365 Days of Yogi the Cavachon

Day 289 Comeback!

2013-06-20T22:44:00.001+09:30

It's been a few months since I moved out of Katt's but Yogi comes around most Thursday evenings now so I'm going to try and make it to the end of the 365. It's a little hard to continue a daily blog when you no longer live with the dog in question.

I have my own dog now. Flame, who has her own twitter account http://www.twitter.com/purpleflamey and a facebook page http://www.facebook.com/purpleflamey where you will be able to see Yogi from time to time.

This was a pretty big project to chew and I did enjoy it while I was doing it. Even if Yogi didn't want to pose as much as I wanted him to.

Hi Yogi fans! I'm back. Sorta. I'm a bit blurry

coz I'm out of practice.

Heeler Vs Cavachon

I'm having troubles getting the video to link but you should be able to click on the above link to watch some awesome tug of war going on.

Hiatus (Aunty Anne's Admission)

2013-02-21T11:07:00.002+10:30

I moved out of Katt's a few months ago. She continued the blog for a couple of months and then her computer started having major issues. Meaning she's been unable to even log into the blog.

So, although yesterday would have been the very last post of the 365 days... it won't be. I don't think this journal will be updated daily any more. It's impossible as I don't see Yogi every day and I think Katt is still having issues.

I would one day like to see it finished though. So, next time I see Yogi I will take some photos and update. I'll also check in with Katt to see if there have been any updates with her computer.

Yogi's got a brother now. Katt's daughter Jodie rescued the most gorgeous white husky. He has the paw must go on back of other dogs issue - which is Flame's pet *hate* ... so sadly they haven't been able to play together as yet. Hopefully that will get sorted out because it would be great for those two stamina hounds to chase each other around the park.

I will be starting a blog for Flamey once I get back from my trip but it won't be a 365 day thing. I'm hoping to get her into agility and herding when I get home. But, this is Yogi's blog so I won't go too much into it.

I'll ask Katt what she wants to do... I started the blog a year ago with the full intention of seeing it through until it's very last post. Unfortunately life gets in the way of our best intentions sometimes.

Thanks for reading... and hopefully this won't be the last post on 365 Days of Yogi.

~Aunty Anne.

Park Cuddles! (Day 288)

2012-12-08T10:41:00.001+10:30

We took Flame and Yogi down the local park as they can't play together if they go to Katt and Yogi's favourite park as Flame's too big to go into the small dog park. So, they could play through the fence but not together. I was hoping Dougal the wolfhound we met would be there but he hasn't been there since when we've been down.

Still, these two had fun.

What do you think? Could we live here?

Let's see. Move a little to the left.

Yeah! Cuddle time!

Bloody Technical Difficulties (AAA) (Day 287)

2012-12-08T09:45:00.001+10:30

It's hard to believe we're nearly there.
It's been nice having Katt do the blog for the past couple of months but sometimes I miss doing it.
We had fun the other night. I walked Flame down to Yogi's place, sat down out the back and laughed my arse off.

Those two are hysterical. Katt is still bogged down with technical difficulties. There will still be 365 Days - they just won't be completely consecutive. Having Flame here makes it more difficult for me to just go kidnap Yogi and bring him here so I can keep the photos coming. Although I am tempted to ask Katt if I can kidnap him for a couple of hours just so Flame can run around and around in circles chasing him.

No, it's not in here, Flame!

I'm telling you it's not in here!

It might be, Yogi. You probably just

had a man look! Let me see!

Missing Pics (again) for Yesterday (Day 286)

2012-12-06T00:41:00.002+10:30

Hello everyone, Katt here..Needless to say I yet again missed putting up Yogi's pics on time due to recurring computer issues. I'm HOPING the pics will upload on this (much older/smaller) other system I'm using at the moment. (Oh, the reason I'm attempting the blog post on THIS system? Because I still can't work out how to solve the Error Msgs I keep getting on mine! One tells me that the Cookie Functionality is turned OFF. (HUHH!!!????) To 'fix' delete cookies & Temp files, log out, close browser, try again!!" I have tried this several times without success, so I'm now in the process of burning files/folders etc onto Discs, then its reformat time! . (I HOPE that solves the problem..or I'm going to have to get the system fixed..fingers X'd it won't come to that). I can still log into this page from this slower system, AND I can play a FB game that I couldn't even access (due to Error 3) on MY system. But it took nearly 1/2 and HOUR to get these 5 pics up! Anyway, this Blog isn't about MY 'Trials & Tribulations"..this IS Yogi's Blog after all, so heere Comes YOGI Da Cavachon!!

