Tonight they’re having a free “Renegade” show at Ruta Maya Cofee House, which will not be suitable for children (unlike most of Jugglefest.)

The big show will be The Public Show tomorrow night at 7:30. The Public Show will showcase performers from all over the world and is a great event for the whole family. Admission to the main show is $5 and children 5 and under are free.

Last week I finally tried out a relatively new trailer, Blue Dog Pizza. Their small pizzas are the perfect size for someone to eat in one sitting. They have a great menu with tons of fun, funky items like cream cheese pesto sauce. The thin crust is perfectly crispy and evenly cooked.

The awesome thing is that they also offer dessert pizza, which takes me back to being 12 years old and gorging on dessert pizza at those all-you-can-eat pizza buffets. The dessert pizzas are amazing, with toppings like cinnamon apple cream cheese icing, graham crackers and marshmallows. It seriously takes dessert pizza to a whole new level.

What’s also a bonus is that they have Mexican sodas, including a Mexican apple soda, which is not a bad treat to add to your lunch.

This movie debuted in 1992 and is a perfect snapshot of her at the height of her career. And by going, you get to hear “I Will Always Love You” in a theater, which is totally worth it.

The drafthouse actually had this movie scheduled before the awful tragedy. It’s part of a new series they’re launching called Box Wine Cinema, which features movies that are “kind of cheap but a guilty pleasure.”

Mathematically, the marathon is “almost over”, but DO NOT shout that at the runners, because physically and mentally, it’s just not. The average marathoner will still have 40 to 45 minutes of running left. Most are now going further than they have ever run in their training. Bodies are low on fuel, and most runners have found the infamous “wall”, right as they head into the long hill up 51st. There’s a large water stop that will join you to up the noise and positive energy levels. The best access is from inside the course’s loop, from Lamar, or from outside the loop via Airport Blvd, down 53rd.

This event is definitely “Keeping Austin Weird.” This imaginative contest has grown each year and has become an afternoon of pure entertainment. Contestants are given eight minutes to share their story, the more outlandish, the better.

In the past they’ve had writers, attorneys, priests, politicians and police judge the contest. The judges grade each performance and decide who is this year’s best yarn-spinner.

It’s supposed to be the new hot spot on West 6^th, with a line-up of 72 beers on tap that fluctuate in price based on demand. It’s kind of a cool concept, and they’ll be trading local beers, imports, crafts, you name it. If all goes to plan during tonight’s trading, you may be able to score some high dollar beers for a low price. You’ll just have to keep your eye on the ticker to see where the deals are.
