Where’d My Vacation Go?

We went to Disney World (yes, again) WAY back at the beginning of February. It was COLD, but we had a great time. A whole month has gone by and it feels like we never left!

Here are a bunch of pictures from the trip. Looking at them really makes me want to go back!

The Gorgeous Timesuck

Back in August, Karen convinced me that I just HAD to crocket the Raindrops Broomstick Lace Shawl (Ravelry Link) from Interweave Crochet Summer 2009 for the store, and really, how could I argue. It’s crocheted in Valley Yarns 2/10 Merino/Tencel, has beads, and is really just stunning. I had also never tried broomstick lace before, and who am I to scoff at a craft challenge? :)

Mirth - A Fitted Raglan Shawl

I follow Stephanie Japel (glampyre) on Twitter and several weeks ago she announced that she was going to start offering classes online through ning.com. (http://stefaniejapel.ning.com/ for more info!). Her first class was for Mirth, a fitted raglan shawl. I’m a big fan of Stefanie’s patterns and have knit two from her book Fitted Knits. This is a rare thing for me…almost as rare as knitting the same pattern twice.

What Happened to Summer?

I can’t believe summer is unofficially over! Where did the time go? As I type this, I’m watching the Pats opening game (Monday Night Football) and I can’t believe football season has rolled around again.

I didn’t get much done over the summer. At least, it doesn’t seem like I got much done! I did a lot of baking, because it made me happy. I forgot how much I enjoyed baking. Of course, I had to share the stuff I baked to get it out of my house! The popovers were an experience and surprisingly easy.

Happy Fourth!

Happy Fourth of July everyone!
Here's a video Ed took a week ago on his iPhone of the Easthampton fireworks. They had to set them off early, and fast, but they were still lovely. The video doesn't do them justice. (That flash and scream at 9 seconds...yeah, that's lightning!)

Checked Off the List

So, first things first….Sunday morning, I was in the kitchen at the sink and saw these birds out of the corner of my eye and they scared the crap out of me! I am not a fan of birds and they were just chilling out on the deck. We’ve had a lot of tiny birds in the yard this winter, and they were especially vocal Sunday morning, but these two…these two were just plain creepy.

See…CREEPY!

(but not ketchup...I'm not much of a fan)

So, it has been brought to my attention, that I never shared honeymoon pictures. Yeah...stuff kind of got in the way of that, so here are a few of my favorites:

We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. This was the view from our room. It was pretty awesome, but we did find ourselves missing Port Orleans French Quarter. It was incredible to take the boat over to the Magic Kingdom though!

Maybe I'll be back for real this time! So many things have changed since I last posted. Ed and I bought a house and moved in. We're almost done fixing it up - just a little more painting and sprucing to do. I discovered that I have far too much yarn, but that's another topic, for another post, as is the house. I want to share the biggest change!
Ed and I got married on October 10th!

So How Was It?

There will be MANY pictures! This weekend, Ed and I made our way to Boston for the Phantom Gourmet BBQ Beach Party. We attended last year, but just for one day. I think this year was even better. They pushed some of the vendors back, so it seemed like there was more room. They also moved the stage to City Hall instead of on the “beach.” I think this worked out MUCH better. They also had more places to buy beer, which we didn’t partake in. Water was PLENTY expensive thank you very much!