I hear someone out there, Mummy..could it be Flame & Auntie Anne visiting us? I'd better check the front door!

I can't see them coming up the path..

Mummy, are you SURE they said they'd be here 'soon'?
how many hours is 'soon' in dog-time you ask? TOO MANY!!)

Oh dear, what's a poor Yogi gonna do? All that time to have to wait.
OOOH..I KNOW!!>>>

Doing what he does best... (to pass the time till Flame gets here at least ) Sweet Dreams (of Flame, I'm sure) Yogi Da Cavachon.

(PS! Congratulations are in order I see for Auntie Anne & Yogi's foray into the blogosphere where they've both gained some 'recognition' ! Hope I can do you 2 'justice' with my posts..Katt.

Yogi's famous! (Aunty Anne Attack!)

2012-12-05T09:19:00.004+10:30

A few months ago when I was still living with Katt and Yogi I did an interview about the blog for Susannah Waters. She sent me the article today and told me I was welcome to put a copy up on Yogi's blog so I'm doing so. Click here to read Pets with profiles

Katt is having so many troubles with her computer at the moment it's not funny. I might drop by on my way back from my appointment and see if I can help her out at all.

Let me update you on Miss Flame - she is settling in so well now. She's finally realised the car doesn't mean she's going somewhere new and away from me. I am her human and that's all there is to it. But, she's finally okay with letting me out of her sight for a while - when it's her choice. She doesn't like it when it's my choice. But I can't always take her with me. She's been an absolute joy apart from when she's being a rat bag.

As is Blogger I'm getting told I've used 100% of my photo storage space - and the domain isn't letting me link to stuff through there. Argh what a nightmare. Good old photobucket!

My fiancé told me all about using

big sticks for dental hygiene.

Missing Pics (Day 285)

2012-12-02T20:31:00.001+10:30

Not The Vets' Again (Pic-free):( (Day 285)

2012-12-01T22:41:00.000+10:30

Today Yogi was NOT a 'Happy Chappy". He started off this morning not as 'bouncy' as he usually is first thing in the morning..and didn't want to go outside when I opened the door, either.
A while later, he went outside, for about 10 minutes, but when he came back in, walking 'strangely', but worst of all, he had a 'smell' about him!! No..NOT "Skunk" smell, (we don't have them here in Australia!) I gotta admit here..I was NOT looking forward to what I HAD to do!
I went to the kitchen, got a set of rubber gloves, walked over to Yogi, (who was trying NOT to sit), lifted his tail..and what do you know?! MESSY!!..
I think poor Yogi knew what was gonna happen next, when he saw me running a bath! He was very 'demure' during this 'indignity'.. but I only managed to get his rear end wet and washed enough to get rid of 1/2 the 'mess'. He wouldn't let me do anymore..so, to stop stressing him, I got him out of the bath, dried him as much as he'd let me, then he went outside again.
I followed to see what he was up to, and again, he was 'toileting', well, TRYING to, anyways. The problem I could see was that he was 'going', but nothing was forth-coming! This time, I rang the Vet and explained what was happening. Yogi got an appointment soon after.
I took Yogi to his 'favorite peoples' at the Pet Universe Clinic (Northgate, Sth Aust.). After some examinations, and tests, it seems the problem all along was that his Anal Glands were almost 'full'.!! (Apparently this has an affect on a dog's 'toileting' due to pain involved.!)
Anyway, to cut a long story short, Yogi was given some painkillers, a Laxative,(to be administered at home.just in case) and his Anal Glands were emptied. Poor puppy..he had to endure ANOTHER bath! But at least this time I DID manage to get him clean and smelling 'Yogi-ish" again! He finally started acting 'normal'..(for Yogi, at least).. so I got the camera out and 'set up'..but then I think the injection he'd received kicked in! He's been avoiding eye contact with me, understandable. He's REFUSED TREATS!! ( THAT"S a 1st!!)
Then he went and curled up on 'his' chair, (which is where these pics were taken), and hasn't moved much, I didn't want to stress him further after what happened with the Vet, so I only took a couple of pictures.
Now, to top off a 'not so nice' day, the photos I took won't upload onto here!
I just might have to post this part of the blog picture-free, and upload the pics as soon as I can. I really DO apologise for this..but..as the blog page says.."This blog is having Technical Difficulties'..

