Quest cancelled and my trip to Virginia

Here is the 700 club building at Regent University!

This past weekend I traveled to Virginia to check out the town and to take the 700 Club studio tour. The tour was amazing expecially watching the live taping of the show where I met Mrs. Terry Meeuwsen and Mr. Gordon Robertson. I also got to see the glorious editing studio! Boy I would love to work there. I tried to go to the 757 connect but I got no answer on the phone call. Later that day I went to Wave Church to stop by and talk to their pastor. They were in the process of building a new enormous church. I met several people including some who were in the ministry school that the church was evolved in. It was one of my favorite stops. Saturday I packed up and drove home. What a inspirational trip!

This week I decided to cancel my Quest of 48 days left. I plan to go back to college in Jacksonville and get a degree in video editing. There wasn't any jobs I could get at CBN without any experience or much education but I still plan to go back to Virginia in the future and try this quest again.

Here's a picture of a map that shows more detail to where i'm headed on my trip. These are not yet in order due to the fact I still have to call CBN and ask if I can come in later for the tour. I still have to call UPS, CBN and Tidewater College tomorrow. I did however Email Wave Church and the 757 connect of Altantic Shores Baptist Church about visiting and talking to them when I get there. I was going to call more people today but I was busy producing videos and working on Inspirational Experiences as planned. As for now I can't wait to drive those 10 hours up there!

New trip planned

I have thirty days left and today I'm on vacation this week. Today I looked at a google map of virginia and partially planed the trip, I also put together a script for two new videos.

It's going to be hard to find any more information about Virginia prior to going there seems like everything I study online isn't just isn't sufficant. I need to go there and see for myself and friday that's what i entend to do!

Tomorrow is phone, email, map and plan trip day - I let you in on the details then!

After a major ER set back i'm finally back in the game. Today I looked for a place to live in Virginia. I first got an offer on Myspace to buy a house but I don't think I can afford a house yet even with my parents help although they're offering it at a good price due to the fact of a divorce. I also found some apartment rentals that are availible at Regent that seem pretty reasonable; This hits closer to home than anything else. Some of the pastors have offered to try to find me a place as well, however they have not made any conclusions. I've also found some good rentals on craigslist that i'm still looking into. I going to have to visit Virginia before I can really decide.

The trip and the videos for this week have been cancelled due to a severe sickness. I've had a number of setbacks for the "48 days left" plans due to illness related causes. Last night I was rushed to the emergency room. I had a strong burning feeling in my chest that was painful. After an hour of fluid and pain killers the pain stopped. The doctor said that the pain was a viral infection (also acid reflux related) and said that it would go away. He also said if it came back that I would need to seek medical attention fast!

I be back to work tomorrow!!!!

Today I finished my resume with my father who offered help and guidance. Tommorow I plan to do a video for Inspirational Experiences. Today I gathered infomation on a trip to Virginia I was planning for Saturday. I can't wait to travel there this weekend.

Today I have a major headache and I have been sneezing all weekend!

This weekend I did not accomplish a post. I was tided up in church, my cousins birthday, a Young-Adult ministry class and a septic tank repair. I did however start the resume and I will finish it tomorrow, my dad wants to help me accomplish it and he said he would be available Tuesday night. My Windows computer has Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office has resume maker built-in to Microsoft Word. Finally a resume I can use.

Even though I did not complete any post this weekend as promised (since I promised to post all 48 days) I have decided to list my goals (deadlines) for this week today. I also thought up an idea about a play that I might put together before I leave.

Goals:
1. Finish Resume : Tommorow
2. Write Play : This Week
3. Do Three post for Inspirational Experiences
4. Travel to Virginia : Sat (I'll keep up-to-date on this topic throughout this week)
5. Keep posting in this site everyday

Today I found some major grammar issues with this site and repaired them. I usually don't get around to posting a page until after 11pm. I try to check it the best I can as well as running grammar and spelling checks but a computer is however insufficient to finding any real mistakes. ~bummer~
Maybe I should pay someone to check my grammar or maybe I should get my dad to do it. Hey I'm the one that help him dig out the septic tank today; always a fun chore.

Well I still haven't found a good resume maker yet, I'm probably going to have to use my Windows computer and buy one. I found a resume maker in Open Office but it wasn't what I was looking for. I found several resumes lying around today but there all out dated.

I also had someone message me about my A+ certifications and whether or not I had plans to pursue an IT job. I paused and said no i'm in pursuit of something else. In the back of my mind I almost wanted to be a computer repairman and do what I can do. But the problem is it would not convey my persistance; it's not a ambition it's just what i'm capable of. I deserve to put my self in to a world of dreams; a location that will ensure excellence and compentance. I need to place myself where I feel that I can make the most of my day.

I decided to make plans to visit Virginia before actually going there. I think if I can actually see the place in visual persepctive I’m more likely to be there in February. I have Saturday the 25th planned out. I want to be able to see the place and talk to the people that will help me find a place to stay. After I find people to stay with I will plan to move on from there and actually live on my own; possibly. I first want to live with people though whether it's roommates or adult family sharing a room for rent. I plan to work at Ups at night and I should have a pay raise this week. This will come in handy!

I’m also not afraid to be the only one I know living up there. First reason being because this is my purpose to be a light in Christian Entertainment. The only thing left is to get a job working for the 700 Club; victory lane is in sight!

42 Days Left - Good News, Bad News

Bad News:

01. I always like telling the bad news first. I was not able to get a resume done in time today. Believe it or not Mac Office 2004 does not come with a resume template. I did however find forum online that showed where I could get one, but when I went to the site I only found out that Mac's Microsoft Office web-page decided to update to the newer Mac Office 2008 version. This means that the $300 Mac Office 2004 is now obsolete. I'm still looking for an alternative I try Open Office tomorrow it's an open source free word processor.

