Dog Food Recipe

Dogs not only survived but thrived on the Dog Food Recipes which came from the human table for thousands of years. Finding free natural home made dog food recipe is not easy. It is only in the last hundred years that we have we been led to believe that dogs can not survive without packaged dog food. We are told that it would be harmful if we were to give them the scraps from our own home cooked meals.

Dog's Biscuits - Dog Food Recipe

1 cup all purpose flour
1 ½ cups oats (uncooked oatmeal)
1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
1 ½ cups corn meal
4 T garlic powder
½ cup oat bran
1/ 3 cup olive oil
3 T honey
egg
1 ¼ c ups chicken, beef or vegetable broth

Preheat oven to 300° F. Grease (or line with parchment paper) 2 large cookie sheets. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add the egg, oil and stock. Mix well to form a soft dough that is firm enough to roll out. On a floured surface roll out dough to about 1/2 inch in thickness. Cut into desired shapes and place about 1 inch apart on the prepared cookie sheet. Bake for two hours, then turn the oven off and let the biscuits sit for several hours until oven is completely cool in order to dry and harden them. Store at room temperature for several months.

I don't know what you think about it or what the cats thinks. The only thing I know is that cats are so gentle (usually) and beautiful just the way they are. I know there is so much pain in the world, illnesses that needs to be cured (but we still do not know how), and people who have the money, instead of contributing to the humankind, they put their money for stupid things like GLOWING CAT in the dark, or MICE that is NOT AFRAID OF CATS. Can someone help me understand the point here??? I don't know if the cats in the pictures below enjoyed the color and hair styling they got, but some looks quite cute. Would you do it to your kitty?

The most important thing to do after you get your pooch (or kitty) is to take them to the vat for checkup, get the vaccinations and talk to them about implanting chip with your address and other necessary information about your dog. Don't forget to register the pet with the authority and get the tag to be attached to the collar.
It all sounds like to much effort but ....read what happened to dog owner in NY.
They had their pooch for 7 years. One day the cute tiny dog was playing in the yard, the other minute he was gone. They looked for him all over the neighborhood, hanged flayers with his picture, promises $100 reward for the one who'll bring the dog home. Nothing.
After a while they find out that their dog was found and was taken to a shelter, the law says in NY that the shelter needs to wait 5 days before giving the stray dog for adoption. they did wait 7 days and then a new family adopted him.
Now the first owner can do nothing. Because there was no identification of any kind on the dog, he was treated as a stray dog.
Can you imagine the heartbreak it caused????
You maybe saying your dog is at home all day, he never runs away, or my cat is indoor cat. Well, so was this dog for seven years, and then in one second they lost him for good.
It only takes a vat visit to keep your pet with you .........and think about it.

No one know exactly when cat become domesticated, but there is a believe that it was in the 1600 B.C. Ancient Egyptians were the first to domesticate cats. During the years, people moved from one place to another, accompanied with their cats and contributed to the expansion all over the world.
Even though the cats are domesticated for so long, they did not lost their hunting instincts and independence. Ask any cat owner and he'll tell you, that when his cat is awake he is very sensitive to any unusual noise, that he is chasing flies, mice, birds etc. When the owner call his cat name, sometime he'll come and sometime he becomes totally deaf...

New Pups - Part 2

From the moment of birth, the mother takes care of all the little one need. She needs to be in a quite and calm environment, without disturbing her too much.
Immediately after birth the mother leeks the newborn to clean him, to separate the umbilical cord from the placenta and to stimulate and warms the puppies.
If any of the pups looks sick, or the mother ignore him, or the puppy is not feed you should call the vet.
The first tree weeks, the mother takes care of any need - feeding, licking, eliminate waste.
90% of the tree first week, the newborns spends in sleeping.
their eyes open around day 10, the ear canal open around the fifteen day and they become more responsive to their surroundings.
The mom should get more food then usual when she feeds her pups.
Both the mother and her newborns should visit the vet. If they all seems fine it does not need to be immediately, but if any of them looks sick do not delay. the mother can have infection, or other complication, and the puppies needs a complete checkup and vaccinations. The first vaccination at eight weeks, then the twelve, sixteen. Ask your vet for his advise.
Before they are immunize, keep them indoors, because they are vulnerable to infection and other diseases from the outdoors and other dogs.