Flame Came To Visit (Day 284)

2012-12-01T01:58:00.001+10:30

WARNING!! Adult Language I haven't learnt to edit out yet... Apologies In Advance!!

Yogi's 'girlfriend' Flame (Da Purple Heeler), came to visit today. I managed to get 2 short videos of them 'inter-acting' .. so...On With The Show!!

I would have had more vids..but Flame didn't visit too long, because of storm warnings.

Hopefully I'll get to see Flame again tomorrow..Maybe I can show her some of my toys she HASN"T laid claim to!!

The "I'm Starving..Need Treeeeats (Day 283)

2012-11-29T22:03:00.000+10:30

Yogi has been house-bound again today due to the heat...I swear this is The Great Treat Swindle" (starring Yogi Da Cavachon, and assorted feet & knees!) ' I could see by watching him that he was thinking/planning 'SOMEthing'! Watch what happens... :)

And So It Begins

Hhhmmm, I've been inside ALL Millionty-Billion Years (well 4 hours at least!) I've been really quiet, and only pestered Mummy with the Elbow Nudge she seems to like so much..until she told me to "Stop Doing That, Or NO Treats".

I really shouldn't push my luck here..oh but I can't help myself..I've GOT to have treats...

Ummm, muuummy..??

Mummy?, can I please have a Treat?..I've been reeeeeelly good today...pleeeeze??

OOOH DOGGY CHOCS! NomNomNomNomNom..

Hehehe ANOTHER "Great Treat Caper" concuded successfully!

Sleeping furbaby is oh-so-cute (Day 282)

2012-11-28T23:07:00.002+10:30

It's been another beautiful day here in Adelaide, just a pity that it's so hot already (40C tomorrow), and we haven't even 'officially' reached Australia's Summer yet..(Dec. to Feb) !! As you will see in the pics below..poor Yogi doesn't handle the hot weather very well.
I considered ringing his Aussie Pooch Mobile Dog-Wash lady (Lyn) to see if she could come sooner than Friday week..but I know she is very heavily booked at the moment. I've also considered bathing Yogi myself...except for the fact that he is still getting medication appied to his ears for the Yeast infections he has. I totally don't want to exacerbate this problem, as it seems to be clearing up.

Does this qualify for a 'Let Sleeping Dogs Lie' scenario??

If you look closely at Yogi's eye, you can see he's acually 'playing possum"!

Either that, or this is his BEST "Dead Dog' trick!

PS: NO Yogi's were harmed in any way in the production of these pictures.!

Cat-door too small?? NAAAH!! (Day 281)

2012-11-27T13:01:00.000+10:30

A few times when I've had to go out ,I've left Yogi at home, inside..I've left the cat-door open so Yattie (Da Evil Cat) can come and go as he pleases..I've wondered a couple of times how Yogi has managed to get outside, when I know I've left him INside!
Well, due to 'good timing'..I've managed to 'solve the mystery'! Yogi was inside with me, he heard a noise outside..he ran for the back door...I followed him, prepared to open the door to let him out. However, when I got to the laundry..NO SIGN of Yogi!! The ONLY way he could disappear like that is if he went out the cat-door! I raced back to get the camera, praying he'd stay outside long enough for me to get 'set up', which he did! I still couldn't believe that my 16" high, 21" long Cavachon could get through this 7"x5 1/2" square hole in the wall...

...until I managed to capture the below video!!

Yattie Da Evil Cat's cat-door, (7" X 5 1/2" with my hand as a 'relative size indicator'.

I know cats are pretty flexible and able to get into/through small spaces...but what Yogi did here totally surprised me!!

Close-Ups...Win?? > > FAIL!!! (Day 280)

2012-11-26T19:00:00.001+10:30

Oh my, is anyone else (who reads this blog) aware that there are 'only' 85 Days left of Yogi's " 1 year in the life of a Cavachon" blog? (well, when I say 'left' I'm meaning 'every day posts' won't be happening, it'll be more like "When good stuff (or Bad) happens' thru Yogi's future days. It will possibly come down to a 'weekly' or 'bi-weekly' posts. Anyways...Auntie Anne is always asking for Close-Ups of Yogi's gorgeous face. Well! Do you know how HARD it is to get nice portrait shots when the subject of said portrait shot waits till the very last second before the flash goes off to turn away, look away..just in general..mess up! The following pics are todays' concerted effort by my daughter Jodie & myself to get even 'close' to what I wanted! Enjoy :)

Oh goodie..it's Magic Tricks time.."Now Ya See Me..."

