Look at this crazy 60s bonnet. Oh so sooo pink...crazy pink! I don't know how I feel about that, maybe I can paint the roses red. ;-)

A weekend spent estate saling, flea marketing, and thrift storing. What a wildly successful pillage, that only a portion of the weekend's spoils are displayed here. Seriously can not decide what treasure is the greatest find of the ridiculous weekend. So enjoy this sneak peek of new items for Frankie Marie. Hmm, just noticed the weird focus on roundish things in this post, pumpkins, hats, platters, bowls, even a round suitcase. Guess round is the theme this time... around. heehee :-P

October is my birthday month, so here's a bit of birthday materialism for you... and me... naturally. Of course my current super birthday dreams being trips to Italy, China, or Alaska (Hint, hint, my Love).

Last week I was looking for some new locations for shooting Rehcy Vonne, this is what I found. Who knew my backyard offered so many fantastical options. Quite the fairy-tale jungle here, an overgrown Narnian dream. You'll be seeing some of these backgrounds in the very near future. The previous post about the Eliza Skirt shows a few Lewis-ian (C.S. Lewis like) samples.

A MONTH AT THE STUDIO: SEPTEMBER

Activities that happened in the Rehcy studio throughout September. Bustles, shoots, Victorian inspired coats, and magazine features filled the month, as well as, the beginning of my favorite season, Autumn, which is, you know, my secret lover. :-P Here are some pics to sum up this months antics for you.

First time attempting to shoot in the backyard, I believe my hot photographer did pretty well. Thanks, my Love. More on this shoot coming later this week.

So excited about this asymmetrical wool coat! Will be available the beginning of October. Can't wait for it to be cold enough to wear my sample!

Loving bustles, completely obsessed with them! Had to design a version that I could wear on a more casual level. The Eliza Skirt, Available now at the Rehcy Vonne Etsy Shop.

Scouting angles in the yard for Rehcy Vonne shoots. Who knew our yard could provide such gorgeous, fantasy world backgrounds.

Slowly creating the studio of my dreams. Here are some of my plans. I've been obsessed with the bright greens! So colors are Olive and Apple Greens with a White base, and Silver, Bamboo, and Gray accents.

Hmmm, guess I'm doing an eclectic style with the chairs. Just too many freaking awesome ones to choose from! My studio is the only color in the house; I'm redoing the rest of the house in complete white from rugs to knickknacks! Yes, I'm crazy. :-P

Been loving the feather ear cuffs, and finally had the time to make some! So excited about these!

Spent the day making some new goodies for my Rehcy by Anna Maria shop on Etsy and for Artesano, the wonderful shop in Fort Walton that carries my accessory line.

In honor of my 100th post that will be happening soon, I'm thinking of maybe doing a some sort of giveaway of one of my accessories, but I'll have to figure out how exactly to do the giveaway. Watcha think? Let me know.

I am in love with the Rehcy by Anna Maria Fall 2012 collection.

Yea, yea, I know that's a on the conceited side, but hey, sometimes you can't help but be a little proud of your work. :-D

One of my favorite mediums to work with are antique and vintage metal works. The Fall 2012 collection is made from antique brass works from Europe.

As I fondly refer to it, organized chaos covers the 9 foot by 5 foot ping-pong table, re-purposed as my design desk. Feathers, hammer, strips of scrap leather, more feathers, and a mound of vintage clothing left to upload for Frankie Marie by Rehcy are among the items in front of me. It's 10:00 pm, and I still have over 4 hours of work left on my must-get-done list for the day, not to mention a Spanish lesson and a 90 min workout. You're welcome to do the math...

Such is the life a fashion designer building her brand.

Oh if I didn't love what I do... well, lucky for me, I do. :-)

A little while back I did a shoot with Kaci of Owen's Photography and the wonderful model/photographer Lexy Jo with make-up by John Dye. Peculiar Pigeon aka Aileen, one of my best friends, assisted with the shoot and took the behind the scenes shots. So you have her to thank for your backstage pass. Thanks, Peculiar Pigeon.

The shoot was funny and crazy in all the good ways. Kaci and Lexy are great to work with and both adapt and quickly overcome any obstacles. Mr. Dye is fun, inspiring, and always gives you a great laugh.

I'm excited to work with you all again!

As all activities can be learning experiences...one negative of the shoot was that I felt slightly rushed, and thus this shoot has prompted me to set a new rule for fashion shoots:

Two hours for hair and makeup

One hour allotted per outfit change per model, with an extra 30mins for hair and make-up if their are any make-up or hair changes.

Example: A shoot with two models with three outfits per model and one make-up change each.

2 hours for initial hair and make-up

2 models with 3 outfits each is 2x3= 6 hours

1 make-up change is 30mins x 1 change per model = 1hour

So...

2hours + 6 hours + 1 hour = 9 hour photo-shoot

No more rushing. Rushing equals stress. Stress equals acne. Acne is yucky.

So NO MORE RUSHING! :-)
