upcoming homeschool year!

The only thing I got done was a speed scrap at Speed Scrap at Scraps N' Pieces on Sunday morning. It was a very flexible speed scrap, which I love. It was also perfect for my LEGOLand book.

What's Scrappin' Sunday ~ August 4

I was super busy this last week, so I didn't get as much scrapping done as I would have liked. I was excitedly waiting for the August challenges to be posted on some of my favorite forums and then I didn't have time to get started on them!

I decided toward the end of last month to work diligtently on our LEGOLand book during the month of August. I'll try to fit as many challenges into this book as possible. I'll be using Busy Builders by The Scrappy Kat for the entire book.

The one layout I got done this week is the first page. I completed it for the Challenge of the Week (July - Week 4) over at Stuff to Scrap. The challenge was to use a journal card. I love journal cards but find it difficult to find a place for them on the layout.

Man Oh Man!

Father's Day may be over, but don't wait until next Father's Day to save your memories of it!

Leaving a Legacy Designs released a new kit ~ Man Oh Man! ~ that is perfect for all those fun Dad and Kiddo pictures.

Our Father's Day celebration was tied into a mini-vacation we took to Seattle the weekend before Father's Day. I took the chance to snap a bunch of pictures of my hubby and son.

The Mojo Returns!

It's been months since I've scrapped. It makes me sad, but I just really wasn't feeling it. I started working on a page last week, but it just wasn't coming together well so I shelved it. This afternoon I saw the first instruction in a speed scrap on the My Memories Facebook page. I figured I'd go with it and see what happened.

Well, this happened!

My first completed page this year! I hope this means the return of my mojo!

It's a New Year, What's Happening?

There are things happening around here!

I took all of December off of actually scrapping. I was feeling way overwhelmed and just had no mojo. Instead, I focused on the organization of my scrapping stash! It looks so much better! And I feel so much more at ease with that done. Chaos in my computer (or in my house) makes my mind chaotic.

Now that the chaos is not clouding my thoughts, I am excited to get back into scrapping! I plan on actually trying to do some challenges and complete some layouts this next week. I've got a few others things in the works too.

I took December off of my CT duties, but Leaving a Legacy Designs is gracious enough to allow me to come back at part time for her. I'll do what I can to support this amazing lady, I just found that I couldn't do the CT work effectively and do what I wanted/needed to get done for myself. So watch for some new designs from her these coming months!

I signed up for the Scraps N Pieces Photoshop class. My hubby bought me CS5 last spring when he got an insanely good deal on it. I couldn't run it on my old laptop though! So when the same sweet hubby bought me a new laptop for my birthday in July, I was able to put CS5 on it. I've played around with it some, but I'm totally lost. I'm looking forward to learning how to use it!

Don't worry though! Just because I am going to be learning CS5 doesn't mean I'm going to get rid of GIMP! I do have plans of making tutorials for GIMP. My goal is to get a couple tutorials out each month. Stay tuned for those!

The other new thing going on is I'm a contributing writer for the new site - Digi Scrapping Divas! This is an umbrella site for the Digi Scrapping Tips, Digi Scrapping Freebies & Landscapers groups on Facebook. The site and blog will have all kinds of cool stuff from a variety of scrappers!

I think that's all the big news for now! Watch for the fun stuff coming!

Time for a Road Trip ~ The Big City

Do you have a Big City in your neck of the woods? Around here, the 'Big City' is Portland. Portland is a good size city on the river with a few tall buildings and a pretty skyline. It may not be as big as New York City or even Seattle, but I still love it! We love visiting and exploring the city. The different shops, the interesting people (Keep Portland Weird!) and the cool fountains all make Portland a fun place to be.

This month's Road Trip from Stuff to Scrap is all about The Big City! I absolutely love these colors. I hope I did them justice. As I've said before, I'm not a designer. This is really just the results of my playing & learning. I hope when combined with the rest of the Road Trip it complements the full kit!