"Now Ya Don't! hehehe

Ooooops, I don't think Jodie was impressed that I tricked her...

I'm sorry Jodie,,really I am..you'll see, I'll be good now.

Aww Mummy, what do you mean "you looked away Yogi"?? I was showing you my 'best' side...

Or was it this way?? hhhmm.. I THINK it is..

Oh Yeah..this IS my 'good' side

What do you mean "This is your 'good side'?? This is my 'good FRONT..not my 'good side"!!

hehehe

(NOT LONG AFTER THIS...I had to go looking for Yogi..he HAD 'disappeared'..all the way under the red computer desk! (Mind you..there WAS a mini-thunderstorm going on at the time!)

Ohh..you found me, Mummy...is it safe to come out now??

Are you SURE.?? I don't see Yattie (Da Evil Cat) sitting out there with you..!! So..thanks but no thanks, I'll stay right here for now..(at least until Yattie comes out too) !!!

Tricks Times (Day 279)

2012-11-25T22:47:00.000+10:30

Hi everyone.. to get today's post started..we are giving you 2 Bonus pics from last night! Jodie & Brett were here with my grandson, Harley and his friend, Josh. Yogi realised that Harley had fallen asleep in the Recliner..so decided that he needed to be woken up!! As you can see, he didn't have that much of an impact!!

What the ?? (Day 278)

2012-11-24T21:30:00.001+10:30

Today has been a mix of things..HOT! (30C +); FUN..Flame came over to play, (only for a little while tho), and to top it off. - A RUDE AWAKENING ..Yogi woke up with quite a jump when the first (of quite a lot) Fireworks were set off just up the road a bit (at the High School). He's quite ok now..had a bit of a grumble after the first few, but then surprised me by sitting at the window WATCHING them!! You can see by his expression in these pics that he was NOT happy to be woken up that way!

Mummy can I sit here with you? I don't like those Bang-y noises...

Yeah I know, it's not a Big Bang-y thing, it's just a little Click-y thing..but it IS oh-so-bright..(can anyone guess what it is??)

After The Vet..( Day 277)

2012-11-23T23:31:00.000+10:30

Yogi was at the Vets' from 8:30am this morning. He has had to go under anaesthetic to have his ears checked, cleaned and medicated. He has a rather nasty Yeast Infection in his Right ear..and also a mild inflammation of his Left ear. It seems Yogi suffers from these infections as Cocker Spaniels due..a bit of moisture causes the Yeast bloom..nasty! As a result of the anaesthetic he has been rather quiet, so I have left him alone for the most part.
He finally perked up a bit not too long ago..and below are the results of some quick 'camera-reflexes' .

Hey Mummy..can we just take these 3 for today? today?

I'll feel a lot better tomorrow..really..

Please tell ALL my Yogi-fans that I'll be better tomorrow.

A Visit To The Vet (Day 276)

2012-11-22T20:37:00.000+10:30

Yogi had to go to the Vets' today as he has a recurring ear problem. I remembered to take the camera with us, (us being Yogi, Jodie and myself).
As usual, Yogi was soooooo happy to see his friends at Northgate's Pet Universe!.

Oooh..I KNOW where we are..

oooh what does it say? I'm too scared to look..

oh okies..10 kg..wow that makes me heavier than that Evil Katt Yattie!

hhhmm..I wonder..should I tell him??

Nah..I'll just wait till HIS next visit here, then he will see for himself , yeah!!

oooh here's one of my favorite nurses!

HellohellohellohelloHi there..it's been AGES!!

well, hello there..prospective friend..it's nice to meet you..

AAH You know how to High-5! Who told you??

And did you get treats for learning it??

Whoohooo..Mummy just told me I'm coming back tomorrow morning for a 'longer visit'!! Yippy..more treats from the nurses!!

I'm gonna have sweet treat dreams tonight..I'm soo looking forward to tomorrow ..

