The Napoleon House, New Orleans, LA.  Built in 1797, this restaurant was certainly my favorite experience of our recent trip. The history of the building is pretty nifty, as it was planned at one point to be the new world home of Napoleon, but he died before the plans could be completed.

Anyway, it might have been the three Pimm’s Cups doing what they do, but it was a very fun experience.

I really like the way these turned out. Check out the scale reference in the second shot.  Paetra is gonna be a monster… not as big as her dad, but big nonetheless.

From the same series, this time just exteriors. I like these a lot thanks to the great light in a couple of these shots (no.1 and no.4), but I’m looking forward to more interiors. You just never quite know what you’re going to get when you approach the window, which is half the fun.  The photos are a bonus.

This is the first installation in an ongoing theme revolving around taking photos of the inside of businesses after everyone has gone home and nobody is tending shop. I’ve wanted to start this series for quite a while, after seeing a metal shop after hours in Minneapolis and not having my camera along to shoot it.

Aidan had a relatively early soccer match on Saturday. It was a lovely morning, primarily because we left early enough that I was able to grab a coffee on the way.  That made all the difference.

The Diana+ is one of the recent lomo cameras in a similar vein to the Holga line. Based on the Diana toy camera from the 1960’s, the “+” equals a few improvements, including the pinhole option which is available by removing the lens entirely.  It shoots medium format film, and draws some really neat images.

These three images are some of my favorite black & whites so far.  The first two are from a photo walk in downtown Portland, OR.
