In the past 18 years I have seem more lectures and seminars than most. Articulation is the key word hear. When a prominent leader in the fitness and therapy industry talks about a multi-planar lunge for 2 hours, and hands you a 16 page article on it, turn around and run out the door! We are in a very scary time right now. So, back to another reminder.
Again, there is NO (TM) TRADEMARK IN MOVEMENT. WE DO NOT "OWN" MOVEMENT. THERE IS NO BEST SYSTEM, SO AS FAR AS PARADIGMS. PARADIGMS ARE JUST A PRETTY PICTURES OF TRIANGLES, OR WHATEVER THE AUTHOR CHOOSES TO DRAW, SELL, AND SHOW OTHERS HOW TO PLAN! Intensity works! lets move on, sorry about the misleading title, but here's the real problem. It never ceases to amaze me... this industry with its saturated franchises, WOW! if the price is right and the pockets are deep, anyone can have a "kettlebell gym", a "fitness studio", or a large useless facility with all the injury producing trainers and amenities. This same sad mentality applies to a lot of "non-profits", Again! anyone can start a non-profit! Most of these trainers have no experience, but hey what does that matter? if they close the deal. I got news for you "wellness and fitness" is not a product, its a service. A service that should be carried out without the robotic car sales bullshit. It seems that everyone has that "special sales model". This does not exist! For once why don't you just sit down and actually give a damn beyond the $$. This is a quote off a design done by a brilliant individual and artist. "Being envied is a solitary form of reassurance". When are trainers going to actually take a look at the program they have written on paper, and not just copy and apply it without THOUGHT. Programs may look great in a package, on a DVD, or on paper, but please people! Don't order a great program like Mad Science but destroy its intent by blindly exhausting people because you think its cool.

What are we here to do?

Nothing like a good conversation with John Davies, its 15 minutes later and my wheels are turning. What are we here to do? We are here to help each other out, get involved, and promote each other. As coaches, I really can't be proud to call myself a "personal trainer" in an industry gone mad, zealots and lemmings dancing in their silky marketing. As coaches we must uphold some universal law of ethics by understanding movement, how to apply it properly in a program, and adapt and modify it accordingly. Attention! for all you current posers and thieves alike, the parasitic coaches who stand over their clients exhausting them with complete disregard for anything but their own self fulfilling glory and greed, yeah you know who you are, Check yourself pal.... because you are not just hurting your clients, but hurting this industry on a much larger scale.

GREAT EQUIPMENT FOR SALE

Hello everyone, I am trying to sell the following items:

Forza Hydraulic Squat Stands
10 inch Diameter Shot Loadable Kettlebell with Custom Wrap
8 inch Diameter Shot Loadable War Hammer with Custom Wrap

The Stands are the real deal. Outwardly upright, extended, filled with spirit.
This is the foundation of stillness. Add the hard and the soft, the powerful and the relaxed, Motion and stillness, contraction and extension: In the instant these converge, there is power.
-Grand Master Wang Xiang Zhai

Ever see the way Laird Hamilton sails down a giant? He appears completely motionless, as if he were part of the wave. Ever feel the power while standing in a basic Chi Kung posture? Indescribable. Isometric holds, Yoga, various eastern methods, proprioception, whatever you need to call it, are the Axle for the Wheel of Conditioning. As stated many times before, way... way before fitness sold its soul. Movement starts with stillness. Whether it’s just standing 5 minutes, or hanging out the Indo board for a while, these are critical applications that are missing in most paper programs, or are just put there for the sake of the “functional sale”. Want to humble yourself, attempt the Rx Squat. There are so many ways to apply this in training. Where do you start? Too big a question. I highly recommend whatever strikes you. You can try some basic planks, the horse, triangle, warrior, etc., but if you have not, you must experience standing in just a basic Wu Chi stance from Chi Kung. All you have to do is stand, feet shoulder width, shoes off; relax you knees, stomach, and hips. Your arms should hang loosely with your fingers slightly apart. Let your neck relax by looking forwards and downwards slightly. Sink down a little at the knees. Your feet take the weight of your body. Your fingers will twitch….this is active recovery, this is power.

Welcome

Welcome, as I march onward in an industy that is truly disheartening. When you dive deep into multi-cultural training paradigms you realize how little we really know, but also how much we've lost in today's artificially driven fitness. Nothing but empirical accountability TV and empty goal setting. First's are always questionable! There is no trademark in movement. If anything, it's our objective strength that defines us.

"I must create a system or be enslaved by another man's; I will not reason and compare: my business is to create. "
-William Blake
