The majority of the trees were stunning and very beautiful. Others, well, let's say others lacked a tiny bit in the beauty department. While others had ornaments that quite frankly I had never seen anybody adorn Christmas trees with the US flag, but hey, that's just me. In any case, what follows will be my pictures of the trees. And the ginger bread house. I had to edit all the background out since there were a lot of people. Let's start the show with the gingerbread house. Enjoy!<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9ov4XbCV_7Ghj80G5sxLIk37VMLNBz8SwfWWhlCwxNevKFKbQM4gBc9VHwPtRhqFI4a9V6QYzfo4ywMFD3FIffawTYEJi_hu9GA3dQzDhKQGaVL0TTlsOdfCqmXJJmegydidWjnaydnY/s1600/museumgingerhouse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="284" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9ov4XbCV_7Ghj80G5sxLIk37VMLNBz8SwfWWhlCwxNevKFKbQM4gBc9VHwPtRhqFI4a9V6QYzfo4ywMFD3FIffawTYEJi_hu9GA3dQzDhKQGaVL0TTlsOdfCqmXJJmegydidWjnaydnY/s640/museumgingerhouse.jpg" width="640" /></a></div> <br /> <br />Alma Hoffmannhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02472369699284546308noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1288049646916150876.post-61402017732552038762010-12-26T18:25:00.000-06:002010-12-26T18:25:59.671-06:00Hi all!<br /> <br /> This weekend really got me off track. I lost sense of dates. Only yesterday did I realize that I had totally forgotten to design and post my Friday wallpaper in my other blog. I will make up for that this coming Friday. In the meantime I am trying to end the year by finishing my daily365 with 365 designs. I am 16 designs behind but I will push through between photos and sketches and end with 365. For now I worked a bit more on my typehero and I created his body. I even added a matching portfolio to his eyeglasses. I will keep playing with it here and there but please feel free to tell me what you think. Enjoy!<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5Wrg15Vl500dC4DO2QMDMeUnb3jQFKme19IuwazB_ZkZT5ItCseKE6hz9053YJbYP4_6pe4CTI_yeQTTAqD724eru3SkK59wOvmyZwTaFFrLYAYuI3vPj9iPqtBahQdOg6jLPbAhuOVI/s1600/typeherobody.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5Wrg15Vl500dC4DO2QMDMeUnb3jQFKme19IuwazB_ZkZT5ItCseKE6hz9053YJbYP4_6pe4CTI_yeQTTAqD724eru3SkK59wOvmyZwTaFFrLYAYuI3vPj9iPqtBahQdOg6jLPbAhuOVI/s640/typeherobody.jpg" width="494" /></a></div> <br /> <br />Alma Hoffmannhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02472369699284546308noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1288049646916150876.post-63731350300925867832010-12-23T19:14:00.000-06:002010-12-23T19:14:35.348-06:00Hi all!<br /> <br /> Merry Christmas! It was by<span class="tweet-user-name"> <span class="tweet-full-name"><a href="http://informationarchitects.jp/">Oliver Reichenstein</a> about WikiLeaks. The tweet only said Thank you. I am super curious so I had to click and check it out and I found it to be a link to <a href="http://www.cidh.oas.org/relatoria/showarticle.asp?artID=829&amp;lID=1">OAS Joint Statement</a> in regards to WikiLeaks. Whether or not you agree with WikiLeaks you cannot argue against the fact that we all have grown and come to believe in freedom of speech as a sacred right. Perhaps because I grew up in another country that though it is US Territory, has a different culture and set of values and we saw a different side of things down there, I am an idealist for civil and human rights. Thus, when our current administration promised government transparency because it kept us accountable as opposed to the past policy of secrecy, well, I believed them. Perhaps I am too much of an idealist. Who knows? The point is that today I saw this quote on the OAS site and I could not shake it from my head.