Just a quick update - took a quick trip to Orlando, gald to be home though. Getting the art together for the Alexander East release Supposed 2 Be. Great mixes from DJ Dennis, Mazi and Aarta - you will love it. Also getting the mixes in for Things U Do. After that a lounge EP from Intensity of Sound will close out the year. Got to hang with the multi-talented Moodswinger this weekend and we banged the begnning of a deep groove...

Had a great weekend. Hung out with Moodswinger William and talked music while reliving a great Dimiti from Paris mix. Still working on the Things U Do 2 Me remix. Got new tracks from Aelxander East - coming very soon - and City Soul Project - damn they are hot. The 3345 Music family gets a new little Dj in about six weeks, so been assembling crib, stroller and more - but great fun!

Beatport took a while, but now all our releases are there. Busy weekend - Alexander East was in Dallas for a gig at Viper Lounge. Face and Dallas-gone-LA legend Richie Boom Stanley were on hand. It's been unbearably hot here, but Alexander bumped the bass guitar and made it cool with deejay skills! He previewed his new track Supposed 2 Be, coming soon on 3345 Music!

Spent the rest of the time doing a little production and spending time with the wife, sushi on Friday, mexican on Sat and we cooked mahi mahi at home on Sun!

Big new on the remix front - CHUCK LOVE is on the 3345 Music team. Check will be doing a version, and Craig Stewart and Johnny Montana (check their latest work on Milkn2Sugars) of
Things U Do 2 Me by Pepper Mashay. There is also an ill castle remix and very deep dub from yours truly.

Summer, summer and things are getting hot! The Photo Poetic remixes are being wrapped up. Have a great vocal track from Pepper Mashay with ill castle working hard. Still lining up other remixes, but the amazing City Soul Project boys are on board. Alexander East is touring the west coast, but he's got music in his soul. Groovilicoious and a new track from Craig Stewart and Johnny Montana are cooking. We've add two new stations for Joe Castillo's Deep Twisted Roots radio show, Smoothtraxx.gr and raunchyrhythms.com. The wife and I got to catch a bit of Jennifer's lounge set on Friday, she sounded amazing and was great to cathc up. Face is on tour in New Mexico. Add a really cool little compressor plug-in to the arsenal. All is happening!

We have Alexander East signed up for release of a new track this fall. Alexander is a great creative artist with over 100 releases to his credit. He promises some excellent remixes from his friends!

Also on board is Groovilicious featuring vocals by Boom. This is a big room house track that we will be putting the 3345 remix touch on. You might recognize Boom from his vocals on Pizzaman's Sex on the Streets and numerous 2-step tracks.

A great vocal from Pepper Mashay is also saved on the harddrive. Originally released by Del Records, we are going to turn the diva upside down.

And remixes of Photo Poetic's downtempo classic Fight of Flight are nearing the ready.

So that's the line up of new releases as we head into late summer and fall.

Had a great week of production. The Bump Brothers remix of Photo Poetic's Fight or Flight took a whole new direction after some comments by the Moodswinger. A couple of late nights later and I had a wow-moment at the depth of the jam. Also got the vocals for remix of Pepper Mashay track that the team will be working on. Cooked out some great tuna steaks, then fireworks on the 4th. Dinner a Lee Harvey's with the wife on the day off.

The weekend was tough for getting work done. Dad, step-mom, sister and her husband were visting for sis's birthday. Nice seeing her, but by the time I was able to focus on getting a groove, time was short. Still the bumpbrothers made some progress on their photo poetic remix - so maybe a demo workup this week. Angie Dickinson is getting sick play all over the world - all the mixes, in some really impressive mix shows. And the next release is in the works. Need to get some bass traps for the studio to cut down on rumble.

New Approach

Ok, so this blogging thing hasn't really been happening so far. But we're trying a new approach. Getting a bit more informative and behind the scenes at the label, and maybe a bit personal too.

We've just released the amazing Angie Dickinson by the Grooveblaster with remxies by DJ Spinna, Moodswinger and ThreeC. It is getting amazing support and play from club DJs, podcasters, internet radio and traditional radio. This looks like our biggest release so far and has everyone in a rush.

We've got several projects in the works sure to keep the grooves alive, but I'm waiting on them to be confirmed. Locked up is the long waited release from Photo Poetic. I've always loved the orignal version, but had trouble getting remixes together. Now DJ FM is working on dubstep and deep house remixes and The Bump Brothers are doing their secret spell deep within the city.

As far as the 3345 Music family, Joe is doing SSRadiouk.com every other Tuesday at 8 p.m. central and takes his Deep Twisted Roots on the road reguarly with some great guests. Jennifer is working on a new solo album in between her many vocalist gigs. Grooveblaster has a new album set for release later in the summer.
