Help me in welcoming world’s most ….. gadget.

After flew to India through Vodafone, now iPhone finally hit South east Asia via SingTel. Now you have to believe me since I got this one from Reuters.

Here you are:

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (STEL.SI: Quote, Profile, Research) and its mobile associates will bring Apple Inc’s (AAPL.O: Quote, Profile, Research) popular iPhone to Singapore, India, Australia and the Philippines later this year, Southeast Asia’s largest phone company said on Monday.

SingTel said that it, Bharti Airtel Ltd, Globe Telecom Inc, Australian unit Optus had signed the agreement with Apple.

Poor Reuters, they don’t tell us whether Apple will give these regions their 2G iPhone or the 3G version. I think this issue is stil important for South East Asian people since these region are not like Japan which need not international 2G standard anymore. Standard which 2G iPhone has to come with.

Oh man, I hope Telkomsel will bring it for Indonesian!

AT&T and T-Mobile will grab this device for their customers first. It means that Asian possibly will not become the first one to give it a try. At least not before June this year. However, based on their press release, this Bold series will hit wireless carrier around the world beginning this summer.

Hmmm, so what’s interesting up there? You probably said, “everything.” Well, so do I. Imagining LG-Prada is just like having Hercules work together with Xena to build a weapon which fit for both of them. So there you are. A phone where LG put their innovation in technology together with Prada’s genuine craftsmanship on design, detail and marketing. Beautiful yet powerful.

Reason of the delay

There are two main factors that causing this Prada’s lateness in Japan. First, technical factor. Japan uses a proprietary 2G standard (which Prada’s 2G version isn’t technically comes with) so 3G support is essential if an international handset is to be launched here. Second is because the Japanese’ customers itself which have been known as “sophisticated” one. So, blame yourself Japanese. Your characteristic make this South Korean giant need more time to fulfilled your ambition for such a high-end gizmo.

Price

Having launched in May 8, 2008 at the prestigious place called Prada Store (Epicenter) in 5-2-6 Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo, everybody should know that this gizmo isn’t intended for such mass market. Though LG itself said that the 2G version of Prada had been sold for 800.000 units since January 2007 through out the world. Well that’s a lot of number for gizmo like Prada.

Place where LG and Prada launch their L852i.

For Prada’s lover, get ready to spend some ¥85,000 (US$815) to pick one. Still doubt about this exclusive gadget? I suggest you to fly around India and watch the less-than $700 Moto RAZR2 gold edition.

Blogosphere buzz for this second week.

In this week’s carnaval, we start our posts parade with Harry Potter mobile games. For EA Mobile, this is their third mobile game based on J.K. Rowling creatures. If you need this stuff to sum up your Potter collection then you have to wait till around November 29, 2008. This is the D-Days when the movie will take its debut.

Another Hollywood block buster, Iron Man - in cooperation with LG - issued such a gizmo that most American will want it. Good news for them, the price of LG Shine Iron Man Edition had degrade from $2000 to $1500. And good news for 3GWeek, our previous posts related to this issue were accepting a nice traffic in that period. We got three posts surrounding it. No wonder Google placed us in a good position when people searching for “Iron Man mobile phone + insidethesuit” or something like that.

On review, just like what I had predicted before, HTC Touch Diamond is the coolest gadget for this week. At least when we compared this not-yet-Android to Nokia 6122c, EP2502 or RAZR 2 Gold edition. However, for something that comes with gold, you should better choose Motorola since it only cost you less than US$700. Wow, am I kidding here? No, I don’t and neither this Cuusoo’s stuff .

From the corporate world, we got two stuffs. First, that one samurai have decided to open a cellphone factory in Bengal, India. It is Mitsubishi. Last, that South Korean soldiers like Pantech, LG, and Samsung are obsessively want to increase their market share in the land of Sakura, Japan. Pantech and LG are focusing on sales volume, while Samsung is concentrating on their brand name first. Whoever win, Japanese lose. Or vice versa, depends on how we see it.

Jump to India, Vodafone had officially announced that they will sell iPhone in Gandhi’s motherland later this year. Besides India, there are also some countries such as Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey. Apple’s accidentally-competitor, RIM is not just waiting in an idle though. Tomorrow, if the rumor turn to be right, they will launch the 9000 version of famous Blackberry. Hmm … unfortunately, I personally found my self dislike this RIM’s baby design. So, I am a little bit skeptical about this. I hope I am wrong.

Android’s time! This Google’s mobile platform got its new playmate again. This time is TuneWiki, a famous media player that rocks iPhone user with a fancy features that support karaoke. Future will be bright enough. Whether for TuneWiki creators or Android itself.

In tips & tricks, 3GWeek proudly present a post on how to save your cellphone from thieves around you. Believe me this is important. This post contain a little story based on my own experience when having to deal with those thieves.

Watch out! Thieves are everywhere …

Have you ever experiencing a theft? I personally did. Poor me. It was happened to my lovely blue Nokia 3315 a couple years ago in a city bus at Jogjakarta, Indonesia. Hmmm, I was so sad at that time. Yes, so much till I feel that my tears want to drop from my eyes.

Please don’t laugh on me since losing your mobile phone could become your sadness moment. Remember, losing it means you lose not only the gizmo yet data. Data are various. It can be your contact list, messages, word documents, excel and even worse private pictures or videos.

So, how to handle this problem? Here is the tips and tricks from wanna-be-famous-blog 3GWeek:

1. Step One

Do not leave your mobile phone unattended or in open view in public places. Even if your phone is located close at hand, a bold thief may still be willing to grab it and run.