&nbsp;</span></span><br /> <blockquote> Every person has the right to freedom of investigation, of opinion, and of the expression and dissemination of ideas, by any medium whatsoever. <br /> <div align="right"> -American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man</div> </blockquote> In response to that I created a simple poster, actually two. One with the flag the way we are used to see it and another with the flag upside down because I sometimes think our governments in general are upside down and ours seems to be in distress. I do not intend to offend anyone, I am trying to exercise my right to freedom of expression in the medium I chose: my blog and my posters. Enjoy!<br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrrci85GUCIGftgX7rrGuGU1aiQp20RzgaIk_DCkEKL_fQmd0J57WmetuJKj74CMAsBjj3Jq5leYm67Ypooc6ZgIdIoZ42kQhvk7YkvoKcUE0nLtWXcpbrHt6WzIce3VQkt-JPi6ZYCs0/s1600/freedom2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="486" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrrci85GUCIGftgX7rrGuGU1aiQp20RzgaIk_DCkEKL_fQmd0J57WmetuJKj74CMAsBjj3Jq5leYm67Ypooc6ZgIdIoZ42kQhvk7YkvoKcUE0nLtWXcpbrHt6WzIce3VQkt-JPi6ZYCs0/s640/freedom2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFiOE3fmiPbCORPPPklyqG6Qdm_ooRW7qll9I89am0DJM3GWOObw362s74WCGTdtx6VbD5XxBQc2tOiJ6taedi_P2b4nNPF1s5rrGJ5W2C5E26KPei_2oMpjFi8RE_lJjgNjnXbndT8n8/s1600/freedom2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a><br /> <br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs6CfFTb9OBcHbcd4427DTVzG3buWBrcJ7PXbj9BuaE3mY6Y826_IwmVijTFD_deW5I1zwbr2q-Ne3qnpydwJz0yB0G4VksEhS8Y6Ldj4YflHHCEDkUdlWfBvLSHYeqLVMRDFJPvRfDCA/s1600/freedom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs6CfFTb9OBcHbcd4427DTVzG3buWBrcJ7PXbj9BuaE3mY6Y826_IwmVijTFD_deW5I1zwbr2q-Ne3qnpydwJz0yB0G4VksEhS8Y6Ldj4YflHHCEDkUdlWfBvLSHYeqLVMRDFJPvRfDCA/s640/freedom.jpg" width="452" /></a></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifxR4QA1mRrJsiZlxDoB3o-axJ_ScVBoqAD4Vzkcd0ZGYKpGaNv2qm0a-jfkcLm7vggcBWkBHTRoldXOTTrVm9F1gsDOMymTyV-n8Y2Txe4qlpL7aX0_RuBmx92zL2_s5GVy3y-6ib5Fw/s1600/freedom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMg7NGCt34tx9mKuLlXb8229doYSPcPYlKX-Bpdx3bmOXd-clmpmHlj1lizJAJa1G5ZE-CHyHiaDCU108iJl9gGiAeh8YJc68MNoIC4DmvlP8p4TsF_PFV1Jz_6LbL5Rly4FlMiTqWAF0/s1600/freedom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFiOE3fmiPbCORPPPklyqG6Qdm_ooRW7qll9I89am0DJM3GWOObw362s74WCGTdtx6VbD5XxBQc2tOiJ6taedi_P2b4nNPF1s5rrGJ5W2C5E26KPei_2oMpjFi8RE_lJjgNjnXbndT8n8/s1600/freedom2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Alma Hoffmannhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02472369699284546308noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1288049646916150876.post-62827673962063839152010-12-23T17:07:00.002-06:002010-12-23T17:08:13.166-06:00<br /> <br /> Hi all! <br /> <br /> Today I am posting photo studies of our piano teacher playing piano. I got a little “lens flare” filter happy. What can I say? It is addictive. Anyhow, here are my studies. I am using some of the photos for her future web site and business card. Not to worry they will be minus lens flare! :-) Enjoy! <br /> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIfyZ3ZN02O4ClOBmq8kRvGb6l6OeCzWwYUtqoihzHpuRlMZOn6S1QQ6A6jdkyzWttuWBotYVwhguqilVj9NSvAtOovOITlsmAgcLqqV0ZhXdO04HBL4aVXr1Qrdo9ffbYv3XVMlVCL78/s1600/katepiano.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; So I had some fun with Illustrator's pattern palette today. Now, if you can please help me decide which glasses are best? Please vote!