It's All About The Vac (Day 275)

2012-11-21T21:43:00.000+10:30

Hello there. Today I managed to get a couple of cute videos of Yogi Da (Brave) Cavachon and his 'argument' with the vacuum cleaner Jodie was using hehe

(Anndd it's Sir Yogi of Da Cavachon to the rescue.. )

Can't let this nastry drag'n get MY Mummy!!

Hold fast there ye nasty, noisy drag'n..

Ye Shall Not Pass

I think it's safe now Mummy, I chased the nasty drag'n away :)

BONUS PICS/VIDEO (Day 274 Cont'd)

2012-11-21T00:45:00.000+10:30

As you can see by the date..this pic was taken yesterday after Auntie Anne took Miss Flame home.

It seems our little man is still waiting... "still no Flame.."

No worries there, I'll just have a nap and dream of our play-date yesterday :)

PS> I have to say, at this point, that we had a stinking hot day here today..Yogi was relaxing under the A/C vent!)

Flame-ing Visit Part 2 (Day 274)

2012-11-20T17:51:00.000+10:30

Well here we are again, this time with more pics/videos of Yogi and Flame on their play-date here yesterday....ENJOY!!

Hello Auntie Anne, Hi Flame...

Ya know, I bet if we asked nicely, you'd be allowed to take your leash off

Wanna wrestle? (Just a little bit tho..don't want to hurt your stitches)

Oooh..get off me Flame..you're squishin' my tummy!

hehehe revenge!

Phew..who knew that wrestling could be soooo hard

Flame & me sharing a 'after-wrestle-snack'

What's that Auntie Anne? You've got a treat in your hand??

Aww, you was just trickin'..

(Notice the 'share-ratio' of the bones??)

Flame couldn't decide which one she wanted..

And you'd never guess that this is Yogi Da Cavachon AFTER his g/f Flame went home again

Flame-ing Visit Part 1 (Day 273)

2012-11-19T21:07:00.000+10:30

Yogi vs The Frisbee (Day 272)

2012-11-18T21:56:00.002+10:30

YYYAAAYYY It's A-OK...

Can we try throwing it outside tomorrow Mummy..??

I'm So Lonely..(Day 271)

2012-11-17T16:58:00.000+10:30

Auntie Anne came for a visit today, and Flame was with her. I only know this 'cos they came and said 'hello' thru the side game, (but there's only a teeny-tiny gap that I can see thru, so it wasn't much fun).
I know they stayed a while, because I could hear Flame barking occasionally, but because I was OUTside., I couldn't come 'help' her..I'm a silly cavachon, cos I thought she was in trouble and needed me to 'save' her!..I didn't know they were PLAYING..with me outside still! Oh well..it kinda worked out good in the end.
Mummy came out and put my leash on me, then took me inside. Hello Aun'nnn..heeeello Flame!!
To cut a long conversation short..Flame and I had a chat about the 'barks from the neighbourhood', so I told her about Charlie (next door), and the very Bark-ey dogs in the garden-centre yard.

I heard Auntie Anne telling Mummy that Flame is coming back tomorrow..

Ooh, I do hope I heard right

Is Flame gonna come here every day now Mummy?

Wow, this waiting sure is tiring..how much longer now Mummy?

Aww.. not another sleep away..

Why does it always have to be '1 more sleep'...

Mummmy, can you make tomorrow get here faster?

No? yeah, that's what I thought..

and I'm a pretty darn clever little cavachon, just ask anybody..)

Oh okay, I'll be patient, I'll just sit up here and watch for them, ok? .. waiting...waiting..waizzzzzzzz...

Hamper Day (Day 270 Part 2)

2012-11-16T17:33:00.000+10:30

MMMUUUMMMMY..???.

Can you make a list of the goodies so all my fans can 'share the happy' with me plz..??

Okay Yogi, lets' see what we've got here:

Yes, ok Yogi..we'll do that very soon .

Unexpected Addition Day 269 (Technically 270)

2012-11-16T02:47:00.000+10:30

Hello everyone.
We're sorry this blog is late, (by 2hrs, 45 mins), but there is good reason!
My daughter Jodie and I were out most of the day, (until 2:15am Friday morning)!!
We received word yesterday that Jodie has recently become a (1st time)-Grandmother, which makes me a (1st time) GREAT-Grandmother!!
Yogi and I have already decided that today's (Friday) blog 'goes ahead as usual", to make up for the 'delay' in posting.

We'll be back after some much-needed sleep,
g'nite/morning.