2. Step Two

Do not leave your mobile phone on open display in an unattended car. If you do need to leave your phone in an unattended vehicle, lock it in the glove compartment or the boot.

3. Step Three

When using your phone in a public place, consider your surroundings and, if appropriate, be discrete in the way in which you use your phone. Do not use your phone in areas where you might feel unsafe.

4. Step Four

Do not give your phone to strangers who ask to borrow it.

Special case in public transport

5. Step Five

In city bus or other public transportation (like in my case, especially in Indonesia) be careful on a group of people which you feel paying too much attention on you and your gizmo or gizmo’s pouch. In Indonesia, theft are not just an individual crime, they are such a well organized action.

6. Step Six

Put your mobile phone inside of bag or pouch and make sure you keep it in front of you or anywhere else which still beyond your attention. Just don’t put it behind you!

7. Step Seven

When you don’t even carrying a bag or pouch, then holding on your mobile phone is better than keep it inside your pants’ or trousers’ pocket. Remember, those thieves aren’t be able to steal from you if you show up your gizmo. But if they still do it from you then it is not a thieving yet a robbery. Well, this one a different case. Sometimes, loving your life is better than losing your gizmo. Except if you’re Jet Lee or Jacky Chan.

Ok, I think that’s all for this Saturday. For other tips on how to protect your cellphone from crackers (data theft), check this CNET Asia’s video show by Lavinia Tan. She shows you a good step by step on how to deal with this. Cool, with Singapore beautiful down town panoramas.

Ughhh … event which being noted as The Biggest Blackberry Conference of the Year.

Actually, what is the philosophy behind the word “concept“? Can you help me? If you don’t, please forget it. Just focus on this gizmo and I bet I can help you to understand - rather than define - why such a gadget is a concept one.

The most important thing from this concept gadget is that users are be able to detach the display screen (this remind me to Modu). That’s it. So what’s the point from this feature anyway? Just let this picture explain to you directly.

Now, I’m considering that you have already understand about this.

Why it is a “concept”?

Most or perhaps all 3G mobile phone todays are undetachable. This force users to change their way when making calls (especially video calls) to their peers. The problem is, as a human, it is widely known that we are already get used to put our cellphone close to ear while doing this activity rather than put it in front of our face. Don’t we? But with this innovation, this problem may be solved.

Availability

No information yet about its price tag or market region. However, it is likely to appear first in Japan and … (just a guess) NTT DoCoMo perhaps may take this stuff into their line up product just like the previous smell-o-phone.

Very creative. Thanks for Cuusoo! I guess people will love this one. unlike this Motorola’s concept which I could hardly understood till nowadays.

The Contest is opened to participants residing in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam.

I left this condition in front of this post since I don’t want to repeat any mistakes like I did a couple weeks ago with Iron Man contest. yeah, it’s now for Asian. Finally, people like me. Though still not for the entire Asia unfortunately.

CNet Asia, one of the leading source of news and information in technology is proudly present the “CNET Asia User Survey 2008 Contest“. Prizes are cool enough, two Motorola MOTO Q 9h for two contestant. Hmmm, I want it. But I hope you’re not. Lol.

In this contest, your job is to participate in their survey. The survey is so common and easy so you don’t even need to carry such encyclopedia to get in touch with. However, the elegant black Moto Q will goes to contestants whose feedback is the best one according to CNet judges.

This is not a gold edition. But it’s Ok.

Last but not least, please beware on one more thing; that all ancillary costs, for example delivery charges, duties and other taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Actually, this is a common thing in such contest like this. So, never mind CNet, we’ll take care this stuff.

Note:

This contest will be closed in May 21, 2008. You better get hurry or I’ll have no competitor at all.

Its name is EP2502. Behind this not-so-beautiful name, there is a fact which we couldn’t hardly denied that; this is the first waterproof watch phone. Guess what, this gadget comes from China by Kintech (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. Viva Chinese!

Unlike most of watchphones out there, this gizmo probably the first species which dare to covered its engine with metal.

With $299 in price tag, we can only hope that this stuff will give Kintech a good result in term of sales. Because if it isn’t, then probably people just don’t like to make call or doing any things mobile like Jason or Billy from Power Rangers Team. But if you intended to have one, go to Surprising Gift for more information.

Famous iPhone App, TuneWiki is available for Android too.

After Opera delivered their favorite mini browser to Android, now a company called TuneWiki had also did the same by ported their famous iPhone app, TuneWiki to Android.

Yesterday, TuneWiki, one of the most popular third party developers for iPhone had announced a special media player application for Android. Interesting features from this app such as an iPhone-escue interface, sync-support with the famous Apple iTunes and karaoke lyric functionality that put them on map. Yet any other good news for Google.

The player itself, though still in beta and need a lot of improvement, has passed TuneWiki’s test very well. You can watch this demo via YouTube here.

What makes TuneWiki comes to 3GWeek is because they have successfully team up with Universal Music to provide lyrics legally. But it doesn’t stop there since other labels will be in into the list too.

Future of TuneWiki media player

Now, I just want to predict here that tomorrows will be a very shiny day for those guys on TuneWiki since Android will become an open platform. With the powerful Google’s brand name and support from major cellphone makers like HTC, LG, and Motorola, TuneWiki may have a chance to become Android most popular media player by then. Competing with other big media players like iTunes in iPhone or Windows Media Player in Windows Mobile OS.