02. I did not get to upload my video due to youtube being down. Here's a picture of it so that I have proof that I actually did it today!

Good News:

01. One of the pastors wrote me back today saying that he was going to help me out today in finding somewhere to live, I'm so happy; that's one step down thirty left to go.

02. I also found out that Ups was going to let me go all I have to do is take a few college classes and I'm excepted and then I have a paying night time job making 11:50 an hour.

Hello Everyone here is today's objective

The person who told me they had a house offer never mailed me back. Today I took time to think about my living situation in Virginia and tomorrow I will write out a resume to CBN and regent. I now plan to either find roommates and live with them or pay rent for a room. I don’t have the money to afford a house yet. Today I mail a letter to a few pastors at a church here’s what I wrote.

Hello

Hello my name is Chris Jones and I am 22-year-old professional Internet video blogger. I’m writing you today from Callahan, Fl (north of Jacksonville) and in the next month I plan to move to Virginia and attend your church. A lot of your members have responded to me over the last couple of months and told how all the wonderful ministries that take place (people from the 757connect). I’m moving from Florida in a quest to work in the Christian Entertainment field at the 700 club. I also have a website that is dedicated to helping me reach my goal.

But today I need your help. As of today I know no one who lives in Virginia and have no where to stay. I clean background and I am coming to Virginia by myself. I am willing to clean and pay rent. I need a room to stay in whether it be in a apartment with roomates or a room in a house. I ask the church this because I wish to stay with people who are Christians. I am now the tech industry Christian king.

Yesterday was a day of rest today was a day of work. I took time out today to pray read my bible and of course watch Steve Jobs present the new extra pricey Macbook Air. I know this seems like a waste of time but if you look at Inspirational Experiences most of the people come to find out how to download and watch sermons free online or how to download my motivation tape or which Christian Myspace should I choose. I have realized that I’m in demand for anything that is Christian tech related. I get 20 hits a day for tech related questions like these typed in Google and Yahoo search engines.

Today I was so tired and I was done with a work and traveling so I decied if God takes breaks we should take breaks too. I will finish writing out my emails to people and make new videos for the site tomorrow!

Pray for me they said that it might be hard for me to keep my UPS job if I decied to move. I can't say why or how it can be change because I'm suppose to keep that part secret.

This week I have to make some drastic changes if I’m going to get this ball rolling. Today I went to church with my friends way out in Brunswick, Georgia (Bethel Church) and then went to my Sunday night young adults group. I asked about the house yesterday but so far have received no response. I did however have one girl on Myspace telling me about job offerings at Regent University which is basically CBN and that they have apartments. Tomorrow I plan to find out more information on Regent and email some more people that I have contacts with. I also plan to email CBN this week; the biggest step yet!

Today I was pretty tided up with continuing yesterday’s work and figuring out today’s plan. If I told the honest truth I spent most of my day reading to other Christian blogs and writing to them. Of course if you count that I also bought groceries and went to Jacksonville to eat out on my mom’s birthday as well as conquering laundry. We ate at Longhorns Steakhouse the food was great, almost worth the cost.

After getting home I had several messages and ended up talking to my friend from India, Sidharth and we discussed his blog page and asked me how I felt about his blog content.
I just about ran out of time to find something online to help out my goal. However I did find someone selling a house – I’ll check in today and let you know about it tomorrow.

I ended up taking a good amount of time to pray today. I plan to do this early this week but got caught between the work between my to blogs. However I do pray everyday I just haven’t spent much time praying other than like 10 minutes. I really prayed and focus about the move I was going to make today. Here’s a picture of my wonderful prayer closet.

Today I’m basically getting the word out about this blog. Tonight I plan to invite some of my Myspace friends to see it. I’m trying to publicize this blog through Digg and a few of my friends online. All day I’ve been working hard to get the blog set up. Right before I set the blog up and published a page today about what I did to make my goal today I had to go to work.

One of my friends today told that he knew someone that knew someone’s mother who was best friends with Pat Robertson how that’s going to help me I don’t know. But everyday I’m going to keep picking at this plan until I have it. Like the coal in a coal mine.

48 Days Left - Taking the next step of faith

Last month wrote in my first blog that I would be leaving in February. This month I started a blog about it.

I’m attempting to leave home and move to Virginia. This will be the first try to move out of my parents’ house. Then I want to find a job at 700 Club while sustaining my job at UPS. Since UPS is global (everywhere) there’s defiantly one in Norfolk. I also want a good job there which is a bit more of a challenge knowing that most UPSers become Unloaders and work ten times as harder then a dumper (my job) where I’m at now.

Why the 700 Club?

Because I want to work in the Christian entertainment field and CBN seems to be the best company to go for. I think what turned me on was the Pat Robertson life story where he started CBN by just going out and buying an old station for $70 that story is in his book Pat Robertson – The Authorized Biography.

I’ve also accomplished a lot for Christian Entertainment already

I’m well equipped for an entertainment job, almost 20,000 people have watch my videos world wide though Metacafe, Godtube and Youtube. I also have a blog that is view by 20 to 40 people a day and it just keeps on rising.

How I have started my way towards the blog and going to Virginia.

I’ve already contacted many people in the Virginia area some of which know Pat Robertson though family. I also know that I am suppose to attend 757 connect which is a young adult group who have messaged me last month in Myspace about my quest. This group is in Virginia Beach. It's in a church called Atlantic Shores Baptist Church

I have also felt that this is God’s calling especially by how many people want to see me make the move and that I’m motivated to spend everyday blogging about how everyday I’m taking another step to move forward.