Be Ready for New Pups - Part 1

The first thing to take in consideration is whether you can take car of new puppies. If not- it is irresponsible to allow your dog to become pregnant. Caring for puppies is a demanding commitment that should not be undertaken lightly.
Before giving birth:
*Have your vet phone number for any case.
*Prepare old towels, disinfected and warm water.
*when the mother begins to shiver and become restless, it's a sign the time has arrived. Also, *she'll pant and her body temp. drop two or tree degrees.
*After the first puppy arrives, the others should follow every eight to ten seconds.
When to call the vet:
*Two hours after contraction started and still no puppy.
* The mother does not deliver a placenta for each puppy.
*Mother become to weak or tired to manage the contractions.
*More then two hours after one puppy and still no sign of the next one.

What you need to prepare for an emergency:
*Keep pet carriers, leashes,harnesses and dog tag in good condition and reachable.
*Place medications and medical records, including proof of current vaccinations, in a waterproof container
*A two week supply of any medication your pet may be taking on a regular basis and familiar food and water.
*An information sheet including: medical conditions and treatment schedule if needed, feeding instructions, name and phone number of your vet or a kennel outside your area in case you need it.
*Photos of your pet in case it gets lost.
*Attach your name and information to the back of the dog tag, if you know the phone # where you'll be, add it too.
*Today there are many friendly pet hotels/motels, make a list and phone #, maybe you'll need to use it.

The Hunter Cats

So i came home yesterday around noon. That time of the day my two precious cats are in a deep sleep, probably dreaming about some delicacy food.
Well, this time they are awake, and i feel some excitement in the air. Surprised i am entering the living room and i see on the carpet something. I take a closer look, and i see something very small
with long tail. A tiny mouse, lying on his side. I live in this house for 8 years and never had a mouse before. I throw him out using my shoe, kicking him out of the door, while my other leg trying to hold back Carmen from jumping on him, ignoring her loud protest and her angry eyes for taking this wonderful new game from her.
Don't you think it is quite amazing that even after so many, many years of being domesticated, these animals still have the hunting nature in them?

Before you bring home dog, you need to do some thinking.
- Do you have children. It is important to choose a dog that is calm, friendly and tolerant.
- How much space you have in your home. Large dogs need more space.
- Is someone in your family have allergies. Shedding can be a problem in that case. You can look for breeds with a little or no shedding.
- Do you spend time traveling. If you do, someone needs to take care of the dog. Think about the expenses, can you afford it.
- Vet, grooming, food, accessories, it's all cost money.
- Do you have the time to play, exercise, spoil your new pooch.

Hey, I’ve noticed that you’ve new set of beautiful pet carriers in your website.

For all my life, I was under the impression that dogs have 4-leggs to walk on.

I thought that dogs and cats can and should walk, and we, the humans, force them to be in our hands.

Well, I was although under the impression that they also have their own fur and that they don’t need cloth.

So, I arrived to the Big Apple, especially to Manhattan, and I was proved wrong.

I saw dogs wearing cloth and not just “cloth”, they were fancy cloth, from gown to “just” a sweater, and from boots to shoes.

One of the most amazing discoveries was the carrier fashion.

You could walk near (mainly) a girl, walking with a very colorful, looked like designer’s bag, and suddenly hearing Warf, from the bag.

Initially, I thought that the dogs are carried in a real designer bag, but than I start noticing that the bags have windows. So I realized that they were pet’s carriers.

Now that I see the line of carriers you have on your site, I think I’m going to buy one, and then search for the dog to put in the carrier.

This strange story was reported on the news last week.
The police, after someone call them, arrived to a house in a nice neighborhood, just to find that it was full with cats. Dozens of cats. They all seem to be in a good shape, but the smell was unbearable.
The strange thing was, that the owners of the house (and the cats off course) well... they lived outside, in their cars. They had their clothes in it, and they were sleeping in it.

As far as I know, no charges filed, though it is unusual behavior, there was no cruelty against the cats.

The question is why, why people reach a point where pets overcome their live. Is it too much love? Is it the inability to make rational decisions when it comes to pets? Is it a mental thing that has nothing to do with pets? How much is too much pets to own?
