Zavvi are selling the Xbox 360 250GB version for £164.95 online at the moment which is £5 more expensive than at Amazon. However when entering code CLEARTEN at the checkout stage a 10% discount is applied.

This is for the Matte Black version of the console so those wanting the shiny version will have to pay more for the privilege!

Further to this mornings post about the 20% discount at Comet it seems that Currys plus PC World who are part of the same group have joined the party to offer 20% discount off their consoles too.

However this offer is better than the Comet one as Currys original prices were £10 cheaper on each Xbox 360 model meaning even better savings and the lowest prices we have seen the Xbox 360 drop to so far this year and since the Christmas offers.

To coincide with the launch of the Mass Effect 3 demo on Xbox 360 Microsoft have confirmed that they will be granting temporary free Xbox Live Gold access.

Confirmed earlier today on CVG Microsoft will give access to a limited to to anyone downloading the Mass Effect 3 demo.

“In celebration of ME3, Xbox is pleased to provide fans access to ME3 demo multiplayer for the time leading to launch,” said MS. “Xbox LIVE Gold gives you exclusive benefits including multiplayer gaming, member-only deals & previews, and access to entertainment with Netflix, ESPN, Hulu Plus and more.”

The length of the free access is unknown at this moment in time.
